2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Haul, Pt. 2

It is time for Pt.2 of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try On Haul! If you missed my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Haul, Pt. 1 post, be sure to check it out also. I don’t have a Nordstrom near me, so I never get to take advantage of some benefits of being a Nordy member. One of those benefits is having a stylist who will pull the clothing for you and have it waiting in a dressing room. Wow!!! Talk about saving a ton of time. I shopped the Nordstrom at the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, and Liz was my stylist. Be sure to ask for her if you are in the area; you’ll love her!

For Sizing Reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, and I usually wear between an 8-10 in jeans, a medium or a large in tops, and a size 12 in dresses.

I wanted to start this post with my favorite outfit. I love everything about this look! The leopard print top is the same one that I wore in yesterday’s post with the ivory leather jacket. It looks fabulous with the chocolate faux suede jacket and dresses up the entire outfit. I’ve become a huge fan of Mother jeans, except for the price. I take advantage of these sales to get the jeans at a discount. These jeans run small, so I sized up one size.

I kept on the faux suede jacket and switched the top for a cashmere sweater. Cashmere is another item that I buy when I catch it on sale. I prefer a v-neck option, but since it isn’t on sale, I purchased the sweater in crewneck instead. Here is another pair of Mother jeans; I told you I was a fan!

Vince Cashmere Jacket (Size Medium) – Sold out except for Plus Size || Short Sleeve Organic Cotton Blend Rib Top (Small) || Windowpane Plaid Wide Leg Trousers (Size Medium) || Linsi 75 Block Pump (Size 9.5)

The first two outfits came home with me with the exception of the block heel pumps. I already have a pair of Marc Fisher pumps that look almost identical, so I left those in the store. The only thing that came home with me from this outfit is the short sleeve sweater. It was so soft, and felt so good against my skin that I couldn’t resist.

Leopard Print Bow Blouse ( Size Medium) || Ponte Midi Skirt (Medium) || Clear Two Strap Wedge (Size 9.5)

If you are in need of a professional outfit, this one is gorgeous. I LOVE this skirt, and it came home with me. It is such a versatile and classic silhouette that I know I’ll get a lot of wear from it. I like the first leopard print top the best, so I left this one in the store.

I added this fun, furry, and extremely soft faux shearling coat to the look. This was one of those items I kept trying to talk myself out of buying, but it ended up coming home with me. It looked so cute that one of the ladies that was shopping with me ended up buying the coat too. Lol!

Here is that versatile, soft sweater that I talked about earlier. It looked great with these checked straight-leg trousers.

Open Front Longline Cardigan (Medium) || Cowl Neck Sleeveless Top (Large) || Plaid Midi Skirt (Large – too big for me) || Clear Two Strap Wedge (Size 9.5)

I ended up purchasing the long black cardigan, but the rest of this outfit didn’t make the cut. The color was not great for me, and the skirt was too big.

Cowl Neck Sleeveless Top (Large) || Plaid Midi Skirt (Large – too big for me) || Clear Two Strap Wedge (Size 9.5)

Here is a better look at the outfit without the cardigan. I liked the cowl neck top’s design and the fact that it could be easily layered. But, I really didn’t have a need for the top. It also comes in black or ivory if the bright camel color isn’t for you either.

Did you guess that this outfit came home with me? You might notice that I’m purchasing more and more casual clothing. My lifestyle has changed, and I don’t dress up as often as I used to. Jeans and a nice top are how I usually dress, and this outfit suits me perfectly. The top is very soft and silky, and can be easily dressed up or down.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! If you are like me, you always have a need for a black dress. This dress is one that can be worn for any occasion, and I love the button-up design.

I wanted to show you how the dress would look with a long cardigan, so I added the almond-colored Barefoot Dreams one. Barefoot Dreams has become a brand that I purchase from the Nordstrom Sale, and I’ve even made my mom a fan.

I already own this Barefoot Dreams Lounge set, and I live in it in the winter. This color has sold out, but there are two other options still available. If you’ve never tried Barefoot Dreams, you will be amazed at how soft and comfy their clothing is.

Staton Single Breasted Plaid Blazer (Size Large) || Mock Neck Rib Sweater (Large) || Wool Trousers (Size 12, runs small)

The last outfit of the day is an elevated casual look. The mock neck sweater came home with me, but the blazer and the trousers stayed at the store. I already have a similar blazer, and the trousers didn’t fit me correctly. The trousers run very small, and I kept having to change sizes. The size 10 was too small, and the size 12 was too big through the waist. These are an investment pair of pants, and I wouldn’t buy them if they didn’t fit perfectly.

  1. Elizabeth says:

The coat dress was a good look on you. Hope you bought it!

  2. Love the post. My favOrite item was the black coat dress. Of course it’s sold out. My next favorite is the double breasted blazer. I know I’ll get to wear it a lot. Thank you for narrowing the choices down.

  3. You are so fortunate to have a sister. I do not. I have always wanted one. I was blessed with daughters though, so I am fortunate also.

  4. the long sleeved peasant blouse with the high waist jeans, and the button-down dress are my favorites on you, I might just have to be mine as well haha.
I’m in the middle of three girls and yes we do still tease each other now and then. but I don’t pop them one because I’m a martial artist and they are not, and it would not be good.LOL!!

  5. Everything looked good but the leopard print blouse and the pointe midi skirt looked exceptional.

  6. Lots of great looks!! That pencil skirt outfit is fabulous on you!
No sisters, I’m oldest with three younger brothers, so no thumping 😂.

  7. My favorites are the brown jacket, black coat dress and the black skirt. You look so sharp. I like the flare jeans too. Some of the clothes look like what I already have except for the coat dress. I remember wearing them in the late 80s and 90s. Hope they come back.

  8. Cathy Stone says:

My sister is my best friend! We rarely ever disagree! And thank you for posting about these amazing leggings on Amazon. So soft and they fit perfectly!

  9. When my sister and I were younger we would really get on each other’s nerves, but now we are besties.

  10. I’m the oldest of 5 siblings. My sister & I are very close, but, unfortunately, my 3 brothers do not keep in touch at all—kind of sad.

  11. Aren’t siblings the reward we never saw coming? After years of torture, fights, frustration and laughter, we grow up to find we have best friends that share all our memories and love us, even knowing all our flaws. And who STILL know how to push our buttons!!!!

  12. You look awesome in every! Great try on haul!
    Youngest of 5! Daddy’s princess! 👸🙂

  13. Oh & im a middle sis of 2 sisters, the 3 of us are as close as we can be. Driving distance is 15hrs., they are in Minnesota I just flew to see them for the 4th holiday. Had a great time.

  14. Beautiful Nordstrom clothing, classics!

  15. Deidre Oliver says:

Funny – I liked the same things you liked and disliked the ones you did as well. All the favorites are sold out. And I struggle with being a petite – they don’t offer much that I like.

For a laugh: Yesterday my 9 year old granddaughter was asking me about things from my youth and said “What was _____ like back when you were alive?” Still laughing over that one!

I was the oldest of 6 children: 4 boys and 2 girls. Some of us are close, some are more on the reclusive side.

  16. I love the ivory faux shearling coat! 💕😍 I have two older sisters and a younger brother. My brother and I are the closest in age, so we tend to harass each other more than we do our older sisters.

  17. I would have passed right by those window pane wide pants and am so glad you tried them on for me! They are adorable. It’s so useful to see how things look on you. I also put the black midi skirt in my cart…

  18. That black coat dress!!!! Looks great. I love it & it’s in my wishlist in case they restock.
Middle of 5 sibs. Unfortunately we are not close 🙁

  19. I enjoy reading your posts. You’re great at putting outfits together. You look good in jeans as well as a dress. My mom had 9 kids. 6 girls and 3 boys. I was number 8. I have wonderful childhood memories. We talk on zoom every other week. We tease each other too. Thank you for all the work you do on your blog.

  20. Love the black dress… so perfect for you!

  21. Chris Falk says:

I have 2 younger siblings, a sister and a brother. I’m 4 years older than my sister and 6 years older than my brother. You can definitely say I tortured them when we were kids. Buhahaha!! Fortunately we are close as adults, although we live hundreds of miles from each other. I met my husband when we were 16 and he took over as the teaser to my siblings. he would short sheet my sister’s bed and made lots of dry, humorous comments over the years. It took my family a long time to get used to that type of humor levied at them. 🤣

  22. Gurl, I have six brothers and two sisters, so I know a little bit about sibling rivalry! My brothers “taught” me to swim by throwing me in the deep end of the pool and telling me to kick my legs really fast, LOL! I’m number 8 of the 9 and we’re close now but I have some stories to tell. Love your blog and wish you a great day.

  23. Love the coatdress – so stylish and ready for a fun evening out or lunch with the girls. Thanks for all the lovely inspirations for new outfits! I love my siblings and although we’ve all grown up, they still tease and harass me (and I gladly return the favor 😉). Enjoy your day!

  24. The jeans and blue top towards the end of your post are my favorites. My lifestyle has changed, too, and I love dressing jeans up or down!
And yes, my little brother and still do things to each other, lol!

  25. Everything you tried on is super cute on you! Thank you for your blog Tania, I’ve gotten some really good ideas from you! On another note, I received a check in the mail today from you…..thank you very much. I’m loving R & F!

  26. sue koren says:

I have one brother – a twin. We love to find each other the most insulting birthday card that we can find. It’s a family joke!

  27. Kathleen OBrien says:

thanks for showing us all the wonderful offerings at the sale. also, never imagined about using a stylist that’s great. and yes, loved to tease my brothers and they me, however at this age not so much!

  28. Tania, you look great in that black coat dress! I, also like the furry coat! It was a good blog, you showed a lot of different clothes and they all were nice and looked good on you. I have 3 sisters, we have a lot of fun when we’re together. I wouldn’t trade them for anything ❤️

  29. I love the Barefoot Dreams lounge set! Very cozy! I have one sister & one brother. We don’t give each other too bad of a time, just once in a while!

  30. I love a couple of the outfits I would have so bought them

I have one sister she is younger than me. Wish I could get to dress nice. She is one that wears the slouchy farm grandma look. Me I love to look good where ever I go. And I don’t go out without makeup. Sometimes it a full face others it’s just concealer and mascara and lip gloss. Just depends on where I am going the basic makeup is for the gym. Yes I wear makeup to the gym

  31. Lori Thomas says:

I love those jeans on you they look great! I also love them paired with the peasant blouse, that is my type of dressing. Of course you look great in everything! Enjoy our day!

  32. I just love the shearling coat! Oh my! That may be coming to my house soon.

I am an only child so I could only harrass myself. Ha!

  33. Amy Kaiser says:

How do you choose? You look great in everything! I love the casual outfits with jeans! That’s my style too!! The blue peasant blouse is my fav!!! And the long black cardigan ❤️

  34. I love that black coat dress but sadly it is sold out! I am the oldest of six sisters and we frequently find we have bought the same things though miles apart. Fun times!

  35. Looking great in your favorite outfit and all, some great looks for you!

Yes, I have two sisters and together we love to laugh and share silly pranks. Sisters make the best friends.

  36. I’m the middle of three girls.

Love the coat dress. It fits you perfect.

I was able to place my Nordstrom order this morning. Everything I wanted was still available. YAY!

  37. I’m glad you were able to shop at Nordstrom! I have 4 sisters, but we all live several hundred miles apart.

  38. Sharon Neff says:

I have a little brother and he was a real stinker when we were young. But we’re close now, with a little harassing now and then.
Really like the black skirt and the faux suede jacket.

  39. Love having a stylist do the shopping for me. Like you, we don’t have a Nordy in town. Many work appropriate outfits in this try-on. Much appreciated!

  40. CyndeeKay🌻 says:

Love both the coat dress and black skirt! Since retiring from teaching, I don’t need professional wear, but you look great in both.
Yes, I have two brothers. My older brother teased me a lot growing up. And now my much younger brother (14 yrs younger) teases me, but I love them both.

  41. Love the black coat dress. Sadly it’s sold out.

I have a brother that is 3 years older than me. We have gotten along our whole lives. Now we laugh and joke about growing up and things in life now. We live in different states so see each other once a year.

  42. I can dress casual for work–love the peasant blouse w/ jeans this is how I dress most of the time!

  43. Kathy Dolan says:

That black coat dress on you was exceptional!!!! Hope you got that one!

  44. Linda white says:

I loved all the outfits and especially the lounge outfit. 😁 It would be fun shopping for clothes with you. Have a safe trip home. 🙏🏻💕

  45. I have 3 sisters and we have a ball together

  46. Love the Cashmir coat outfit, the coat dress, and the peasant blouse. I also notice that as I get older, I dress more casually and comfortably vs. suit with heels every day.

I am the oldest of 4. My two brothers I am close to, but my younger sister we all think gets away with murder.

  47. Love the Cashmir coat outfit, the coat dress, and the peasant blouse. I also notice that as I get older, I dress more casually and comfortably vs. suit with heels every day.

  48. Loved the little checked trousers today! I have one sister, she is 11 years older so we were like two different families. Thanks for todays looks.

  49. Loved many looks (especially the windowpane skirt outfit!)…I am kicking myself for not snagging the clear wedges on Prime yesterday! I ALWAYS love them when you style them and just forgot to pull the trigger last night!

  50. Glad you had a fun trip and save travels home.

  51. Hi Tania-
Thanks for such a great post today! Loved so many of these outfits on you!
Your story with your sister sounded so cute! I grew up in a family with 4 kids. I wish my siblings and I were that close. I do have some friends that are quite close so I guess it all works out.
    Have a safe drive home!

  52. Sharon Steinhoff Smith says:

I LOVE the long sleeve coat dress – just my style. But I’m like you. I don’t have that many dress-up opportunities these days, so I guess it’s a good thing that it was sold out!

PS – I (63) grew up with 7 siblings, 2 parents, and a grandmother all in the same small farmhouse. While that’s hard to imagine these days, it was an idyllic childhood. A Minnesota version of Mayberry. To this day, my brothers and sisters are my best friends.

  53. You look fabulous in the long sleeve coat dress! Not surprised it is already sold out. Thank you for taking the time to show so many different brands and styles.

  54. Terri Schrot says:

You look gorgeous in the black coat dress. It looks like it was made for you!!! I’m in the middle of 5 kids with 17 years between the oldest and youngest. My poor mama thought she’d never get kids out of her house!!! Love your blog and all the hard work you do finding great looking clothes for all budgets!

  56. Great selection of outfits. I have two sisters, one is gone now, but remembering the days that the three of us laughed at the silliest things.

  57. Good morning 🌞
Yes, I have siblings, in fact one is my twin sister. We all enjoy one another.
Favorite outfit today was the black coat dress!!

  58. Cindy Hutcherson says:

Loved today’s try on! You had a great combination of casual and work wear to choose from!
    Ashland, VA

  59. Great haul!! I loved most everything. You look great. That long skirt is amazing on you!! I loved that look.

I am the oldest of 2 children. My brother is two years younger than I am. We have always been close. He is one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me.

Yes, we thrive on giving one another a hard time. ☺️

  60. Love that black dress! I am the middle child, only girl. I have a brother that is 11 months older and a younger brother that is 6 years younger. My younger brother was my baby brother and we got along. My older brother and I fought like cats and dogs and my mom said she wouldn’t leave us alone for fear we’d kill each other! HA! However, that changed as we got older, and I ended up working for him for about 8 years. Love both of my brothers!

  61. Rheana Corirossi says:

the first outfit is PERFECT . I can see why it’s your favorite.

  62. Love barefoot dreams-so cozy!

  63. I’m an only child and always wanted a big brother. Consequently, my poor daughter got very little sympathy from her mom when her big brother picked on her as a child! Thanks for the wonderful try-on pics!

  64. Laura Gray says:

Love these outfits! Thank you for sharing a variety of outfits!

  65. Sibs? Yes, sisters! The BEST! One is short (5’2″) and two of us are tall (5’7″). When we galavant, we tease the shorter sis that she can’t keep up with us. We once told her to “grow a pair” (LEGS!) which had us practically on the floor at the supermarket….in laughter. The night re-stock person said, “I’ll have what you girls are having!” Too funny!

  66. Barb Broeckelman says:

I love the olive faux leather jacket with the leopard top. You have great taste in clothing and always look fabulous!
I am the middle of 3 girls but we’re each 5 years apart and we definitely have different interests but I love them both and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

  67. SO many great items in this haul! Thanks for sharing and I hope you had fun with your sister.

  68. Technically I have a full blood sister and brother but I was adopted and raised as an only child. Always wished I had siblings to fight with 😉

  69. Love the suede jacket and the outfit with the cashmere sweater! I adore cashmere! Both of those outfits are my favorites on you.

  70. Lori Gorenflo says:

I have 2 brothers and one is gone now just a few months ago. But we always picked on each other growing up and even as adults. Love your blog and appreciate all the work you put into it.

  71. Cheryll Sampson says:

I had one sibling, a brother, almost five years younger than I. When he was born and I was asked did I want to see my new baby brother, I told them to send him back, that I did not want him! We tormented each other in childhood, but he was my best friend until he passed away two years ago from surgery complications.

  72. So much to love in this post. That suede jacket is GREAT! The peasant top is sooo cute (and the pic from the website would NEVER have caught my eye!). And you look amazing in the pencil skirt!

  73. PS- the button up dress is sold out. Boo hoo

    1. Sharon, put the dress in your wish list and they will notify you of it comes back in stock.

  74. I have 3 older brothers and they love to harrass me! I am the baby and they seem to think I’m spoiled (who me? LOL).

  75. Sherre Vaughn says:

I love every item in this post! But my favorite is that MIDI skirt! PLEASE tell me they are making a big comeback! My brother is 7 years older than me and we only get to see each other about once a year but we IMMEDIATELY start picking on each other the second we see each other!

  76. Judy Thompson says:

Love these options, thanks so much for sharing your try on! I love the Barefoot Dreams set especially, but obviously a lot of other people do too as it’s sold out already. 😢 Glad you got some great deals!

  77. Linda Niver says:

I am new to your blog! I have enjoyed your blog and I am from Kansas.

  78. Monika Schmitt says:

    Super cute outfits!

  79. my sister is 5 years younger but is very sensitive so bot much picking on her. however, I do try to boss her alot though.

  80. Love the black coat dress and the shearling coat. The coat dress seems to be sold out already. It’s clearly a winner. You look great!!

  81. Really like the shearling coat. It looks so snuggly!

  82. Another great post! First of all, I’m noticing that you look fantastic in a mono chromatic style…very slimming and elevated style..so glad you bought the jeans and peasant top..
The black dress is fantastic! You look like a million bucks in that!
Have a great day…I’m ordering that peasant top for sure(unless it’s sold out!)

  83. Great pieces! I have an identical twin sister and we have a younger sister and then a younger brother. Oh yes, we harass each other, all in good fun!!

  85. Great. outfits! love that black skirt!

  86. I have a brother and we still like to pester each other. we are 65 and 67 🤣 That black coat dress looks great on you!

  87. I have 6 brothers and 1 sister … I am #2. When we were young, we harassed each other always. Now, more-so since our parents passed away, we rarely see each other 🙁

  88. My Sister and I were 2 years apart…..she liked to read and sew…..I liked to ride my bike and play with dolls! Today, we haven’t seen each other since before covid…..living a distance apart…..her being busy with her life and I with mine! We still have the thread of being Sisters!
Would love to go shopping with my Sister!

  89. Danialle Vesser says:

What fun for you! Perimeter is my go to mall as well. Hope you have had fun here! Safe travels!
( also, I appreciate you don’t shy away from the Word!)

  90. Love the peasant blouse and jeans outfit. Shearling coat is a winner too!

  91. Tania, your outfits were well put together and you tried them on perfectly. I liked the choices you made on your take home items. !!

  92. Good morning, I have 3 sisters but one is in heaven. I am the oldest and we sure fought growing up. They are my closest friends and support now that we are older.

  93. Hope Matchniff says:

Hi there! My only sibling is a half brother who is sadly not interested in a relationship with me, but God has given me a few very close friends that are more like sisters…. and YES Ma’am we act just like y’all do. Have a blessed day.

  94. Jane DeVries says:

    Hi Tania,

Perimeter Mall’s Nordstrom is my store-I would have loved to run into you and your sister there.

I love your finds and appreciate the feedback re: sizes, styles, color, etc.

I have one sister; and while I’d like to have a relationship with her unfortunately that is not our reality. Looks like your family is very loving and fun!

  95. Cynthia Powers says:

All of these outfits look good on you, very slimming. I love Nordstroms for quality. Just wish they carried more petite.

  97. Oh my I wish I had a Nordstroms near me, what beautiful clothes, and that black sweater dress was outstanding unfortunately it is sold out. So many clothes I could pick from this selection just wow! Great job!

  98. Becky Kerwin says:

My look has been casual for years now so I’m glad to see you trying on more casual outfits!! Thank you!

  99. Thanks for sharing the Nordstrom sale with us!! I love that store, but don’t have one near me, so I forget to shop online! Thanks again! love your style!!

  100. Dana Smithmier says:

love all of these!! i have a brother that i was always pulling pranks on!

  101. I have a older sibling. We don’t see each other much so we don’t harass each other. Looks like your family has a lot of fun! Love today’s outfits… great post!

  102. Stephanie says:

Such a funny story about your sister!! My brother is 15 months younger than me and we grew up with one bathroom. We were always harassing each other — and especially when it came to time in the bathroom. I would stay in as long as I could in the mornings just to get him all worked up Sounds silly now! Lol!
    Love your Nordstrom looks!

  103. Great options! Love your site. It has really given me style confidence in my 60’s.

  104. Connie R. says:

I have a brother and three sisters who are not only my siblings but good friends too. God blessed me with a large family to grow up in. Many fun times! You looked great in the outfits. Most too dressy for my daily wear.

  105. The coat dress and the faux suede jacket are the bomb!!! Love!

  106. Loved your post today!!!! As for your question: I have an older sibling. For the first time in our lives we are taking a vacation together. We are both really excited but I hope we don’t fight, haha!!!!

  107. My favorite outfit on you is the long sleeve coat dress. I can see how you would get lots of wear out of the black dress. When you wear a dress like that in colder weather, do you wear hosiery?

    1. Not usually, Rhonda. But, I will wear tights if it is really cold.

  108. That black dress! I hope it went home with you!

      1. Love Nordstrom’s as much as you do!

  109. Thank you for great info!

  110. Dianne Enos says:

I just love your blogs and your biblical quotes!!!!🥰🙏🏻

  111. Robin Staley says:

You look great. Are u losing weight?? I love the LBD.

    1. No. 🙄 I’ve gained about 10 lbs, and my sister just went to get me a donut 🍩
