Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing spring colors in a a gorgeous Ruana, and white t-shirt, and coral girlfriend jeansGuess what??? I got up this morning, and sure enough, the sun came up again today. Lol! My point is, the sun is going to keep coming up every day, and even though we might have a different schedule than we had before, we are still so fortunate. I am going to apologize if you are not a full glass kind of person because I am going to spout sunshine all over you this morning. Everything is not rainbows and unicorns, but it is not sawdust, and manure either. So, let’s concentrate on the positives and start the morning off with a proper mindset.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing spring colors in a Ruana, and white t-shirt, and coral girlfriend jeansWho woke up? Yep, that is a huge positive in my book!!! Did you have a warm house, and did the electricity turn on the lights? Woohoo!!! I enjoyed a hot cup of coffee, even if it was black with no creamer or sugar. Yuck! My internet was working, and I enjoyed a peaceful morning listening to a sermon. Did you internet work? It must have if you are reading this. Lol! I am doing Intermittent Fasting, so I don’t eat until 2:00 pm, but Joe enjoyed a big breakfast of scrambled eggs and buttered toast. Is your belly full, or do you have a well-stocked refrigerator?

I guess you have already gotten the idea of what I am saying. We are not walking around with a rain cloud over our heads; we are just going through a stormy period. Get out your umbrella when you have to venture outside the home, but continue to count your blessings. The sun will shine again, and a beautiful rainbow is waiting for us once this storm passes. ? ?
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing spring colors in a gorgeous Ruana and white t-shirtA simple white t-shirt will be your go-to item all spring and summer long. I usually try to order a new t-shirt every year to make sure that they look white and fresh. I have ordered a couple this year, one from Target (here) that is a v-neck, and one from J.Crew Factory (here) that is a crewneck. The one that I have on in this photo is an older one that has a stain (you can’t see it in the pictures), and that is why I order a new one each year. Lol! I ordered a large in both t-shirts because I want to make sure that they are roomy and that I don’t feel self-conscious when wearing them without a jacket/cardigan.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing spring colors in a gorgeous Ruana, a white t-shirt, and coral girlfriend jeansI love this versatile ruana. The colors of this ruana grabbed my attention immediately. I love that it is so colorful, but it is also soothing. The color palette is perfect for spring and summer, and I can see wearing this ruana as a bathing suit coverup this year. I might not get to wear it at the beach, but I can still wear it here at the house. Plus, I think that this will look gorgeous with shorts this summer or a pair of jeans. On the website, they have it styled with a chambray shirt and jeans, and it looks so relaxed and casual.

You don’t’ have to worry about picking the wrong size since it is a one-size-fits-all garment. It is also machine washable, so it is my kind of item. Here is the link to the poncho/ruana.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing spring colors in a gorgeous Ruana, a white tee, and coral girlfriend jeansI wanted to show you these wedge ankle booties, so I cuffed these pants, but I usually would have left them uncuffed. These are the so slimming girlfriend crops from Chico’s, and I love this color of coral. I didn’t order the pants to match the ruana, but they look great together! I am wearing a size 1 (8) in these pants, but they are too big on me. I have found that I need to wear a smaller size when I order the girlfriend or boyfriend jeans. I prefer the fit to be a little snugger, so I sent these back, but they were out of the next size down. These crops do come in a couple of other colors; you can check them out by clicking here.

My wedge sneakers are a pair that I bought back in November. They are by Linea Paolo, and I love how comfortable they are to wear. I throw them on with almost everything, including little swing dresses. That is a super cute look! You can find this style bootie almost everywhere now and in a lot of different prints. I’ve seen camo, leopard print, metallics, etc. in this style boot.

  1. I immediately noticed your jewelry! SInce you didn’t mention a source, I am guessing the beaded pieces are just something you had on hand, not something currently available?

  2. There’s a song that says “I fall asleep , counting my blessings”. It’s better than counting sheep. They always jump out of order and messes me all up. : )
Love what you’re wearing. I’m already hot here on the Coast so I’ll just have to wait for fashion bloggers to catch up to me. I could wear this outfit though in the morning or evening. Hope you all are doing fine. I made an actual real chocolate pie without eggs because we are low on eggs, it turned out great. Good to know you can cook without eggs.

  3. DEANNE HOPE says:

thanks for the encouragement. So true we have so many blessings still!! Love the look just too expensive for me but I could copy it with a less expensive version. I used to love that show where they would find a picture of a very expensive magazine outfit and then go find the entire outfit for under $100.

  4. Thank you so much, Tania! May God especially bless you! Is that a thing? I hope so. ❤️ As always, you look wonderful and what positive and inspiring messages you are sharing! You are putting light out and we are so grateful!!! May you be blessed for all the many ways you are helping multitudes get through this trying time. You are appreciated! Love the outfit and the jewelry. I have a necklace much like that and have been looking forward to summer and wearing it again. You look adorable. Thanks for the hope and the reminder to choose it.

  5. Charlcy Green says:

I love your positive outlook and in these difficult times it is Paramount for health! I have been so encouraged by how many have stepped up to share love, joy, laughter and help to so many! Very pretty outfit and spring colors! Earrings are a big hit w the outfit and I love the booties! I have a leopard print and wear them all the time. We love you, Tania! ?

  6. Melesa Garrison says:

Super cute outfit. I’ve been contemplating getting a pair of these shoes. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting since January and I really like it. I’ve lost some weight and feel more focused. This is going to be my new lifestyle. I did some research with the coffee bc I enjoy a little 2% milk in mine. I read as long as you don’t go over 50 calories it will not stop the fast. I guess it works bc I’ve been doing it and still lost 15 lbs.

  7. Judi Forner says:

Hi, Tania- I love the Linea Paolo wedge bootie. They look like a mushroom color. I can’t seem to find them. Can you tell me where you bought them, the color and style name? I didn’t see a ‘click Here’ button on these shoes. Thank you so much for your blog.

    1. Judi, I couldn’t find the exact color of my shoes either. I have to assume that this color is all sold out.

  8. Either my husband or I turn to the other every day and comment on how fortunate we are for all the reasons you mentioned, Tania. I know many others are having a much rougher time even under the best of circumstances.

I love your outfit! I don’t think I’d feel comfortable in a Ruana but love seeing them on others. I purchased one from Chico’s but returned it because there was more fabric than I can comfortably deal with, lol.

I hope the I/F is going well and that you’ll share your experiences with it at some point.

  9. Just curious about your fasting? Do you do Delay Don’t Deny? I just started this 3 months ago. No results yet but I am trusting the process?

  10. Such a pretty ruana and this outfit is so easy to put together. I have a pair of pants, just that color. Tania, I really appreciate the glass half full attitude you have. There is so much negative stuff going on out there and being negative ourselves is certainly not going to change anything. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good. Thanks for bringing a dose of sunshine into my house today! – Amy

  11. Thanks for the beautiful pop of colour today, it is the perfect inspiration! I changed my closet(s) around yesterday, moving my office clothes towards the back and my comfy active wear all into one easy grab and go spot. The problem, I noticed this morning, is lack if colour. I need to fill my day with colour!! Typically not an on line shopper, I may need to break down…..
    Have a beautiful day!!!!

  12. Thanks for your words of inspiration, Tania. With all of the problems in the world at the moment, it’s good to step back and appreciate the good things in our lives. The outfit looks great on you and I absolutely love those shoes!!!

  13. I have those shoes in tan a similar pair by Steve Madden in camo……love them!

  14. Thank you Tania. This is what we all need to hear. I encourage people to not stay glued to the news on TV. Get outside, Facetime that family, knock off projects that have been on your “to do” list for ages. Find the blessings. Thank you again. We will all get through this!

  15. Love this look! Can’t wait to order the pants!! What an encouraging opening in your blog today and so true! We have to make the best of way things are right now. Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. I too love your great attitude! The outfit is a happy one!
Would you enlightened us about your intermittant way of eating! How are you doing? When did you start?
I am struggling with it and just need a push! Not looking for excuses but when the sun shines and I am busy I can
do it but here in Iowa, we have had some very overcast days and now cold for several days which affects my
attitude! And of course then there is the virus! Yes, do have so much to be thankful for! Next week will be a sunny week, thank the Good Lord! And thank you for your upbeat ideas!

  17. Ann H Pavlicek says:

Thank you for your positive attitude. Also, I think your white tee and coral pants look better than the Chico picture of them with jeans and the chambray shirt.

  18. Love it Tania ? you look beautiful and colour palette is Spring in a nutshell glad you are still your bright bubbly beautiful self you cheered me up had a bad day yesterday but today is a brand new day sun is shining and loads to grateful for rainbows ? after a shower lemonade from lemons etc you get the picture ????

    1. Bless you once again for making us smile!! We all needed to hear this today and we will be watching for the rainbow right along with you Tania!?

    2. I try to think of three things that I am grateful for that happen each day. As I lay my head on the pillow, I start thinking about the good that came from the day.

  19. This was exactly what I needed today. I work in the UK healthcare system (NHS) and my head is spinning due to the fact that several times every day the plan of action for our department changes so I never know which end is up. It’s all such a turmoil.
This post has helped to remind me that it’s not all doom and gloom. I am going to screenshot it, and carry it around work with me to help ‘ground’ me during my shift.
    Thank you so much x

    1. Hayley, I pray for all of you who work in the healthcare system. It is a great thing that you do, and I know that it also carries huge responsibilities. You made my day with your comment, I am so happy that I have helped you in some small way.

  20. Monica Ercanbrack says:

Thank you for this post today I don’t think we should live in fear I don’t believe God wants that for us. The colors in your ruana are beautiful and the coral pants are perfect. I have those shoes in black and leapord print and they are so fun to wear.
They go with so many outfits.

    1. Monica Ercanbrack says:

Thought it didn’t post so it 2 times oops.

    2. I bet the leopard print version is so cute! I am glad that you have a good mindset, MonicA.

  21. That the right attitude! I love that! We are all in this and have to make the best of it! Now if you really want to brighten your day,…..join my Fancy Friday linkup party! Lol!
