50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALWOW! What a start to 2017. Four ladies have decided to join me in my Plunder journey and I also have two ladies from Australia that have joined with me in my Rodan and Fields journey. This is truly exciting!!! New baby, new business partners, new possibilities, and this is just January 4th! 50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALI recently read a book that was talking about goals and aspirations. The author suggested that you write down your goals. They say that it is not good enough to “think” your goals, you need to “write” the goals down. I was listening to another lady talk today and she wanted everyone to do an exercise. You are supposed to write a letter as if this is January 2018. You were to talk about all that you accomplished in 2017. She suggested writing for at least ten minutes anything and everything that came to your mind. I sat down to do this and couldn’t believe how much fun it was. I talked about faith, family, work, friends, the new baby, in fact just about everything. I am going to put this away for safe keeping and I can’t wait to get it out this time next year and read the letter.
50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALThis post may be a little weird. Emersyn came over for me to babysit last night and while she was here she knocked over my glass of coke onto my laptop. I grabbed it as quickly as I could but it it acting crazy. I am crossing my fingers that everything will turn out alright but I have been eyeing a new Macbook Pro. Lol! This is the outfit I had on under the Vintage Cheetah coat I had on yesterday. I have worn this Umgee gray tank top with the pleated hem several times (here, here, and here) this past year. I never put away my tank tops when I put away my other summer clothing. Tank tops can be worn all year around.

50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALThe necklace I have on was a Monday Madness special from Plunder. I am crossing my fingers that this comes out in the Spring catalog because it is really gorgeous in person. It even comes with a 4 or 5 inch expender so that it can hang even longer. (Here) The matching bracelet is available though and it is called the Cambria. Since the necklace is not available, here are a couple necklaces that would really be just as cute. The Paris and the Olivia are both only $26.00. 50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALThese large pearls drop are called the Dorthea and they match the Olivia necklace and the Jane necklace perfectly. Most of the Plunder jewelry is mix and match I have noticed. Someone is pretty smart in the design department. I would have been just flying by the seat of my pants. Do you see that hair or string on my cardigan? Things like that drive me bonkers!!!50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALHere is the detail that makes the cardigan. I have told you several times to look for design details that make your item special and a elbow patch is one of these details. Make the elbow patch out of multi-colored sequins and you hit a design home run. Lol! I bought this cardigan last year at a little boutique but I don’t think I ever wore it. The sleeves were too tight and it just felt uncomfortable. I pulled it out and decided to try my luck today after being able to wear the Karen Kane sequined tank top last week.

50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALWhat I want to draw your attention to is the leggings. They are black velour and look like velvet. I picked these up at Old Navy and I have been dying to wear them. They felt soooo good and they look soooo expensive. What’s not to like?

DSC 0021 1The black boots might not have been my choice if I hadn’t had the Cheetah coat on first. I thought with the coat I need a tall boot but with this outfit I could have worn booties or even a high heeled shoe. My daughter sent me a pair of high heel yellow shoes for Christmas that will look awesome with these leggings, but not with this cardigan. Haha I can’t wait to wear those shoes, they are super cute.

50 IS NOT OLD | DESIGN DETAILS ARE ESSENTIALI am still looking for a couple of Canadian ladies and of US ladies to join with me in my Rodan and Fields adventure. I thought I would share with you an article from Forbes Magazine about Rodan and Fields:

“The year’s biggest percentage gainers are dermatologists Kathy Fields and Katie Rodan, who together created acne treatment Proactiv and launched skin-care company Rodan+Fields. Revenues hit $627 million in 2015, up 90% from the previous year, with more than 150,000 independent consultants [selling] products. That in turn helped boost their fortunes 72% in the past year to $550 million a piece.”
“With the US becoming increasingly dominated by Rodan+Fields, other countries may not be far behind. Rodan+Fields launched in Canada in February 2015, and Australia is scheduled to launch in 2017. What may be lacking, however, is the people that have still yet to recognize that selling via a direct marketing sales avenue- sometimes referred to as a multi-tier marking business- is not what it use to be, and it’s definitely not something to ignore. Community commerce is a growing trend in retail that Rodan+Fields may be leading, but others are certainly trying to follow.”
~ Forbes magazine

You may not be sure about joining me but you can rest assure that joining with Rodan and Fields is an amazing opportunity. If you have any questions about the business please email me or maybe we just need to talk. If there is enough interest, we can set up a ZOOM call where we can see each other and all talk.

Do any of you have any suggestions on how to dry out my laptop? Or in the worst case situation, what would be the laptop of choice? I have to admit that I am pretty partial to Mac products. The laptop and desktop I use are both at least 8 years old. They have never given me any problems, at least not till little Miss Gom came to play. Hahaha

What will your letter looking back on the year 2017 look like? Write it down and put it in a safe place to revisit next year. Part of my 2017 goals is to grow my subscriber list on the blog. 1. Those boots don’t fit you. Too wide around your thighs.

  2. Hi there. I’m located in Canada and would like info about Plunder

    1. Eva, I am sorry but at this moment Plunder does not deliver to Canada. ?

  3. Love, love the cardigan with the fancy elbow patches! What I noticed mostly was your EYELASHES when you looked down at your bracelet!! My, oh my! That is great advertising for your lash booster!! You’re stylish as ever!

    1. Awww, that is sweet Julie. I never even noticed the eyelashes. Some salesman I am. Lol!!!

  4. i was scrolling Pinterest (fashion over forty), and I realized that every one of your outfits I saw is one that I would wear. I liked some of the others, but yours are the best Tania! Happy New Year!

    1. I love Pinterest, Kathe. I could spend hours playing on there. LoL!

  5. Just bought a Mac Pro 13″ – I’m not sure I needed the touch bar but thought I’d try it out. It is soooo much smaller than my old mac so that’s also hard to get use to. I will say it’s light. Also it has USB C ports and no SD card reader which means I had to get an adapter for my photo card and printers etc….
Love the pearls – pearls are my new favorite thing. Happy New Year – you look thinner too!!

    1. I just took some pictures for a later post with one of your necklaces. I don’t think I am any thinner, I am just getting better at posing. Haha

  6. Rice, Tania, it’ll absorb the moisture wonderfully. Until then, though, don’t plug it in. That’ll short the circuitry 🙂

p/s I AM SO IN LOVE with your cardigan xo

  7. Charlcy Green says:

I love this top every time you show it! It always looks pale lavender on my computer & I’d LOVE to find one that color. But however you style it, it always looks great! I just love the pleats at the bottom! And yes, the cardigan w/the glam on elbows is outstanding! You are lucky to have fun places to go where you can dress up. Here in Roswell, there are few opportunities to do so. Good for you about your expanding businesses! Rice is the ONLY way to cure the coke in keyboard/computer, altho the sugar might make it not work anyway. DON’T turn it on until you’ve let it dry in rice over night tho!

    1. Too late about the turning it on part. Lol! So far it appears to be doing fine. I guess I’ll find out later tonight.

  8. So you started the New Year good of! That promisses a great Year!

  9. LOVE this outfit! I spotted a glimpse of the elbow detail on the first photo and you are right, those really make the outfit!

  10. Sally Bauman says:

Love the outfit…will have to check out ON for those leggings! I was speaking with my daughter (a graphic designer) about the new Mac Book Pro…she mentioned that they dont have any USB ports and use bluetooth only…just something to check into if you use USB peripherals..

    1. I know, Sally. I probably won’t get the newest version because I need a USB port and the SD card slot. I love my Macbook though.

  11. I just ordered my first Plunder item- the Mason earrings. I have admired them each time you post them and finally decided to get them. Can’t wait for them to come! I did not order a necklace- I may have to go back thru your posts to find one that goes well with the earrings. I also wanted to say that I like your hair- is it a little longer than you used to wear? I have let mine get a little longer too and am enjoying it. As always- I love your blog!

  12. I am interested in the Rodan Fields products. What is the best way to try them? Do they offer a sample pack? I don’t want to sell but would like to rec products at a discount. I appreciate your input.

    1. Shelia, Rodan and Fields offers a 60 day money back guarantee so EVERYTHING is a huge sample. That is the beauty of their products. If you don’t like, something for any reason, you simply return the unused portion for a full refund. I signed up only for the discounts too, and never meant to sell the products, but now I have a hard time not gushing to everyone about how much I love them. I really have to contain myself with the blog. Lol! Use the solution tool to see what they recommend for you.

  13. I spilled coffee on a laptop and we put the whole thing in a trash bag of rice overnight. Then got it out the next day and it worked perfectly!! Worth a try!!

    1. Thanks, Laura. I had heard about doing that so I will give it a try.

  14. I love the pearls ?

    1. I am a sucker when it comes to pearls!!!
