50 Is Not Old is wearing a violet cardigan and skinny jeansThe cleaning and purging are continuing, but at a much slower pace since my daughter is still down in her back. She is a “taskmaster” when she feels good, but she has been staying in bed a lot the past few days, letting her back heal. Her back is much better, but she doesn’t want to over-do it and aggravate the condition again. I am taking the lack of an overlord to straighten up all of the mess that we have created by cleaning. Lol! That sounds like an oxymoron.
50 Is Not Old is wearing a violet cardigan, skinny jeans and leopard shoes made from plasticA lot of items have been given away, some of the things have been donated, and some of it will be sold. My daughter-in-law has been listing and selling a lot of my jewelry for the past week. I told her that I would give her half of the money if she took care of the entire selling process. It sounds like a good deal for her, but the amount of work involved in this process is crazy. Her entire kitchen exploded with jewelry while she was sorting it all so that she could take pictures of everything. Then she had to price everything and list it all in the FB group, answer questions, keep up with who bought what, and who has paid, and now she is in the process of collecting addresses so that she can get everything in the mail. Lol! I think that I got a bargain, but I am not sure what she thinks. I wonder if she is interested in selling my clothing now. Hahahaha!!!

Have you heard of the brand Rothys? If you have, then you are ahead of me because I was in the dark. But, these shoes were an item that I could earn with R+F, so I got curious and did some digging. I was so impressed with what I read about this company that I decided to buy myself a pair instead of trying to earn them. These shoes are different from anything else that I have ever purchased. They are made from recycled plastic and other sustainable products. They are knitted together instead of cut from material, and that saves on waste. Another big difference is the fact that they are washable. They have a removable padded insole, and you can throw them in the washer. I ordered my usual size, but they were too tight, so I reordered in a 1/2 size larger. They are still snug, but I think that they will be fine after I have worn them a time or two.

These look awesome and are a great way to dress up a casual look. I can see myself wearing these a lot in the upcoming months. Get your leopard print shoes here!

50 Is Not Old is wearing a violet cardigan and a white tee with gold jewelryThis beautiful violet cardigan/jacket was one that I showed you in my try-on session here. I am not deliberately trying to coordinate my outfits with the wreath on my door, but this matched perfectly, and so did this one, and this one, and this one. Lol! I hope that you ordered this shawl cardigan when I showed it to you in my try-on session because the sizes are very limited now. The cardigan is flattering with the shawl collar and the position that it hits on the hips. Cardigans are one of my favorite ways to help me look thinner. They bring the eye inward, they confuse the eye on how wide you are, and all of that creates a “thinner” looking you. I would love to be thinner, but until that happens, I’ll keep finding ways to create that illusion. Here is the link to this cardigan that is on “final sale.”
50 Is Not Old is wearing a violet cardigan and gold jewelryGold jewelry looked terrific against the backdrop of this deep violet cardigan. The delicate Sophee earrings from Kendra Scott are 14k gold plate over brass. I love the elegant look of these earrings, and they can be dressed up or down. This earring is available in three other colors, and there is a smaller version called the Sophia that looks almost identical. The Maggie bangle bracelet and the Logan cuff bracelet have become two of my “grab and go” jewelry items. The Christine multi-strand beaded necklace has gold, purple, and white beads on a gold chain, and it looked great with this cardigan.
50 Is Not Old is wearing skinny jeans and leopard flats made from plasticThis is the time that I would usually tell you about the jeans that I am wearing. I would tell you that they are skinny jeans and that I am wearing a size 10. Then, I would tell you that I love skinny jeans because I can wear them with flats, ankle boots, over by tucking them inside knee boots. Next, I would tell you what brand I am wearing and give you a link so that you could purchase some for yourself. BUT, I took these photos several days ago, and I didn’t pay attention to which pair of pants that I was wearing. So, I am showing you a few that I found that looked very similar to what I am wearing. Whoops, my bad. Sorry.

50 Is Not Old is wearing a shawl cardigan and skinny jeansMy daughter is so much like her daddy. She has the same coloration as him, she has his same “sailor” mouth, and she has his skills when it comes to math. And, if you look behind me in the photo, you will see that she has his same photobombing skills. Lol! Remember when he photobombed me in this post?
50 Is Not Old is wearing a violet shawl cardigan and skinny jeansHow have the New Year’s resolutions been going? This is about the time when most people give up on the resolutions and say, “I don’t care anyway.” That is probably not the truth, but it is easier to give up than it is to keep going. I have been there and done that, so I  am talking from experience. I have kept some resolutions, but for the most part, they have fallen by the wayside. Below is a photo of me in January 2016, so this was exactly four years ago. I had started the blog, and I didn’t like the way my skin looked when I looked in the mirror. It looked tired, blotchy, wrinkled, and had large age spots.
So, I decided to try a new skincare brand that I had heard about and see if I could finally get in the habit of taking my makeup off nightly. I had tried many, many times before, but I would always give up because I never saw results. But, this time was different. This time I actually saw my face start to improve. If you have tried everything also, but nothing seems to work, then give this a chance. You have a 60-day money-back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose. Here is the link to the website, but before you decide to order, contact me at taniastephens12@gmail.com, and I will help you with the process and give you a special offer.

  1. I’d like to know about your brow product and color. As I’ve aged my already thin brows are even thinner, bit being blonde and now “whiter”, most all brow products are too dark. Help!

  2. Tania,
That cardigan is definitely “your” color. Very flattering on you, my dear!

  3. The first thing I thought when I saw your photo was, “oh, that’s pretty!” Love, love, love this entire look. The cardigan is a gorgeous color on you and one of my favs. Like the shoes too and I’ve heard a lot about them but I don’t think I can spend that much on shoes. Definite ?? today.

  4. Love the look and your photo bomber! Hope her back heals up!

  5. Love the cardigan! So slimming and pretty. Does it run true to size? What size are you wearing?
And I agree that you look so much younger now!

  6. I love the burgundy carldi/jacket on you! Beautiful color, great fir and seemingly very versatile. I have had my eye on Rothy’s for a while. A bit pricey but I see them everywhere. Not a fan of animal prints for me, I know it’s considered a neutral but I am tired of the look coming up on everything, online and in person. Just me, I guess. LOL. I like all the clothes in the photo with the green jacket. I don’t like having it on all together for myself, I’m 5’1″ and have some extra pounds on my frame, I feel the eye doesn’t know where to go and I feel frumpy not put together. But I see combining colors and textures are fashionable. Sometimes I wish a stylist lived in my closet to wave the magic wand and make things look great on me. LOL.

I bought a pair of Rothy’s 1/2 size larger and found them still tight. They never have stretched. Definitely need a full size on the ‘point’ style. I’m going to sell mine and buy another pair. Love the concept.

    1. I was just going to say, “I hope you sized up!” I am an 8-8.5 normally and my Rothy’s points and loafers are 9.5.

  8. Christine Bateman says:

Wow your skin looks incredible! You are reverse ageing. ?. Thanks for mentioning your skin care products as they made a world of difference for the way I look too. I love hearing about you and your daughter she sounds so vibrant and incredible. I hope she keeps photo bombing you LOL it’s hilarious.

  9. The cardigan is such a pretty color! I’ve heard of Rothy’s but have not tried them!

  10. I have been wanting to get a pair of Rothys for so long but was afraid to pull the trigger because of the expense and because I am a nurse and I don’t need to pay $165 for something I will only wear on occasion. But here’s what I did and then what I intend to do because I really want a pair. Skechers makes a shoe called Cleo that may not be exactly the same as Rothys but the same idea. They are all knit-maybe not made out of plastic bottles-but very comfortable right out of the box. And I am telling you I have the worst feet. Bunions, one permanently swollen foot, and crooked toes. Sexy! But the Cleos fit like a dream and I got them in black and navy because those are basic. But to jump on the bandwagon of Rothys, I will be purchasing the white sneaker because they are washable. And I need that for the hospital

  11. Deborah Broughton says:

You do look younger and thinner now!

  12. Elizabeth Tyminski says:

Great outfit and you are a terrific ad for R + F.

  13. cynthiahattersley says:

That color looks fabulous on you!

  14. I must say, you look younger than you did four years ago! That colour cardigan is very flattering on you too.

    1. Janet, you are the winner of my favorite comment so far today!!!

  15. That cardigan/jacket looks great on you and I love the color! I’ve heard so much about Rothys but I’ve never tried them because of the price. I love wearing a variety of footwear and so I buy more reasonably priced shoes so I can have more shoes to choose from! I hope your daughter’s back is totally healed soon!

    1. Mary, I think that might be the reason that I don’t “invest” in shoes. I like buying in bulk, but I am starting to morph and buy things that will last me for a longer time.

  16. Hi Tania,

    Love today’s outfit!

    1. Yay! I am glad that you like the look.

  17. Hi Tania! Love your look today… that cardigan looks great on you and I love that color! I wanted to let you know that I have been selling clothing on Poshmark over the past year and do pretty well. I was wondering if you might be interested in having me sell your clothes for you? It’s just a thought since it seems like you might have a lot. I currently sell for myself and my daughter but I do know that other bloggers do hire people to sell for them on the site. Anyway, just food for thought. If you want to chat about it more please email me at nicolegossage@att.net. Thank you, Tania! ?

    1. Thanks, Nicole. I love the color or the cardigan, and I just ordered an ivory/white one for spring. I have looked into Poshmark, and I have an account, but I haven’t had the energy to go through my closet yet. Lol!
