The older I get, the more I value comfort! That doesn’t mean I want to look sloppy or live in my pajamas! Elastic waist or pull-on pants have a lot of advantages. They are comfortable, as I already mentioned, but they are also easy to put on. No hard buttons to snap or fasten! Both of those are good reasons to buy pull-on pants, but I wouldn’t blog about them unless they had one more attribute – they are fashionable! Or at least the ones I’m sharing. That’s right – today, I’m bringing you the best pull-on pants for women over 50!

Square Neck Tank (Size 1) | Washed Linen Wide Leg Pants (Medium) | Fiesta Tote Alljoy Landing Palm Tree | Flower Earrings Gold | River Club Necklace 17″ Gold

I recently styled this outfit in my Brand To Try: Spartina 449 post, but I didn’t mention the details of what I was wearing. I love the elastic-waist pull-on wide-leg linen pants in Sea Moss (I call them Olive). They have a relaxed and comfortable look to them, pockets, and are available in a couple of other colors.

I paired them with a Square Neck Tank. Square neck tops are trending this year, so you’ll look youthful and stylish in this top. You can wear it alone in this scorching hot weather or layer it under a lightweight top.

Sleeveless Button-Front Top (Medium) | Silky-Soft Full-Leg Crops | Clear Two Strap Wedge (9.5) | Flower Earrings Gold | River Club Necklace 17″ Gold | Gold Tone Beaded Stretch Bracelet

Where are my gurls who love silky, statement styles? These Silky-Soft Full-Leg Crops are made just for YOU! They look great and feel like you are wearing pajamas because they have an elasticized waist. Lol! I call that a win-win!

The Sleeveless Button-Front Top is so soft and comfortable. It has a relaxed fit, so you don’t have to worry about your lumps and bumps showing or it clinging to you. It is 60% cotton and 40% Tencel™ modal knit and machine washable.

Travelers™ Collection Burnout Poncho (S/M) | Travelers Classic Side Slit Tank  (Size 1) | Travelers Classic No Tummy Pants (Size 1) | T-Strap Sandals (9.5) | Gold-Tone Circle Earrings | Convertible Shell Pendant Necklace

The Travelers Classic No Tummy Pants are comfortable enough to sit for hours in a car or plane without any issues. They are stretchy and are pull-on styling with an elastic waist. The No Tummy Pants have small darts in the front to keep from having puckers and gathering issues. I’m wearing my usual size 1, and they fit me perfectly.

I adore the Travelers™ Collection Burnout Poncho!!! It is gorgeous but sheer, so I added the Travelers Classic Side Slit Tank underneath. The poncho has sequins and a shimmery fabric, and the print is bold and makes a huge statement. This is the perfect outfit if you want to shine but in an elegant and subdued way. I’m wearing a S/M in the poncho and a size 1 in the tank.

You should know that I’m a fan of white pants! They just scream summer to me. Available in Bright White, these pants are made from a comfy blend of 55% linen and 45% cotton, making them light and breathable. The easy pull-on elastic waistband with a drawcord makes these pants a breeze to wear, and the wide-leg design adds a touch of style. They come in several colors and are under $30 dollars!

Made from a blend of cotton, polyester, and rayon, these jeans are super soft and stretchy. The elastic waistband with a hidden drawstring means no more tugging or adjusting. They even have designer details like five-pocket styling, contrast stitching, and brass rivets. These jeans look great with everything and won’t fade or sag, no matter how often you wear them.

Okay, okay. Sometimes a gurl just has to wear elastic waist sweatpants. These sweatpants are perfect for lounging, working out, or running errands in style. The wide leg design and loose fit make them incredibly comfy, plus with convenient pockets, you can easily carry your essentials. They are available in over 20 different colors and retail for around $30 dollars. Not bad!

  2. Pam Sande says:

I get inspiration from the outfits that you show in your shopping blogs, making me get more use from my wardrobe items and purchasing some items to complete outfits! Thank you!

  3. Is there a link to the belt in the first picture with the green pants? Thanks

    1. Dee, that particular belt is an old one, I think I got it from Loft.

  4. My feelings about pull on or elastic waist pants is changing….I don’t care what other women wear but they have always been a big no for me. Maybe because there are choices that don’t have that ‘gathered’ look around the waist. Fine on a toddler but not for me. But a few of these have changed my mind. The pair in the first picture for sure. How wide is the belt you are wearing and did I miss a link to that belt? Belts are an issue with me, probably because I’m more a straight figure rather than curves. Thanks.

  5. I only have one black pair of pull-on pants and I like them. I don’t know why I don’t have more!! These are cute!!

  6. Beautiful deer, nothing wrong with being comfortable with these clothes

  7. Great pants and shorts. Another plus is that sometime the buttons and zippers ruin a good nail polish.

  8. Joan Bullington says:

  9. Karen Daniel says:

  15. I LOVE PULL ON PANTS (shorts, jeans, skirts, etc)!!!!!!! I don’t like feeling constricted on my waist, so having an elastic waist is perfect. It always gives and flexes, which makes me feel more comfortable. And I never feel frumpy, because I always get stylish elastic waist bottoms and wear feminine tops. Win win! 🙂

  16. Jenniffer Groski says:

I love a good pull on pant that isn’t sloppy or look like pjs. Going to check out several of these styles.

  17. Ginger Hiller says:

Your driveway is looking so good! Much better than the pan with cooked eggs in it. Larry knows to spray everything with the Dawn Powerwash or he’ll have the wrath of Momma Moose to deal with. I LOVE pull on pants for many reasons. A you’re right, there are some very nice and fashionable styles available now. I have several pairs of pull on linen blend pants from Old Navy that are so comfortable. The Pretty Garden knit short sets on Amazon have an elastic waist and the comfort of them is out of the park. I hope that y’all are staying cool.

  18. I love pull-on pants!!!

  19. It all depends on the style if they are frumpy or not

  20. I think the majority of my pants are pull ons! The comfort and ease of getting on is a win-win for me.

  21. Teresa Cleland says:

I purchased the Travelers Classic No Tummy Pants from Chico’s and although, I like them, do not be fooled by the name. There is nothing about these pants that helps to have no tummy. No panel, nothing.

    1. I think the reason they call them that is because it is a flat front. No pleats or details to draw attention to the tummy area.

  22. Roeli Lutz (Canadian) says:

I love the high waisted pull on pants, covers/hold my tummy
    roll flat…lol

  23. Thank You for showing fashions for those of us who are 50 and over. And that we can still look great..

  24. I wear pull on pants or shorts at home all the time. I have a few pull on ones that are linen and other fabrics that I wear when I go out. You’re right pull on pants don’t have to be frumpy. I think it depends how they are styled too.

  25. Elastic waist pants are so much more comfortable than pants with zippers or buttons. I love to wear them when I am doing chores around the house and am bending and doing heavy
    housework.

  26. Hi Tania,
I’ve had very good luck with JJill pull on pants for length and comfort. Since I’m petite, they fit where they should, and the waistband does not curl, which is an important feature for comfort!
