Getting outside of your comfort zone is never easy, it is downright HARD. It is called comfort zone for a reason, that is where you are the most comfortable. For me, I have been someone who was reserved and stayed in the background. That doesn’t mean that I wanted to be in the background, it means that I was afraid to put myself in the foreground.
Saturday morning was beautiful in San Francisco. The weather had been predicted to be rainy and cold, but the sun was shinning instead. It was chilly, but I came prepared and stayed snuggly warm. I dressed for comfort and warmth, but you know that I had to add some stylish elements. My first stop on my excursion was for a LONG massage. I must be the most uptight person around because they always ask me how long it has been since my last massage, and then they tell me to start scheduling them more often. Lol! I tell them that if they lived with Joe that they would be tight and tense too. LOL!!!
I loved San Francisco and the weather was great while I was visiting. I hope to have some pictures to show you on tomorrow’s blog, so be sure to check back. I am one of those people who try to do too many things at the same time and occasionally something drops. Have you heard the phrase about walking and chewing gum at the same time? I found out the last day in San Francisco that I CAN walk and chew gum at the same time, BUT, I can’t walk and text at the same time.
What is the price of kindness? Kindness doesn’t cost a thing, but it is priceless. To go out of your way to be kind to someone will not only make their day better, but it will also enrich yours also. Yesterday I listened to a Facebook video that was posted by someone that I know. She lives in the Panama City Beach area, and she was talking about all of the horrible devastations that the area suffered from Hurricane Michael. She spoke of the clean-up that was still on-going and the rebuilding that was starting to happen.
I am having a blast in San Francisco! I can already see that I will need to return and bring Joe with me. I think that he would love it here and exploring the city together would be a blast. Today was a FULL day of training and sharing. I learned so much from everyone here, and the theme seemed to all be about CARING for others. Wow! That is one of the words that I picked as a Word of the Year, so I take that as a sign. At the very end of the training session, we did a small exercise that I want ALL of you to do today. This is personal, and it is not something that I am going to ask you to share. We all took a small bottle (you can use a bag, a box, etc.) and we wrote down a dream or a goal that we wanted. The only catch is that you had to also put a time frame on receiving what you wrote down. Then we partnered up with someone we had never met before and shared our aspirations. We exchanged phone numbers, and now we will check in with each other periodically to see how things are going. I love this because it can be anything that you want it to be. It could be business related, financial related, marriage or relationship related, health-related, or anything else that comes to mind.
You know that we all have to start somewhere. Everyone has to learn how to walk, how to talk, and how to dress. As we get older, the things that we learn to do get more complicated and harder. We have to learn how to cook, how to drive, and for a young woman, it is important to learn the skills of applying makeup.
I am writing this post a few days in advance in hopes that I won’t have to stress about posting while I am in San Francisco. If everything went as planned, I am already in SF, and I am probably still a little bit jet-lagged. I usually don’t have an issue with that, but with a 3-hour time zone difference, you never know. Flying coast to coast is challenging for someone who isn’t a fan of flying. Ugh.
Today I will be boarding a jet plane and heading out on my journey to San Francisco. I mentioned that I was going on this trip on Monday, and a few of you were worried that I would be traveling alone. Thanks for your concern and for giving me tips about staying safe, I appreciate that. I am traveling with my Energizer Bunny Friend. We were both lucky enough to get this trip, and I am beyond grateful that we can travel together. The idea of traveling that far, staying that long, and having no one that I know is out there was terrifying for me. Whew, you should have seen my happy dance when it worked out that we would be going the same week. We were talking yesterday about the clothing that we would need while we were out there and she accused me of not having any “casual” clothing.
I just found out that an email did not go out to anyone about today’s post. So, here is your email and click HERE to see today’s (01-08-19) post.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Let’s try this again!!! I told you in yesterday’s post that I am traveling to San Francisco for fun and work. So, I am trying to get a few blog posts written ahead so that if I get slammed while I am out there, I won’t stress about getting a post done. Well, I messed up the “go live” scheduling dates. Lol! I am not used to writing ahead of time, so I scheduled two posts to go live at the same time. That is what I get for not paying attention. Anyway, if you had this post showed up in your email yesterday, but you couldn’t access it, that is because I had to un-publish it when I finally figured out there was a problem. I sure hope you enjoy this post after all of that trouble. Lol!!! Today “might” be an eventful day in the Stephen’s household. I used the word “might” because we have thought that this day would have already have happened before now. We are supposed to be adding ONE more to our already crazy household. In case you are thinking that I am going to become a NeeNee again, let me say that is not the case. Instead, you can start calling me the Crazy Cat Lady.
