It’s amazing what bubbles to the top of my brain sometimes. Lol. When I sat down to write this post about cobalt blue, I suddenly remembered a toy from my childhood. Do any of you remember “clackers”?
Basically, you put your finger through the loop and then moved your hand up and down, making the hard, plastic balls slam into each other. The only problem was that every now and then, one would get off the string and go flying across the room. Watch out! I’m pretty sure I cracked a sliding glass door once with these things.
It can be hit or miss with toys AND trending colors. Celery Green of 2021 was not my fave! Not to worry this year, however. I think you’ll agree that we have some pretty good options. I recently did a post on The Best Of The Trending Colors For Fall 2023, and today I’m showing you how to incorporate the trending color cobalt blue into your wardrobe. Keep scrolling to see me in some of my favorite pieces, old and new. 🙂

With jeans, black pants, yellow pants, a winter white skirt, tied around my neck while wearing a crisp white shirt…I mean, I could go on! Gurls, it’s just $31 dollars. Swoon.

A shirt in cobalt blue is a quick and beautiful way to add color to your wardrobe. Isn’t this gorgeous?! It looks elegant and expensive. It might be the first, but it’s certainly not the second! This silky shirt is only $33 dollars!
Gosh, I love everything about this look. The crewneck tee is so simple, but look how good it looks with a nice pair of jeans and some quality shoes. This is from Talbots, and they usually sell out quickly, so grab it while you can. It also comes in another trending color – vibrant magenta if you’d prefer.
How To Incorporate The Trending Color Cobalt Blue Into Your Wardrobe: Dresses
I love a great fit and flare dress! The cobalt blue paisley design is very unique, and of course, I’m a detail gurl, so I love the smocking at the waist. This dress already sold out once, but they’ve restocked so if you love it, act fast!
How pretty is this? I have this dress, and it is even prettier in person! It manages to look chic and casual at the same time. This is great for those of you who have a long summer. It’s made from a lightweight cotton stretch and is an A-Line silhouette.
How To Incorporate The Trending Color Cobalt Blue Into Your Wardrobe – Earrings
If you like cobalt blue but you’re not ready to dress in it from head to toe, accessories are a great option. These soft leather earrings would add a great pop of color to your outfit. They are fairly large without being heavy, and of course, the price is right. They are only $8 dollars!
These are not going to be mistaken for crown jewels, but they are eye-catching and a fun way to incorporate cobalt blue into an outfit. The gold and large rose petals aren’t as casual as the leather earrings above, but the price is a comparable $10 dollars.

Talk about a beautiful pop of color! This Karl Lagerfeld bag is gorgeous. This is a classic “everyday” bag with a long chain that hits near the hip. The good news? As I write this, it’s 40% off!
This laptop bag is stylish AND functional. The description says it can accommodate a 15.6-inch laptop, and your iPad, books, A4 files, mobile power, mobile phones, folders, passports, cosmetics, etc. That’s a really big bag!
How To Incorporate The Trending Color Cobalt Blue Into Your Wardrobe – Coat
I know you’re probably not thinking about a winter coat right now, but when I saw this I had to include it. It’s just such a great color! I don’t know where you live, but every winter I see so many black coats. If that’s you, consider shaking it up this year and add at least one statement coat.
How To Incorporate The Trending Color Cobalt Blue Into Your Wardrobe – Shoes
Your feet are a great place to wear the trending cobalt blue color. I love adding a pop of color to my outfits, and shoes are a fantastic way to showcase a POP! You know I love wearing high heels, so I had to show you these gorgeous pumps. I had a pair almost identical to them, and I wore them so much that I finally busted out a seam on them. These run TTS and will look great with dresses or jeans.
Ballet flats are easy to wear and look good with everything – from dress pants and skirts to your favorite jeans. I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on a shoe just to incorporate the color into my wardrobe, but at just $20 dollars, this would be perfect to wear for one season.
These I love! I love the elegance of this shoe and could see how it would elevate the look of just about anything. A pair of black pants, a mid-length skirt, a pretty dress – even a pair of nice jeans, would suddenly go from ordinary to chic. All for about $45 dollars.
How To Incorporate The Trending Color Cobalt Blue Into Your Wardrobe – Pants
This was my very first outfit when I started blogging, and it included cobalt blue. A lot has changed since then, but I still love wearing bright colors, and blue and yellow are still one of my favorite color combinations.
Since this was waaaay back in 2015, none of these items are still available. But, I actually think I like the Talbots pants below better anyway. Those are already in my cart, so you’ll be seeing them later in the blog…maybe with a different pair of yellow espadrilles. Lol! Old habits are hard to break.
A classic demi boot pant from Talbots, rendered in cobalt blue, is polished perfection. I own several pair of demi pants (pants with a subtle flare beginning just below the knee), and I think they are very flattering. These are available in petite as well as Misses sizes.
It took a while, but high-waisted pants have become a staple in my wardrobe. I love the tie belt! These are made from a stretchy material making them incredibly comfortable to wear. And of course, if you don’t like the blue, they come in other colors and are under $30 dollars.
