Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is showing us how to take a white t-shirt and bootcut jeans and make them look extraordinary by adding a rainbow colored blazerI live in Virginia, but a lot of my family lives in other states, so we have been practicing social-distancing for a long time. My mother lives in Tennessee, my sister lives in Georgia, and my daughter is back living in Alaska. This weekend, my daughter decided to do a group call with the four of us on Snapchat. She called each of us, and as we answered the call, we were all added to the phone chat group. Don’t you just love technology?
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt and bootcut jeans We were enjoying the conversation, and each of us was laughing and acting silly. My daughter and sister decided to add some filters to their faces, which made us all laugh. I also figured out how to add the filter, but my mother wasn’t interested in learning how to do this. But, about that time, her small dog wanted to jump on her lap.

We were all talking to the dog and making puppy noises to get it to pay attention to us. Milly (the dog) finally saw us and took her nose and hit the phone that my mom was holding. It made a filter come up, and all at once, my mother was is a bright red beanie cap and had long flowing bright blonde hair. (I would show you the screenshot we made except she reads this blog and would lose her cool) We were all laughing so hard, but mom had no idea what had happened. We told her what was going on, so she started trying to figure out how to get her normal picture back and, instead, turned herself into a roll of toilet paper. Lol! How appropriate for the times since no one can find toilet paper in their store. Okay, I fibbed. I am going to show her picture to all of you. Lol! You can see how hard my daughter and I were laughing in this photo. Who said that social-distancing couldn’t be fun? Make sure to set up calls with your friends and family and create your own fun memories.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt and a multi-colored blazerYou gurls seemed to really be enjoying the t-shirt and jeans posts that I did on Friday (here) and Saturday (here). SO, I thought that I might show you another similar look today. I have found myself reaching for a t-shirt and jeans the past few days also, so you are not in the boat by yourself. I love taking a casual outfit and making it appropriate for any outing that might come up. Even if you are staying home for the next few weeks, this will eventually come to an end, and you will once again be going places.

I wore this rainbow-colored blazer in my Loft try-on session (here), so you may have already purchased this blazer. I love how this blazer took an ordinary look and made it extraordinary. It is amazing how adding a simple blazer to a pair of jeans and a t-shirt turns the entire look into a more professional and classier look. I love how this will go with almost any color that you wear, and also the unique fringe detail that runs down the lapel. I am wearing a medium in this sweater/blazer, and I think that it fits great. Well, poop! I went to get the link to the blazer, and you ladies must have liked it more than I thought. It is out of stock!!! Here is the link to the jacket anyway, just in case they have a backorder coming.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt with pearlsMost you might think about wearing jeans and a t-shirt and picture a tee with your favorite music group on the front, or maybe a Harley-Davidson motorcycle shirt, or possibly a “My best friend went to the beach, and all I got was this t-shirt”shirt. Lol! I honestly have never had a lot of “those” types of t-shirts, and most of mine have always been solid colors instead. I am usually on the look-out for cute graphic tees since I own so few.

But you can’t go wrong with a white t-shirt. Usually, I wear a v-neck t-shirt, but I have found that the round neck seems to be more classy looking. I am sure the reason that the round neck looks classier is that some people want to show their “girls” off with a deep v-neck. I like a v-neck because it elongated my neck and helps to hide my multiple chins. Lol! Thankfully, I am down to only two chins, instead of three, so maybe I can start wearing the round neck version more often. I am wearing a medium in this fine-rib tee, but I sent it back and ordered a large instead. This one fits me fine, but I don’t like to feel that I need to suck in my tummy all of the time. So, I am hoping that the large will have a little more breathing room. Here is the link to the crewneck t-shirt, and it is on sale for 50% off.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, bootcut jeans, and a multi-colored blazerI loved the lighter color wash on these Wit & Wisdom jeans. These jeans are so soft and comfortable, and they are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I like the mid-rise style of these jeans also since I’ve not fully embraced the high-waist look yet. These jeans just look relaxed and laid-back, and I love that look. But, I sent these jeans back because I felt like they were too short for me even though they were a 32″ inseam. I went to reorder them, but my size was sold out. The website encourages you to order one size down, so I am wearing an 8 in these. They fit great, except for the length, and they were super soft also. Here is the link to these jeans and also come in petite sizing. Here is the link to the plus size jeans, and they say these run true to size.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a white t-shirt, bootcut jeans, and a brown belt and flatsOne of the accessories that made this outfit so special was the belt. It has a whipstitch detail along the edges for a relaxed look, so this will look great with anything but dress pants. I also like that it doesn’t have holes as a way to latch the belt. Instead, the belt slides through the buckle for a nice look. I purchased the medium, which is plenty big enough for me to wear this lower on my hips. So many times, you can either wear the belt for high-waisted looks, but not with items that are medium or low- waisted. This works for all of them! Here is the link to the belt.

I wanted to thank all of you who added a recipe in the comments on Saturday. In case you missed that post, go here and be sure to read all of the comments. There were one or two that I had tried before, but so many of them were new to me that I can’t wait to try them out. I might try and see if I can copy and paste all of them onto a PDF so that we can have them all in one place. How does that sound? Would that be something that you would like to have?

  4. I only have one pair of Wit and Wisdom jeans but I love them for all the reasons you mentioned. I would purchase more but don’t have a need to fill. 🙁

  5. I had tears in my eyes laughing so hard. What a great post! Love this outfit too!

  6. So happy to see a belt without holes! Many of my belts are from Brighton and are fairly old. And I was thinner back then when they were bought. Of course they all go around the smaller part of me where high rise pants go. So irritating LOL!!

  7. Yes to PDF! Love your outfit! You are a beautiful person inside and out!!!

    1. I also would love a PDF of the recipes! I think the length of the jeans look perfect on you! Awhile back I ordered a pair of the Sofia Vergara jeans you styled and they were about 8 inches too long for my 5’5”” frame so I sent them back. You must be all legs!
I love your positive outlook and look forward to your posts each day!

  15. Cute, cute outfit. Love the belt! I moved from Texas to Austria 20 years ago, so I’m the queen of social distancing when it comes to my American family and friends. And back then, there was no Facebook, Skype or WhatsApp so keeping in touch was much more difficult, not to mention expensive!

  16. I would love the pdf! Thank you for your uplifting and fun posts during this crisis!!!

  17. You look great!! Thank you for your uplifting message every day❤️❤️

  18. Your positivity is appreciated more than ever! Thanks for lightening my day!

Having all of the recipes together would be awesome!❤️

Stay safe. I look forward to your blog every day. I am now a stay-at-home teacher, and usually wear jeans and a t or athletic wear. My 10 year old 5th grader is ready to go back to school…I am probably not her favorite teacher!???

  20. Anita Wierengo says:

Would love to know how tall you are? Knowing would be a good reference in looking at your full length photographs. Also, do you color your hair? If so, how will you manage the upkeep during social distancing? Enjoy your blog, stay healthy and well.

  21. Thank you for the link to the t-shirt. I just ordered it in 4 colors at 50% off!
