Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline and bright red pumps This is what 60 looks like!!! I have to admit that when I was in my 40s, I would have thought that 60 was OLD. I mean, the kind of old where you are wearing a shawl around your shoulders and sitting around knitting an afghan while wondering where you put your teeth. I thought that life was over by that age and all that you had to look forward to was spoiling your grandchildren. No more parties or traveling, no wearing bathing suits or even getting in a swimming pool, no more sex (that was a picture that I didn’t want in my head), basically, no more fun. ?
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline from Eliza J and bright red pumps I hope that gave all of you a chuckle because we now know that is no where near the truth. Yes, I have jello arms (thanks Emersyn), and age spots (thanks to tanning in my younger years), but, I also love traveling, swimming (with a bathing suit on), and spoiling my grandchildren. It looks like I was at least right about the spoiling the grandchildren part. I look forward to the next 60 years (hey, longevity runs in my family) and I can’t wait to see what twists and turns lies ahead. Raise your glass…life is good!!!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline You knew that I was going to dress up for my birthday! I decided that the evening gown that I had picked out might have been a little over the top, so I settled on my favorite style for a dress instead. I love sheath dresses because they flatter my shape, or I probably should say, my LACK of a shape. I am built like a ruler, and I am straight up and down with no real curves. So, to create curves visually, I rely on blazers and cardigans (HERE), or items that create an illusion (HERE) of a waist. A sheath dress is a slim cut dress that is still loose enough to hide many of your flaws. It fits tighter under your chest and then falls straight down. This style dress looks good on most body types including those like me, those who are bigger on the top, and those who are bigger on the bottom. It is the closest thing to being a universally flattering dress that there is.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline and silver jewelry from Kendra Scott I kept my jewelry simple today since the ruffled neckline of the dress was the star of the show. My AVI silver hoop earring has been a favorite of mine since I bought them at the end of last year. These hoops are large, and they make a big statement. I loved them so much that I bought them in gold also. Lol! Kendra Scott is having a buy one pair of earrings and get another pair 40% off today. Of course, like all stores, the lesser priced item will be the one that gets the 40% taken off. However, if you buy two of these, you are going to save right at 40.00. Isn’t that how we tell our husbands, what we save and not what we spent? Lol!!! You can also see the dainty Rue cuff bracelet that I wear a lot. It is easy to slip on and take off, and it adds just a tiny bit of elegance to every outfit. HERE is the link to the bracelet.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline and bright red pumps How about adding a pop of color to this outfit? Sometimes I feel like adding a “POP” and other times I like keeping things neutral. I debated wearing navy shoes, white shoes, or neutral colored shoes, but in the end, the red won my heart. It might be time for me to embrace the sassy side of my life. These red pumps are by Michael Kors, and I’ve owned them for a long time. This red color is sold out, but a gorgeous bright pink color is available and they are on sale for 63.00! Those would sure add a POP to any outfit. HERE is the link to those, plus I’ll link a few other red pumps below.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped neckline and bright red pumps Finally, my dress!!! It is an Eliza J dress, and I am a huge fan of Eliza J. I am wearing my usual size 12 in this dress, and it fits me like a dream. HERE is the link to this dress. Here is a dress that I wore to Cancun from ELiza J. that I LOVED, and here is a striped one that I think might have gone with me there also. I love the deep navy color of this dress, but it is the blue and white striped ruffle neckline that pushed me over the edge. Joe is not a fan of the ruffle neckline, but he is CRAZY! This is such a flattering neckline, and he can just get over it because I am wearing it anyway. I took a hot pink dress (HERE) like this with us to Cancun, and after he rolled his eyes and told me that he hated the dress, I ended up changing. BUT, I wish that I had worn the pink dress because I love it, and I feel pretty when I wear it, so there…Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is celebrating turning 60 with a navy sheath dress with a striped ruffled neckline and red pumps

Happy #60 Tania! You look stunning. Isn’t it funny the preconceived notions we have about aging? I think in my younger days I would have been shocked to learn that as a 60 yr old Nana I’d be wearing skinny jeans, heals & denim jackets, We won’t even mention the s—. She couldn’t have handled it. LOL.
Love the dress. I’m a fan of Eliza J. I own the Cancun version except mine is navy with bright coral trim. It’s a stunning color combo. This ruffle neck is tempting me because it’s not too ruffled. You make me laugh with the ironing board comment, I’m pretty much the same way. You’ve mentioned it before and lately I’ve been thinking, “yep, Tania nailed it – ironing board it is.” Have a great birthday week.

Happy Birthday ?, if this is what 60 looks like sign me up!? Birthday’s have always just been just another day to me, nothing special. The one birthday that was truly special though was the year I turned 30. I had suffered a miscarriage earlier in the year and I was going through a very dark period. I had been feeling very sick for a couple of weeks and my husband suggested that I take a pregnancy test. The test was positive. That birthday brought hope back into my life and eight months later a beautiful baby girl.

Happy birthday week! My mama always made my birthday parties amazing, but the one that I most remember was when my grandmother made a six hour trip to play a gypsy fortune teller. She wore a silk, layered, brightly colored dress with tons of bracelets on her arms and legs. Grandma had done some stage work and was very theatrical as she read the crystal ball and tarot cards (saying all good things). When granny was growing up, a Gypsy family lived on her father’s land for a few weeks each year so she had learned enough to seem authentic to us. Hey She had a very real looking parrot on her shoulder who “talked”
to all the children! Watching her spin, dance, and clap her hands was so magical that all the children and parents joined right in. We spun around clapping and laughing until we fell down ?

  28. First of all I want to say you are a beautiful soul inside and out and I look forward to reading your blog every day. My favorite birthday was when my husband had our twin two year olds make a cake for me and video taped the entire process. The cracked the eggs, mixed the batter, sprayed the pans iced and filled the layers….it was a amazing….and priceless. Our girls are an ongoing gift and I mean that in many levels of the word “gift”. We lost twin boys two years prior and almost lost my life during delivery. Two years later my sister gave us the opportunity to try again and carried our beautiful girls. Am thank God every day for helping us through That painful time and for the gift of my sisters selflessness.

We are olde parents on paper…but what I love about my age is I never really think about it. When I am with younger people I feel their age and when I am with older people I fit right in. I never really consider my age until I am filling out an online form and have to spin the thing several times to get to 1966!

Thank you for your daily inspiration!

I turned 51 in March, during quarantine too. It was just me and my son. I baked myself a cake and a wonderful dinner. Had many phone calls and many great messages. But a memorable one was turning 50. My boyfriend took me on a cruise to Havana, Cuba. That was a blast! A little Cuban rum and maybe a cigar was involved!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Tania! Like the other ladies, I hope I look half as good as you at 60, beautiful and confident!

My most memorable birthday was spent on vacation at Myrtle Beach a few years ago. As a surprise, my husband arranged for me to have a massage by the hotel pool. However, a storm came through the night before and destroyed the poor lady’s massage table! He treated me to a wonderful mani/pedi instead so it worked out beautifully. I don’t visit the nail salon very often so it was a treat.

It makes me feel a little sad that I couldn’t come up with many birthday memories that stood out. I’m so busy with work and responsibilities that events and special days have passed by me without a lot of thought. I’ll have to remedy that!

My dear friend and i still remember that party as hers was the other epic one that year. She and her twin had a magician at theirs.

There was the surprise party my sweetie threw for me one year after years of me surprising him. Most people thought it was my 40th (it wasn’t but we didn’t correct them – I think it was 43).

My best birthday was two years ago when my older daughter put together a birthday party for me, complete with fun decorations, flowers, and my closest friends and family. What made it extra special was that my daughter hadn’t been home for my birthday in four years because she was in college. I love having my girl back!

Happy birthday Tania! ? No worries about the age, no one would ever guess you are 60! You look fabulous and I’m especially impressed (jealous) that you still wear amazing heels ? My husband threw me a 29 3/4 surprise birthday party. It was in October and my birthday is in December. I had no idea the party was for me when everyone yelled “surprise” ?

One of my favorite birthday memories was when I turned 40 (25 years ago!). One of our daughters was a jr. high cheerleader and there was a football game on my birthday. As we sat in the stands at halftime the cheerleaders came out with a banner wishing me Happy Birthday. And then I was taken to a surprise birthday party that my husband and friends had planned. It was wonderful!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Love your thoughts today about turning 60 and you’re right: you’re NOT old! Love the dress on you….you look beautiful! And I also love your haircut/style…..can you tell me what it’s called (shag, bob, ha – you can tell I don’t know which is which)! It’s adorable on you and super flattering! Have a very blessed day and year!
My favorite memory (and maybe because it’s the most recent!) was last year (I turned 53); I got to spend it with my husband, and one of my sons, but I was traveling and got to spend it on the beach in So Cal! One of my favorite things…..

Happy Birthday! I always said that I wanted to mature gracefully and you, my dear are definitely doing that!
I didn’t really put much care into celebrating my birthday until a few years ago when my sister almost died from an error made during a simple procedure she was having. After that, birthdays meant so much more to me. It was a mental reminder to take a moment and recall the past year and be appreciative and thankful that you were given another year of life. So hey, the more birthdays, the more memories and the more life we have to reflect upon!

Happy Birthday, Tania!!! We’re not big birthday people either, but last year for my 60th birthday my family rented a cabin about 3 hours from our house and all of us spent a weekend together there. It was a blast, and my favorite birthday in a long, long time, probably ever. I would love to win that Lash Boost; I have short, practically nonexistent eyelashes but that price point is a little too much for me.

The first when I was about 7, my brother was in college and he bought me a tee shirt from Western KY university. I have always looked up to him and I thought I was so cool in my college shirt. Then about 10 years ago my two boys surprised me with a beagle puppy on my birthday.
