A CASE OF THE CAN’T HELP ITS
Do you ever have those days when you just can’t seem to “want” to do anything? I am talking about the kind of day where getting out of bed and putting on clothes, is a “chore.” I call days like that my “can’t help it” days. If Joe asks me what is wrong, I will tell him, “I have a bad case of the can’t help its.” This means that there is nothing physically wrong with me, I just am dragging my bottom lip.?
I am having a can’t help it day, and it is showing in my choice of clothing. I deliberately chose a cheerful color, trying to drag myself out of the doldrums. You can just tell by my expressions that something is out of whack. I am sure by the time you are reading this, everything will be back to being “Practically Perfect In Every Way.” Lol!
Some of you have been telling me that you are getting two emails that tell you about my morning blog post. I hope you were opening both emails, that way I might be getting two pageviews per person. Haha That is one way to beat the system. I went in and deleted a contact form plugin, so hopefully that fixed the problem. If you didn’t receive an email at all this morning, then it is back to square one. I told y’all that I am not very good at this computer stuff.
Okay, let’s start with this less than stellar look. There is nothing wrong with the outfit, I just think my hair is crappy, and do I even have on makeup? This is ridiculous! This is actually one of my favorite tops. I love the bright color and it fits well. If I had a critique at all, it would be nicer if it had wider straps. I can see my bra strap showing in this photo. Oh well, at least I had one on, right? This top is by Cable & Gauge, and I think I bought it at TJ Max, but I can’t be for sure.
Hot Pink Tank: Similar w/zipper | Similar (T-Shirt)| Plus | I have no idea why I have on two necklaces. I was not going for a layered look. I think I had on the three row necklace from Chloe & Isabel, and then I changed my mind and decided to wear the July Plunder Posse necklace. Evidently I left both of the necklaces on, I told you I was off kilter. The bracelets I have on are from Chloe & Isabel and Plunder. Chloe & Isabel is having a HUGE sale right now. There is a ton of products on sale up to 65% off, only till they are sold out. If you have ever wanted to try some of their jewelry, now is the time. Just remember to type my name (Tania Stephens) in the Find A Merchandiser box. If you purchase any of the Plunder jewelry, just type my stylist number in the box when you go to checkout (241007). I have started an online party, and there is a dropdown box where you can choose Tania’s P Party at checkout. If you would like to have an online or FaceBook party, contact me and I will help you set everything up.
These light gray or silver pants are by DKNY. They are really thick and super nice. I love the fit of these pants and would actually like another pair in a different color, but I can’t find the exact ones. The wedge shoes are from Catos. They call this color pool green, but it looks blue in this picture.
Light Gray Ankle Pants: Limited (Cassidy)| Limited (Drew)| Plus Gracious me, this outfit is getting on my nerves. The more I look at it, the more I dislike it. It is like chicken and dumplings. I like all the ingredients, but when they come together, it is not something I like. Note to self…..don’t take pictures on days you have the can’t help its. What do you call your “no good very bad” days? AND, even more important, how do you get out of those moods?
Never mind, I figured out the answer. You read a post from a fashion blogger who shall remain nameless, and laugh at her and all her mis-adventures. Hahaha! On a different note, I want to wish my dad a very happy birthday! I love you, daddy???

Well Missy, you look beautiful whether you had the “Can’t Help its” or not 😉 My Mom said that when I was little girl, I would say “My tired’s draggin'” I’m from Texas, so, say this with a Texas drawl. Maybe your tired was draggin’ Lol
I was having a slow day at work so I decided to look at the post I haven’t seen yet. You were probably wondering why I was looking at this older post, so that’s why. Have a good one, Melesa
Melesa, your comments always leave me smiling. Thank you so much for brightening my day:)
Bless your heart! We all have those days though don’t we? As women we need to give ourselves permission to have those days. Even on a day of being in a funk you still look adorable and I hope you’re having a better day today.
I think you and your blog are terrific, so I’ve nominated you for the “One Lovely Blog” award. You can read about it on my blog, http://www.MakeupPlus50.com.
We all have cranky days now and then. I usually just warn people away (“I’m cranky today, you’ve been warned”) and eventually other “life” things like sad, that was funny, I miss him, oh crap and ouch that hurt, pile on top of “being cranky” and I move on.
We all move on until we die.
I may be a little cranky today. You’ve been warned.
I have the same shoes in khaki!

Tania, you are so funny! I love it! I think you always look cute and full of vinegar…so the can’t help its just aren’t apparent to me. Have a super day!
A+ for effort and A+ for execution. you look fabulous whether you felt it or not.

When I was working and having a bad day I always put on a bright color to liven my mood. But the thing that always helped was the children. I was a teacher and the kids always said or did SOMETHING to lighten my mood. Perhaps you should just call those sweet grandchildren of yours for a lift! HA But I agree with the others. Cut yourself some slack. We gurls love you! Your style, sense of humor, and all around good personality are our gloom lifters!!!
Well bless your lil heart! Isn’t that what our southern sisters say? LOL!
You explained the off-kilter, blah day just perfectly!! It’s reassuring to know we’re not alone in those days!
You look adorable as usual but maybe knowing that your humor and way of talking to us makes our blah days less will bring a smile to your face!
Some times you just have to sink into the “can’t help its” and snuggle up with a furry friend and a good movie!
Thank you for your posts! I look forward to them every day!
Have a good day! Love from one of your northern sisters!
Tanja. (Same as your name, different spelling!)
I will admit, all of the super nice comments and hugs thrown my way, have improved my mood drastically. The comments almost always leave me smiling from ear to ear. I bet you get a lot of mispronunciations with your name also. ?
I have often wondered over the last several months how on earth you can blog 7 days a week and hope you are doing more than one blog on a few days, so you actually have days off!!
Let yourself have a “blah” day once in a while without feeling guilty. You can’t be running at 100%, 100% of the time.
I usually have a blah day about once a month and take a big nap in the afternoon and I’m set to go again for another month!!
Celeste, I have tried to do blog posts ahead of time, but it just doesn’t work for me. I start the post early in the morning, and then usually finish the post at night. Maybe one of these days…..
I have been meaning to comment the same: you don’t have to do a post each day. In fact, I can’t think of a single blogger I follow who does. Maybe you’re just tired. I have days like yours too, and I think having to go to work helps pull me out of it. At least it gets me out of bed!
I love your sense of humor and you make me laugh when I read your blog! I also appreciate your style. Keep it up!
Hi Tania!
I think you look beautiful. That pink is a great color on you. I call my down in the dump days my peepot days (also works for rainy days). Hope you are feeling like your self again! Enjoy your weekend.
Laurie
Peepot days. That is too funny. What part of the country are you from? I was just wondering if that is a local saying.
I live in Mississippi on the Gulf Coast. Don’t know if it’s a local saying or not. Just something my Mom used to say!
I go for a walk or get some sort of exercise. It totally changed my mood!!! I love this top. It’s so pretty!
Thank you for sharing even on your down days. We all have those. I actually love what you’re wearing. You inspire me to wear more color and to look at things in my closet for new looks. Hope your day gets better.
You fixed the double emails, you clever girl! And I often put on fuschia to get out of doldrums too.?? I think laughing at ourselves is so helpful too! I’m sending you a hug, we all need to know that we do our best- and if that best is a little lacking some days, this too shall pass!
I always laugh at myself. It takes the ammunition away from those who try to hurt you. Plus, let’s be real, I am an easy target. Lol! Thanks for the hug:)
Tania, I love your humor! Like you, I have my share of those ‘let me pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep’ days. Somehow, we pull ourselves up and out by our bra straps to face the world.
Putting on bright colors is a great way to fool ourselves into venturing out. I hope your day turned around and you have a marvelous weekend!
By the bra straps. I may have to just use that saying Audrey. Lol!
Well gurl, if you that good on your gloomy days there’s hope for us all! Love all the color!
Maybe you just need a hug! Sending bunches your way! God bless you!
Thanks Kendra! They are appreciated.
Lol you crack me up! I tell my husband beware I’m grouchy today! Very cute top!
I’m drinking my coffee out of my “I’m Crabby” cup today. Haha
I call days like that my “Gloomy Gus” days. Thank goodness they don’t come too often. So enjoy your blog.
I’ve used that term too, Lori. Lol!
I wish some of my “good day” outfits looked as good as your “can’t help it day” outfit! I think you look great.
?
First I have to say how great you look. Hard to think you could stay in the doldrums in that beautiful color! Thanks for that tip regarding wearing “happy” colors when down. Second, you betcha I have days like that. I try to analyze what the heck my problem is, pray for God’s help in counting my blessings, and then get out of the house! Sometimes just getting out, even to the grocery store, helps. Just seeing other people, maybe smiling and saying hi to someone can change my whole outlook. So, I’m smiling at you now and saying hi and hope you have a miraculous day!??
I’m heading to the grocery store in about an hour. Maybe that will help!
Sorry you’re feeling down in the dumps Tania. I love your colourful outfit. I might try and brighten myself up today – once I get out of bed ?
You look lovely Tania…I also think pink is great to lift spirits!
I’m sort of feeling a little ugh myself as have had this silly cold for a week now – I guess biking 100kms with a cold didn’t help the recovery process – how stupid can one be…but I had promised my daughter we would go…and it was a super pretty trip…http://funkyforty.com/an-ego-bike-date-around-lake-constance/
On that note I wish you a super Saturday!
You’re still adorable & inspiring! Im glad to have a diagnosis for my “I can’t help it” days! Yessss I have em, wish I could pinpoint why & how to get them to leave me alone!
Tania I think you look lovely, we are so often our own harshest critics, all of those greys must have lowered your mood ? If I’m having one of those days I try to think, well it will pass and then I usually go to the fridge and get something to eat!!! Good news, only one email today.
Fantastic!!! One email! Eating something sounds good about now. Haha
