VINTAGE CHEETAH COAT
Have you already written 2016 down instead of 2017 yet? This is a little game I play with myself, I like to see how long it will take for me to make the mistake. Usually, it is on the bank deposit slip at work. It is never “if” it will happen, it is “when” will it happen, Lol!Â
Have you already taken down your Christmas decorations? I always wait till at least January 1st but I didn’t feel good on Sunday so mine is still up. I didn’t put up much this year it shouldn’t take me very long to take them down. The only problem I have is that it is wet and cold. I store my Christmas decorations in a little building in the back yard and the ground is soggy and muddy from all the rain. I don’t want to trudge through that and then it is supposed to be freezing the next couple of days. I think Joe refers to this as “Old Excuse O.”
Today is the first Tuesday of the month and that means the Ageless Style Linkup. Today’s theme was picked by me so don’t grumble. I went with “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” My thoughts were that we could all style our favorite cold weather garment. Mine just happens to be vintage. I bought this years ago at a vintage fashion show. I had originally wanted a shorter jacket similar to this in at a prior show but there was some confusion and I didn’t go home with the jacket. I had been ticked about missing out on that jacket ever since. This coat was originally purchased at a show I didn’t get to attend for 170.00. I forgot the reason why, but the girl who bought the coat wanted to sell it at the next show. I ended up buying the coat for 120.00. It is my favorite coat of all time!
My up close picture is blurry but I wanted to show you the belt buckle. It is black bakelite. One of the straps wraps around the piece and snaps on the inside. My fingernails look like they are nude but they are gold glitter. I wanted some bling for the New Year’s Eve party. Maybe you will be able to see them better on a different outfit.
Here is the back of the coat and you can see that the buckle is identical in the back. I had to google this print. I would have called it Leopard print but I did a google search to see the difference in Leopard and Cheetah. According to what I found this looks like Cheetah to me. What do you gurls think?
I have no idea if this is real fur or not. I suspect it is real fur, I just don’t know what kind of fur. Anytime you are dealing with vintage items it is probably the real thing. I wouldn’t buy a new fur coat but I consider this recycling. Lol! I can tell you this, I would be pretty aggravated if someone threw paint on my coat.
Now let’s join the other ladies with the Ageless Style Linkup. What do you think they will be wearing?
Here are you hosts for the Ageless Style Link Up.

Rules are simple,
Great theme selection Tania! I always love when I can show off my Mother-in-Law’s style aesthetic! Outerwear is so much more than just the basic black & grey colors to get you through the cold months. It is all about texture, color & details & you hit all 3 purrrrfectly with this animal print coat! I love the story behind it & have to say there is nothing better than vintage. It is like every piece was made for a real purpose; whereas, nowadays so many things are mass produce without a great story behind it. This was such a fun month! xxx Diane
Oh my goodness I love that coat!
Beautiful cheetah coat. I have one very similar that I purchased years ago and ? it. I always get compliments when I wear it. Definitely not for a shy person because people will stop you on the street. Happy New Year!
You are right! I have had people stop me before. Lol!
Can you share the schedule and locations of some vintage fashion shows? I’d love to attend one. I’m in southwest VA.
We may have one around May or June in Grundy. The date hasn’t been set yet, but I will put it on the blog when we do.
Adorable coat Tania! As soon as I am back in Zurich I will def get out my coat that’s a little similar!
Lovely doing the Ageless Style Linkup with you – thanks so much for this months theme suggestion.

Love your coat! It looks beautiful on you.
I am literally over the moon about this coat! It appears very glamorous.
Tania, I’m back at work today & can finally read all your holiday posts! I missed seeing you so much! But I had just changed my password at work & couldn’t remember it at home so couldn’t log on to see your posts. Can I somehow change the email you send your posts to so that never happens again? My home email is “charlcygreen@yahoo.com”
BEAUTIFUL cheetah coat & you look stunning in it!
Love the coat!!!!
Beautiful coat!!
What a fantastic coat and a great story to go with it. You look fabulous. Also, the theme for the linkup was ingenious and very clever of you.

I love a statement coat, Tania and this one is gorgeous!!
I think it’s the best thing ever to recycle…even if it is a real fur. In fact, I took my mom’s old fur coat and took out the sleeves to make it a vest for her!! It looks so much more modern! But shhhhh….it’s her birthday present later this month!

Wow, you look gorgeous—LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the coat!!!
That coat was made for you! I love all your vintage styles. This seems to scream the age of elegant dressing which I wish we still did more of . Thank you for encouraging us all to care how we look daily!
You can never go wrong with an animal print!! Love it?
I LOVE that coat!!! The belt and buckle just make it! Very flattering also.
Oh my goodness, I just love, love that coat! And the jewelry you put with it to accessorize is perfect. You look terrific! Wishing you a happy, healthy and successful new year!
Thanks, Pat! That jewelry will be on tomorrow’s blog 🙂 Happy New Year to you! I hope to see you in April.
Wow – what a coat, and what a terrific find . . . I love it !
GORGEOUS is all I have to say.
Tania, you look fabulous, what a stylish animal print coat, with Bakelite, amazing, my mum still has Bakelite storage containers, I have never seen it as accessories. I so wish I could purchase Plunder in Australia, but you look so stylish. Go gurl!
Cheers, Tracey.
Tracey, I love my bakelite. I have SEVERAL bracelets that are bakelite and just a few necklaces. Have you gotten you R & F package I sent you?
Hi Tania, not yet. I have been corresponding with R & F in Australia, as they had run out off the paperwork package, so I am expecting that also in the next few weeks. At this stage they are still working out the pricing of products and the incentive scheme.
Many thanks, I shall let you know when your package arrives, and anything else that I find out.
Kind regards Tracey.
I share in your appreciation of your fabulous coat!!! It is gorgeous and so becoming on you. 🙂
It really is a fabulous coat. Even at it’s age there is nothing wrong with this coat.
