A SIMPLE WAY TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY

Bright pink jacket with a black t-shirt and jean worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldHappy Friday!!! I am feeling much better, and my energy level is sky-high. You know that I love reading/listening to self-development books, and I recently read one that was short and sweet. I have the Audible app, and I purchase the audible books from Amazon and listen to them when I walk, get dressed, or can’t sleep at night. To keep from bothering Joe, I will insert my AirPods so that he never knows that I am even awake.

I am usually a “half full” kind of gal anyway, but this book was very motivating about making sure that you don’t have energy vampires around you. An Energy Vampire is someone negative all the time, and they can suck the life right out of you. I bet every one of you can think of someone you know who fits this description. By the time that you finish the book, you realize that you have the choice of how your day is going to unfold. You can’t control events that happen in your life, but you can control how you respond, and that will control the outcome. If you have read this book, please comment on your takeaway.
Bright pink jacket with a black t-shirt and gold jewelry worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldIt would be hard to negative is such a bright and colorful jacket. Adding a bright and colorful piece of clothing is a simple way to brighten up your entire day. This hot pink jacket/blazer is by Court & Rowe, and this is a real show-stopper. The gold crested buttons add a ton of elegance to this jacket. It seems like I am on a button craze lately, did you see my post on Wednesday? This jacket has a striped lining, but I didn’t get a photo of that. You are bound to be happy in this jacket, and I am positive that you will get noticed. Lol! Here is the link to the jacket.
Bright pink jacket with gold jewelry worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldI haven’t been in a jewelry mood lately, but today’s look called for me to bring out the bling. I’ll start with the earrings from Kendra Scott. These are the Sophee Drop earrings in gold, but they also come in silver, rose gold, and gunmetal. I love the shape of these earrings; they are so flattering for your face. The Easton hoops in silver caught my attention, and I just placed an order for those. I loved the sleek geometric shape of those, and I can’t wait to get them to try them out. Here is the link to the Sophee earrings, and here is the link to the Easton hoops.

The mixed metallic Y necklace is from White House Black Market. I wore it with my New Year’s Eve outfit, but it has sold out. I’ll link to several others that I saw that I liked. The last things that I have on are my bracelets. I am wearing the Logan cuff from The Styled Collection, the Lelani gold link bracelet from Plunder, and the Maggie gold filigree bangle bracelet by Kendra Scott.

Black flats and jeans with a cuff worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldI had to wear these jeweled flats from the Loft outlet today. I love the sparkly jeweled bow on these shoes and how they are stylish and fun looking. Even though they have “bling” on the toes, they still look great with jeans. These are for all of you ladies who love cute flats! Here is the link to the shoes.
Black flats, and a pair of jeans worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldHere is the dreaded back/side view of my tweed cuff jeans from Chico’s. I love the way that these jeans look and fit. They have the unique details (pearls and tweed at the cuff) that I look for in my clothing. And, they have a relaxed vibe as well as a dressy vibe. The combination of both casual and dressy is hard to achieve. I sent back the size 1.5 and reordered the size 1, and I am so glad. Size 1 fits me perfectly!!! Here is the link to the jeans.
Bright pink jacket with a black t-shirt and belted jean worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldThe black leather belt that I am wearing is by Madewell. First off, I can’t believe that I am wearing a belt because I never want to draw attention to my waistline. This is a look that I like on other people, but it is one that I have shied away from wearing. I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for it. The belt is called the “perfect leather belt,” and it has lived up to its name so far. I am wearing a large, and it is big on me. But, I don’t mind that because if I decide to wear it around my hips, it would need to be bigger. Here is the link to the belt.
Bright pink jacket with a black t-shirt and cuffed jeans worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldJust like yesterday’s post, today I am wearing a classic and a must-have wardrobe staple. A simple black v-neck tee is so versatile, and you can wear them alone or as layering pieces. Also, because it is a short sleeve t-shirt, you can wear this all year round, making it a great building basic.

I use my cell phone, and also chrome.

  2. I love this outfit. Especially the jeans!

  3. Marcie Warnock says:

Love the shoes but they are only available in sizes, 7, 8 and 9. Bummer!

    Your classic look is fabulous.

    1. I hate that, Marcie. These shoes have been around for a while, and they are cute. I see why they might be getting low in stock.

    Your pictures aren’t loading

    1. Karen, tell me what kind of device you use to look at my post, and what server you use. I use Chrome and it is working fine for me.

What a beautiful bright jacket and looks lovely w those cute jeans and fancy shoes! Certainly brightened my day (and it’s grey and foggy here). Now can you tell me what R& F products you’ve been using since you look amazing and radiantly young?

    1. I am glad that you liked the outfit, Charlcy. I use a lot of R+F products! I use Redefine (the anti-aging regimen) most of the time, and I add the eye cream, Active Hydrations Serum, Intensive Renewing Serum, and Lash Boost every day.

  6. Denim looks terrific on you! You chose the perfect pink for your coloring, and the “V” neck t-shirt is so flattering. Great styling!

    1. I love wearing v-neck shirts best. They are very flattering to almost anyone.

  7. Love how your jacket dressed up the look. I have similar jacket that I need to start wearing with jeans. I live in PA, to cold to wear flats w/o hose, what is your suggestion? Didn’t have nude socks yesterday & ended up with no socks with flats, it was chilly.

    1. I would probably wear boots instead of flats while it was cold. You can add the flats as the weather starts to warm up in the Spring.

  8. Love this outfit! Simple but classic – and the bright pink is simply fabulous!

    1. I agree, Barb! These are the kind of outfits that I like best.

The Energy Bus was a district wide read when I was an educator a number of years ago.So true about negativity and who you surround yourself with. Good energy and positivity is contagious. I wake up each morning in beautiful SoCal; I look at the snow capped mountains while it’s a lovely 70 degrees and I adjust my attitude before I leave the house to reflect how blessed I feel. We did have a lot of fun with the bus though! Some days a teacher would come in and announce she was at the back of the bus while others were hanging onto the bumper!

    1. Spotting an energy vampire is a learned process, but once you start ridding them from your life, you feel sooo much better.

  10. You look great in this outfit! I don’t have the pink, but a bright green blazer. I could recreate this look. 🙂

    1. I am sure that bright green would work also, Joanne.

  11. Tania, what a great outfit! I just got the same jeans delivered yesterday and I cant wait to wear them. I tried them on and they fit great (I have never ordered without trying jeans on before, but they looked so great on you, I am thankful I did) Have a great weekend.

    1. These fit me great now that I exchanged them for a smaller size. I am glad that you had a great experience.

  12. Love this look on you!! Love your energy and enthusiasm too!! You are a blessing in my life!! Thanks!!

    1. I do try to be a “half-full” or even an “over-flowing” kind of person.

  13. Glad you’re feeling better! Love the outfit-definitely something I would wear! Have a great weekend!

    1. I am feeling much better. But, dang it has gotten cold again.

  14. Tammy Brown says:

You look fabulous! Just ordered the jeans. I think they will dress up nicely for my convention in Atlanta next month.

    1. Ooh! They will be perfect, Tammy.

  15. Sherli Morgan says:

Love that bright pink jacket with black tee on you. Looks amazing. The jeans are cute, but not for me. I need a slim leg to make me look longer & leaner.

It’s freezing here in the Texas panhandle….we had an ice storm yesterday. My 10am hair cut will probably not happen. Grrr..but safety first.

    Have a great weekend

    1. The temperature has dropped drastically here today, but the bright color will keep my mood bright!

    1. I am so glad that you liked the outfit, Mary!

  16. So enjoy your bright colors! You look great today. Look forward to your posts each and every day.

    1. Thanks, Kaye! This comment brightened my day even more!

    1. Nancy, I hope your weekend is good also!
