Fall Date Night Outfits For Women Over 50 To Impress Your Partner
It has been a while since my husband and I have been on a date night. We used to go out and eat every Friday or Saturday night, but we’ve just been staying home since summer. I decided to change that last Saturday night, and I called and made reservations at a nice restaurant in town. Then came the dilemma of “What do I wear?” Lol! So, I thought I would show you the outfits I narrowed it down to because they are all fall date night outfits for women over 50, sure to impress your partner.
Fall Date Night Outfits For Women Over 50 – Tiered Dress
I love dressing up, fixing my hair, and putting on makeup and jewelry for a date night. Sometimes, I will wear jeans and a blazer, but I LOVE getting all fancy occasionally. It makes me feel special, and I’m sure my husband feels like I put extra effort into looking nice just for him. 🥰️
I purchased this gorgeous satin-tiered dress in July, and this is the first time I’ve put it on. The brown (I call it Bronze) color is perfect for fall, and it would look great to wear to a fall wedding. The bow sandals are champagne-colored, but I think they look great with the dress.
Fall Date Night Outfits For Women Over 50 – Slip Skirt
I have looked and looked at slip dresses and skirts. But, because I carry most of my weight in my stomach area, I held off ordering them. I finally ordered a couple, and I love both of them. The navy with white dots is a medium, and I feared it would be too small. It ended up fitting me the best and looked great with a simple navy cami and a creme-colored cardigan.
I ended up wearing Taupe kitten-heel shoes and carrying a quilted handbag in the same color. I’ve had this handbag since summer, and I love the feel of the leather and adjustable chain. You can wear it as a shoulder bag or as a satchel.
Fall Date Night Outfits For Women Over 50 – Pattern Mixing
The last outfit is the most unusual since I decided to do some pattern mixing. I rarely mix patterns since I’m not great at putting them together. However, the way I understand it is if the same colors are in both patterns, then you can mix them. Ummm, what do you think?
I love the tweed cardigan, and I can’t wait to wear that with a pair of dark-wash jeans for a casual date night. I might have to make a reservation later this week to wear that outfit! The ivory & brandy slip skirt was too big for me, and this color has sold out. However, a black and white dot version is available, and a floral one that I love and already have in my cart. Lol!
So, which of the Fall Date Night Outfits do you think I wore?

Absolutely love your style
I Iove the tweed sweater! so cute on you.
I love that satin-tiered dress… I’m too short for that look but it’s beautiful.
thanks for sharing. 😊
I am not a satin/silky girl normally, but your posts have definitely peaked my interest. Thanks for always inspiring me and occasionally helping me out of my comfort zone!
I like the tan and navy outfits. May have to have both. Always love the jewelry
The navy slip skirt.
Your granddaughter is beautiful!! My daughter did a few pageants when she was in high school. I remember lots of hairspray, drama and fun.
The bronze dress is my favorite. Tell us which one you wore on date night.
Mary Carol, it was a trick question. I was going to wear the bronze dress, but right before we left, I changed my mind to wear one that was similar, but with short sleeves. I knew I wouldn’t get to wear it much longer since fall is coming, so I wore it instead.
Your granddaughter looked precious ❤
Great outfits on this post, I can see me wearing the navy! I’m pretty good at pattern matching in our home, but I can’t (maybe don’t want) to pull it off on my body! I’m still having nightmares about my husband appearing in a pink and purple tie dyed tee, and pink and plaid golf shorts!!
Sue, now you’ve planted that vision in my mind. Lol!!!
That dress looks great on you! I would not have picked it by the model in the ad but you made it look great!
Awww, thanks, Lorraine! I wasn’t sure I would like the smocked waist, but I ended up loving it.
Love the date night outfits. The bronze dress is my favorite. I really need to get away from wearing jeans and pants all the time.
Our daughter was in pageants in high school. Lots of hairspray, drama and fun memories.
I just got a slip skirt from Loft – love it!
I think you wore the Maxi dress—the color is so pretty on you and the heels make it a great date night outfit! of course, the navy slip skirt is also a winner! No matter what you wore, I’m sure you looked great in it. Thanks for showing such beautiful clothes!
You’re sweet, Suzanne!!!
Love Love your pictures of the skirts.
I make sure every morning to read your emails.
Great Deals too.
Your granddaughter looks beautiful. My sister-in-law was in pageants when she was younger and loved it. I love the blue slip skirt. I wouldn’t have thought to wear it with the taupe shoes, but it looks great. I have a hard time with mixing colors, I’m not good at it.
Sandy, she loves it. She got 2nd place, and her best friend won. She was just as thrilled for her best friend, and was hugging her after it was over.
I haven’t tried a slip dress because I also tend to carry weight in the stomach area, but I will have to check one out.
I think the addition of the cardigan helped a lot.
I really enjoy your positive energy and well coordinated and displayed outfits. Everything about your newsletter is so well organized. I look forward to them
Wow!!! I love starting my day with such a great comment.
Hi Tania, I think you wore the first dress. The blue slip outfit was nice too! I wasn’t into the mixing of patterns . I would have liked it better with a brown sweater.
Pattern mixing isn’t for everyone.
I think you wore the navy outfit. I liked all of the outfits you put together. Thanks
My favorite is the pattern mixing outfit! I’ve been trying a little pattern mixing myself lately! Some more tips on this trend would be great…..
Your granddaughter is beautiful! Good luck to her in pageants.
I love the navy outfit. It looks awesome on you plus I think it would good on me too.
They all look so good on you but I love the polka dots!
Love the outfit with the tweed sweater.
I really like the navy dot slip skirt outfit! (Why do they call it a slip skirt?) Not so sure about the pattern mixing though!
love them all but favorite is the navy blue top and spotted skirt with white sweater
I think you wore the blue slip skirt and top with the ivory cardigan. I believe you once told us that Joe likes you in blue!
Love the blue slip skirt outfit. The blue is a flattering color on you.
The pattern mixing works in the other outfit. I just would not feel comfortable mixing them.
I think you wore the dotted skirt outfit. I look forward to seeing you style the pretty dress as Fall progresses. Your little granddaughter is beautiful!
Awww, thanks Ginger!
Love pattern mixing.
I would never of thought to put those patterns together but I love the way they look! Very classy!
I think you wore the blue outfit. so cute.
I think you wore the navy outfit. Looks great on you!
Jan, it ended up being a trick question since I didn’t wear any of them. Lol!!! Right before I went out the door, I changed into a short sleeve dress from Chico’s because I knew I wouldn’t get to wear it before long.
Love the navy skirt set. Your granddaughter looks adorable. She has the right attitude also.
She looked like an angel! I was so happy that I got to see her on stage.
Maxi dress looking wonderful on you, if only I were taller.
I hope you wore the first one! Love the dress, the color, the flow, everything! Perfect outfit for a date night. I wish my hubby were still here for a date night. Enjoy every minute you have with Joe. I never dreamed my sweet man would be gone this soon. Will be two years September 25. We had been married 52 years.
Gayle, I’m so sorry. That would be my worst nightmare. Even though he drives me crazy half the time, I can’t imagine life without him.
You look gorgeous in each different style. Now you have three outfits to mix and match for fall date nights.
You look stunning in all of the date night outfits. Joe is a blessed man.
Tania, i love the navy dot slip skirt and tank with the cardigan the best. But, I also like the outfit with the tan print skirt and jacket. Before I saw you in that outfit I would have never mixed prints, myself. However, it looks great on you, so may have to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration. Here’s to more great date nights with Joe.
I’m glad that you enjoyed this post, Jan! Thank you for commenting! 🙂
I love the pattern mixing. Looks great to me!
Love everything. I went to get one of the skirts and of course they don’t have my size! Have a bless day! Oh did you go to Gundry County, TN?
Diane, I order all my clothing online since there is a better chance of having it ins tock. No, it was Grundy, VA,
Surprised to see the navy and white dot skirt is Old Navy. It looks beautiful.
I’m always afraid to mix patterns, but your outfit looks great!!
I love all of them but I would say the blue skirt and sweater
I love when pattern mixing works! Great look above!
The maxi dress is amazing looking and I’m sure comfortable!
You look great in all of the date night outfits!! But I would guess the tweed sweater and slip skirt.
Tania, I’m not sure which outfit you wore but I like the slip dress on you a lot! Of course, you always look great and the other 2 outfits look nice too!
I love the outfit with the mixed patterns. I occasionally try mixing and find that as long as the colors blend and one of the patterns is larger or smaller than the other it looks pretty good. And it’s lots of fun.
Love that little cutie pie that has photo bombed your pictures. LOL!!
I liked myself in a dress when my waist was a bit smaller, but now I feel like they make me look heavier than I am. I’m still good with skirts, though. I used to dress up every day when I taught school, including wearing hosiery when we didn’t have air conditioning! I don’t miss that part!
Nancy, we sure said good-bye to hosiery fast, and I don’t miss that either.
The Dress! All looked gorgeous but that dress on you looked amazing!
Wonderful post today. Inspired me to ask my husband on a date 🙂
Great outfits!
I’m loving the look of a slip skirt but haven’t tried one yet. So feminine. Thanks for posting these options.
I just can’t do the pattern mixing although those pieces are awfully cute!
Did you wear the polka dot skirt outfit?
Nope! I ended up wearing something completely different.
I love the mixed pattern outfit and I was really sad to see that it was sold out in my size. The look was very expensive looking. I was ready to purchase.
Susan, I’m sad it is sold out too since the one I have is too big on me and is going to have to go back.
I hope you wore the Beautiful dress! You look great in them all I just think the dress and shoes were you!😍
I think the two patterns work very well together. You look really nice!
I guess you wore the Navy Polka Dot Skirt outfit! I love the Champagne Dress and Shoes outfit which would be perfect for a wedding like you said. Your Granddaughter in Grundy is beautiful!!
I love the navy one! I hope you wore it cause you look great in it!
I love to dress up so I would wear all 3. Except I would have to leave the cardigans out way to hot here in Florida
My money is on the blue slip skirt and cami. Beautiful. Fun and fancy and not over the top.
I think you NAILED the pattern mixing – so chic and fun simultaneously.
I was fortunate to win last week’s Amazon gift card so I will be looking for some pattern play -Thank you!
That beautiful bronze dress is the winner in my book. You look amazing!
Love the slip skirt! You always look spectacular.
The tiered maxi dress is one if the cutest dresses you’ve styled recently. It would be great to wear to a fall wedding.
Beautiful Girl!! Nothing like those grands – I have one that just started cheering this past weekend. My husband and I went out this past Friday night for the first time in a while too. I love all of your ideas, especially the last long skirt!
I’m glad that you enjoyed this post! Thank you for commenting!
You look so pretty in all of them. I hate to wear dresses. I think I like the first one the best.
Heading to JCrew factory to get the tweed jacket today! I love the pairing of patterns too! I’ll have to try that! The champagne dress is beautiful too!
I love the navy !
Like the idea of what you are showing but none of the outfits would work for me. I agree with you, the dress would be ok for a fall wedding. The other two just look like I would be trying too hard.
These are all so pretty! I think the patterns do go together. I would not have thought of that. 😊 My personal favorite is the blue, probably because it would look best on me. lol But you look great in all of these outfits.
I think you were most comfortable in the bronze dress.
I love the blue outfit. it looks beautiful on you.
Love your style!
Love love love the third outfit!! Bummed that skirt is sold out!!
That mix of prints works and looks great on you!
I love to see longer styles for fall.
Love the look of the mixed patterns, but I don’t think I would be comfortable wearing them.
The navy dotted slip skirt!!
love the ivory warm brandy skirt and the different patterns make it interesting.
i’ve always been leery of slip skiets but i love these so much on you that im going to try one!!
Love both of today’s posts!
Thanks
You did a great job with your pattern mixing. I think it works but not a big fan. Always worried will look clownish. On you very fashion forward. I like the navy combo best. I find women with a little more weight show too many bulges in satin anything. Enjoy your week ahead. Your granddaughter is very pretty in picture. I am glad that she realizes just for fun.
I’m glad that you enjoyed this post! Thank you for commenting, Connie! 🙂
Thank you for all you do and share!! I look forward to opening your posts every morning! I have never been great with putting outfits together so you have helped me a lot with this.
All the date night outfits look fantastic on you and I think you probably wore the navy one for date night😊. It would have been my pick😉
I’m glad that you enjoyed this post, Pamela! Thank you for commenting! 🙂
How wonderful that you make the effort to dress up for your dinner dates. It makes the dining experience so much nicer for others in the restaurant when you dress up as it adds to the ambiance. You look so elegant!
Thank you for commenting! 🙂
Love that polka dot slip skirt! The whole outfit looks so great on you!
Love all three of these fall date outfits!! All are super cute on you!
Beautiful fall outfits. You’ve given me the courage to try a slip skirt! Hope you had a fun date!
I like your hairstyle
My guess is you wore the navy slip skirt outfit!
Love the pattern mixing outfit the most. Your granddaughter is beautiful and that gown is stunning.
Love all the long skirts!
Love the pattern mixed outfit. So fresh and different. The slip skirt is amazing too.
The polka dot slip skirt looks great! Hard to believe it’s from old navy. I’m ordering one now.
The cropped cardigan sweater is calling my name. So many colors that it can match every outfit. Thanks for sharing.
Love all the outfits for date night!! You always look so put-together!! And great job mixing the patterns!! Looks beautiful!!
I love the blue polka dot skirt outfit! So pretty. Thanks for all of your amazing deals and posts.
I think you wore the blue poka dot skirt! Love that outfit! I like skirts and blazers together and wear a lot of them Have a Blessed day!
it maybe my computer monitor colors, but I think the purse for the 3rd outfit is a little too pink/peachy for that outfit. It’s shame you cannot get the skirt in your size because I think that mix of patterns was good–not just the colors, but it seems that the size of the patterns are compatible.
It isn’t pink/peachy, it is more of a caramel color. But, it isn’t the sandy/beige color that is in the skirt.
Lots of great ideas on Fall Date Night. We all need date nights and we definitely need to look our best. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love the tan/brown satin dress, it will be perfect for fall wedding guest. Have a blessed week.
I love the way you mix patterns…I just can’t! Lol. Be blessed.
Your granddaughter looks gorgeous! Love how they compete and are all friends which the word was more like that. PS love my skinny jeans.
I think you wore the tiered maxi dress. It looks amazing!
I love the mixing of patterns. I would definitely wear the outfit!
Great. I’m not good at it, so I usually feel a little self-conscious when I try.
Love the silk dress, hope you enjoyed yr night.
Tania this was a great post….you did a great job with the slip skirt showing how we can look modern in styles as age and pull it off superbly. You also did a great job mixing patterns as well, which I love as well when I see but not accustomed to doing.
Great ideas!
Beautiful bronze dress to wear for a date night. Glad you had a nice weekend. Lots of great options here!
The tweed taupe outfit looks sophisticated. I like it best!
That was my favorite you looked gorgeous.
It’s always fun to get dressed up and eat at a nice restaurant! Glad you had a nice weekend. You have lots of lovely outfits to chose from. Very nice!
