Finding the perfect pair of shoes that are both cute and provide comfort can be a real challenge, especially for those of us who want to stay active and still look great. Whether you’re taking a walk, running errands, or just hanging out, New Balance has some fantastic options that will keep your feet happy and your outfit on point. I’ve done my best to find the top picks for New Balance sneakers for women over 50.

But can we have a real chat first? It doesn’t matter how cute your shoes look if they cause you discomfort or blisters! With all the specific foot conditions out there, like flat feet, narrow feet, high arches, or something more clinical, a bunion or plantar fasciitis, finding a comfortable fit is a top priority. New Balance offers variable widths and a wide toe box, making them a top choice for your wardrobe and the health of your feet. Let’s dive into why these shoes are a must-have and how they can make your life a little easier and a lot more stylish!

Tania Stephens is wearing black joggers and New Balance 327 sneakers

I love sneakers, but all sneakers don’t love me. Last year, I wanted to try these New Balance 327 sneakers so badly, but they kept selling out before I could grab them. Finally, I ordered a pair and waited impatiently for them to arrive. However, I was sadly disappointed because they didn’t fit me very well.

I ordered two different sizes in hopes that one of them would fit. The issue wasn’t the length; it was the width in the toe box. When I tightened the laces to try to correct the problem, it made the shoes “pucker.” I’ve never been so sad to send back a pair of shoes. The moral of the story is that what works for some might not work for everyone.

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Lifestyle

Tan and white are on trend in a HUGE way. These shoes are a classic for a reason: suede; need I say more? They’ve got a cool, retro style that goes with just about anything in your wardrobe. Plus, the plush cushion sole makes them a super comfy shoe for all-day wear.

These are considered “lifestyle” sneakers – perfect for running errands or a casual day out. With their durable build, they’ll last you a long time. If you don’t love this combo, no worries. There are a variety of colors to match your personal style.

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Running

I’m one of those people who, if you ever see me running – look for the bear chasing me! But for those of you who still hit the streets/trails/treadmills, these are the shoes for you. The Fresh Foam’s excellent cushioning keeps your feet feeling great.

They also have a sleek, modern design that looks great with both workout gear and casual outfits. Plus, the breathable mesh upper material keeps your feet cool and comfy all day long!

These shoes are perfect if you love a sporty, energetic vibe. The FuelCell technology gives you a springy, responsive feel, making them great for workouts or a walking shoe. They’re lightweight and breathable, which is seriously important on these hot days. Plus, their colorful design means you’ll look stylish, and you’ll have no trouble finding them in your closet, lol!

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Hiking

Now, let’s talk about the New Balance Minimus Trail shoes! They just look bad to the bone! These are an excellent choice if you love hitting the trails and enjoying the great outdoors. They offer a minimalist design that gives you a natural feel while still providing great arch support and stability.

The rugged soles grip all kinds of terrain, a big plus at our age. If you’re looking for a good hiking shoe but don’t love the color combo, there’s another option at the link. Spoiler alert- it’s got purple on it!

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Tennis

According to my sister, who is obsessed with tennis, tennis shoes are hard to find! I know that sounds odd, but she says most are running or cross-trainers. It’s hard to find true tennis shoes. Well, here you go!

These are perfect if you love playing tennis or just want a sporty, stylish look. They have a durable rubber sole that provides great traction on the court, something cross-trainers don’t.

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Pickleball

Where are my pickleball gurls!? These are very sharp. I don’t play pickleball, but I’d be totally intimidated if you walked on the court in these. Ha! One of the features says the FuelCell foam delivers a “propulsive feel to help drive you forward.” Hey, I could use these for walking through the mall! Another nice feature is the non-mark outsole so that you don’t leave any spots on the court.

The Best New Balance Trainers

If you don’t know what shoes to wear, a trainer is a good option. Trainer shoes are good for a variety of workouts, including gym sessions, aerobics, and light running. They are a great all-in-one option for different types of exercises. Plus, the slip-on style with stretchy laces means these New Balance shoes are super easy to put on and take off, making them a convenient choice for busy days!

The Best New Balance Sneakers for Golf

You know I love a good leather golf shoe. Every now and then, I hit the links with Joe. I can’t swing a club, but I can look good! These are perfect for hitting the golf course in style. The rubber outsole provides excellent traction on the green, meaning you will stay stable during your swing or at least look good while you whiff the ball. They are also available in two other really cute color combos.

The Best New Balance Sandals

Okay, so these aren’t actually sneakers, lol. But when I was looking at the site, I couldn’t pass these by! A good flip-flop is a must-have during the summer. These have a moldable footbed, so they will conform to your feet and provide extra cushioning. That sounds amazing, but they had me at the beautiful metallic gold. Guess what? They also come in silver!

The very best all round shoe for people like me…on a walker and unable to keep balance well with bad feet is the HOKA BONDI *!!! Give them a try!! You will never regrett the purchase!!! 18. I’ve loved New Balance shoes for ages, especially for running. I bought a new pair recently to take on vacation for walking and moderate hiking. Perfect out of the box and no blisters.

  19. Most of the sneakers I see these days are a little too chunky looking for my little feet. So I usually try to get something more like a Keds Double Decker. I know they are not for anything other than day wear but it has always been a favorite of mine.

  20. Ginger Hiller says:

I do like it when you deep dive into a particular brand. My feet are the happiest in Asics and Ryka because of their good arch support and I can get them in a more narrow fit. Ryka sneakers are made for women.

  21. I have never been a tennis shoe girl. I have bird legs and knotty knees….truth! I think I look like I have large cement blocks on my feet, at the end of these stick legs. The flip flops definitely interest me.

  22. My walking sneakers are Oofoos. they mold to your foot and are light weight and very comfortable. I also like Allbird sneakers. My next pair might be Skechers slip on. I like the idea of a full shoe that I don’t have to tie.

Thank you for being so real and inspiring to all!

  25. I love New Balance. I’ve never been disappointed with their shoes.
