WHAT ARE THE COLORS FOR SPRING

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a Spring looking cardigan with a white button down shirt, crop skinny jeans, and leopard flatsWelcome to your daily escape from what is going on in the world. Here you will find inspiration, crazy stories about my family, the latest fashions, and hear all about my struggles with my fingernails. (more about that in a minute) You can sit back and relax and hopefully leave your worries and cares behind you for at least a few minutes. You are safe here, you are welcome here, and you are loved here. I try hard always to be a person who doesn’t just see the world through a half-full glass, but through a glass that is running over. So, if you are ready to embark on a light-hearted journey with me for the next few minutes, keep reading.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pink cardigan with a white button down shirt, crop skinny jeans, and leopard flatsIt is just my nature…I can’t worry or stay sad for very long. I do everything that I can, and then I move along. That attitude has served me well in life in almost every situation, except these dang fingernails. Every time I see a photo of me holding something, I cringe. I have faithfully been using Nailtiques Formula 2 daily, I’ve been taking a dosage of Biotin, and I’ve started taking a multi-vitamin daily. It is strange, but the pinkies and the thumbs seem to be getting stronger, while the others are still weak as water.

Yes, I am aware the fingernails are not a necessity, but I love pretty nails, and I long for those days again. Joe laughed at me (not a big shocker) and told me that if I had long nails, it would be harder to keep my hands clean. Okay, for a woman who is always looking on the bright side, I guess I will embrace my short, germ-free nails, at least for a little while. Lol!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a Spring looking cardigan with a white button down shirt, skinny jeans, and leopard flatsYou have seen this beautiful pink cardigan before in my Old Navy try-on session. (here) I fell in love with this color, it is so soft looking, and it is perfect for springtime. Spring seems to be all pastels and pale colors, and then summer is all about bright and vibrant colors. There is a LOT that I like about this sweater. The sweater is not only a gorgeous color, but it is also soft, it is the perfect length, and it is affordable. I am wearing a medium, and it fits me great. The sweater is also offered in several other colors, and as of this writing, it is on sale for even more significant savings. Here is the link to the cardigan.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pink cardigan with a white button down shirtI added a white and leopard necklace to this look. The leopard print in the necklace matched my shoes, and that simple step is what tied the whole look together. This necklace was a gift from a reader, and it was from Chico’s.

The good news is, the rest of my jewelry can be purchased. The Danielle Hoop earrings are lightweight and just the right size. Here is the link for those. And, the Maggie filigree bangle bracelet (and the Fallyn cuff, which is not pictured) is my go-to for bracelets. It is very lightweight and a great piece of jewelry that will go with everything.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a Spring looking pink cardigan with a white button down shirtMy white button-up shirt is one that I have had for a while. I have several white button-up style shirts, but I think the one that I have on today is from Talbots. This shirt is one of my favorites because it has pleats down the front to give it a fitted style. I wanted to look more casual, relaxed, and springy, so I tied the shirt in the front instead of letting it hang or tucking it in. The size I am wearing would be a size 10, my usual size. A white button-up will be an item that you can wear all year round, and with almost anything. Here is the link to this one (I think), and I’ll link to a few others also below.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a Spring looking pink cardigan with a white button down shirt, skinny jeans, and leopard flatsMy Mavi Jeans and Leopard pointed-toe flats round out the rest of this outfit. I love the crop style of these jeans and how they fit me. They hug me like a glove, but in a good way. They are soft and not scratchy like some jeans can be. I am wearing a size 30, which equals a size 10, my usual size. Here is the link to these jeans.

The Leopard flats are from Old Navy. These are super cute, and even though I didn’t think that they would be comfortable to walk in, I was wrong. They are a pair that I have found myself wearing often, and they haven’t hurt my feet. Mind you, I don’t stand on my feet all day long, and I don’t do a lot of walking, but for everyday use, these are fine and look cute. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit me great. Here is the link to the flats.

Hi Tania! I love your email every day and look forward to the variety you share with us. I would love to see some info on current hairstyles to choose from that help us stay current without trying to look 30. Your hair always looks great!

  3. I bought the pink sweater! I’ve avoided pastels recently because they were a favorite of my 93-year-old mother-in-law, who passed several years ago. A dear, sweet saint of a woman, I was afraid of looking older, but you wear them in such a fresh, modern, bright way, I couldn’t resist!

  4. Saw this on you and hit the link and bought the sweater. LOVE it! The fabric is so soft and the color is a beautiful pink. Can’t wait to wear it with my leopard shoes! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!

  5. Love this outfit. And the shoes… nice!

  6. Blondes wear pink so well!!

  7. I think this is my favourite outfit on you that you’ve posted (not that I haven’t liked the others – but this one is perfection). Those colours are definately good on you. Love it.

  8. Melesa Garrison says:

I love this outfit! Beautiful as always! I started taking hello bello (gummies) vitamins for Hair, Skin and Nails and my nails are so much stronger. I’ve been getting my nails done for 25 years, but I’ve been doing my own since the first of January, with the help of these vitamins.

    1. I hope that mine will get stronger once they have completely grown out.

  9. I’ve tried several times to get your emails, it doesn’t happen.

    1. Dawn, I’ll add you another way. Hold on.

  10. Dana Buckingham says:

I also use Nailtiques 2. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me. It does take time though so try to be patient. Nice outfit too.

  11. Love the outfit! Just got my Old Navy order and guess what, that pink sweater is in it! Along with a leopard top. Don’t have the shoes so may have to use the shirt instead! Thanks for the upbeat attitude, it’s appreciated. We all need some of that positivity to help us get through all of this, and we will get through it!

  12. Linda Mack says:

Hi. Thanks for the upbeat message. I’m sheltered in place so it’s a nice change. Love the sweater. It looks like a blush pink which is great for spring. I’m ordering the white blouse from Talbots for certain. Stay safe.

  13. Jackie Baley says:

Love this outfit! Perfect for Spring……light, bright and cheery, just like you!

  14. Love the outfit and your cheery outlook during these trying times. About your finger nails, you may want to get your thyroid checked. When it is not functioning correctly it can cause all kinds of things, fingernail issues is one of them.

    1. Linda, I do have thyroid issues and take Synthroid daily.

  15. Thanks for being you! Love the fashion, the stories, and your positive outlook. And I love the pink sweater

  16. Love the soft pink. Now that I am salt and pepper, I can wear it! I used to be a redhead and it was NOT my color. I received the bag and I just LOVE it!! Thanks so much!!

  17. I love this look. You look like the flowers in my backyard. The pinks are the first to come up snd then the lovely purples. I can’t afford the sweater right now because we are in a no spend mode but I do have a barley pink shirt and s cream sweater. I think that will work. I own the other pieces. Thanks for your bubbly blog.

  18. Loved the intro to your blog today, Tania. You do such a great job making your blog fun and practical, thank you! Keep doing what you are doing, you are an encouragement and bright spot for so may! Have a blessed day! ❤️

    1. Cyndy, you have blessed me with your comment. Thanks so much, it made my day!

  19. LOVE this outfit!!!! You look amazing. Embrace shorter nails, they are just so much classier than long nails. My nails rebelled against gel polishes and my eyes are rebelling against make up. Never used to have any issues or allergies. The bad part of getting older. Thank you for your blog.

  20. When I first saw this outfit I thought “what a happy outfit!” and of course what makes it so great is your amazing smile. I’ve said this so many times, I appreciate that you don’t show only outrageously expensive clothes and accessories, but show affordable and stylist trendy things too.

  21. FYI it took about 3 months of taking biotin before I saw results..I noticed more improvement in my nails than my hair. Keep with it and good luck!

    1. My hair grows quickly, but my nails don’t.

  22. Love the outfit and your big smile is the best way to start my day!

  23. This outfit is absolutely perfect. I love the colors because it looks so springy.
I take collagen at night for my nails. It seems to be working.

  24. Great outfit and I love that pink sweater! A good white button down is hard to find – I think Talbots is on my list when we are all allowed to get out and about again. Thanks for keeping things light. 🙂

  25. I’m going through same things with nails! Ugh my hands are ugly without longer colored nails! And man mine just keeping breaking and now split in skin at thumb nails (probably from all disenfecting! So sore! I’m faithfully using the nautilus stuff too. Last time I did this it took 2 months to finally have decent looking nails! I’m on week 3, in the meantime I’m enjoying your blog! Love the spring outfit. And btw, you’ve lost weight? Your looking so good and healthier!

    1. Thanks, Terri! As soon as I get my office finished (it is also where I am going to work out) I plan on exercising regularly. It will be right in fron of me instead of in a different room.

  26. Elizabeth says:

Love this outfit. Just ordered the shoes and the sweater. I wish the necklace was still available. It really makes the outfit.

  27. Love this outfit…you look gorgeous! I just ordered the pink sweater for Spring. Thanks for sharing all the fashion pieces. It’s great to see what something actually looks like on a real person.

    1. It does help to see items on a real person who is not 6’0″ tall and 100 pounds. Lol!

  28. Jamie in TN says:

Thank you for your positive attitude and beautiful smile. Love the soft pink sweater!

  29. Love the early spring outfit so much!!! Pink is so gorgeous in the spring. Your post was very positive and perfect for a day like today.

    1. I am glad that you liked the post, Amy!

  30. I’ve been plagued with thin nails that split and break at the quick my whole life. I always longed for long nails until a few years ago when I decided to keep my nails well groomed and short…always with a color! Love my nails now!

  31. I absolutely love this outfit! You look beautiful and very classy. With all the craziness going on right now, you are a breath of fresh air!

    1. So tired of all the craziness, but I think we may still have more to come…all we can do is keep the faith! I have that sweater and love it. I wanted those shoes to feel decent at least on my feet, but there’s no way my poor ole’ “dogs” could wear them for any amount of time, lol. They are super cute though. The whole outfit is great! Take care

  32. Love, love, love this outfit! Trying to stay positive during everything and as long as I can workout everyday, I will survive!

  33. Beautiful outfit. Looks great on you.

  34. Love the pink sweater. I have to tell you I bought the green cardigan you wore a couple of weeks ago. It was the first green piece of clothing I ever bought. Well I wore it to the office yesterday. I got so many compliments. In the midst of all the worrying over the virus everyone forgot it was St. Patrick’s Day until they saw me.

    1. Jenny, this made my day!!! I love it when you get compliments, it makes you feel so much better!

  35. LOVE this entire outfit!!!

  36. Kelly Palmer says:

I really love this outfit! Thank you for your bright, cheery and positive attitude cause we can really use more of that right now. I am in need of a manicure and a haircut so I am grateful right now that I am stuck at home. The only ones that can see me are my husband, mother in law and our fur babies! 😉

  37. LOVE this entire outfit!!

  38. Such a cute springy outfit. Where do you get the nail polish you were talking about ? After having gel nails taken off my nails are struggling.

    1. I ordered mine from Amazon.

  39. I really love this outfit! The cardigan is very pretty and I’m hooked on leopard print this season. I want everything leopard! Thank you Tanya for being a light in the midst of all that’s going on. We need more positives right now to focus on.

    1. Thanks, Debbie! I am trying to keep a good attitude and encourage others to also.

  40. You really are a breath of fresh air! I look forward to your posts. I too ordered this sweater when you had your old navy try on session. I love how you styled the sweater . You look very pretty and you give us great ideas.

  41. rphillips00 says:

Hey Tania…….I looove your pink sweater from Old Navy, so much, that I just ordered one for myself. : ) I cannot wait to get it and wear it! Thank you!

    1. You will love the cardigan. It is such a soft color!

  42. A really spring inspired look?
I love how you added a touch of animal print to the soft pink. Gorgeous!!
Thanks for being you. Love your overflowing-glass attitude. And I’m riding the nail journey along with you. I’m about six months ahead and must say my nails got much better but I’m with you….I miss my pretty nails….but not the time i spent at the salon.

  43. Love the color of the sweater. Perfect outfit!

  44. kramerseaCaroline kramer says:

LOVE your attitude, your fashion sense, your look, your sense of humor!! Thank you! I love the links to items and the fact that they are usually very affordable. You are the Oprah of us Real People!

    1. Lol! The Oprah of Real People!

  45. you look super cute! short nails are in and no color is too bold. (according to my daughters 21 & 24) they don’t like long nails at all and neither do any of their friends. it took me a few years to accept but now I am over it. free from long nails and the pressure to have them.

  46. You brighten my morning. Thank you. I’m feeling very overwhelmed these days.

    1. There is truly only so much that we can do. We need to prepare, take precautions, and then remember to check on others that might need our help. Anything that we keep us in a “normal” state of mind is helpful.

    2. Breathe, Robin. There is only so much that is in our control, so do what you can, and give the rest to the Lord.

  47. Cheryl Meyer says:

The nail salons in Louisville are forced to close starting now so many ladies will soon be sharing your pain. Oh and hair salons too!! Yikes! Thanks for being our daily “normal”…love ya.

    1. I hate this so badly for everyone! I hope and pray that it won’t last very much longer.

  48. Gorgeous you! Love the outfit and the lipstick color! And these were in your closet! !!!❤️

    1. In Kentucky, when we have a glass half full, we add 2 ice cubes, 2 shots of bourbon and say “Cheers”. Love your attitude and blog! Many of your outfits inspire me. Thank you so much.

      1. LOL!!! That almost made me spit out my drink. Hahaha

      2. Love this post…! And a quick note about your nails. I recently went through several months of my nails splitting and breaking. I started taking iron and within a few weeks, they were strong and growing!

    2. I am glad that you liked the post!

  49. Monica Ercanbrack says:

Love this outfit on you it just says hello spring.
I don’t wear a lot of white it just isn’t my color or pastels. I also love your lipstick what color and brand are you wearing?
You are a fun and beautiful person to follow on social media. Keep up the positive attitude.

    1. I usually blend several colors to make my own color of lipstick. It could have been a combination of plum, roseberry, persimmon, purple reign, etc. from LipSense.

  50. Barbara W. says:

I love your entire outfit and accessories!! You are a “breath of fresh air”.

  51. About your nails…I made an amazing discovery — collagen. I use several brands, but the first one I used was Perfect Collagen and I had to move my nail appts closer together. My nails are SNS and they look great when they take the stuff off. I’m 70 and they started getting ridges and splitting about 10 or so years ago. Not all ten, just one thumb and the long one on my left. The collagen has so many other benefits. I did not take it for nails, that was a happy side effect.

    1. I have heard a lot of good things about Collagen, so I might check into that.

    2. Karen Georgeff says:

I love the pink sweater with the leopard shoes! You always look so put together!
