Gurls, today I’m sharing about the best workout clothes for women over 50, but before I begin, I want to talk about my “why.” Why workout clothes? Why workout? If you think it’s all about appearance, you might be in for a surprise. 🙂
I’ve been thinking about my grandparents a lot lately. My grandmother, Lucille, died in her early fifties from a heart issue. My grandfather died a few years ago at the ripe old age of 103! I have such fond memories of them, and it made me think about my own grandchildren and what their memories of me will be.
Having them visit me is so much fun, and we spend a lot of time together doing fun things. I have a reason for this walk down memory lane, Lol. I started this blog to help women look and feel their best. When I talk about working out or dieting, I’m not trying to be a size 2. I think you’ve been seeing my pictures for years, so you know that’s probably not possible! But I do want to be healthy and mobile for as long as I can so that I can shop and play and run around with the people I love. Whether you buy any of these cute clothes or just throw on a pair of sweatpants from your dirty clothes hamper, I hope you’ll take the time to do something for yourself and your health.
The Best Workout Clothes for Women over 50 – Pants
LOVE. These are moisture-wicking and are made from compression fabric – thank you! They have POCKETS. I might be working out, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need my phone near me. Lol! I love that the print would go with so many different color tops.
Don’t these look comfortable?? I think these would be so nice for walking around the neighborhood. Of course, they have pockets! They’re a nice alternative for those of you who don’t like to wear tight leggings out in public.
You can never have too many pairs of yoga pants! These are high-waisted and have POCKETS, and come in a variety of colors. Traditional yoga pants are usually flared, so these break the mold in that they’re boot-cut. They have great reviews and are just $30 dollars!
For those of you who are serious about your workouts! I think these would be great for running, workout classes, or even as traditional pants. As the weather gets cooler these would be a good option to wear by themselves or under a cute tennis or pickleball skirt.
Another comfortable pair of workout pants that would be great for walking, laying on the floor, and working those abs (ha!). Gurls, these have a rating of 4.3 stars, have been reviewed over NINETEEN THOUSAND times, and are under $25 dollars!
The Best Workout Clothes for Women over 50 – Tops
I love the look of a racerback tank. The one pictured is in sage green, a trending color, but it’s also available in a great hot pink. It has a nice breathable mesh back also to help you keep cool.
I walk on the treadmill out of convenience, but I prefer walking outside. This is a great top for taking me to fall. While I love the racerback, I like to be covered a bit more when I’m out in public, and this pullover is so cute!
I love the neckline on this top. Yes, it’s a v-neck, but I like the crisscross design that elevates it from a basic T. The reviews say to order up one size and that it’s more of a tunic than a t-shirt and covers the booty.
I know that a lot of you hate wearing sleeveless shirts, but I’m going to say that exercise time is an exception. I HATE being hot, so I love working out in something loose and airy. And, of course, if you’re going to be outside in the fall, this would be cute under a light pullover or jacket.
One thing I’ve noticed is that workout clothes tend to get worn out fast. I think it’s because they get washed over and over. Unlike a blouse that you might wear to dinner and then hang back in your closet, workout gear gets soaked in sweat and salt. This is a cute top, available in many colors, but the thing I like most is the price! At just $18 dollars, you can afford to wear this for one season and toss if necessary.
