50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg ankle length jumper with linen mulesHow many of you are getting sick and tired of being at the house ALL of the time? This might fall under the saying, “be careful what you wish for; you might just get it.” Staying at home sounds so wonderful and inviting, and, for the most part, it is exactly that. But, sometimes, too much of a good thing can start to get on your last nerve!
50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg ankle length jumper with a straw hat and linen mulesThe other night some of my friends were on a ZOOM call, and one of them mentioned that she was sooo excited. We were all waiting to hear her good news, but we didn’t expect what she told us. She said, tomorrow, I get to get all dressed up and put on my makeup for the first time in 5 weeks. All of us were sitting on the edge of our seats, wondering what in the world she was going to do. With the way things are right now, you can’t go and do anything except to go to a few stores which aren’t exactly exciting. She said, “I have a doctor’s appointment out of town, so I get to drive somewhere!” We all busted out laughing at her for being so excited to go to the doctor. If this had been last year, she would have been saying, “shucks! I have to go to the doctor tomorrow. I hate having to drive all the way there and back. It will take me all day long.” Isn’t it funny how all of a sudden, we went to, “I get to” versus “I have to?”
50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg ankle length jumper with black pumpsLadies, this is the first time that I’ve taken my photos in my new room since I got my desk. I am now debating what I should add to my “photo-shoot” area. I was thinking about adding something on the wall. Do you remember the giant “S” that I had on my porch? Here is a blog post back in 2015 that shows the “S.” That one was covered in moss, but I have a wooden one that I was thinking about painting white and hanging on the wall. I was also going to add a plant and possibly a rug. What do you think? Does it even matter? Do you like the porch pictures better? Inquiring minds want to know. Lol!
50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg ankle length jumper with a cork clutch handbagLet’s talk about my jewelry first. I am wearing a gorgeous pair of statement earrings from Kendra Scott. These are lightweight, but they create quite a statement. They are made with braided metal for an airy design that looks like a large flower to me. I’ll be wearing these a lot this summer. Here is the link to the Hallie earrings. I am also wearing a dainty gold necklace and a filigree cuff bracelet from Kendra Scott. The Rue necklace comes in gold, silver, or rose gold, and some earrings and bracelets match this design. The Maggie bangle bracelet is gorgeous, and it matches a large pair of hoops that I purchased a while.
50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg ankle length jumper with black pumps and a cork clutchThis adorable cork clutch is perfect for the summer months. It has gold metallic trim, and you can use the gold chain to make the clutch a cross-body or a should bag.  I love the natural color of the purse, and I have a pair of cork heels that I need to get out of storage to wear with this handbag. It is big enough for the necessities that you need to carry with you. The bag is on sale for around 20.00, so grab it by clicking here.
50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg jumper with black pumpsAre you a jumpsuit person? They are so easy to wear since it is only one-piece, but they do have their drawbacks. You all know the biggest drawback, having to use the bathroom. There is no easy way to use the bathroom when you are wearing a jumpsuit; everything must come off. This one isn’t too bad since it slips on instead of having a zipper. This is by Lou & Grey, and it is very soft and comfortable. Also, it is no longer on the website, even though I just got this in the mail. SUE!!! I need your help! Can you find this for me???

I am wearing a size medium in this jumpsuit, which fits true to size. I did find a Lou & Grey v-neck jumpsuit on the Lou & Grey website, and here is the link to that one. And, since that one is also limited in sizes, I’ll see if I can find a few more that are the same but different. Lol!

50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide leg jumper with a straw hat and linen mulesThis type of jumpsuit is very versatile, and it can be dressed up or worn casually. That means that you can wear this to a class reunion, or to the beach, and you would look great either place. For this look, I envisioned getting to go back to Myrtle Beach one of these days and wearing this out to dinner. I added this cute straw hat to keep the sun off of my face. I love the light neutral color that will go with anything and the black grosgrain band that gives it that classic look. Hats don’t look great on me unless they have a broad brim like this one. This brim will be great for keeping the sun off your neck so that no one will be able to call you a “red neck.” Lol! Here is the link to the straw hat.

I also added these straw/linen looking mules that I would wear at the beach. These are from Target, and they are very affordable. Here is the link to these mules.

50 Is Not Old is wearing a black sleeveless wide length jumper with a clutch and mulesI forgot to give you the answers to the questions I asked the other day. My husband’s name is Joe. I am 59, but only for another month. ? My dog’s name is Lucy Lu. I’ve been blogging since September 2015. And, I use Lash Boost to get my gorgeous long lashes!!! You gurls sure know me awful well. Lol!

I had one lady jump on yesterday’s ZOOM call. These calls will be happening every week, but I am available to talk at any time. The blog and Rodan + Fields have allowed me to retire, and I know that earning an extra income could mean a lot during these times. Rodan + Fields is offering cashback on the enrollment kits, and I am going to match that cashback. It is my way of giving back to those who desperately need an additional paycheck. 1. Love the jumpsuit! I need it – so sad its not available online. You look amazing in everything!

  2. I think you look great in the jumpsuit, especially with the black pumps. I like the idea of alternating between the porch and office. Love, love love the chair and a plant, a picture on the wall and maybe a side table might be something to consider.

  3. Love the porch pics. Like the more natural light & occasionally your pup. ? But also liked the chair pic. Seeing how a garment fits while sitting is a great help.

  4. Great jumpsuit. Looks perfect on you. Why not have a faux scene painted on the wall or maybe place some wall pockets with plants.

    Hi Tanya,

Love the chair with the gray wall. Very elegant but understated. A nice alternate backdrop for those chilly days. Love the jumpsuit! I will be turning 60 as well, in just a few weeks. And I’m determined that 60 is not old either! 🙂

  6. Hi Tanya,
I agree with most of the other comments that your office photos look a little bland and make you look washed out. The suggestion of a seasonal mural as a background might be something to try. Either that, or use the porch for lighter color outfits and your office for dark colored ones. You look good no matter where the photos are taken! Love the chair too.

  7. I like your office as the backdrop for your photo shoots, especially when it keeps you out of the weather. It’s definitely a great option to have. I love the chair and I like the idea of adding a plant. Jumpsuits are one item of clothing I will not buy. I am not comfortable with having to get undressed to use the bathroom when out in public. That’s just me and my little quirk. ?

  8. Hmm – Could you add a hanging barn door on the wall that you could stand in front of for a darker background? I think you need something in the background, but not anything too distracting…..I know that you can get “wall art” that looks like outside. Maybe you could order the four seasons and put them on a bunch of boards and rotate them in and out. 🙂 Love the jumpsuit – I also really liked how you showed it dressed up and dressed casually.

  9. Good Morning Tania, I love the outfit! And what tanning cream do you use? It looks good and You do not look 59!!!
I love the front porch photo’s! Use the photos on the porch for warmer weather and then use your new room for winter post. I love the chair, just needs a little more bling in the room.

Hi Tania! You always look so classy in all of your outfits. You can dress it up with a cute heel, or wedge, and dress down with a flat, or sneaker. There is so much flexibility with your style, I am trying to impress my wife to take notice. Anyway, keep up the good work!

  11. Hi Tania
It amazes me that just by changing your accessories and shoes you can go from perfectly casual to a night out on the town. Very nice!
Stay safe and have a great day!

    You look fabulous…great outfit!

Ahhh…I enjoyed what you said about the “have to” versus “get to.” That is how I feel about going to buy groceries now. Shame on me for ever complaining about “having to go buy groceries.” This year has taught me to appreciate things more. I enjoy your posts…I am saving your pictures on Pinterest on a board for me to refer to. I am a 55 year-old school teacher, and I need to “style up.” 🙂

  14. I think you should mix it up between the porch and your room. Take a few pictures with both backgrounds and see which compliments the outfit best. 🙂 Cute jumpsuit! I love them on other people, but I can’t “fight” with them with respect to going the bathroom. lol

  15. Sara Grant says:

The porch was better because the background color was a warmer tone. I have your same coloring and although the cool neutral tone of the wall is in style, it’s not as flattering as the porch. And that big “s” is cute. I liked the metal cross too. A dark rug either place would help ground the eye. Love all your posts. You are my inspiration both in style and life.

  16. Lezlie Gravens says:

I love jumpsuits! So weird you published this today because I purchased one yesterday! ?

    1. Lol! I guess that great minds think alike. Haha!

  17. Hi Tania! My preference is back to the porch. For some reason, you look washed out in your office. Might be the paint color against you light hair. Your coloring is more pronounced when you take photos on your porch. Outdoor lighting may have a part in it as well. Regardless, you always look great!

    1. Thanks, Donna. The lighting in the office is all-natural too. I have a large window and door to the side and in front of me. The office probably will never “replace” my porch, but I want to be able to take pictures when it is cold, rainy, or even later in the evening when the sun has gone down.

  18. Good morning gorgeous!

I love these photos! The chair is perfect and I’m not sure is add too much more. I guess is need to see a few more shoots but for this one, it is so classy!! I do enjoy your porch shoots using your door as a ‘frame’ so maybe you can alternate ?

    1. I do like the deep color of the door, but some dark outfits disappear in front of it. You can’t see the details of black or navy items. Plus, when it is cloudy, rainy, or freezing, I would love the option of taking photos in the office.

  19. Good morning Tania. that jumpsuit looks great on you, sadly they never look that way on me. I did buy one like lit on clearance last fall that is shorts and I am going to try that when it warms up here in WI. Your office turned out so welll and something on the wall like the “S” would be great, but a rug might not even show in the pictures. I love the chair! Have a great day!

    1. Mary, I think that I’ll add a rug and a plant for sure. And, then probably the S for now until I find something else that I like.

    2. @Mary: me too. They make me look “dumpy”. I’m sorta short 5’4” but I’m all legs with a very high natural waist, and broad shoulders, and a generous bosom (34G) so anything that doesn’t lengthen visually the area from collar bone to my hip looks boxy. For me, also I have to pee to often. I bought some button fly jeans after Tania sported them and by the end of the first day I was ready to donate them. I try to drink 80 oz a day and trying to get 8 oz in every two hrs or so. Meaning I need to pee every two hrs. My little granddaughter is like a camel. She can go all day. I’m not pregnant I’m 70 haha.

Agree on the rug. Susan (Susan at 60) does interior shots in her living room occasionally and she has the exact same rug as my grandma had in the 30s. I have a natural affinity for that rug, LOL. but it really livens up the pix. And she has furniture in the background that doesn’t detract at all.

I don’t mind the front porch photos. The white background helps show the colors.

  20. Hmmmm the blank white wall in the new photo shoot is a little blah. I’m sure you can jazz it up a little. The front porch was perfect, subtle, never distracting.

    1. I think it is a little blah too. That is why I want to add something to it, but I can’t let it get too distracting. I love the porch, but it is not a great place when it rains or in the winter when it is freezing outside.
