Best Finds of the Year
Hello gurls! As we approach the end of another year, I can’t help but reflect on the past twelve months. 2023 has been an eventful year, but it has also been so much fun! From trying out new, interesting trends like different Taylor Swift era looks, the Vanilla Girl Aesthetic, and Barbiecore to continuing my search for the very best affordable fashion finds for women over 50, I’ve shared a LOT of products. With that being said, I’m excited to share with you my best finds of the year, including the bras that have been a game-changer for me (and so many of you, gurls!) and a lipstick that has become one of my absolute favorites. Let me know in the comments if you’ve purchased any items you love that I’ve shared in 2023!
Best Finds of the Year
1. Anything Walmart
You gurls love Walmart as much as I do! Honestly, so many pieces made the list but were sold out. I think that’s one major thing we’ve learned this year!! If I share something from Walmart, you’re going to have to order ASAP, or you might miss out.

2. Warner’s Bras
The Cloud 9™ Super Soft Wireless Lightly Lined Comfort Bra #1269 is true to its name. I like the slightly longer section under the cups, the decorative design on it, and the straps. You can tell by just looking at this bra that it is comfortable, and the photos below show that it is also supportive and does a great job of controlling lumps, bumps, and bulges.
As I mentioned above, I rarely wear underwire bras. In the past, I’ve had the wires escape the confines of the bra and poke me. Plus, they just seemed too rigid and structured. But, I decided to go outside my comfort zone and try the This Is Not A Bra™ Cushioned Underwire Lightly Lined T-Shirt Bra #1593. When my husband looked through all of my photos of the bras, he told me that I needed to be wearing this one all of the time. I think you’ll see why when you see my photo that has a side profile. Lol! I believe he used the words “perky” and “lifted,” and those are not words I hear often at my age. Once again, there are no visible lumps, bumps, or bulges, and the bra is very comfortable.
I’m a HUGE fan of wireless bras because of the comfort level. This bra is lightly lined and doesn’t add any bulk. I was afraid that it might be too comfortable and that it wouldn’t do its job…I had no reason to worry.
3. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
I’m not shocked to see this gorgeous moisturizing lipstick from Revlon! I love the color ‘Champagne on Ice’, but there are a ton of great shades! It’s so affordable, and it’s been one of my best sellers multiple times this year among you gurls.
4. Red Denim Jacket
I love the personality this red denim jacket brings to an outfit. I paired it with a graphic tee, but you could also wear it over a dress or a dressier blouse. I’m wearing a large, and it fits perfectly. If you love the fit of this but not the bold color, you can grab it in black, white, light gray, dark denim, or light denim instead.
5. SPANX Air Essentials Jumpsuit

I can’t even begin to describe the fabric of these jumpsuits. It is incredibly soft and feels like a Ponte knit, except it is almost silky. The Air Essentials line features this fabric, and it has to be felt to understand my obsession with the products. The jumpsuit has a drawstring waist that is a ribbon instead of a string. It features a one-button closure on the back for easy on and off. The jumpsuit is very flattering in all sizes. The column of color helps to elongate the body and make you look taller. The jumpsuits have pockets which is a feature I love. You can see more photos of my DIL, Kayla, and I wearing our jumpsuits in this post.
6. Anything from Talbots
I knew my readers liked Talbots, but this year you really showed me just how much you loved it!! You can see my most recent try-on here!

7. Trouser Jeans

Trouser Jeans are a style that I am embracing. I love their polished and dressier look, and I like the large hem on this pair. If you can wear jeans at work, this style of jeans would work perfectly. I’m wearing a size .5, and they fit great. It seems a lot of you gurls loved them as well, since they made the list of top sellers this year! Trouser Jeans are dressier than other styles of jeans, and they look great with a blazer. These jeans are high-waisted and have a large cuff at the hem. I’m wearing a size 8, so these fit true to size.
8. So Slimming No-Stain White Girlfriend Ankle Jeans
Another pair of jeans from Chico’s made the list! These are the No-Stain White Girlfriend Ankle Jeans, and I sized up from a .5 to a 1 in them. I usually size up one size when wearing white jeans and pants because I don’t want them to be so tight that you can see through them. I could have easily worn my normal size .5 since the jeans are the girlfriend style and a little more relaxed than some.
9. Wit & Wisdom ‘Ab’solution High Waist Itty Bitty Bootcut Jean

I love Wit & Wisdom jeans for their style and their fit. They are extremely comfortable, and I have loved every pair that I have purchased. They do have a lot of stretch to them, so you may need to size down in them. I did that with this pair, and I am wearing an 8 instead of my usual size 10.
10. J. Crew Factory Schoolboy Blazer and White Button-Up Oxford Shirt

I originally shared this button-up oxford shirt when I wrote Six Ways to Style a Button-Up Shirt, but I’ve worn it countless times and worn it many ways since then! Every woman needs a quality white button-up in their closet. They look great alone, under a kimono, poncho, or cardigan, or dressed up with a blazer.

Two products from that post actually made the best finds of the year list, the second one being this Navy schoolboy blazer. It’s such a classic style that you can wear it for years. I’m wearing my usual size 10, and it fits great. I loved it so much that I ordered it in the camel color, too! It is amazing how adding a blazer to your outfit changes everything. Adding a cardigan should give you the same look, but it doesn’t. A cardigan can still look casual, but a blazer will usually elevate the look so much more.

That’s it for my best finds of the year, gurls! Have you purchased any of these items? Let me know in the comments!

I just ordered the red Lee jacket. Unless I know the brand, I always order 2 sizes when purchasing online. I can’t wait to get the jacket. Great ideas! Thank you for keeping us up to date!
All good looks on you. The lipstick got my attention!
