Remember the days of Vera Bradley?! I sure do!! I loved my purses and bags from the brand. They became huge in the 2000s, putting up stores everywhere and expanding their product line. But what happened? And is Vera Bradley still around and stylish? Keep reading, and you’ll find out!

Me with a very small part of my own Vera Bradley collection several years ago!

What is Vera Bradley?

If you’re not familiar with the brand name, you’ve probably seen it at some point! Vera Bradley is a super fun brand that makes bags, luggage, and accessories. Started back in 1982 by two friends, Barbara and Patricia, it’s become famous for its bright, quilted cotton designs.

This is me with my Vera Bradley duffle bag in the print Rain Forest Canopy in 2021!

The best part about Vera Bradley? Their amazing prints! Think bold florals, paisleys, and all sorts of eye-catching patterns that change with the seasons. While their fun colorful pieces are great for adding a little personality to an outfit, they have plenty of neutral options to pick from as well. They sell so many great home items like bedding and drink tumblers. They even sell apparel and sleepwear!

My dog Lucy loved this cozy fleece blanket and robe from Vera Bradley!

Despite being one of the hottest accessory brands around, I think ladies started leaning toward more neutral handbag options for the last decade, which made Vera Bradley wane in popularity a little. Luckily, Vera Bradley has been working to revitalize its image with updated styles, new product lines, and strategic partnerships.

Speaking of partnerships, Vera Bradley has partnered with the NFL to make bags for your favorite teams and tailgate season. You can shop by team here. If you love Disney or know someone who does, they also have a Disney collection!

Multi-Strap Shoulder Bag

The short answer is…yes! But, for reasons you may not think! The New York Post and Refinery 29 wrote all about the brand’s big comeback and how ladies are digging their retired Vera Bradley bags out of the backs of their closets.

With all that being said, please go check out their new items or you can even pull out of your old Vera Bradley duffle bag, crossbody, or lunch box out of storage because they’re on their way back!!

What is in style at Vera Bradley?

Everyday Items

Multi-Strap Shoulder Bag

The medium size of this multi-strap shoulder bag is perfect for every day, and I love all of the pockets and the zip closure. It easily converts from a crossbody to a shoulder bag, so you can get two looks for the price of one! One thing I love about their quilted fabric bags is that they are machine washable, so you can get them looking brand new with a quick throw in the washer.

Charlie Small Shoulder Bag in Leather

This shoulder bag proves that Vera Bradley isn’t all bright colors and signature prints anymore! This classy leather purse comes in several solid colors like sky blue, black, and camel, and it’s roomy enough to hold your every day essentials plus some. I think you could easily fit an iPad or kindle in here or a small umbrella!

Vera Tote Bag

If you need something a little bigger to tote around things like your laptop, work files, notebooks, gym clothes, etc., this tote bag is a fantastic size! Did you know you could get select Vera Bradley products monogrammed for an extra $10? I would totally carry this myself, but I also thought this would be such a cute personalized gift for a college student or a child or grandchild starting their first job!

RFID Jordin Continental Wallet

I don’t know about you gurls, but a nicely organized wallet is a must for keeping me together so I’m not losing my credit card every five seconds! This leather one has room for all of your cards, IDs, and money with 12 card slots, two bill slip pockets, and a secure zip closure.

Travel Bags & Accessories

Triple Zip Hipster Crossbody Bag

I thought this little crossbody bag would be such a great travel companion! Not only does it match every single outfit you could bring with you on your trip (it also comes in navy!), but it has zippered pockets to keep your items safe and secure. My favorite part is the big open pocket on the back that’s the perfect size to hold your phone so you don’t have to dig it out of the bottom of your purse every time it rings!

Grand Hanging Organizer

If you travel often, you need a hanging organizer! They are the best for keeping your sink and counter from being cluttered in a hotel room. This one is large enough to hold full-size bottles. This would also be a great gift for any college students in your life who are stuck using a dorm bathroom!

XL Campus Backpack

If you need a backpack that’s super functional, this extra large one is a perfect pick! It’s super spacious, so you could even take it as a carry-on or overnight bag! The black is the most versatile since it goes with absolutely anything (and your husband can pack it without complaining, LOL!), but you can also find it in several prints and other solid colors.

Accessories

RFID All in One Crossbody Bag

I love a good multi-functional product and this bag is a crossbody, wallet, and wristlet all in one with a simple strap change. This would be great for a travel day since it can keep your cards and phone accessible and safe. It would also be perfect for keeping in your larger purse as a wallet and then you can just grab it out when you need to run in the store quickly!

Lunch Bunch Bag

You can’t tell me you’ve seen a cuter lunch box than this one! This is a great bag for your gurls who work in an office, and if you’re retired, it would be a great bag to pack snacks to take to the park or the pool for your grandbabies!

Knit Robe

I love a fuzzy, fleece robe in the winter, but I have become a fan of thinner knit robes during the hot summer months! This one is so darling, and lightweight enough to keep you from sweating when you’re blowdrying and curling your hair. It’s knee length with 3/4 sleeves, and comes in several other pretty prints!

Fleece Plush Throw Blanket

I’ve had many of these blankets over the years, and they are the best for curling up on the couch and watching a movie! They’re also perfect for keeping in the trunk for an impromptu picnic or for taking with you to a bonfire or outdoor sporting event. They are even great for throwing over your bed on chilly nights when you need an extra layer. I also gave the blankets as Christmas gifts to my neighbors, and they were thrilled with them.

Overall, I think Vera Bradley still has some quality items, especially any of their solid styles and travel pieces. But, I think the brand still has a way to go to get back to its former glory days! What do you think? Would you carry one of their patterned purses today?

I have over 20 Vera bags. My husband said if he sees one more coming in the mail he will be very upset. I told him that if I sell one, I want to buy one.

    1. That’s a great deal. You get a new bag but don’t accumulate more that you don’t use.

  6. A good friend bought me my first set. a turquoise bag purse with wallet then she gave me as gift some of the print ones. I fell in love this was over 15 yrs ago and I now have too many to count of wallets purses backpacks totes. I can’t get enough. love everyone still use everyday even got some other friends and family hooked.

    1. lol! I think this post was meant for you!

  7. Tania,
i like your hair style! Especially in the picture with your dog (looks it’s been blown out). Also the heels you have on sitting on the steps. Would you mind sharing where they’re from?

    1. Those photos are a couple of years old. The heels were from Ann Taylor. I but a lot of my shoes there.

  8. Janice Nagle says:

YAY!Vera Bradley is in style. I love them! what a good reason to clean out the storage closet!

  9. I have been a fan
for many years. We live fairly close and have went to the outlet sale numerous times. I am really loving the new leather bags and always use my quilted when I travel. Love that the bags can be washed – there is nothing worse than seeing a dirty Vera.

  10. Thank you for this post. I have a Vera Bradley wallet from a consignment shop and an overnight bag from my husband’s aunt’s estate. I adore them both! No idea how old the bag is, but her products just last and last so I plan to pass it down to my estate!! And I’m guessing it will still be in style! Love Vera!

  11. Linda Sanders says:

I am a long time Vera Bradley customer, I’ve never stopped purchasing her products. I love them all the bags covers everything she makes. I buy them for myself. I buy them for gifts. I think her products are wonderful and I would definitely recommend them to anybody else.

  12. I do love Vera Bradley but more in the totes and makeup bag look, not so much the purses! Thank you for letting us know it is back in style!! Love the deer!! Sorry about the plants!
    Blessings,

  13. I love Vera Bradley bags. I have many different brands but alway default to my VB ones. They are perfect for every day use and especially when traveling. I have lost count of how many I have. They are the perfect accessory.

  14. I have never carried a brightly patterned Vera purse as they are just not my style. I have a hanging toiletries bag that is navy with pink flamingos from many years ago that I love and still use. Recently bought a navy quilted tote bag that has the outside sleeve to slip over the suitcase handle that is also perfect for travel. I definitely think they are a good quantity brand.

  15. VB’s handbags are just too busy for me. I’m just not a big fan of a lot of prints/patterns. I would get their leather or solid color products, though, they look beautiful!

  16. My daughter loved VB when she was in high school. I’ll have to dig around and see what I still have.

  17. I used to carry VB a LOT but grew tired of the prints and prefer solid colors. Their leather handbags are great. I wish they would come out with more styles/colors in solid color leather. I still use several of their items for travel ie pill box, curling iron case, hanging organizer, cosmetic bags
    Thanks for VB update.

  18. The Vera Bradley throws and beach towels are a win! I have an outlet 10 minutes from me and I have a few towels and throws, plus I’ve given them as gifts. Nice quality. And while I’m not a huge fan of carrying the prints day to day, they are fun . I do have a tote and a backpack I recently used when flying out to see my son. Had plenty of room for a weekend stay and kept everything organized with all the storage pockets , plus there was no added weight of a suitcase…

  19. Vera Bradley prints are so much fun. I have several lanyards for my work ID and office keys. the Charlie bag is my style. I’ll have to check it out.

  20. Ginger Hiller says:

I love your blanket and robe! The short light weight robe is beautiful. While I think their prints are very pretty, they are not something I would use now. I used to love Lily Bloom handbags and was proud to purchase them because they are made from plastic bottles.

  21. There will always be a place in my heart for Vear Bradley. I actually saw some really cute prints recently that I want to purchase for future gifts. (Yes, I am already thinking about Christmas but also birthdays.)

  22. sue koren says:

I use a Vera Bradley bag as a gym bag and have gotten so many compliments on it!

  23. Stella Gustafson says:

    I like the Disney collection

  24. I still love Vera Bradley products. I swear by their wallets. 15 or so years ago, my daughter, two nieces and I made the 12+ hours drive to Indiana for their annual sale! We actually went 3 years in a row and had a blast. I still have a lot of what I bought and still carry the purses from time to time.

  25. I love and still use my Vera Bradley items! My favorite is the weekender bag in a purple paisley which is about 15 years old now. I take quite a few weekend trips throughout the year and it always goes with me!

  26. I still use my Vera bags, especially the older styles that have the nice quilted interiors. Newer ones have a cheaper-feeling nylon/poly interior. So, to me, the older styles are more valuable, and I think the beautiful prints will always be in style. I am carrying a solid navy now and it goes with everything I wear. Love that the bags are so much lighter than leather purses. Let’s’ keep our Veras!

  27. Victoria Vye says:

I always liked their solids best. Their fleece blankets are great and we have a beautiful quilts in our home. I have always been a fan.

  28. Ellen Johnson says:

I still purchase Vera Bradley cross body purses. They are lightweight which is helpful especially if you have problems with your shoulders. I appreciate how organized your bag remains when you’re shopping.

  29. I have a leopard print Vera Bradley tote bag I bought at a good price at the VA commissary store years ago. It’s still in good shape. I never liked the paisley ones. I could never understand their appeal to young women because they looked like a grandma quilt. It looks like they have come a long way.

  30. Krista Preston says:

Always a Vera Bradley fan, just switched to more neutrals

  31. I still love Vera Bradley … great variety of styles, lots of patterns to choose from plus introduction of solid colors, love the organization the interior gives me! Will always be a fan! Thanks for this post!

  32. Jean Lamarre says:

    Hi Tania,
I have several small Vera Bradley bags I use every spring and summer (they don’t like snow)
I always carry her check book size wallet.
    Thanks.

  33. Yep, Joe is surely a keeper!!
lI have owned the large tote for several years and use it as a travel bag if I am going away for a few days. And the lunch bag is so cute- I have gifted a few for women who work in offices.

  34. I have old Vera purses in my closet. I’ll have to dig them out and use them again. And there’s nothing like elastic waist pants to stay comfortable! Thanks for today’s post!

  35. I have a VB computer bag that I still use when I travel. Great size and I feel like it protects my laptop pretty well.

  36. Karen Johnson says:

I’ve enjoyed Vera Bradley over the years in curling iron cases, glass cases and other items. I do like the solid colors now in purses and backpacks

  37. Nice I have a Vera outlet 5min from me

  38. I love Vera Bradley!! I have several items from them.

  39. I love Vera Bradley stuff! I have several Glenna bags and I love the solid colors. I have neck problems and VB products are lightweight. I also have a couple of travel bags. I have bought each of my granddaughters overnight VB bags for their visits to our house.

  40. Linda Shearer says:

I have alot of Vera Bradley and still use alot of it. Well made and light weight. I use my travel bags for non airplane trips. Also everyone in the house has a Vera Bradley blanket!

  41. I always loved their bright prints but never got one. I popped over to the site and took a look. There’s still pretty ones although not as bright. Do they hold up well?

    1. Yes, I’ve never had an issue with any of the products I’ve owned.

  42. I love Vera Bradley and still buy it. I bought a few pieces in April. I love their umbrellas too!

  43. I have quite a few Vera Bradley bags and just received my new weekender bag this week. I ordered a solid black one to go with my prints!

    Love that they are washable!

  44. I still love & regularly use my Vera Bradley lunch box, luggage and totes. I do opt for a neutral purse as I don’t change out often and would rather my purse go with all my business outfits. VB is the best at durability and organization; they are like the Toyota of tote bags!!

  45. Gay Manning says:

Love the Vera Bradley leather bag! Classy👜

  46. Lisa Mary Luciano says:

You answered my question! I often see Vera Bradley bags at the thrift store, and I have wondered if my appetite for colorful purses is outdated.

  47. I am addicted to VB and have gathered quite a collection over the years and own a multitude of VB items and love them all. ❤️

  48. Great post, I like Vera Bradley and have some.

  49. Louise Logan says:

LOVE Vera Bradley!! Never goes out of style. Great quality!!!

  50. it probably depends on where you live, but my 17 year old granddaughter had quite a wish list of Vera Bradley before school started this past year including a lunch box and duffle bag. So I’m thinking the young girls are in on the comeback as well.
I also have a new pair of eyeglasses from my optometrist that are Vera Bradley. The earpieces match the case. Really cute!

    1. It is good to see them get on the younger girls radar.

  51. A couple of years ago I was on a Vera panel that gave detailed feedback on new patterns and products. Twice they sent me a box of new products to use and review. In my opinion their leather bags are lovely. I have three. Then they stopped production for silly reasons. I constantly complained on these panels and am happy to see leather again!

    1. Kathy, I’m with you…I have a bright pink leather bag that I still carry all the time. I love it, and I can’t understand why they stopped making them.

  52. Looks like the back of my closet, yes!
