February is in the books, and March is an open chapter. I thought that there was no better way to start March than with a GOOD LUCK post. According to Ancestry, I am 14% Irish, so, “Top of the Mornin’ to Ya!” Since a 100% Irish person probably never says that, I can get away with it since I am only 14%. Lol!

Because St. Patrick’s Day is in a few weeks, I wanted to come to you today and give you a heads up. No one wants to be pinched for not wearing green on St. Patty’s Day, and now you can’t say that you’ve not been warned. How many of you spent hours looking for four-leaf clovers when you were younger? I can remember doing this for days on end, and I now know why I didn’t find very many.

The four-leaf clover:

  • only 1 in 10,000 clovers will be a four-leaf variety
  • no particular variety of clover plant produces the four-leaf version
  • if you find a four-leaf clover, keep looking for more, the odds are in your favor at that spot
  • Ireland is the home to more four-leaf clovers, and that might be why you hear the phrase, “luck of the Irish.”
  • Each leaf of the four-leaf clover stands for something, faith, hope, love, and luck.
  • A Shamrock and four-leaf clover are not the same. Shamrock refers to clover that only has three leaves.

I mentioned a while back that I had ordered this four-leaf clover tee, and I hope you listened to me and got yours on order. Any time there is a holiday approaching, graphic tees sell out very quickly. I love the metallic design of this four-leaf clover and how it is comprised of hearts. I thought that was a nice touch and different from other tees that I’ve seen before. The t-shirt is a relaxed fit, but I still ordered a large. I prefer my tees to be loose, and I would rather them be a little big as to be too tight.

When you don’t see back rolls, then I feel like the fit is just right! Since the t-shirt is limited in size, I will link to some items that will be pinch-proof for you on St. Patty’s Day. Don’t blame me if you don’t order and end up with a bruise. Lol!

I’ve been mixing my gold and silver jewelry a lot lately, so I thought that I might as well continue that streak today. The Natalie Gold Statement hoops are gorgeous and lightweight. The cutout design helps them not to be heavy, and I find them easy to wear. My horizontal cross and Shine necklace are two that I don’t take off. I wear them day and night, and I only take them off to style a different necklace.

Straight-leg jeans are in and popular this spring. The great news about that is, straight-leg pants are universally flattering to all body types. They help to balance out your body’s proportions, and they still give you a slimming look. If skinny jeans were hard for you to wear, then try the straight-leg jean instead.

I am wearing a pair by NYDJ (Not Your Daughter’s Jeans), and I love the fit. NYDJ jeans seem to fit in the most flattering way. They hold you in and lift you up in all of the right places. I am wearing the Marilyn style in the Marcel finish, and I am wearing a size 8 instead of my usual size 10. I found several NYDJ jeans on sale, so I’ll link to those also. The ones on sale are limited in size.

Oh, my word! These slip-on walking shoes are amazing! I have been wearing these slip-on walking shoes c/o Tiosebon Shoes constantly since they arrived. They are so lightweight that it feels like you don’t have anything on at all. I weighed them on my postage scale, and one shoe barely weighs over 6 ounces. I threw one at Joe, and he was shocked when he caught it since he thought it would weigh a lot more.

The comfort level is why I am wearing them so much. They hug your foot, and the elastic sock top makes putting these shoes on a breeze. The shoes are extremely flexible, and surprisingly they have nice arch support and a memory insole. All of the open mesh allows the shoes to let your foot breathe, and it also helps with the drying process.

One of the things that I love is that these are made with recycled plastic, and every pair uses 7 plastic bottles that we don’t have to worry about hitting our oceans or landfills. I have purchased other brands that are much more expensive because of this knitted design that uses recycled plastic bottles.

I honestly didn’t expect to like these shoes so much because of the price point. The weight threw me off also, and I was cringing as I tried them on for the first time. The thought, “you get what you pay for,” kept running through my mind. But, these shoes are worth way more than they cost, and I bet that after you wear them for several days, you will think the same thing. I am wearing these in my usual size 9, and they are a little roomy, but I wouldn’t size down any. BTW, I also got this pair in pink.

Since Spring is officially here on March 20th, I am now declaring it “early spring” and plan on dressing accordingly. I may still have a long sleeve cardigan or jacket on stand-by, but my spring wardrobe is ready and willing for action. I Facetimed with my daughter in Alaska on Saturday, and I doubt she will be wearing any spring clothing for a while. She has a lot of snow on the ground, and it was calling for 6-9 inches more that day. Yikes, I think that I’ll stay here in Virginia. I have already seen a few buds on some trees, and the spring rains have set in for the rest of the week. Flowers will be popping up before you know it.

I am celebrating this month because it is Joe’s Birthday month. He told me that I couldn’t make a big deal out of his birthday, and I don’t think that announcing for the entire world to see is making a big deal. Lol! So, randomly, each week, I am going to pick a winner for a gift. The gifts will vary in size and price, and I will pick the winner from the comments that I receive during the week.

I too am a little irish. I like the shameock shirt, but may have to check out the shoes. Always looking for a comfortable all day shoe. Hope Joe has a great Birthday month!!

  8. The shirt is adorable! Unfortunately I’m Scots Irish and Protestant to the core going back to 1740 in Augusta Virginia! We wear orange. Plus that I look bad in green so I don’t have any!

About those adorable shoes. I have a very similar pair and dripped pizza sauce on one. Yikes! I was able to get it out with some Invisalign retainer cleaner. I just daubed it on with a clean white washcloth, blotted and repeated.

    1. That is fabulous to hear.

  13. I have those sneakers and absolutely love them! Walked around Disney over 14,000 steps and they were great. Easy to wash and so comfy!

    1. Goodness, I never get in that many steps. Lol!

  14. Haha Tania – I had to laugh at the scripture today – not to be political, but it’s a wee bit timely. Love the shirt, jeans, noticed he belt so trendy, and the shoes really intrigue me. I might have to give them a try.

    1. Gracious, Penny Jo, you know that I am never political. Lol!

  15. Love! Wearin of the green! 😉

  16. How do the shoes fit? I noticed no half sizes.

    1. I think they fit true to size, and maybe a tiny bit on the large size. It I was between sizes, I would probably size down.

  17. linda Charlene suchak says:

Love the shoes! Did they take a long time to come when you ordered?

    1. No. I had them within a week.

  18. I am ready for Spring. The shoes look comfortable, and I love the shirt.

  19. Oh, they sometimes have the NYDJ Marilyns at Costco!

  20. I’ve been wondering about those tennis shoes. Do your feet get cold? Like when you wear running shoes? I’m not in such a rush for Spring, probably because we have so much Summer and get so sick of it. Enjoy your buds!

    1. No, they don’t get any colder than normal. My feet are always cold, but they stay warm in the shoes.

  21. Hello.., Unfortunately the NYDJ are not 45 but when I clicked on the link they are over 65.00

    1. The widget probably still shows when they were recently on sale. Sorry.

  22. LISA CASTRO says:

I could pinch myself for not buying that cute shirt!!

    1. Lol! That is a good play on words, Lisa. Pinch myself.

  23. I love your outfit. I totally missed the previous post of you recommending buying that adorable shamrock shirt made of hearts. I love hearts! A lot of my jewelry has hearts on them. I so appreciated you posting other options in both jeans and shirt. I am so with you on feeling spring feel. I just did some spring cleaning this past weekend! And I am ready for warmer weather. When I got out of church yesterday my car was sooooo warm and toasty! I haven’t had that in ages! Our air is still crisp as our highs are 50. So I was thinking of staying in the car for a while and pretending I was some where warm!

  24. I too love NYDJ! You’re looking really svelte these days. Everything you wear looks great on you. I’m thinking of ordering the shoes. Just wondering…..how much cushioning is there with the insole?

    1. Deanna, I was surprised at how much cushioning there was, especially since it is such a lightweight shoe.

  25. Those shoes look comfy. I might have to try those out. For some reason I thought it was still February today and I dressed in hearts. Guess I will have to turn over my calendar. 😊❤️

  26. Susan Robertson says:

  29. The t-shirt is cute though probably not for me, 2nd generation Polish American here. I do love my NYDJ jeans though and they are some of the few that come with a long enough inseam for my height

  30. The tee shirt is so cute…wish I had gotten it when you first mentioned… I’m laughing because I first thought you said, “top of the morning to” Y’ALL! Hahaha! Thought you were giving it a Southern spin! Love the shoes too…but sold out in my size! They look so comfortable. Happy March!

  46. Barbara W. says:

Very informative post for March! Love your outfit, especially those shoes. Might have to try a pair of those shoes.

  47. This shirt is so cute and I am looking for the perfect straight leg jean. I have one pair of the NYDJ in the Marilyn that I found with a 30” inseam. 30” is the length I need for flat soled shoes or sandals. Now I need to find another in a different rinse…something lighter for Spring.
