Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a red blazer and a leopard print top to a Galentine partyLadies, today I am showing you my Galentine party outfit. If you have never heard of a Galentine, don’t feel bad since it is a recent holiday that can about because of a television show. Parks and Recreation aired a show back in 2011 about “the one that got away,” and Leslie threw a Galentine event the day before Valentine’s Day for her female friends. The show was a hit, and in 2017, the stores and social media started promoting the holiday. Now, on February 13, Galentine’s Day, a nonofficial holiday, is celebrated as a day for “ladies celebrating ladies.”
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a red blazer, a leopard print top, and skinny jeans to a Galentine partyIn the spirit of Galentine’s Day and promoting ladies, a few of my blogging girlfriends and I are having our “virtual” Galentine party, and you are all invited! These amazing ladies have been so friendly and helpful to me over the years, and I owe them a huge THANK YOU! I met them “in person” for the first time back in November, but since then, we message and talk fairly often. I can’t wait to see what Jennifer, Deborah, and Jo-Lynne are each wearing to our “event,” and I know that you will want to check them out also.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a red blazer, a leopard print top, and carrying a leopard print clutch to a Galentine partyHere I am once again pairing red and leopard print together. I love this look so much more than I did the last look that I styled. I think the difference is the pattern of the leopard print, and also the lace from the first camisole looked “off.” This goes to show you that I am just like you, I don’t always hit it out of the ballpark. Sometimes, I throw a gutter ball. ?

Today’s look is one of my favorites that I have styled in a while. If you aren’t going to pat me on the back, I guess I’ll do it for you. Lol! I love this crepe blouse and the pleating around the neckline. You can’t see in the photos, but the top has short flutter sleeves, which would be great for summer. I am wearing a medium in this top, but it feels a tiny bit snug. It doesn’t look tight, but it “feels” tighter than I like. This top just went on sale, and that means that the sizes will be very limited. I’ll try to find some other options for you also.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a red blazer and a leopard print top with gold jewelry to a Galentine partyThis blouse is so cute that you don’t need any jewelry, but that doesn’t keep me from adding some. I decided to go with gold jewelry today, and the gorgeous filigree hoop earrings from Kendra Scott are stunning. They are the large Maggie hoops, but these also come in a medium and a small size as well. The large hoops have a diameter of 2.5,” and they can dress up any outfit. Although the earrings are large, they are lightweight and won’t make your ears ache. I also added the matching Maggie Bangle that has a 2.5″ inner diameter. All of these pieces also come in silver and rose gold in case gold is not your chosen color.

My necklace is an old one that I bought from Chloe and Isabel. Unfortunately, they closed their doors in July last year, so it is no longer available. However, I found a couple of them on eBay in case you want this one for your very own.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing skinny jeans and pointy toe ankle boots to a Galentine partyI wanted to keep my shoes neutral, so I added these suede pointy-toed booties by Sam Edelman. I absolutely love the modern style of these booties. The attention to detail is amazing; just look at the small buckle on the side, and the high-low style at the top of the boot. These run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit perfectly. Here is the link to the ankle booties.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a bright red blazer, a leopard print top, and a leopard clutch to a Galentine partyThe handbag that I am carrying in this photo is called the Selena clutch. This clutch is genuine calf hair, and it looks and feels so luxurious. There is a gold chain inside that can be used to wear this as a crossbody, or removed entirely. The inside is bright red, and it is large enough for a few essentials that you need when you are going out on the town. You will love this leopard clutch; it makes quite a statement!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a red blazer and a leopard print top with skinny jeans and ankle boots to a Galentine partyI love wearing bright red. I can’t believe that I would never wear red when I was younger because I was afraid that it would draw attention to me. Yes, red will draw attention, just ask a matador, but that is not a bad thing. Some of you might struggle with red as I did, or you might not like the way it looks next to your skin, but don’t give up yet. Try different shades of red to see if you can find one that works with your skin tone, or try wearing red as an accessory. There are a lot of ways that you can punch up your outfit with red.

When I was looking for links to some of my clothing, I ran across a fabulous sale at Talbots. I placed a large order for myself, and I thought that you might like to know about the sale. Here are a few of my favorite finds from the sale.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a leopard print top and a red blazer to a Galentine partyMake sure that you go and checkout Jo-Lynne, Jennifer, and Deborah to see what they are wearing. 21. I love the red and leopard. I’ve been trying (unsuccessfully) to talk myself into a leopard shirt or sweater. The farthest I’ve come is a scarf, belt, clutch, and shoes. But I think a white shirt, jeans, red jacket, booties and leopard scarf would also be the bomb! Maybe I’ll do that for Valentine’s day….BTW, why don’t we get off work for that one too! Who is so stingy with the holidays in this country?
