Welcome to What’s Happening Saturdays. I have found that I have a lot to say and share, so on Saturday, I’ll write a blog post that can include more of everything.
Life Update
Grandbabies are fun, they said. Have “they” met Hadrian?!?
This little stinker is getting more active by the day. He’s army crawling everywhere, pulling up on furniture, trying to steal whatever food you’re eating, and apparently showing his love just a little too aggressively. Just look at what those tiny fingernails did to my nose!
Guess who is coming to my house this morning for me to watch ALL DAY? Lol! Last Sunday, I was trying to keep up with him while also cooking our family dinner, and I quickly realized that something had to change. So, I did what any reasonable grandmother would do…I ordered a fence for my living room. Lol!
Technically, I think they call it a playpen, but let’s not kid ourselves. I’m corralling that baby.
Now, after looking at my nose, I’m thinking I might need some protective gear for myself, too. Maybe one of those fencing masks to keep his prying little fingers away from my face.
Hahaha! Can you imagine Hadrian’s reaction if I walked into the room wearing THIS?!?
I’m beginning to think the fence might not be for Hadrian after all. Maybe NeeNee needs to get inside it. 😂

Because WordPress is still acting up, you’ll see the items I picked all in a row with a tiny arrow that allows you to scroll through the items. That arrow is so hard to see, so I’ve highlighted it in the photo below. It is always in the same spot, so even if you can’t see it, you can still tap it or swipe right to left to make it work. Talbots
Talbots has 25% off regular price sitewide this week; the discount is applied in your bag, so it’s worth shopping the new arrivals instead of just the clearance corner. I’m especially into the leopard car coat and this sweater; they’ve got just enough color to feel fun without being loud.
Chico’s
Chico’s is running $50 off $200 or more online only, which stacks nicely on full-price new arrivals. This is one of Chico’s best collections in a while!
Nordstrom
The Anniversary Sale is over, but that doesn’t mean all the savings are gone. I found a lot of great items, like this handbag that seems to be a bottomless pit that holds everything!
J.Jill
J.Jill’s summer sale is an extra 40% off already-marked-down styles, and I found this pretty little floral tee that’s a nice bridge piece between summer and fall.
Loft
LOFT is taking 30% off fresh styles, and TODAY ONLY, 50% off tops and sweaters, price as marked. This striped blazer is giving very “new season, new collection”; it’s oversized in the best way. I had one very similar to this years ago, and I wore it all the time.
Tommy Bahama
Tommy Bahama still has items on sale; they just don’t advertise it on their website. But I did some digging for you and still found some nice items in stock. I included a couple of items that would be great Christmas presents. It is NOT too early to start shopping.
Johnny Was
Denim Event – Enjoy $50 Off $300+ jeans, denim shirts, and jackets. And, yes, these Ryan Barrel Jeans are included in the sale, as well as this Western Shirt and the classic denim jacket. They still have a summer sale going on, but the inventory has really gotten picked over.
Ann Taylor
Ann Taylor’s got 25% off fresh fall styles right now, and this horsebit cable cardigan with the little gold buttons is exactly the kind of thing I reach for on cooler days when I still want to feel put together.
White House Black Market
White House Black Market has Up to 50% Off Sale Styles. Price as Marked. It has been a while since I’ve shopped at WHBM, but I’m so glad they are back on my radar!
UNTUCKit
If you’re shopping for the man in your life, UNTUCKit‘s sale is worth a look. I’ve linked to a “Women’s Sale” and a “Men’s Sale.” Joe and I both love their items!
Tuckernuck
The sale section is up to 50% off, no code needed, and their Friends & Family Sale is coming up in September if you want to wait for an even bigger event. I absolutely love the color and style of this cashmere boyfriend sweater. It would be so pretty with dark wash jeans, or even chocolate brown this fall.

God bless your brother for building a family members home. The last 20+ years that I worked in corporate America, I left our home for work at 4:15 a.m. because I wanted a stress free commute into Atlanta, and I could get so much done before the bosses arrived. During those years my bedtime was 8 p.m. My husband has always been a night person. Fast forward to now and having been retired since 2012, I am now a night person and sleep in every day. Your mom would be in checking on me to ensure that I am still breathing. I will go to bed at a reasonable hour when I have to get up early so that I can get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep.
I really like the embroidered top from Johnny Was and am contemplating ordering it.
Ginger, my oldest son’s MIL was just like you. She would go into work at 3 in the morning and put in an 8-hour shift. She would be home by lunch, but said she got so much done because no one was in the office to distract her.

I love switching out rugs since it changes everything. As long as there isn’t a piece of heavy furniture sitting on it, it is fair game!

I am an early to bed early to rise person. People know not to call or text me after 9 pm! Your brother could do a “DIY Easy fixes” on the living well for seniors blog! Like how to change the chain inside the toilet , how to properly hang a picture on sheet rock! 🤷🏼♀️Love today’s Bible verse.
