EVERY DAY IS A STAY AT HOME OUTFIT DAY
I was talking to my sister the other day, and we got to talking about handwritten letters. Do you remember those things? They were notes and letters, written in ink, and applied to paper. Then, you had to put them in an envelope, address the envelope, and put it in the mail. It would take at least 3 to 4 days for the letter to arrive at its destination. And, then, you would wait for at least a week to hopefully get a reply back. Nowadays, we call this a text, and it takes seconds to send and get a reply.
I told my sister that I was “blogging” when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My older cousins that lived in Michigan were cool and hip. I thought the world of them, even though I only got to see them once or twice a year. But, I wanted to stay in contact with them. So, I would write a long letter to Joanne, the oldest one. Poor, poor, Joanne. Lol! You gurls have to listen to me tell you about my day for a couple of paragraphs, but Joanne got to hear all about the day of an 8-year-old. If my day was dull and I didn’t have much to tell her, then I would tell her all about my favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Can you imagine the delight that my 16 or 17 year- old cousin had when she would receive my letters? LOL! I guess I should have labeled my letters, “the days of my life,” and maybe I should change the name of my blog. What do you think?
Someone asked me how to go from office attire to stay-at-home outfit I understand why they are having issues because it feels odd to do work in comfortable clothing. You don’t feel “dressed,” and everything is off-kilter. I would suggest wearing something like the dress that I had on in yesterday’s post (here), which was incredibly soft and comfortable. I wore it all day long, and it was nice to feel dressed, but also comfortable at the same time.
Or, if you would rather wear jeans, then this is the perfect stay-at-home outfit. I love the lightweight v-neck pullover by Anybody. It is so soft, and the material is very thin and comfy. I worried about the top since it was long-sleeved, but it is so lightweight that it isn’t hot of stuffy at all. As you can see, it has a snap closure at the top, and then it is open until the bottom. It doesn’t show you tummy, but if you were worried about it coming open, you could wear a cami underneath. I started to order this in black since it would go with everything, but since black doesn’t show details very well, I ordered this faded plum color instead. I am wearing a medium, and it is plenty roomy. This shirt also comes in gray or golden yellow, and if you think that this is something for you, here is the link.
I thought that you might like to see how the top is made in the back. It is a little longer in the back, so it covers your rear. This look also gives you a good side view of the shoes that I am wearing. These are a great pair of summer mules that you will be able to wear with almost anything. I have already worn these several times because they go with everything. I love the light linen color and the woven design of these shoes. They run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. Here is the link to the shoes that are under $25.00.
Whoops, I forgot to mention that the top has finger holes for your thumb. I thought that they were made like this to keep your hands warm the first time that I saw them. But then I realized that it held your sleeve down when you put on a coat or a cardigan. Either way, I like these little holes for both purposes.
I couldn’t help but notice my Avi large hoop earrings. I didn’t put on any other jewelry, but I feel naked if I don’t have on some earrings. Lol! These are my go-to earrings because they show up well if my hair is down or behind my ears. Here is the link to the earrings.
I bet a lot of you don’t want to wear tight-fitting jeans while you are working around/from the house. I was thinking the same thing today because all of the stress/bored eating is starting to bring on the pounds that I have tried hard to lose. So, today I found myself reaching for a pair of girlfriend jeans. I don’t usually like girlfriend or boyfriend jeans because they are loose and a little baggy. But, that extra bagginess felt pretty good today, and I like how the jeans fit. These are the So Slimming Girlfriend Ankle Jeans from Chico’s, and I am wearing a size 1 (8), and they fit great. They hit me right at my belly button so that I would consider them a high-rise jean. These are available from size 00 up to a 4X. Here is the link to the jeans.
I had several people message me after I put my scarf photo up about wanting my lashes. Lol! So many people have been had to take off their lash extensions, and Lash Boost is a great alternative. You will be able to grow your own long and lush lashes, and R+F is trying hard to help in every way they can during this time. They are donating thousands of products to people on the frontline, they turned one of their labs into making hand sanitizers, and they have done away with enrollment fees for customers this month. R+F is also giving cash-back for those who are looking for a way to make money. Just think about how many servers, hair-dressers, nail technicians, etc., have lost their jobs. Some of these jobs may never open back up, and people are desperately looking for ways to make some money. If you know anyone whose lashes are starting to look wonky, send them my way. And, if you know of anyone who could use a Plan A or B, then send them to my blog. I’ll match R+F’s cash-back so that they can have a business for the least amount possible.

John 19:30
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
My mom and her sister wrote letters back and forth for over 30 years. They lived 8 hours apart and as child growing up I loved when a letter would arrive from my aunt to hear all about my cousins as we only saw each other a couple of times a year. Different times!
Love this outfit!
You can’t tuck a tea bag for your sister or $5 for your granddaughter or a piece of ribbon that you wore to your prom in a text, We sent small things along with the letter with a pretty design for the paper and envelope and maybe written in green ink, showing off our penmanship and smelling sweet. You could save the stamp. So much better than an impersonal text. Progress but at what cost?
Sorry, feeling nostalgic for the way life was once in America.
You look good in this top but that dress was amazing on you! Are you getting into the tie a bandana in your hair trend?
My mother and two of her sister-in-laws wrote letters back and forth for over 50 years. We would get a letter from Aunt Margie one week and Aunt Edna the next. We lived 3 1/2 hours from what Mother and Daddy called “up home” so I know they loved hearing what was going on around their old stomping grounds.
I’m laughing at myself and with you. I saw a similar top on Jo-Lynne’s blog from Gibson and I ordered it. Today the shipping notice arrived. It’s very similar to the one you are wearing. Wonder if it has those thumb holes! I never saw those until my husband bought me a wonderful winter jacket from Columbia for Christmas. It has a removable liner and the liner has those thumb holes. I’m laughing because I had no idea what they were for. Also because believe it or not I’m wearing those exact jeans. Have a blessed weekend and keep your eyes on the prize!
You look fabulous!!! Love your hair!!!!
Thinking about those jeans.
I so enjoy reading your emails everyday and seeing the fashion styles. Love your hair! I wish I had the courage to go a little shorter with mine. Have a Happy Easter!
Have a good weekend!
I do the Avi hoops on you! They do look so great with your hair. I WANT these hoops but I don’t want to pay $98. I missed the opportunity when they had their sale right when the shutdown was happening and I’ve been checking their website everyday to see if they will be offering a higher percentage off than 20% (which was an offer emailed to me as a first-time customer). My birthday is in May so if a better discount doesn’t come along, I will purchase them with my birthday discount. I do look forward to your posts each day! And so sorry to hear about your fridge. We had that happen too. Once you get used to having the second one, it’s hard to go back to just one!
