Trendy Tops for Women Over 50: Fall 2024
As we wait for the leaves to change and for pumpkin spice everything to take over, it’s the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe with some cozy and stylish pieces. I love that there are so many affordable pieces that make it possible for women over 50 to upgrade their closets without breaking the bank. Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite fall Amazon tops from last season, and some new blouses, sweaters, and shirts that I think you’ll love for fall 2024.
Here are some other reads to help you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall:
Trendy Tops for Women Over 50 for Fall 2024
Leopard Print
After learning that leopard print was trending this season, I knew I needed to be on the hunt for a few pieces to add to my closet. I love a good button-down top because of their versatility, and this lantern sleeve one will look great dressed up or down for fall. I will also look cute tied at the waist with a high-waisted skirt or over a dress. Don’t worry… if you don’t love leopard print, you can grab it in over 20 colors and prints!
Rust Red
I own this short sleeve cable knit in another color, but I love it so much that I couldn’t resist adding the rust red to my cart! I think it looks so much more expensive than it is. Plus, it has held up well with washing and drying. This is a great transition piece you can start wearing now if you’re itching to pull out your fall colors and textures since the short sleeves will keep you cool and comfy.
Black and White Cardigan
This striped cardigan is a cozy, lightweight option for cooler weather, made from soft, stretchy fabric. The relaxed fit and versatile design with a V-neck and button-down front make it perfect for layering. It’s easy to pair with jeans or a dress for any occasion, from casual days to more polished looks. Plus, it’s a breeze to care for—wash in cold water and hang to dry. A great go-to for your fall wardrobe!
This genuine suede leather tote bag by Fossil offers a chic blend of style and function. It features two open compartments, a center zipper section for easy organization, and a back slide pocket for quick access. With metal feet for stability, tote handles, and an adjustable crossbody strap, it’s easy to switch up your look. It’s a great medium size and perfect for carrying all your essentials.
Fall Florals
This floral print cardigan in a lovely Apricot hue is the perfect blend of style and comfort! The slightly boxy fit adds a relaxed vibe, while the V-neck and button-down design keep it chic and versatile. I’m wearing a medium, and it’s a great fit for layering over your favorite tops. The soft, cozy knit fabric is perfect for cooler days in spring, fall, and winter.
This cardigan’s fall floral pattern adds a feminine touch to any outfit. It pairs effortlessly with jeans, leggings, or even dresses, making it a versatile piece for both casual days and more dressed-up occasions. A great addition to brighten up your wardrobe!
Textured Cardigan
This medium brown textured cardigan is versatile and chic. Made from 100% acrylic, it has a soft, textured knit that feels warm and comfortable against the skin. The classic design features a round neck, long sleeves, and ribbed cuffs and hem, making it easy to style up or down. The gold accent buttons add a touch of elegance, perfect for dressing up your everyday look. Whether buttoned or open, this cardigan pairs beautifully with jeans, pants, skirts, or dresses.
Collared Sweater
Oversized sweaters will always have their place, but a fitted sweater like this is such a classic and chic look. I love this beautiful blue color, but you can also grab it in classic fall colors like wine, beige, and chocolate brown. Most ribbed items run small, so I ordered this in a large, and I like the fit. It is a tiny bit big on me, but that works since it won’t show my lumps and bumps. Haha!
More Trendy Tops and Sweaters For Fall
This oversized sweatshirt is another “designer inspired item” since it looks very similar to a best-selling sweatshirt from Anthropologie. I think it looks so cozy to throw on for a chilly fall day for sitting around a bonfire, window shopping around your town, or even just cuddled up on the couch to watch your favorite show!
We’ve seen a lot of eyelet items over the past year, but I’m not upset about it! I think they bring a feminine, delicate touch to any outfit, and they add the perfect amount of texture. Isn’t this eyelet blouse cute? I love navy year-round, but if you’re looking for fall colors, check out the army green shade instead.
The reviews on this cap sleeve sweater say it’s lightweight enough to wear in the summer, so it would serve as a great transition piece! It reminds me of some of the sweater vests I’ve been living in, but it has a little extra shoulder and arm coverage for those of you who don’t like this area of your body. It comes in every color under the sun, so you can go for a pop of color, or you can opt for a neutral like this cream.
This long sleeve shirt is a must-have for anyone who loves their basics, but craves a little something extra. The smocked puff sleeves and front pleats add a sweet feminine flair, making it the perfect blend of casual and chic. Whether you’re dressing it down for a laid-back day or styling it up for a special occasion, this shirt has you covered!
Casual Trendy Tops for Women Over 50 for Fall
Lulu-who? This top is inspired by a very popular workout brand’s pullover. The difference is that this one is under $30, and their version is over $100! This would be perfect for throwing on over your workout tank on the way to the gym, running to the grocery, or hanging around the house.
Do you all remember shackets? It seems they are here to stay for another year. I talked in this post about how western wear is going to be trending this fall, and this corduroy shacket screams western to me! I’m loving chocolate browns for fall this year, but it’s also so cute in the rust shade.
There are so many fun ways to style this top! Picture it under a blazer for a polished look at church or the office, paired with some Western-style booties for a cute date night outfit, or kept casual with comfy jeans and Birkenstocks for a relaxed weekend vibe. It’s one of those pieces that can easily go from day to night.
I tried to find tops that you can wear now during the end of summer and on into the fall and winter. This top is a great option to wear now while it’s still warm, and the half-sleeve won’t make it too bulky to wear under a cardigan or jacket in a few months. I love pairing this color with white or with black. Both are a classic color combination that looks stylish and chic!
Trendy Tops for Women Over 50 for Fall
This Floral Babydoll Blouse would be absolutely stunning now with a pair of denim shorts and then with your favorite jeans! Keeping with the western theme, you could even pair it with a pair of cowboy boots and a fringe handbag.
I love a slouchy sweater, especially in the fall. This olive green Lightweight Loose Tunic Top screams fall!!! The tops come in many colors and can be worn on or off the shoulder, depending on your preference! Wearing a Camisole Tank Top with Built-in Shelf Bra under it lets you feel more at ease with it slipping off your shoulders.
Tank tops make perfect layering pieces to wear beneath cardigans and transitional fall jackets, especially if you get hot easily! This Leopard Print Tank is the perfect pick since I’m looking for more leopard print for fall. I like that it’s not such an obvious animal print and looks more like the offspring of a polka dot and a leopard print.
Burnt orange and rust are always super popular for fall. They’re rich, cozy colors that look so good paired with neutral shades like creams, camels, tans, etc. I’m picturing a denim jacket and ankle boots with this top, but wearing a pair of black trousers and mules would also be cute!

Oh my goodness, what gorgeous tops! You knocked it out of the ballpark with these.
Your chaning clothes in your car is truly brave! Back “in the day”, my girls went to Christian School and I was working a sales job. Headed to school/work, my daughter proclaimed she had a run in her panty hose. .at the next stoplight, I removed mine and traded with her…what moms do.
Lol! That is such a cute story!!!
I love the fall colors! Long sleeves – jeans and boots!!! Pumpkin bread or pumpkin pancakes – driving up north seeing the colors change. Gods handiwork!

You look fabulous in the rust red short sleeve top! It’s a beautiful picture in every way. Well, I have been saying that until I see what fall clothes I have stored in the attic I wasn’t going to order any clothes. Then this post comes along and I see at least three tops I want to order. Thank you for sharing some great options!

I’m new to the blog and new to 50! (My 50th was in April) I’m not going to lie – turning 50 hurts a little! This blog made me realize 50 can still be beautiful. Thanks for the new perspective 💕
Welcome, Tammy! 50 is not bad at all, and neither is 60. Lol!

It’s supposed to be 93 for a high starting mid week. That’s like a cold front for us and a relief from this 100 degrees weather.
Some lovely tops here, thanks!
Cute tops.
Gosh! The sacrifices you make to make sure your followers get a great post! almost naked modeling/ it may become a thing! But, thanks for your effort because it paid off. Lots of great fall and seasonal transition options . Thanks!
Love the oversized sweatshirt! Such a great price too!
Cuteness!!!!!!
Beautiful fall blouses-thanks for such a great selection
Could you please tell me what size you are wearing in the short sleeve cable knit (rust) sweater?
I went in and updated the post to show that I’m wearing a large.
Please remember to tell us what size you are modeling. The first two items lack that.
I’ve fixed that now.
What a great round-up! Where were you that you had to change in the car? Oh the things you go through for us! Lol.
It is a gated community at the golf club we are members of. It is beautiful in this spot, so I take photos there a lot.
One thing I know for sure is Animal Print will never go out of style. My mama, who just turned 100, made my clothes. I must have been about 6 or 7 and she made a beautiful taupe dress coat. She covered the buttons in animal print and she made a tam out of the animal print. She put a tab on the side in animal print.
Cute, cute tops!
The chocolate brown cardigan went right into my cart and it’s on its way to my house! I love the dark brown and it is a color I haven’t purchased in years! Thanks for your hard work and risking your dignity on the side of the road in front of your neighbors….lol
Great tops. Really like the animal prints. My Amazon cart stays full thanks to you. LOL LOL
Love these fall colors. Will definitely have to buy some more animal print tops. Love the leopard print blouse. Looks very classy.
Love the richness of the fall colors.
Loving the leopard and western trends for fall!
Love the leopard shirt! Lots of cute choices! I love fall!
Tania- Get yourself a Pop Up Pod from Amazon. They are under $30 and you won’t have to pull your pants up in the street.
Crystal, I have one, but I don’t like using it. Lol!
Hello Tania,
I love the very first sweater in this post (short-sleeve cable knit sweater). I ordered it in the hot pink color in my normal size medium. The fabric is so soft and the style is super-cute. However, I’m not sure how it’s supposed to fit. It almost feels a touch small. As I look at your photo and see how it looks on you, I’m wondering if I should size up.
What is your experience in sizing with this item?
Thank you!
If you want a more oversized look, then size up. I have it in a medium also, but I like the oversized, roomy fit of the large best.
I recently subscribed . I am most taken with your beautiful styling of clothes and your humor. I appreciate how pretty you are too, of course! Makes me envious!
But the best part of reading your page is at the end with the Bible verse.
Thank you for adding them. They make my day.
I am thrilled that you are enjoying my posts!
Thank You for showing all the options. I work from home now most of the time and need casual tops.
Great top options for fall!
I will take one of each, all cute!
Love the eyelet blouse
What size did you order in the rust short sleeved sweater?
I have that sweater in medium and large. I’m wearing a large in the rust colored one.
Great post! PSL dropped at Starbuck’s this week so these sweaters and tops will go well with it! Thanks for sharing all of these fun tops and sweaters. The short sleeved cable sweater with the collar is my favorite.
Great top picks today 😍
Great selection of tops! I have several in my shopping cart now. There were mixed reviews regarding sizing of the leopard top. What size are you wearing?
Beth, I was wearing a large, but I needed a medium.
So many cute options! And thank you for sharing your glamourous modeling adventures. I was chuckling when thinking about you changing in the car and watching for traffic. Your sacrifices are appreciated.😉
And, sometimes dodging traffic. Lol! It is a blast but can be HOT and exhausting.
Love this roundup of fall blouses! The eyelet one comes in my favorite color, kelly green!
I had a good laugh thinking of you and the things you do to get styles to us. I love the variety of choices you have given us today. Keep on being the real Tania you are!
It is always interesting. 🤨
Many cute tops to pick from in this post.
What size are you wearing in the short sleeve cable knit sweater?
In wearing a large. I also have that sweater in a medium, and both fit fine.
