WHAT WERE THE FAVORITE OUTFITS WORN IN MAY

What do you do when your sick, but you still need to work? You get in the recliner, lay back with a laptop propped up on your legs, and you piece together a post comprised of other posts. This is not what I had intended to post for today, but it is all that I could come up with. It is just weather-related sickness, so nothing major. But, I took some medicine to help with my headache and it made me queasy. If I sit up, I get sick, but as long as I am lying down, I am fine. So, enjoy today’s “favorites” post, and hopefully, I will be able to bring you a better post on Saturday.

Number 1.

How to wear jeans and a t-shirt (POST)

My cardigan looks gorgeous, but it is not expensive. The beautiful blue cardigan is lightweight and perfect for this spring. I love the baby blue color, and I love the relaxed fit of the cardigan. I am wearing a medium, and you can see that it is plenty roomy on me. This cardigan is a fine gauge knit with a ribbed hem and cuffs. It is rayon and polyester, and it is machine washable. The cardigan comes in a lot of other colors, including a bright pink that I think I am also going to order. Since the cardigan is less than 10.00, I believe that I’ll also order the red and pale pink ones too. LOL! HERE is the link to the sweater.

Number 2.

Looking elegant when wearing jeans (POST)

Gingham is one of my favorite prints, especially in the spring and summer. Maybe it is because it reminds me of going on a picnic, but there is something about this print that I love! When I found this black and ivory blazer in a linen and cotton blend, I knew that it was something that I wanted to style for all of you. I could see this blazer looking great with an all-white or an all-black outfit. The blazer would also look great when worn over a bright-colored top such as hot pink, red, or light blue. I was undecided on what size to order in the blazer since I sometimes wear a 10, and sometimes I wear a 12 when it comes to jackets and blazers. I ended up ordering a 10, but it is a little tight through the shoulders, so it will have to go back. HERE is the link to the gingham linen blazer.

Number 3.

Sneaker Dress (POST)

Where did I get this gorgeous dress??? This sneaker dress is from Chicos and it is pretty darn special. I love how it fits and how comfortable it is to wear. This is like a t-shirt dress, so it is soft and cozy, and you can wear this all day long without any discomfort. The side tie adds a lot of style and makes the dress look so flattering. I am wider through my waist since I am built like a ruler, straight up and down, but for those who actually have a figure, this would look awesome! I am wearing a size 1 in the dress, and I think that it fits me great. Joe gave this dress TWO thumbs up and said that it was a keeper for sure. HERE is the link to the dress.

Number 4.

All white outfit (POST)

Maybe wearing an all-white outfit wouldn’t be the best choice for a Memorial Day cookout, but I love wearing all white in the summer. It is clean, crisp, and cool, which is a great thing when the hot summer sun starts beating down on you. While I love wearing all white, I also love adding just a tiny bit of color to the outfit with a cardigan or a blazer. This linen blazer is a gorgeous shade of blue, and linen is also a fabric that is great for summer.

This blazer is soooo nice. I loved the way that it looked on me, but I ordered a size too small. I ordered a size 10, and I am never sure if I will wear a 10 or a 12 when it comes to blazers. Obviously, with Talbots, I need to remember to order a 12 from now on. This blazer also comes in pretty pink color. HERE is the link to the blazer.

Number 5.

Everyday look (POST)

I love wearing pink, and it goes great with my skin tone, so I wanted to wear something that would brighten my face and help me look years younger than my 60 years.

This hot pink duster (HERE) from Walmart was just the item that I was looking for. I wore this sweater (HERE) with distressed jeans, but that day was a loungewear kind of day. The sweater instantly perked up an otherwise drab outfit and made me feel like celebrating. I am wearing a medium in this long duster, but I noticed that the sizes are almost sold out in pink. The blue and the white would also be great options and open up lots of different ways for you to wear the sweater.

Number 6.

Affordable and high-end (POST)

The Essie tank top from Lilly Pulitzer is drop-dead gorgeous! For a color-loving girl, this tank top is da bomb! Here is the funny thing, I’ve never been a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer because I felt like a lot of the clothing looks the same. This is probably my first Lilly top, and I am trying hard not to be hooked. But, honestly, I love everything about this top, and I know that it is not going to be my last purchase.

The top is a size medium, and since this was my first time ordering with them, I was scared that it would be too small. Instead, it fits like someone came to the house and measured me while I was asleep. I love all of the colors, and I can’t wait to wear this with white crops or shorts this summer. I am getting excited just thinking about it. Lol! HERE is the link to this top, and I’ll link a few more that I am eyeing, and some of them might already be at my house. LOL!

Number 7 & 8.

First off, this dress (here) is one of the most flattering dresses that I’ve ever bought. I am in love with this print!!! The gorgeous colors remind me of a beautiful Peacock with its feathers all spread wide-open. And, like a Peacock, I feel like strutting when I put on this dress. ? This dress had a fun and flirty detail, the flutter sleeve. The flutter sleeve is so cute, but it is also flattering. It creates visual interest, and it doesn’t fit tight against your arm, which helps to make your arm appear thinner. BTW, I am wearing a medium in the dress.

I added these metallic platform sandals (here) to give me extra height. A wedge is the most comfortable way to wear heels. It helps to support your foot for the entire length of the shoe, making you feel more stable. The footbed in this shoe is very comfortable, and the wide straps keep your foot from moving around. These will be your go-to shoes for this spring. You will wear them with dresses, crops, shorts, and especially those extra-long flare jeans.

No 6 with the cute top and jeans for casual and no 6 the light blue dress for church. Hope your headache got better. Sorry about that. I’ve had it too. ?

  2. My favorite is 7&8. The dress. I loved it so much I bought it and I don’t have anywhere to wear it! Ha! Ha! Well hopefully things change and we’ll get to go out again soon!
    Hope you’re feeling better.

  3. Hope you feel better soon! ??. My favorite is the Lilly but is it okay to love them all? ??

  4. I’ve noticed that all of these posts feature some shade of blue — gorgeous, gorgeous shades of blue! My favorite is the Lilly Pulitzer top with jeans, but they are all great!

WARNING -You might want to stop suggesting ordering from Walmart. I ordered the very cute Scoops dress and it did not fit. I tried to return it to the store and they will not take back any clothing item and they told me the store will not honor any returns on line for clothing…DUE TO THE COVID MESS! What a rip off -so now I have a dress hat will go directly to the donate pile, tags on.

    1. Penny, I think that you’ve been misinformed. The stores are not taking returns in the stores for a lot of items, but you can return them online. I returned several items that I had ordered that didn’t fit me last week. You just have to enter your order number, and then check which items you are returning.

  6. I love number 6 so much that I ordered it for myself, so…!

    1. I love that one also!!!

  7. Love #6 but with the light blue cardigan. Absolutely love those colors. Hope you are feeling a little better by now.

Also, I would love to see more shorts outfits. In South Texas it’s too hot to wear jeans during the days.

    1. I have another shorts outfit on the blog tomorrow.
