Best Concealers for Mature Skin in Women Over 50
Today, I’m sharing some of the best concealers for mature skin in women over 50. I’m guessing I’m not the only one familiar with the common skin concerns that come with age. You know, dark spots, fine lines, and under-eye circles. Can I just say thank goodness for whoever created concealer? It’s one of my favorite tools for moving back the clock (on my face, that is)!
A great concealer helps give a smoother, more even complexion so that your skin can look youthful and radiant. I’m sharing several different brands with varying prices and levels of coverage. I want to ensure that there is a concealer to fit everyone’s budget and preferences.

What are the benefits for women over 50 of wearing concealer?
As we age, our skin can develop wrinkles, fine lines, and dryness, especially around the eyes. For women over 50, wearing under-eye concealer provides several benefits. Concealers with key ingredients like glycerin, vitamin E, and moisture-boosting components like shea butter or mango butter can help hydrate and smooth the skin. Using a full-coverage concealer or a medium-coverage option can mask dark circles and uneven skin tone.
Concealers with caffeine can help reduce puffiness under the eyes, while a radiant concealer can give a natural, luminous effect without emphasizing pores or looking cakey. Many celebrity makeup artists recommend using a primer to ensure the concealer stays in place all day without settling into fine lines.

Everyday Concealers: $$

This concealer has a matte finish that resists creasing and fading throughout the day, making it a favorite choice for a flawless and sculpted look.
ILIA – True Skin Serum Concealer
You might want to try Ilia if you’re looking for a cruelty-free concealer. I love Ilia cosmetics because they are formulated for mature skin and don’t settle in our creases like some brands. I use Yucca SC2, and it blends in nicely. It’s easy to see why this concealer gets such rave reviews.
Kosas Revealer Super Creamy and Brightening Concealer
This concealer from Kosas offers buildable coverage to help conceal discolorations, blemishes, and under-eye circles. Its creamy and nourishing formula brightens and hydrates the skin for a natural and healthy-looking finish. This is one of the concealers that includes caffeine in its list of ingredients. A winner!
How do I choose the concealer that is right for me?
Choosing the right concealer involves finding one that matches your skin tone and addresses specific concerns like dry skin, wrinkles, or oily skin. Opt for a concealer with moisture-rich ingredients like glycerin, shea butter, or squalane if you have dry skin, and choose a fragrance-free formula if you have sensitive skin. If you deal with dark circles, consider using a color corrector first, followed by an under-eye concealer that offers medium coverage or full coverage.
Look for shades that complement your skin-like finish—for instance, using a slightly lighter shade for brightening or matching your exact tone for spot concealing. Avoid using too much product, as this can settle into fine lines, and consider setting your concealer with a light powder to prevent it from becoming cakey. The right formula will leave your skin looking radiant and smooth, perfect for daily wear.
Luxury Concealers: $$$
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer is a renowned product that has gained a cult following due to its ability to brighten and illuminate the under-eye area while reducing the appearance of dark circles and fatigue. With its lightweight formula and easy-to-use brush applicator, this concealer offers a natural, radiant finish, making it a go-to choice for enhancing the complexion and achieving a luminous glow.
Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Face and Undereye Concealer
This product is a luxurious and high-performance product that delivers impeccable coverage and a radiant finish. This concealer addresses facial imperfections and under-eye concerns, so it helps hide dark circles, blemishes, and discolorations while providing a smooth and luminous complexion.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer
This concealer from Laura Mercier is great at camouflaging imperfections, including dark circles, redness, and discolorations, while providing a natural and seamless finish throughout the day. This product is long-lasting and has high coverage, which I know I look for in a concealer! I picked this up at Ulta. LOVE that store, lol.
Concealer Brushes:
Don’t forget a concealer brush to ensure that you apply your product correctly for the best results. I like this one from Amazon and this one from Real Techniques. Both brushes are under $7!
What other products can help with skin issues?
First, using a good eye cream with ingredients like glycerin, caffeine, and vitamin E can help hydrate and reduce puffiness. Caffeine is especially effective for reducing under-eye bags, while glycerin locks in moisture to keep the skin soft. For those with dry skin, creams containing shea butter or squalane can help replenish lost hydration and improve collagen production, which keeps the skin firm.
To address discoloration or dark circles, a color corrector can work wonders. Paired with an SPF-infused concealer or foundation, this can protect your skin from sun damage while evening out your skin tone. Opting for a radiant concealer or a product that delivers a skin-like finish will give your skin a natural, healthy glow without settling into fine lines.
If you’re concerned about makeup looking cakey, using a primer is essential. This helps create a smooth base for makeup application, reducing the appearance of pores and preventing the product from creasing or clumping. Be mindful of choosing products that are fragrance-free to avoid irritation, especially for sensitive skin.
Lastly, makeup brands like It Cosmetics and Tarte shape tape concealer are often recommended by influencers and celebrity makeup artists, and a luxurious option like clé de peau beauté concealer can offer high-quality solutions for more advanced skin concerns.
Whew, that’s a lot! I hope it helps you find some great products to love!

Verse Of The Day
Matthew 5:13 (NIV)
13Â “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
I have tried so many different concealers. My personal favorite is the NARS. The IT concealer feels and looks a little heavy on my face. I’m always ready to try a new concealer. Thanks for the info!!
Love the maybelline one –
Great prices on some of these!
I have used the Maybelline Eraser concealer for several years and am happy with it…and the price.
Shape Tape ultra creamy is my go to!
Thank you for showing us so many choices in all price points.
I use the Maybelline and the elf ones and they are inexpensive and work great. I gave my tarte one to a granddaughter as it was too dry for my skin.
Maybelline age rewind seems to be the best for everyday when I don’t wear foundation. I like the IT Bye Bye one if I’m wearing foundation. You have to put it on your finger tips then pat your fingers together a couple times as it’s very sticky. That helps to warm it up and be less sticky/thick.
There’s a miracle coverup constantly showing up on FB.. It was not a miracle for my very dark hereditary circles. They give my uncles that Robert Mitchum sexy look. Us women, just makes us look like we haven’t slept in a year. I was able to return it and they took $3 off. That’s ok as it was $40.
I use a bronzer lightly and then elf concealer on top. Just play around with it till it suits u.
But first a moisturizer. I use Milani hey honey cheek kiss or Elf halo glow beauty wand contour. I’m blonde with light skin.
I use the Tarte ultra creamy concealer. It blends better and it’s not drying. The regular Tarte concealer is too dry for me.
I’m always looking for a new product to try
Concealers are a must! I appreciate that you offered Drug store brands. I hate spending a lot on makeup.
I love this post and I have used all of these products except the last three. I’m doing something wrong because it just doesn’t look right on me. I’m going to order the brush maybe that will help I was wondering what primer do you recommend for the undereye? I don’t want to look like Trump lol 😆
I don’t use a primer. But, I do use eyecream, and sometimes I will dab a very tiny bit of the cream on top of the concealer if it looks like it is caking.
I really don’t like to buy concealer, I never find the right color, and then you’re stuck with it. Ugh! Thank you though for some options.
Becky, you aren’t stuck with it. You can return products that don’t work for you. A lot of time, I will donate those items to “women’s homes” instead of sending them back.
For concealer, I like Ulta beauty ones
