50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINOne year ago today, I posted my very first post on 50 is Not Old. My first post, (a must read that will take all of a minute, maybe two) talks a little about why I decided to start blogging. It is funny to think back to the beginning, I knew absolutely NOTHING about blogging. I was too dumb to know that it was hard, and that there were thousands and thousands of blogs out there. I just thought you came up with a name, posted a few pictures, and people would send you lots of goodies and that you would make lots of money.50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINI am supposed to be doing a post today for the Ageless Style Link-Up, but since it is my blog anniversary, I am not following through with the theme. Be sure to check out the other ladies to see How To Transition Summer Pieces Into Fall.

Why did I decide to blog? I used to watch House Hunters a lot on television. If you have never watched the show, they take a couple looking to buy a house, and they find them three or four to choose from. I remember several of them who talked about their jobs. They said they worked online, so they could work from anywhere in the world. I thought how cool that was; you could just go and come and never have to worry about finding a new job. I was also thinking about retirement. Maybe I could find a way to earn some extra money after I retired, which is still a long way off.50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINI spent one weekend on Youtube trying to learn how to set up a Wordpress blog. Thankfully, my sister had a friend who could design and set up websites. She agreed to do my hosting, which was wonderful. She didn’t charge much at all for a year’s hosting, and the best part was, she took care of setting up EVERYTHING. I didn’t have to do a thing. If you ever decide to start blogging, you need to check out Jeanette at fatcreative.com.50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINMy first post had three likes on Facebook, and no comments. My first post to get a comment was on this post about Labor Day. My first commenter was JoLynne Shane!!! I must have left a comment on her page, because there is no way she would have found me otherwise. My first commenter that was unprompted was Brandye. And for that Brandye, I have a small gift coming your way? She has been with me from the beginning, and is still with me today!50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINSeptember was off to a rousing start, with around 2,088 pageviews. That was quite a lot, seeing as none of my friends or family even knew about the blog, These views were only from people I didn’t know. I soon found out how to do link-ups with other bloggers, and my pageviews would double every month.50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN

I just want to share with you a few stats after one year:

WOW!!! I am not sharing these numbers to brag, I don’t even know if these are bragging numbers. Lol! I am just saying that it is possible to start a blog when you are in your 50’s. I know that the Lord made this happen. There is no way that an over 50, computer challenged, in the middle of nowhere, woman that had no writing skills and no real shopping venues, could make a fashion blog and it be successful. Maybe my Sunday blog posts are the reason, otherwise I have no idea why. I am just thankful!50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINI have started receiving goodies and making a little money, but don’t look for me to quit my day job anytime soon. Haha! I am so looking forward to the upcoming year, and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for my blog. I am going to be a doing a few “tweaks” in the upcoming month. Nothing major, but things that take some time to implement. 50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINThank you so much for coming along with me in my journey, and I hope you will stick around for awhile. I feel like we have become friends. If you have a Facebook page, feel free to friend me on my personal page. That would give me an opportunity to “see” you and some of your life.50 IS NOT OLD | LET THE CELEBRATION BEGINMuch love from me and Joe ?

So glad I found your blog tonight! Since being diagnosed with breast cancer this year at 54, I have been having fun keeping my look fresh and always looking for new ideas. I liked your style immediately! Classic and trendy! And so happy to know you love the Lord as well! God bless!

  2. Latetia Leon says:

    Hi Tania,

Congratulations on your first blog anniversary. I LOVE your style & look forward to reading your posts everyday, keep them coming.

  3. Linda Michaelis says:

Congrats Tania on your blog anniversary! I am really new to your blog but my favorite post so far (this was really hard to pick since I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of your blog posts!) is the one titled “How to keep looking your best”. Navy and white have always been a favorite combo of mine but when I saw the yellow accents, I was hooked!! That pop of color really set off the outfit..Keep your posts coming, they are truly a highlight of my day…fashion AND stories!! 😀

  4. My favorite post is the “Just Wait Till You See The Rest Of This Top”. I love love love the top. It is such a neat top and I love your blog and look forward to it every day. You are such an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for encouraging us as we move through “middle age”.

  5. Kristine Thompson says:

Happy blog anniversary. I started looking at outfit ideas on pinterest and I always came back to your posts. I really love the PINK AND GRAY. I must really love it as I have been on the hunt for that pink cardigan every since I saw your post. But in addition to the clothing posts I find that the inspiritional posts, make me look at myself differtently in a better way. Thanks for all your work.

  6. Susan Winham says:

What an awesome following you have created ALL by yourself! I am sure you are overwhelmed and humbled at the same time. I receive your post by email and they are always a great read to start my day. If I have to pick a favorite fashion post it would be the “You have to see the rest of this top”. Such a cute combo with the handkerchief top : )
Glad you are feeling better! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing with us gurls!

  7. Rosalie McCuddy says:

You’re such an inspiration to me! My fashion sense is needing a boost and it is so helpful to me to see your outfits and how the pieces can be put together. Please keep up the good work – for our sake! I love the jeans and pearls post because of the mixing of classic and casual.

  8. Michelle Castagne says:

Congratulations on your milestone. I read so many of your posts and they are very entertaining. Lots of fun and laughs!

  9. Happy anniversary! I just found your blog yesterday via Pinterest. My favorite blog post is about your anniversary celebration because it gave me more insight into how you started. I love your outfits and they have been great for shopping inspiration.

  10. Happy blogaversary! The denim and pearls is my favorite outfit. Love me some checks and Pearls!

  11. Your blog on how to apply self-tanner was helpful – thank you for the suggestions!

  12. Oops, forgot to say …I loooooove the black and white striped pair of pants in the mentioned post!!!!

  13. A warm ‘Hello’, coming all the way from South Africa, Tania!!!!!! First of all – big congrats on the first blog anniversary – you are doing great and I’m ready to enjoy the next year, and many more, with you!!!!!! I discovered your blog recently via Pinterest and I am so glad I did!!!!! I am really enjoying reading it and getting style tips from you wearing your fabulous outfits!!!! Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of money to spend on clothing, but I believe when buying the correct stuff you don’t need to break the bank when shopping for stylish items!!!!! I love to sew and I’m going to get some fabric and patterns tomorrow to make some new outfits, as I have lost a lot of weight recently and a lot of my stuff is too large at this stage!!!! You have inspired me to have another look at patterned fabrics – I hardly have anything (in fact I don’t think I have anything!!!) with patterns on it and I’ve come to know that it looks great if worn the correct way and you can do so much with it!!!!! I will be turning 50 in January, and to be honest – I’m looking forward to it!!!! Fit and fabulous at 50 – that’s me!!!! I’ve started running again and are hoping to do a half marathon or two next year!!!!
I have visited a LOT of your previous posts and the one I really enjoyed is the ‘Tips for looking Your Best’ on 18 Feb 2016 – you have inspired me to ALWAYS look my best, even if I only have a relaxed day at home (you never know who might come over to visit!!!!)
I love the beautiful photo of you and your handsome hubby, in this post!!!!
I’m really looking forward to enjoy all of your posts in future!!!
Have a great day and thanks for all the inspiration to look my best every day!!!!
    Kind regards.

    1. Petra, I love this. It made me cry reading this. Thank you so much, you have no idea what comments like this mean to me.

  14. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! I’m so glad I found your blog like 6 months ago on a Pinterest post 🙂 I love your sassiness and your style! My favorite outfit you have posted is the denim and pearls! Classy but fun.

  15. Pamela M. says:

Congrats on your blog anniversary!! I love, love love your blog!! It’s absolutely my favorite. I love your style, your taste in not so expensive clothes/shoes/purses that “real” women can afford, and your taste in accessorizing your outfit (especially the plunder jewelry). So happy I found your blog about 6 months ago. My favorite outfit is the white pants with the white/navy QVC blouse that had the white cuffs at the sleeves. I fell in love with that blouse. Looked so pretty on you. But I have also learned so much by watching your videos on your hair and makeup. Don’t change a thing 🙂

  16. Congrats on one year!!! Thank you for the joy you bring. I LOVE orange and white look great together blog! Seeing how you tried two different pants made me realize how some combos are just ok, but some pop! I laughed about the crabby comment because I could relate:). But really, I can’t pick one blog, I love them all.

  17. Really? I have to pick 1 as a favorite? Impossible 🙂 I don’t think there’s a single post that I could list as a favorite. I love em all!!!! I especially enjoy hearing about your family and faith and I do look forward to the Sunday posts. Keep it up gurl!

  18. Tania, I found your blog a couple months after you had started and I went back and read all your posts. It would be very difficult for me to name just one favorite. I love your Sunday posts, they fill me with inspiration. I sometimes think you could put on a paper bag and look great. You have style gurl! I love you in bright colors. I love it when you wear black and white, such a classic look. Even though I would not attempt some of the looks you do, you have inspired me to step up my game. Thank you for sharing your love of fashion, family and faith with us on a daily basis.

  19. Happy Anniversary!! I “found” you last spring…. I started reading fashion blogs about 1 1/2 years ago….my mom was ill for many years and after helping my parents during the day, I enjoyed reading light, fun things on the Internet. Long story short, my mom passed away June 2015. After a year now with my focus on my healthy, but elderly dad, he passed away suddenly in July….so I have continued to enjoy reading fashion blogs – especially yours! I love your use of color and lighthearted look at life. Thank you for helping me these last few months as I adjust to my new life…..

  20. Mary Lu Belote says:

Happy [Belated] Anniversary, Tania! My favorite blog was one you posted on a Sunday about being thankful to God in difficult circumstances (posted July 17, I believe). Thank you for your blog and we are all looking forward to many more years of not being old along with Tania! 🙂

  21. Congratulations Tania! This is such an accomplishment. I only started following your blog at the beginning of summer, but I have become addicted to checking in with you every morning. I really liked your YouTube videos on applying makeup and picked up a few tricks. Although I check in with you every day, I have been hesitant to subscribe because I get too many emails and I hate to go through them after work. In celebration of one year of your inspirations though, I decided to cave! Your favorite post was probably “Pink makes me happy” although I rarely wear pink. I just loved the softness of it. Keep up your fun, inspiring work… I appreciate you!

    1. Your “caving” makes me happy! Haha I knew you would eventually cave. Lol!!!

  22. Debbie Zucati says:

My favorite fashion post was the one this summer where you wore pink and orange together. I can’t remember the title that day, but it was such a happy and beautiful outfit! I also really appreciated your hair styling post because it was so informative. Thank you for being so real and transparent and for acknowledging the Lord in everything. Your Sunday posts are my favorite!

  23. Congratulations Tania. I love your blog because your sincerity, caring nature and fun shines through your posts. You put clothes together in a way that can be replicated without breaking the budget. You’ve helped me the most by showing me that accessories can make the difference. I can’t remember the name of the post, but the first one where you linked to the beautiful song really touched me. Lynn from Australia. I found you by searching over 50 blogs.

  24. Congratulations on one year of a great blog! I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog every day. Too many favorites to name one, but I do thank you for the inspiration you give me to try new things. May the Lord bless you as you bless us.

  25. Congrats on your 1st Anniversary! I found you last January and liked that you wore a lot of color! I dislike black and find I’m happier wearing color. Two of my favorites posts were”Just Peachy” and the above “you should see the rest of this top”. Stunningly classy and age appropriate! Here’s to many more years of your blog.

  26. Jane McMillian says:

I LOVE your Sunday post because you are so sincere and your church clothes rock! Thanks for reminding us that 50 is just a number.

  27. toocuteinga says:

Happy 1 Year Tania! I love your posts each day. You have nice taste in clothing but more so, a God given sunshine that I adore! Here’s to many more! Susy Q xoxo

  28. Congratulations Tania!!!! I don’t always comment on your blog, but I read it everyday and love all your outfits. I also tell my friends about you, so keep up the good work.

  29. Congrats on your Blogiversary! You are the first blog I read every morning. I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite post – there are too many to list. Keep it up!

  30. Joanne Scantlebury says:

Hey Tania, congrats on the anniversary.
I love reading your post every morning. Keep up the good work?
I was just wondering if Plunder jewellry ships to Australia, and if if doesn’t can I buy straight from you.

    Have a fabulous day.

    Joanne Scantlebury??

    1. They do not ship to Australia. Another reader just had me do this for her, but the shipping is very expensive. It was 7.00 for the package to come to me, and then another 38.00 for me to ship on to her. All in US dollars, I just learned about that exchange rate. Haha

  31. Well first of all there is no way that I could pick my favorite because I love each one for different reasons!! your hair is super sassy and funky And I think that is what drew me in at first! then of course you were in your 50’s too so we had that in common and you weren’t 6′ tall and a size 1 so another thing I could relate to! And then there is your personality, you are someone I could be friends with, you are real, down to earth and you tell it like it is!!! you don’t pretend to be perfect and you let us all see the real you and let us know it’s okay for us to be who we are and that we don’t have to break the bank just to look our best!!! I look forward to what you have to say and what new outfit you have put together every day!!! so every outfit is my favorite for different reasons, I just think you are awesome

  32. I’m so glad I stumbled on your blog too. I’m a blogger myself but fashionista I am not! I do like to dress up when I run races if that counts for anything.
I’d say you have come a long way sista in a short time.
Keep up the great posts. I too can’t wait to see what God has in store for you 🙂

  33. So glad I found your blog! I have taken screen shots of several of your outfits to take to the store to replicate! You have introduced me to COLOR! ?? Congrats on one year; here’s to many more! ?

  34. Tania, you are the sweetest! And, yes…people need to sign up for your emails. You are funny, real, down to earth, and faithful. Plus, you have great taste! Happy Anniversary, Friend!!

  35. Happy Anniversary! I found you on Pinterest just looking for fashion styles. I was hooked by your Stripes-Nautical Influence post. I have been with you ever since. I start my morning with you post. Like so many others, I love your fashion style. I also like color in my fashion. I’ve always said you don’t have to spend a lot of money on your clothes in order to look your best. Finding your blog was like finding a fashion soul sister. But your blog is so much more to me than fashion. I look forward to your stories and your Sunday posts. I sometimes laugh out loud while I’m reading them and moved to tears by others. I may not leave comments, but I’m on this journey with you. You are an inspiration to me. Congrats, wishing you many more successful years.

  36. I have enjoyed your blog this past year. Love seeing your fashion choices. Being fifty myself, I ‘m not always sure what to wear and you make it easy. Wishing you the best for the next year!!!

  37. Loved seeing all of your beautiful pictures! Happy One Year Anniversary!

  38. Therese W says:

Congrats! You help me put new things together to wear to work, without buying! Thanks for that, and I like most everything, except for jeans with holes. Have spent too much time mending those over the years!

  39. Happy, happy first birthday to your blog! I ALWAYS love your style posts, but I think this is one of my favorite posts as it gives us some glimpses behind the scenes!

  40. Terri/Houston Lady says:

    Hi Tania,

Congratulations! I have been following your blog for a few months now. It’s hard for me to pick one favorite outfit of yours : ) Thanks for all your inspiration!!

  41. Congrats Tania – love reading your blog daily and getting ideas from your fashion pics!

  42. I love all your posts, but Sunday’s posts are the best. You have a great way of sharing your faith through your blog. I’m sure that’s why God has blessed it so. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

  43. I enjoy your blog, congratulations on your blog anniversary. Don’t remember how I found it. But after reading it I realize you are from Livingston, so am I. My daughter went to school with your son. Ha, small world.

  44. Tania, congratulations on one year of blogging. Quite an accomplishment. My fave post was your makeup tutorial. I look forward to your posts every morning. You have a great way with words which must be a genetic trait since your sister is a writer, as well. Here’s to many more years of posts!!

  45. Congratulations! One of my favorite posts you have done was “styling your hair”! I love your hair and even showed your you tube video to my stylist. Thank you for posting this! I love getting your daily emails telling me you’ve posted another blog.

  46. Congratulations on a successful first year! I’m really looking forward to seeing and reading what’s to come in the year ahead!

  47. Happy Anniversary Tania! I love how you include ‘us’ readers in your life, it’s the little details that are so interesting. Like your volunteering and women’s groups. I don’t think you’ve posted an outfit yet where I haven’t liked some detail about it.

Your love of colour has obviously transferred as I recently topped a black and white outfit with a dash of bright pink, something unusual for me.

Here’s to another year of blogging.

  48. Congrats on your 1 Year Anniversary!
It was only recently I discovered your Blog and now look forward to starting my day with a cup of coffee and inspiration from Tania! I also recently discovered your Make Up Tutorial … LOVED IT and learned a few things!
    All the best! “Z”

  49. Tania, I discovered your blog a few months ago and now look forward to it every morning. I now look at the clothing and accessories in my closet in a very different way, thanks to you. The tip about Old Navy RockStar jeans and Pixie pants was so helpful. Style & comfort. Who could ask for more? Favorite blog? Boho Style. I was however most impressed by a response to a reader after a rather harsh comment about your writing style. Your blog was new then. You were so gracious and kind in your response. I thought that said so much about the kind of person you are. I’ve been a fan since then.

  50. Glenda Braun says:

Congratulations to you. I just love your blog and I am so glad I found you. I don’t have time to follow a lot of blogs but yours is one I will stick with. Always start my day with you lol. Look forward to your Sunday one. Don’t stop it.

  51. Teia Baker says:

Tania I just found you a few months ago and I am HOOKED! I love the looks you put together and I’m inspired to raid my closet to duplicate the looks with things I already have. You are REAL and I love how you share your everyday life . . . something you can’t find in fashion magazines. Your Sunday posts are so inspiring and almost always hit me right where I am . . . how do you know? Happy First Anniversary and MANY MORE!

  52. Edit Jeremias says:

Congratulations! I think there are many more successful blogging years ahead of you. Your voice and style are unique and you are able to connect with woman in unpretentious ways.

  53. Happy Anniversary! My favorite post was your make up tutorial. I enjoy reading your posts daily!

  54. Congratulations! Favorite post – How to Keep Looking Your Best. Helpful tips and very classy outfit!

  55. HI Tania,
I think I came across your blog through Pinterest somehow. Your blog reminds me to put myself together, head to toe, each and every day, even if you’re just running to the store for milk. I have had people comment on how I look “put together” and how my outfits are nice and that, to me, makes my day! Thanks for your blog, your humor and your tips. I wish I lived near a QVC outlet because your sure seem to get great deals there!

  56. Happy First Anniversary Tania!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I was when I found your blog just a couple of months after you started! I’m still just as excited every day to see what you will be styling and what story you have to tell. Your Sunday posts are excellent and very inspiring – you definitely have a talent for writing! I think my favorite post is the one where you showed how to turn a large scarf into a vest. This is a brilliant technique and is much cheaper than buying actual vests. Plus the mix and match possibilities using a multi-colored scarf/vest are endless and can make a person’s wardrobe look much larger than it is. Thanks for the idea and thank you SO MUCH for your blog!!! Your a treasure for us middle-aged gurls! We need you!!!!

  57. My favorite post is your makeup routine. I loved this video and I printed it out and took it with me shopping. Thank you for sharing yourself. I look forward to reading your blog everyday.

  58. Cheryl Records says:

I’ve been following your blog for a few months, and it’s become a “must read” for me. Usually in the morning, but sometimes on a busy day I don’t get to read it until later, but I ALWAYS read it!! You make me laugh, cry, think, and try things that are out of my box. Thank you so much for taking the time to blog every day! Happy Blogiversary!!

  59. Happy blog Anniversary! What an amazing year it’s been for you! I found you through JoLynne and Cindi and love you. I love that you enjoy color so much and am trying to incorporate that into my style. :). I can’t say I have a true favorite…theyr’e all perfect!

  60. I honestly cannot pick my favorite post of yours! Your sassy humor and cute outfits are worth a smile each day. Your love of the Lord and His people are big pluses! I just adore you Tania and wish you Happy Blog birthday!!!!

  61. Congratulation on your anniversary! Ijust found your blog a month or so ago and I read it every single day!…one of these days when I have time I want to go back and read all your posts that I missed,…I love them all and don’t think I can pinpoint a favorite! I just turned 50 this year and I love your style!…..PS, your grandkids are adorable (don’t they make life so much better??)…and I definitely see the “grandma glow” in that pic!

  62. Happy Anniversary Tania. I love your blog and I look forward to seeing your outfits each day.

  63. Elizabeth Johnson says:

Hi Tanya! I love reading your blog through my email each morning with coffee! I too am over 50 looking to learn from you how to be brave and try to make my outfits go together with all the accessories! My favorite post is the one with a black shirt and very bright colors scarf and white pants ! Much love to you!

  64. Linda Dodds says:

Happy Anniversary to you! When I found your blog, I went back and read all your posts. I will be 56 on Sept. 15. I love your outfits as well as your thoughts and ideas. Looking forward to many more!

  65. Donna ainsworth says:

Congrats to you !! I have been reading for only about 4 months. You have become the first thing I do every morning with a cup of coffee. I discovered you through Pinterest! I lost my dear sweet momma in May and I was trying to poor my soul into anything that didn’t make me think about my loss. We are fellow Virginians and church goers. I was first attracted to the color of your hair! I am a natural strawberry blond and always wondered what it would be like to color my hair. You have inspired me to think about it!(even though all hair dressers tell me not too!!!) thank you so much for what you do! It’s a little bit of heaven each day for me. Congrats again on the first year!

  66. Congratulations Tania on your one year anniversary! That’s awesome! I’m so glad that I discovered your blog and can’t wait to read your posts! I love your honest, down to earth, southern writing style. You go, gurl!

  67. Happy Blog Anniversary, Tania!!! Yours is my favorite blog – I read it every morning before going to work and often create my outfit around yours. My favorite blog was when you showed how to make a scarf into a vest. I have a beautiful University of Kansas scarf that my mom gave me and virtually EVERY TIME I wear it as a vest, people ask about it and I have to take it off and show them how to make the scarf into the vest. So creative!! Love your style all the way around! You go gurl!!!!

  68. Love your blog, Tania! I just recently found you while searching through women’s over 50 fashion photos on Pinterest. I have been reading your current and past posts. I can’t decide which is my very favorite! The fashion photo that drew me to your blog was Jeans and Pearls. And, it’s still one of my favorites. Oh, and I love your hair! Thanks for posting on how you style it. Keep on posting! We’re reading and learning. ?

  69. Sandy Ladd-Russell says:

It’s been a great year! Thanks for showing us the real YOU! 🙂 Hope you continue for a long time.

  70. I just love your hair! You’re very good at mixing colors for a pleasing look. My first YouTube was about our trip to Fixer Upper’s Magnolia Market in January. Blogging is not for the faint of heart definitely! Congrats!

  71. Jan Riley says:

I found your blog on Pinterest a few months ago and it has had two impacts on my life. 1. I purged my closet and changed how I shop and how I dress for my 58 year old lifestyle. 2. It has inspired me to seriously consider blogging with my daughter about how God has called her and her husband to be foster parents. You are such an inspiration and I look forward to every blog post and this one is my favorite!

  72. Such a beautiful pic of you and your grandkids! I guess today’s blog is my favorite. Since I’m pretty new to your blog,it gives me a good idea of how it all started for you! I look forward to your blog each morning, especially on Sunday! Keep up the good work!!

  73. sharonfavre says:

I’m so glad I found your blog…..I really love it. First off when I tried to click the link to go to your fb page (I assume) it said the page was broken (or something like that….memory issues – ha). Needless to say, I did find you on fb via just through the regular way. I haven’t been following you for very long but I do enjoy seeing what you will be wearing each day. I’ve often thought about doing a blog – I’m incredibly thrifty and haven’t actually been to a mall in…..like….years! Thrift stores and resale shops for me but I follow blogs for my fashion ideas still.

  74. Deb Mussmann says:

I look forward to your posts every morning. It’s how I start my day. I especially like Sundays. I love everything you wear. Congratulations on your 1st year!

  75. Congrats! My fav post is always your next one. It’s like opening up a present. Have gotten so much inspiration from reading your blog. Thank You!

  76. I look forward to seeing your ‘outfits’ as well as reading your blog. . . it’s a good way to start my day – seeing your common sense application of color and how it adds that special ‘umpf’ to everyday fashion is inspiring.

  77. Congratulations to you!! I am 52 and I enjoy your blog so much!! I can relate to everything you share and it just brightens my day everyday! Thank you for sharing your outfits, your stories, your family and your sweet, fun life!

  78. Happy blog anniversary! You look fabulous ♥

  79. Congratulations! I am so impressed that in one year you have posted 362 times!! I can’t think of another blogger that I follow who could make that claim. I couldn’t pick one post or outfit as a favorite as I enjoy them all. I do appreciate that you are not afraid to wear color and that you can make any piece of clothing into a nice outfit. Thank you for starting my mornings off right.

  80. I love your blog!! I have gotten so many great styling ideas! I have pinned so many but my favorite is “A little spring in my step” you showed us how to make a vest out of a scarf!! I love your Sunday ones also! You are Inspirational!!

  81. Wow 1 year – Big congrats to you. I’ve been reading your blog for quite awhile. It’s hard to pick a favorite post, you have so many funny stories. Favorite outfits are probably the classic ones with a pop of color in accessories. Being grey haired and fair skinned I tend to wear more solid colors these days so yours always catch my eye. But do love your fun sense of style and have used ideas from you. Probably the most different addition for me this year has been ripped jeans!! Would never thought I (I’ll be 62 in a few months) would wear. Thanks to you styling them I now have them in shorts, capris and long jeans. Such a fun look. I, like so many others look forward to seeing what you are going to share each day. Be faithful in what you know to do and the Lord will see you thru. Love your Sunday posts too. Blessings to you and I look forward to what you’ll share next.

  82. Beverly Norris says:

Tanya, you started blogging on my birthday. I started following you a few months ago and I really enjoy the outfits. Keep them coming.

  83. Happy anniversary and congratulations !!! So excited for you. I love reading your blog everyday. So many good ideas and inspiration. So hard to choose a favorite but I loved the hair and makeup tutorials. I learned so much from them and tried several of the products you suggested and I love them all.

  84. Woo-hoo! Happy Anniversary! I just love your blog and your great sense of humor. I’ve only been a subscriber for a few months but I look forward to each and every post. You’ve successfully got me to think outside my “clothing” box you might say. I absolutely love how you put pieces together! I’ve never seemed to master this skill on my own, so I end up duplicating others. That’s where you come in!! You are AMAZING at this!! What used to be a dreadful experience (trying to find something to wear) now is fun! Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!!
P.S. I love ALL your posts! Lol!

  85. Rheana Corirossi says:

My favorite look was hard to choose but if I must it was
Wait till you see the rest of this top
The whole look from top to bottom yummy
    Congratulations on one year ???
    Keep’em coming

  86. Contratulations Tania! I have been following your blog for just about 6 months and I love your outfits and more importantly, your heart! Thanks –

  87. shoeprincezz says:

Ohhhh Happy Day for you Tanya! I enjoy reading your blog each day and trying to incorporate your “look” into mine for the next day. I print them out and and keep them in my wardrobe diary for ideas! I have watched your makeup tutorial and must confess I ordered most of the products you used to see if I could get the same results.

In an effort to get past all the political ranting these last few months, I daily post a pix of my shoes..its fun and I ask FB friends to post what their feet are doing that day too! Congrats and soak up your success!

  88. bellsonme says:

Congratulations, Tania! I got here via a Pinterest link, and stayed because of your sweet and funny style! I wish you many more fun and successful years of blogging!

  89. Patti Karshis says:

Hi Tania! I have been following you for about 3-4 months now. I think my favorite is “just wait til you see the rest of the top”. I loved that shirt and looked around for it all over the Internet!!
I am 54 and got diagnosed on July 12 with Breast Cancer. Your blog keeps me thinking about still looking stylish even when I don’t feel that way! It gives me a boost to use different pieces in my closet in new ways. I like that! Thanks

  90. Congrats Tania! Like the other ladies, I look forward every morning to reading your blog. You are an inspiration.

  91. KarenJones says:

I live your blog because you understand that some of us neither live near big department stores nor can afford them! I love your style! I LOVE that you enjoy color and different color combinations! You are not afraid to express your personality through fashion. It has taken me a while to get there but I am slowly learning.

I lost around 90 pounds over the course of the last few years and when you do that your body changes in big ways! I am so thankful for you and Cyndi Spivey for encouraging older women to look like ladies and enjoy the skin they are in! Both of you are helping me so much to be creative, use what looks good on my body type and not be afraid of my new body. Thank you, thank you, thank you! To God Be The Glory!!!

  92. Melanie W. says:

Congratulations on one full year!!! I know I’ve been reading you since last fall. I think I missed the first two months but I haven’t missed a post since. It’s the first thing I do every morning. 🙂

  93. Beverly Taylor-Price says:

Tania.. Congrats!! I found you 8 or 9 months ago on pinterest after I probably googled something like “stylish over 50”. Not sure, but can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to my closet and tried to copy one of your outfits! For that reason, I really can’t choose one particular post. You’ve inspired me to get out of my comfort zone! I’ve even watched your makeup tutorial and purchased a couple of new products that you suggested. Here’s to another great year of blogging!!

  94. Nancy Sudlow says:

Congrats! I found you about a month ago. I have enjoyed all the posts. I am trying a wardrobe capsule. I still have more clothes than I should. But I like seeing how you style with shoes and accessories. I am 61 and still trying to be in style! Blessings in the future. Love reading about your walk with the Lord!

  95. Tania, Love all your posts!! I read them daily, I have to many favorites to pick just one!!
Can’t wait to see what the future brings.

  96. donnanonnasgramma says:

Hi there Tania!! I just discovered you yesterday, so, either of these two day’s of blogging will work to be my favorite! Maybe yesterday’s as it’s what caused me to join through emails, or possibly today’s because I got to see so many more of your photos, family and stylin’ ideas! Congratulations on your first year!! Awesome! I am looking forward to more!

  97. Debbie Grissom says:

Congrats on your anniversary! I like the pink and yellow outfit the best. It’s so feminine . And I like the Just Wait Till You See the Rest of This Top. I love that top. But my favorite are your Sunday posts. As a fellow Christian, they always seem to talk directly to me.

  98. Congrats Tania! I think I found your blog shortly after you started but didn’t realize that until recently. Too many wonderful posts for me to pick a favorite. You are gorgeous, fun, inspiring, real and so easy to relate to. I loved the makeup and hair tutorials! I know I couldn’t put my face out there for thousands to see without makeup but you did and I love you for it. Your Sundays posts are inspiring, motivating and challenging. Keep it up Tania!!!!

  99. Doreen Bednarski says:

Happy Anniversary and Congratulations on your first year! We have spent this entire morning together, and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. This is how we spend every morning. Your’s is the first email I open as I have my coffee. I know most of your fans are the same. Today I went back to the first blog and looked through the early ones attempting to remember when it was I found you. I checked my Pinterest board and since nothing is in order there I’m not sure. Just glad I did find your blog. Since I’m fashion obsessed it could have been any one of your outfits. I’d say my favorite is kimono with fringe. I could not get that kimono out of my mind and searched until I found one as close as possible and duplicated the outfit. Thank you for all of the lessons on color, makeup, and hair. Love your openness and honesty. I especially like that your fashions are affordable, especially on this retiree’s budget. Continued success in all of your years to follow, you make my day! ????????

  100. Congratulations on your one year Anniversary! I found you thru Jo-Lynne Shane and Cyndi Spivery when you collaborated with them on a post. I read the first one and was hooked?. I love the navy top and scarf with white pants, yellow purse and shoes. A classic look with a twist. There are so many looks you’ve styled that I like. Like the others have said its hard to pick just one. You bring a smile to my day!

  101. Congratulations Tania! I can’t choose a favorite post because I love them all! I’ve had a tough year taking care of my husband as he battled cancer. Your blog has truly been a daily blessing for me. I look forward to reading it with my morning coffee and getting inspired to get myself together and back out into the world. Unfortunately I lost him last month and now I truly need the inspiration. Thank you again for the daily dose of sunshine!

  102. Congratulations!!! ?? So happy you made it to the one year mark. You’re such a beautiful lady and love all that you share! May the Lord continue to bless you in all you do. ?

  103. Jackie Davis says:

I just recently found your blog and it is my favorite! I feel like I have a new best friend. Love your style and all the details that you give. Congratulations!

  104. Heidi Mackey says:

Tanya congratulations! I look forward to opening up your blog every morning! You inspire me everyday!

  105. Kim Crosbie says:

Tania- you are successful because you have fun fashion that dares an older woman to step out of her black and white rut and most important you have something to say. Your stories are entertaining and your Sunday messages are inspiring. I have been impressed you can keep up with the daily blogs. Great job!

  106. Lisa Carroll says:

  109. Congratulations on this milestone. I really enjoy the blog. I think I have been inspired to add a little color to my life and maybe become a little daring, LOL!

  110. My favorite post has to be from Makeup Monday makeup geek. I found you on Pinterest while searching for makeup tips for 50 and over. I discovered your blog at a time of a self pity party as alot of life changing events have happened to me over the past two years. I left a comment a few days ago to let you know that you have inspired me so much. Congratulations on your one year anniversary! I believe you are correct to give the credit to our Lord. I know He is using you to reach people that without this blog you would never reach. Keep up the good work. 50 is not old, age is an attitude and my attitude is improving daily!

  111. Hey Tania-you are a blessing more than you know-your style and personality brought me back from drab to fab!! i also appreciate that you wear old things from your wardrobe-mixed in a new way!! love you-you are a blessing giving of yourself to others and in return ,being blessed by the Lord. I love your zany stories thanks for sharing them!! Joe is a lucky, lucky man!!

  112. Congratulations! I look forward to reading your blog every morning with my coffee. It’s a wonderful start to my day!

  113. I’ve pinned several of your outfits for ideas and I just bought my first fashion scarf because of you. I haven’t worn it yet, but I will soon. My favorite post has to be the recent one about how hard it is to pray out loud. We have small groups on Wednesday nights and our facilitator is always asking for volunteers to pray at the end and because of your post I thought, why not? And I volunteered to pray last week! I enjoy your blog, thank you!

  114. Congratulations Tania on your 1st anniversary! Like most others, I can’t pick a favorite post, I love them all! Love your wit and writing style and your fashion style! Although I am a bit older than you (64) you give me the courage to wear the colors and styles that make me happy, and from stores I can afford. Yours is my favorite blog and I look forward to reading it every morning, where others are hit or miss depending on my time. Here’s to many more years!

  115. Michelle M says:

Happy Blogaversary! I came across your blog over six months ago. It became one of my favorites to read everyday. My favorite post was the hair tutorial. We have similar cuts and it was helpful to see how you style your hair versus my way. It is not often that I love every blog post and outfit, but I do with yours! Every single time! Keep up the good work!

  116. Congratulations! Love starting my morning with your daily posts. {{hugs}}

  117. I love your casual blog with jeans. I love to dress up my jeans with jewlry and cute tops. You inspire me daily. Thanks for giving your time to spend it with us each day. I am friending you on Facebook as we seem to have a lot in common. (Except you are skinny!!) I will keep sharing you in Oklahoma!

  118. Pat Cloey says:

Tania, congrats on your one year anniversary! I follow your blog every day and always find inspiration in your Sunday posts. You are beautiful both inside and out! Wishing you nothing but success. 🙂

  121. Congratulations Tania! A memorable milestone for sure! Isn’t it amazing the paths our lives take? Some we start off on our own, other’s The Lord directs us there. So glad you keep Him in your posts, and are not afraid to share your faith in God! I really enjoy all the colorful fashion your present, it shows what a cheerful and full of life person you are! As they say, your Jesus light shines through you! Blessing for the next year!

  122. Lanita Anderson says:

Congratulations on your first anniversary! I just recently discovered your blog through Pinterest and have really enjoyed it! Because I am a “newcomer”, there aren’t many posts to choose from, but I really enjoyed the Orange & White one – the orange striped top with the crab and the white pants and fabulous shoes!! The reason it is my favorite is because orange and other shades in that color family look good on me and I tend to wear them quite a bit. I have so enjoyed your blog – your candidness, your sense of humor, your fashion style for us “gurls” 50 and over, and your faith in God. I look forward to another year ahead. Blessings to you…..

  123. Sandy Norris says:

Congratulations! You have done such a nice job. My favorite post is the pearls and jeans. I remember finding that picture on Pinterest and that’s when I started following you. That’s such a classic outfit, and the way I like to dress. I enjoy reading your posts daily. Keep up the good work!

  124. Barb Standridge says:

I think I’ve been with you since the beginning or very soon after too! I’m so very proud of you and what you have accomplished! I still think you need to make a shopping trip with your gurls to Pigeon Forge so we can meet in person!

  125. Tania, this is a hard decision to tell you which is my favorite post. Actually I love them all, your from Tennessee and so am I. You have your good days and bad days. You love to laugh but can be upset at the same time. It’s just nice reading about woman that act like woman and is not ashamed to put it out there. I love your hair tutorial, your blog with your husband and let’s don’t leave out your sister. You guys have fun together.
Happy Anniversary and keep up the good work.

  126. jennie1969 says:

Congratulations on your one year blogiversary, Tania!

  127. Congrats Tania! That is awesome! I enjoy your blog and look forward to my email every morning. I love your sense of style and you make me laugh 🙂 My favorite post is the Jeans and Pearls post. I am a jeans and pearls type of girl. Love seeing your pics/posts of your family and friends also.

  128. Congratulations! You’re the best!!

  129. Congratulations! Keep up the good work. Who is the 4th person you have listed. I’ve been unable to find her blog. Thanks!

  130. Congratulations Tania! Quite an achievement! I look forward to your post every morning for your fashion inspiration and life stories told with humour and honesty. I can’t remember how I found you but I was exasperated trying to find someone my age with a style I can relate to and I found that and much more. I’m sure it is a lot of work to keep this up but I appreciate what you do and celebrate your success. I can’t wait to see what you post next!

  131. Happy anniversary Tania! I have been following your blog for just a few months now. I read your post first thing each morning. I am unable to choose just one favorite! I do like how you incorporate affordable clothing into your your daily fashion. You make us all feel good!! Keep up the good work!!!

  132. Congratulations on your anniversary! I just recently found your blog when I read an online article listing the 5 best fashion blogs for women over 50. I love your style and writing and look forward to your next year of blogging.

  133. Happy 1 Year Blogiversary beautiful!! You are a delight and an inspiration and pretty as can be in all you style and in the words from your heart! Just adore your blog and you!!

  134. Happy anniversary Tania! I look for your posts first thing every morning. I have shared your blog with lots of friends and they enjoy it like I do. I love your look and you inspire me to put clothes together in ways I would not have thought of. I wish you continued success and will remain one of your fans!!

  135. Congratulations, Tania! I also read your blog first thing each morning. It’s too hard for me to pick a favorite as I so enjoy everything you write about. In addition to your wonderful fashion sense, your uplifting spirit and often hilarious stories keep me coming back. I tell anyone that will listen about your blog! Keep up the wonderful work – best wishes for many blogging years to come!

  136. Congratulations, Tania! I enjoy reading your posts, especially the inspirational Sunday posts. Hard to pick an all-time favorite outfit, but there is one that I duplicated and have enjoyed wearing many times this summer. It’s the one with the blue stripe linen pants from Old Navy. I bought them after your first post and paired them with a blue top with “wing” sleeves which is similar to the one you bought from Cato. Have a splendid day!

  137. I have been following your blog about 8 or 9 months now. I have so enjoyed each daily post. I have so many “favorites” that I am unable to choose just one. I do, however think you look just great in what you describe as the “boho” style. I really like the easy and casual feel of it. Just to tell you, we are the same age and I am a grandmother of seven. I can really relate to where you are in life! ? Your wit and style inspire me to dress (and be) a bit more fun, stylish and colorful! Congratulations on you accomplishment and may our Lord bless your efforts!

  138. Congratulations Tania!!!!! This is an exciting day for you. I honestly believe why your blog has been so successful this first year is because you include God. This world today needs more honesty, positivity, clean humor and you have all that and more in 7 days with Sunday’s blog being extra special from your heart. I just started subscribing to you around the middle of July so I have MANY favorites. I just turned 50 in August and I thoroughly enjoy your blog as in your first blog post you stated that you didn’t want your style to scream nursing home or hoochie mama (or something like that). You have inspired me to combine pieces together that I would have never thought of. I stated a comment on one of your posts that you needed to be a personal stylist so you can come to see me in NC first….LOL!!! Now, I see why you commented yesterday that I would like today’s post. I do not have social media so send me an email because I would like to comment something else personally….since this comment is so long. Enjoy your day. ~Lisa~

  139. Congratulations on your blog’s first anniversary! Your Sunday posts are my favorite. Your makeup video was also particularly helpful to me. The combination of affordable fashion and taking the time to share bits of your daily life keeps me coming back.

  140. Congratulations, Tania. You deserve to pat yourself on the back……you’ve come a long way baby. I remember how I found your blog. It was thorough JoLynne’s. I think you are a natural born writer. I like all of your posts. My favorite picture is the last one you posted today of you and Joe.. What a handsome couple. That green dress looked good on you. Here’s to another year.???

  141. Happy Anniversary all the way from West Yorkshire in the UK. Thank you for your delightful view on fashion and life. Sundays are my favourite read but your use of colour has taken me out of a dark and dull corner. My closet thanks you, my bank balance doesn’t. My DH also says to say Thank you. I look forward to lots more wonderful outfits and colour.

  142. What an accomplishment! Congrats! God is using you to spread the good news and encouraging us to be stylish!

You have definitely had an influence on my style. The post from Friday, June 24, 2016 made me step out of my comfort zone and try leggings with a LOGO sleeveless tank, something I never would have worn before. Since I’d lost a lot of weight, new clothes were in ordered, so I duplicated your look. Wow. Before long, I was off and running with the credit card to try new things. I thank you for that!

I look forward to reading your blog with my morning coffee to see how God uses you. Have a wonderful day. Your hard work to keep this running impacts many lives and for that, I am grateful.

  143. Congratulations Tania! Thank you for all the joy you have brought us, not only with your lovely outfits but by just being YOU! I love your sense of style, your sense of humour and your obvious love of life. I couldn’t choose a favourite post, they’re all my favourites! ?

  144. Hi Tania,

  145. Congretulations! What an achievement! Keep up the blogging work , it is so nice to read your posts!

  146. Happy anniversary I didn’t realise you had only been blogging for a year. It’s something I’m thinking about and thus has inspired me to be a bit more active in doing something to set one up. I can’t remember how I found you as I’m in England it must have been the over 50 in your blog title! I like how you put things together. I lover searching through charity shops – you call them thrift shops

    1. Please excuse the spelling in my previous post it’s predictive text amending my words. I’m using my phone to post – it’s a new phone.it’s top small for my aging fingers !!!

  147. Hi I am A young 56 and my daughter says I should wear pants with holes in them what do you think

    1. shoeprincezz says:

Wear the distressed jeans,….I am 60 and love them!

  148. Dear Tania, I came across to your blog only recently and it has immediately become my favourite day starter. I read it with a cup of coffee and it’s my daily routine that I look forward to already in my bed when I open my eyes. Not only I like your outfits, I also love the style of your writing and with English not being my native language, your blog is also helping me to improve my language knowledges.
Congratulations to your successful year of blogging. May there be many more to come. You are a star!
    Greetings from the Czech Republic.

  149. Hi Tanya! Huge congratulations to you! You did a great job!
I liked most “Black and Brown, Part 1” because according to my point of you it is a totally different color palette you usually wear and still suits you and it´s so feminine and ageless.
