HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Who remembers the Julie Andrews song, My Favorite Things? I was looking at the lyrics earlier today, and I couldn’t read the words; instead, I had to sing the words. Lol! It is impossible to read the lyrics without hearing Julie’s voice, singing them in my head. While I do love raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, it is this lyric that I love the most:

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.

It is the greatest advice for everyone to remember. We all have bad days or bad months, but we can choose what we remember. We don’t have to continue to feel bad, and thinking about a few of your favorite things can help bring a smile to your face. So, today, I am bringing you a few of my favorite things that I love.

1. My Dyson Hairdryer

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer w/case

I have to admit that I was skeptical about this hairdryer. And, I had been threatened with bodily harm if I purchased a 400.00 hairdryer. I wanted the hairdryer so bad, though, because I had talked to a few of my blogger friends, and they all told me that I would LOVE it. So, when the Dyson Hairdryer was an incentive gift that I could earn through R+F, you can bet that I set my sights on getting it. I have thick and coarse hair, and this dryer makes short work of getting my hair dry. But, that is not what I love about it. It somehow makes my hair more sleek and shiny, and when I use a round hairbrush to dry my hair, I don’t even have to use the curling iron if I don’t want. I found this one on QVC, and I love the bright blue color, but it is the case that I really love, This dryer is lightweight, but it comes with a long and heavy cord. So, this case would be great to store it in. Also, with QVC, you get 3 easy payments, so it makes the price a little easier to manage.

2. Ninja Foodi 8qt. 9-n-1

Ninja Foodi 8qt. 9-n-1

I am beginning to think that I might be a skeptic at heart. Joe had wanted this Ninja Foodi for months and months, but I kept putting him off for one reason or another. I honestly didn’t think that we would use it, and I didn’t want another appliance on my counter, especially one as big as this thing. But, this is what he wanted us to buy as our together Christmas gift. I LOVE this thing. As I type this, I have a meatloaf in cooking, and it will turn out delicious as always. We use this way more than we do our grill or our oven. It is easy to clean up also, and I like that it has all of the different functions like an air-fryer, dehydrator, etc.

3. Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier Mattress

The Purple Mattress was Joe’s Father’s Day gift from me. He has been a huge fan of the Purple Pillow (his) and (mine) for over a year, and we needed a new mattress. When I told him that I had ordered him the new mattress, he was almost giddy. He was thrilled at the idea and counted down the days until it arrived. We were dreading the “get used to it” phase, but we slept like a baby the first night and every night since then. We had been sleeping on a memory foam mattress before, but we ended up sweating terribly in the middle of the night—no more sweating with the Purple Mattress. In fact, I go to bed each night with my blankie because it is a cooling mattress, and I am always cold anyway. Lol!

4. Kendra Scott Jewelry

Kendra Scott First EVER Summer Spectacular Sale

I have turned into a Kendra Scott super fan! I have not been disappointed by a single item that I have purchased, and everything has been a high-quality item. This sale is huge since it is already deeply discounted. But, now the more you buy, the more significant discount you can get on top of that savings. I’ve already purchased more items for my personal collection, and here are a few of the things that I bought. Zorte Cuff in silver, Fallyn Hoop earrings in silver and gold (they are going to be less than 25.00 with the extra discount), the Sivan necklace in gold that can be worn 2 ways, the Inez necklace and Aragon Earrings in Rose Quartz, the Inez long necklace, and Edie cuff bracelet both in Tiger Eye which will look amazing with all of my fall outfits, and even though I’ve already purchased these, I wanted to make sure that you knew the Hilty Gold Hoops with pearls is also on the sale list.

5. Loving Tan 2hr. Express Sunless Tanner

Loving Tan 2hr Express Sunless Tanner

I love this self-tanner! It is not for the inexperienced tanner, though. This tanner has a bronzer in it, which I love, but it will also show any missed areas. So, I use my Active Hydration Body Replenish before I apply the tan. This allows the tanner to go on smoother and for me to spread the tanner so that I don’t leave any white spaces. This tanner is the most realistic tanner that I’ve ever used, and I’ve used a lot.

6. The QuiFit 64oz. Water Bottle w/straw

QuiFit 64oz. Water Bottle w/straw

I’ve been using this 64oz. water bottle for over a year now, and I still love it. My bottle is a little different since it is older, and it is clear with a black lid. But, I love the version that has different prints on it, so I might need to upgrade. Lol! There is even one that has high heels and hearts, and my daughter needs the one that has Alaskan mountains. This is a great way to keep track of how much water you drink each day.

7. Apple Airpods

Apple Airpods

Did I mention that I might be a skeptic at heart? Lol! I bought these Apple AirPods on a whim when I went to my R+F convention in Nashville last year. I knew that I would be around a lot of women, and I needed to be able to concentrate on my work. So, I bought these AirPods to put on soothing music while I worked. That helped to drown out the conversations that were happening around me, and they worked like a charm. Here is the funny thing…I use these multiple times EVERY DAY!!!

8. Window Suction Cell Phone Mount

Window Suction Cell Phone Mount

Okay, maybe you don’t record videos or take selfies in front of a window as often as I do. But, this suction mount cell phone holder is super handy. I use it to watch videos while I am putting on my makeup, I use it in the kitchen for recipes while I am cooking, and I use it in my car when I am driving. I am sure that you might have plenty of other ways to use this holder if you think about it. The grip is adjustable, and the suction cup is super strong. I have a large phone, and it is heavy, but this suction mount has never fallen off the window, and I sometimes leave it on the window for days.

9. Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

You might not be on your computer or phone as much as I am, but I bet you are still on a lot more than you think. These inexpensive glasses are great for cutting down on blue light rays, which are harmful to your eyes. Plus, these help with the eye strain that staring at a computer all day long can cause. This is a set that I ordered over a year ago, and this is a pair that I just ordered, but they haven’t arrived yet.

10. Rodan and Fields

My R+F Website

You gurls would be surprised at how many collaborations and sponsored post offers I get from skincare brands. That is probably the number one collaboration email that I get, even though I am not a “beauty” blog. You might notice a lot of bloggers telling you about this brand and then another brand a couple of weeks later. There is a TON of money that you can make doing these kinds of posts. I am only telling you this because I want you to understand that I tell you about what I USE all of the time, and what I LOVE! Yes, I sometimes try other products, especially if R+F doesn’t offer that type of product. However, I’ve never found anything that has given me visible results, and I can share with all of you knowing that you will love them too, or you can get your money back. TODAY is the last day to take advantage of my Christmas in July specials. You can purchase any of the specials that I’ve posted about for the entire week today. To see all of those specials, make sure that you are part of my FaceBook group. If you don’t have FB, leave a comment, and I’ll email all of the specials to you.

Tell me how you liked this post. I was thinking about making Friday Favorites a fixture, but I’ll leave it up to you gurl’s.

The Dyson hairdryer has been on my mind for quite some time. I just can’t get over the price! But everyone who has one just raves about it. I wondered if it would help control frizz? Although, with our current steamy hot weather, I can’t imagine anything controlling frizz!

  6. I love seeing others favorite things as it make me more aware of some things I might be interested in but would not necessarily buy for myself. The AirPod, water bottle and blue light blocking glasses come to mind.
I must wear glasses all day and wonder if blue light blocking lenses are available for prescription wearers or even those glasses that fit over glasses.

Oh my goodness! I can’t live without my AirPods, water bottle, and blue light blocking glasses. I bet they come in a reading prescription, because so many people use readers when they work on the computer.

I’m slow to get to my email. I usually read it at 630 and it’s now after 4 but I had to comment on the hair dryer. In my area hair salons are still locked down but there is a renegade rebel group that are working under cover of darkness when the other shops in the area are all closed. It’s amazing just how well they can do in near dark. Well anyway due to not wanting to get caught they don’t use hair dryers for very long. She dried my hair which is essentially the same style as your is except it’s very soft baby fine and that dryer blasted it dry in a very short time. I was impressed and asked what it was. It was black or grey not pretty but it’s a tool. Seriously do guys fuss over the color of screw driver handles! Anyway now I really want one.

When we are on the road any high wattage electric item has to be used with the generator on and it’s loud and precludes using anything else that gets hot like heater, toaster, coffee maker etc. so the faster I get my hair dry the happier DH is.

More comments: I have an instant pot and love it. I’d love an air fryer too but we have a tiny space and it’s just not going to work.

I also wear blue blockers at night and turn all my bulbs to red orange.

Glad you mentioned mattress also. Hubby has been hankering for a new one for our motorhome.
