Gurls, you know that I’m all about skincare. I’ve been using Rodan & Fields for years, and I think my face is better for it. I’ve blogged about my favorite R + F products before, but I know that there are not a lot of choices. Today, I’m sharing the best face moisturizers for women over 50.

The Best Face Moisturizers for Women over 5O- $$$

Estee Lauder is a brand that has been around since 1946 and is the 2nd largest cosmetic company after L’Oreal! This Revitalizing Supreme cream has rave reviews. With over 5000 reviews, it has a 4.5-star rating. In a recent survey, 93% of consumers said their skin looks radiant & feels stronger, hydrated, and nourished! This and the others I’m sharing are for the face and neck, not the eyes. Maybe I’ll do a post on those soon, too.

This cream from Philosophy kills two birds with one stone. It’s a great moisturizer and a sunscreen. According to their 8-week study, users found a 73% increase in hydration after one use! I love that it’s cruelty-free. After 1500 reviews, they also have a 4.5-star rating!

Clinique and skincare just go hand in hand. This cream combines two moisturizers – one for sculpting (tightening) and one for volumizing and plumping. This product has over 600 reviews and a 4.3-star rating. Like the ones above, this is not an eye cream but is for your face and neck.

The Best Face Moisturizers for Women over 5O – $$

I am a huge fan of IT cosmetics, and so when I saw that they had a cream, I was thrilled. First of all, Confidence In A Cream is a great name! Points for creativity right off the bat. This is a hydrating cream and also works to reverse signs of aging. I always check the reviews, and these have almost 12,000 reviews and a rating of 4.6 stars!

A few years ago, I was at an event for a ministry. The keynote speaker and his wife came by my table to say hello, and I couldn’t help but compliment her on her skin. It was glowing. A few days later, she texted me a photo. Yes, it was this L’Oreal cream. She must have texted a few more folks because this has over 38,000 reviews and a rating of 4.5 stars!

Here’s another offering from Clinique. I wanted to include this because it’s got great reviews, 3,500, and a 4.6-star rating. The 100H stands for 100 hours which is how long Clinique claims this moisturizer lasts! Some of the reviewers use it in the morning and as a night cream.

The Best Face Moisturizers for Women over 5O – $

Not every moisturizer has to be expensive. Gurls, this cream has been reviewed over 123,000 times and has a 4.8-star rating! That’s crazy. This cream works for your face and body and is under $20 dollars.

Retinol and Collagen? Yes, please! Here’s another affordable moisturizer. It doesn’t have as many reviews as CeraVe, but who does?! Still, it has 1,500 reviews and a 4.7-star rating. The price is just $17 dollars. I love that they say this is for men and women. My brother-in-law is bald, and there’s no way my sister is going to give him a dollop of her expensive face cream for his scalp, lol. This and CeraVe are great to keep on the counter for the man in your life.

I’m a fan of La Roche-Posay and have several tubes, but I wanted to share this travel-size version. Keep it in your purse or suitcase so that you’re never without moisturizer. This small tube is fantastic for when you just need a tiny bit of moisturizer.

Hope you found something you can use. Whether it’s a name brand or an inexpensive version, please keep your face hydrated!

Great and informative blog. I think I know now what moisturizer I will purchase for my aging, dry skin. Thank you 💐!! I am also a single senior on a limited budget so your information on these products really helps.

  2. Glad to see CeraVe on the list and for about half it’s price you can get the Equate brand. Everyone already knows where it can be purchased. You get a nice size jar that should last a while especially if just used on your face.

  3. Sharon Kelley says:

I have been using Eminence products, have you tried them and. if so what do you think of them?
    Thanks

  4. Mari Jones says:

Have used all of the moisturizers mentioned.
A moisturizer definitely makes skin appear more youthful and gives comfort from dryness.
If you want to slow the process down, you have to use a moisturizer with atleast 30 spf or a separate sunscreen along with your moisturizer.
Otherwise it’s a waste considering, us women just want to look our best.
I am educated in this area.
Also, if I could only choose one over the other, it would be SPF.
If you duo the two together, you’ll get the best results.

    1. No, I’ve not used all of them. I use a lot of moisturizers, and I will switch them up occasionally to make sure I’m still liking the ones I’m using.

  5. Karen Burns says:

I am always looking for a great moisturizer! Thanks for the ideas.

  6. Shirley Forester says:

    Ladies,
The $50 Amazon gift card entry is real. I won one this past Sunday.

  10. Your comment about your brother in-law and the cream is hilarious. I’m laughing as I’m writing this. I have tried Gold Bond neck and chest cream. It helps my neck a lot. I’m having an eczema rash right now so I had to stop. I can see a difference. My neck looked better when I was using it. Thanks for all these suggestions.

  11. I love CeraVe; it’s mild for my sensitive skin.

  12. sue koren says:

THis has nothing to do with moisturizers but I love your black and white dishes. Can you tell me who makes them or where you got them?

    Thanks

  13. My go to product has always been Estée Lauder. I actually love the one you highlighted. But I have also been using some cheaper products, and have found that there are some really good products that don’t cost nearly as much.

  14. Stephanie says:

    saving for future reference

  15. My dermatologist recommended Cerave when I came home from vacation in the woods with a terrible rash on my legs. I am sold. It is an amazing body cream. Can’t beat the price either. And they sell small tubes for travel.

  16. The economy and illness has put us back on a stricter budget for the niceties like face moisturizer. I have found the Cerave line of products to be absolutely lovely and they are so reasonable in comparison. I’m glad you included them.

  17. It is cold here in TN. I am hoping we will have a few more warm days. Hubby and I are trying to seal the deck. Love everything you suggest for all of us. Have a blessed day!!

  18. Catherine says:

Thank you for this blog today on moisturizers! I have been personllay researching this and you helped me! Than you!

    1. I hope you find the right one! 😊

  19. Great post!!! I have used many of these moisturizers. I have been using Clinique products since I was a teenager. I have eczema and very dry skin even on my face. I swear by moisture surge. It also makes a great primer for your foundation.

  20. Alexia Maben says:

I enjoyed looking at the different moisturizers.

  21. Diane Swanson says:

I love the LaRoche Posay face cream.

  22. Thanks for their affordable list of moisturizers. I will look forward to your eye cream posting. I’ve tried many, but not completely satisfied with any of them.

  23. Great round up of moisturizers! I have been using the L’Oreal Revitalift and have seen a real difference.

  24. Linda Foltz says:

Great article, I needed this info with Fall weather we are having in Iowa.

  25. Trish Suvino-D'Anna says:

You definitely put a few of my favorites on your list. You do not have to spend a million dollars to look great. I have all of these and more. I love feeling my face after a glycolic peel. Then put on the product that makes your skin feel like butter. I never miss a night or a day. We are all worth the effort.

    1. I never used to take care of myself, which is crazy to think about now. 🙄

  26. You are so good about giving ALL price points, thanks! Can’t wait to try some of the affordable ones.

    1. I try to be inclusive!

  27. Linda Conner says:

Tania, I LOVE the Cereve moisturizer for body and face. After using Retin A at night, I use the Cereve in the morning after gently washing my face. The moisturizer lasts all day, and feels wonderful . I also use this moisturizer after showering and shaving my legs. It truly lasts all day and night, and comes highly recommended by my dermatologist! BTW, my Silky Terriers hate going potty in the rain as well, which tends to often be a challenge here on the Oregon coast!

    1. Linda, if you live in the Oregon Coast, you are used to a lot of rain! 🌧️

  28. Nice products! Thank you

  29. Linda Shearer says:

I use some rodan and fields products but need more moisture and also use Clinque Smart! Would love to see what you post as the best eye cream. This area is very dry on me.

    1. I incorporate lots of products, but my cores are always R+F.

  30. Jean kern says:

I’ve used most of these and swear by L’oreal

  31. I love the Cerave moisturizer. I use it on my face and body. Great for dry winters in Montana!

  32. I love the L’Oreal Revitalift. It works wonders in my opinion!

  33. CeraVe has so many, affordable products. I used Clinique for many years but like CeraVe and it’s price point just as well.

    1. I agree with you, Karen!

  34. I currently use a couple of those moisturizers. Years ago my dermatologist recommended Cerave. I like it because there is no scent. I like to switch things up every once in awhile. I’ve never seen the brand Belif. Think I’ll give it a try.

  35. I use Cerave body cream and love it. Now to get my hubby to use it!

    1. Why won’t they use moisturizer? My husband is a big piece of sandpaper. At least I purchased some moisturizer soap for the shower.

  36. So funny about the weekend, no worries weather changes. I have migraines too with weather changes so I feel for you. I’ve been reading about this snail mucin have you tried it. They have a cream out some people are swearing by.

    1. My daughter love Snail Mucin, but I’ve not tried it yet.
