The Best Blog Posts From 2024 For Women Over 50
It is that time of the year when we look back and see what happened in the last 12 months. Many of you are celebrating new additions to the family, jobs, or habits that have made a difference in your life. Others are thrilled to see 2024 leave and are looking forward to a new beginning in 2025. There are many personal things in my life that have happened for the better in 2024, and some I’m not as thrilled about. I think that is pretty much how life is for most of us. As a blogger, I also take this time to look at my analytics and see what posts were my most loved. I’m sharing my Best Blog Posts From 2024 since I have many new readers who might have missed some of these.
I would appreciate it if you took the time to look over these posts and give me feedback. For example, if you found the post helpful or inspirational. Also, if you purchased from them and liked the item, please let everyone know. Everyone loves reading comments from others, and I love seeing the interaction.
I’m sharing one photo from each post, but there are many more outfits in the post, so be sure to click on the title to be taken to the post. I’m sorry that some items might be sold out, and I’ve tried to link to similar items if possible.
Rules For Wearing Leggings For Women Over 50
This is my #1 post!!! It blows all of the others out of the water, and I’m honestly not that surprised. I wear leggings when working around the house because they are so comfortable.

Black leggings are a staple in my wardrobe. They are comfortable and practical and can be dressed up or down depending on where you are going. I know that the topic of wearing leggings out of the house can be a bit controversial, but today, I’m here to show you how to look fabulous doing it! I’m also sharing my favorite places to buy leggings, including faux leather leggings, and how I style them.
2024 Fall Shoe Trends I’m Loving
You might notice that “shoes” are an item we all love. Five out of the top ten most loved posts are shoes. Woah! That was a surprise for me, so it looks like I need to be doing even more shoe posts.

I highlighted several types of shoes in this post. One of my favorites is loafers, and this pair is one I wore a lot this fall. Platform loafers are a fun twist on the classic loafer, adding a little extra height with a chunky sole. They combine the sophistication of traditional loafers with a bit of modern flair, making them perfect for dressing up or down. I did not think I would like the look, but that shows you what I know because I actually love them. #trynewthings
My Favorite Vionic Shoes To Wear Now
I have been a huge fan of Vionic footwear for years, and apparently, so do y’all! If you have any sort of foot issue, chances are that you’ve already heard of them.

This sneaker is all about maximum comfort with a stylish twist! Walking the dog, heading to a casual lunch, or running to the store, these shoes have you covered. The arch support makes it a great choice for those of us dealing with foot pain like plantar fasciitis or heel pain. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors, so you can match it to your personal preference! Comfortable shoes that are still cute? Sign me up!
The 8 Best Fall Boots Every Woman Over 50 Needs in Her Closet
When fall and winter roll around, boots are my shoe of choice. I love ankle and knee boots and all types of styles, including riding boots, wedges, and chunky heels. With these eight styles, everyone should be able to find something that works for them.

If you don’t already own a pair of ankle boots, let me tell you—this is the one boot every woman over 50 should have in her closet. I’m a big fan of a classic leather or suede ankle boot with a low to mid-heel. They’re just the right amount of dressy without feeling too fussy. When shopping for ankle boots, look for features like side zippers or elastic panels—they make it so much easier to slip them on and off. I also recommend sticking to neutral colors like black, tan, or taupe because they go with everything!
The Best Holiday Dresses for Women Over 50
Finding the perfect dress as women over 50 shouldn’t feel like a chore. I’ve rounded up some fabulous options in this post from brands we know and love, such as Talbots, Chico’s, J.Crew Factory, Amazon, and more.

Okay, this technically isn’t a holiday dress, but it still gives the same vibe. There are times I like a “one and done” look, and other times I want the versatility of two pieces. It’s up to you to decide which works best for you, and you can’t go wrong either way.
The Best Crossbody Bags You’re Sure To Love
Crossbody bags are versatile and have quickly become a fan favorite. I love using them when shopping since they will hold my essentials and leave my hands free. I also use them when traveling, and I like this one since it has several compartments.

The Italian Leather Triple Compartment Crossbody is my favorite crossbody. I tend to carry brown handbags with a casual outfit and black when wearing something dressier. One thing I like about this bag is that it has an additional handle. You can switch out the crossbody strap for the short handle and carry it like I am in the photo above.
The Best New Balance Sneakers for Women Over 50
Finding the perfect pair of shoes that are both cute and provide comfort can be a real challenge, especially for those of us who want to stay active and still look great. New Balance has some fantastic options that will keep your feet happy and your outfit on point. I’ve done my best to find the top picks for New Balance sneakers for women over 50 in this post.

I love the New Balance Cross Trainers. You tie them, but after that, they can be pulled on. I like anything that’s easy on and off. My foot is on the narrow side, so they pucker a little bit if I try to tie them too tightly. I’m fine with that, though. I did size down a 1/2 size, and they fit great.
Wearing Wide-Leg Jeans When You’re Over 50
I’ve gotten several emails from ladies asking if women over 50 can wear wide-leg jeans. One lady mentioned that a co-worker commented that she dressed too modern and trendy and was trying to look like a teenager. Excuse me; I’m wearing wide-leg jeans, and I’m over 50. Who decided that only younger women were in the market to look modern? That is a bunch of bull hockey, and this post will prove it.

These MOTHER wide-leg jeans in size 29 are quickly becoming my new favorite. They’ve got this awesome retro 70s vibe with the high-rise waist and wide legs that make them super flattering. The denim is soft and has just the right amount of stretch, so they’re comfortable to wear all day. The mid-blue wash is easy to style, whether I’m going for a laid-back look or dressing them up with a blouse.
15 Fashions Women Over 50 Need In Their Closet
As a woman over 50, I know how important it is to have a wardrobe that is both comfortable and stylish. We all have our style, but there are a few classic fashions women over 50 need to consider having in their closets. These pieces are classics, you can wear them for a long time.

Jeans are a wardrobe staple that every woman over 50 should have. It’s important to find a pair that fits well and flatters your figure, as this will make them a go-to item in your wardrobe. You could wear your jeans with a sweater and a pair of boots for a casual look or dress them up with a blouse, a belt, and a pair of heels for a night out.

Verse Of The Day
Galatians 4:4-5 (NIV)
4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Happy New Year to you and your family! Thanks for all the wonderful posts throughout the year.
It’s so funny that the leggings post is number one. I taught High school for 34 years. I remember my principal standing up in front of the students, discussing dress code and saying “leggings are under garments, they are not pants.” I still agree. I most often see women out in leggings and my immediate thought is “hail damage”, a comment my husband made after seeing an unfortunate fashion disaster when we were shopping. I just can’t wrap my brain around wearing them out of the house. Lol!
Those jeans look amazing on you.
I just found my new jeans on this blog. Ordered the spanx jeans. Where have you been all my over 50 years
Yay!!! Those jeans fit and feel amazing. I’m just letting you know that they fit snug, but they are supposed to.
I was really surprised that the shoes were #1 I love all your post! Especially Sunday. I guess I’m the black sheep of the bunch I work and wear a lot of sweaters and slacks. I love all the Talbots post because that’s my favorite store. I also purchase skirts and outfits for church. However I love everything you do and love your blog! I will be purging my closet soon and love ideas on organizing for the New Year. Also interested in a Healthy diet and recipes Thank you so much!
I bought the Clark’s leather loafers. Probably the most comfortable shoe I bought this year. I probably wouldn’t have bought them without your recommendation.
I’m so glad you liked them too!
I loved everything you did this year. It was all very helpful. Some things I would have never thought of.
Tania, I love your blog and look forward to it daily! I have purchased A LOT of things you have shown! I especially love your Sunday posts🙏🏻 The photo of the tunic and leggings is one of my all time favorites! I hope you had a Merry Christmas ❤️🎄❤️
My favorite is the post about leggings–I did read it again and benefitted from it again! I like how they look when they’re accessorized as you described and worn with appropriate tops. I definitely agree that you can make them look fashionable (and not frumpy, dumpy) with just a tiny bit of effort. Thank you for all the posts and info that you share with us!
I Love ❤️ snow 🌨️ when it first comes down it’s so white and pure! When I was younger we would always do Snow Angels 😇 in the snow and would have no problems of being in the snow at all. It was our fun time!!!! 😜 I crinch everytime that I see snow dirty and slushy. I Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ All of your Blog Posts and all of the Products that you promote!!!! Thank You also, for your Sunday Scriptures 😊 and the Sunday Winner of the Gift Card. I know that there will be more great Blog Posts all year long in 2025 to come!!!! Have a Happy 😊 Healthy New Year.
As a well over 50 reader (73), I use your posts to make sure that I am not looking like I’m trying to hard!! I love the way you give so many choices in prices since there are some of us on very limited budgets. Looking forward to what you have in store for us next year.
I’m with you I love snow but not the cold. I can see why post one generated so much interest. Such a great outfit. I’m going to order the 3 pack of leggings and will update later once I get them. All of your post are great. I always find something if interest. Love your daily devotions!
This was a fun and informative post
You sure help make shopping fun and most of all easy
Thanks Tania
I’m thrilled you liked them!
Wow, you did have a lot of posts about shoes. LOL! I guess it makes sense, though, as footwear that is both comfortable and stylish can be tricky to find. Anyhow, my favorite posts are the ones like “15 items you need in your closet”. I may not get the exact items you list, but I get my “equivalent” or “interpretation” of your choices. Like the classic LBD, of which I own zero. I have a LBrD (little brown dress) instead. Your lists help me ensure I have all the necessary foundational items in my wardrobe.
Finding ways to make my picks and posts your own is a great way to enjoy the blog.
I Love all your post and look forward to them everyday but my Favorites are your Sunday posts! So Thankful you Honor God! I also enjoy your Family stories! Thank you for all your work that you put in each post! Praying for you and your Family this New Year!
Looking back over the past year to see what posts generated the most interest is indeed interesting!
I was surprised to see the shoes seemed to be the most popular!
I have to say that I love the 3-pack high waisted leggings! Comfiest leggings I have ever worn!
Those are the ones I wear the most! They are thin and so soft!
I enjoy all your posts especially the scripture for each day. I have made lots of purchases from posts 🙆♀️ I really look forward to your Sunday. Thank you
I love your Sunday posts best, but your honest reviews of many products at various price points is very much appreciated. I love hearing about your family, too.
Loved your opening picture on your post
Always look forward to your blog every morning! Love your mix of the classics and what’s trending too. If I buy a fashion that I feel is not going to be around for long I try not to spend much money on that item. It’s always fun to read the comments too. You do a great job with your blog and I’m sure it’s a lot of work. Thanks for all the hard work!!
I enjoy almost all your posts!!! You’re one of my favorites. I love fashion makeup and hair products.
My favorite outfit in this post is the first one with the gray tunic and gray knee high boots. I love it and it is so flattering on you. Your legs look like they are a mile long!!
I love all of your posts, they are so helpful and informative! I especially love the leggings, shoe trends, and best crossbody bags posts from above.
I’m glad you enjoyed them.
That snow blower looks great!
Love all your posts!
I especially like the posts about the crossbody bags and the one about leggings! The others are not helpful to me. Shoes are a problem for me because of orthotics I have to use, and boots don’t fit me at all and of course, living in Florida, I don’t really need them!!!
Lots of great posts this year!
I think you do an awesome job, what I like best is your honest review of products you are showing us. That’s what I appreciate most.
Being 71, your leggings styling types of posts appeal to me most. Your ideas and suggestions are so welcome. Thanks for your hard work. Happy New Year!
