50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGGood morning gurls, this week is flying by. Can you believe that it is already Wednesday? Better than that, can you believe that November is already on the downward slope? Thanksgiving is a week from tomorrow and I have not even begun to think about that. We don’t have any “family” plans so it is almost like another day of the week.50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGAshleigh is in Alaska and won’t be home for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. This is the first time ever that we won’t get to spend Christmas with her. In the past, she would come home and stay at least two weeks with us, but she started a new job today. She will be working for the State of Alaska and they only get Monday off. I know in the “real” world that is the same amount of time most people get off for Christmas, but when it takes 13-15 hours to travel home, that is just not enough time. Joe and I thought about going to see her, but it is stinking cold in Alaska in December. She needs to come home for good. Let’s start a petition to bring Ashleigh back home. Who will sign with me? Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGI was going back through my photos and found this outfit that I didn’t post. One sure giveaway is the Halloween jewelry that I have on. Lol! I actually wore this when I was traveling somewhere, but I can’t for the life of me remember where I was going. I bet some of you looked at these photos and immediately said, “no way.” I was right there with you, I never liked camouflage and would never wear it. I even snickered at those I would see wearing it. It just goes to show you that you should never say “never.”50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGLet’s start at the top of this outfit. I have a pair of Camie earrings on. These are very lightweight and are in the antique bronze color. I believe these hang down around 2″ which is the perfect length because of my hair style.50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGThe first necklace I have on is the Broomstick necklace which was a Halloween special. It, of course, is no longer available, but the Christmas specials are now online for purchase. Go here to see all the Christmas jewelry. I also have on my grandchildren’s Atlas that I made. These are super easy to do. All you do is go to the personalize section and pick out which necklace/bracelet you want. After you purchase the item you want, it will ask you if you are ready to customize the item. Click on the customize tab and it will take you to where you upload the picture you want to use. You can crop, enlarge, and move your photo around till it looks perfect. Hit save and then go to the tagline box. Type in your wording and you are done. Upload and your custom piece will come to you in about a week to two weeks time. 50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGI love these boots. They are my new boots by Marc Fisher that I bought at the overstock outlet in town. I absolutely love the color of these boots. I wore them when I was in Atlanta visiting my sister (here) and I scuffed the toe on my brake pedal. I was so aggravated, but then her husband, J.D. decided to show them some love. He went and got his “kit” and he buffed, shined, polished and you can hardly even see where I messed them up. Way to go J.D.!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGI love this plain black mock turtleneck sweater. It is a heavyweight material and is really great quality. I bought this years ago at Talbots, you can’t go wrong with their clothing.

50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGThe distressed camo skinny pants are a pair that I have worn several times, here, and here. I hesitated when I first saw these pants, this was out of my comfort zone. If they hadn’t been so cheap I probably wouldn’t have bought them. But, I am so glad that I broke down and purchased them. I conquered my camo fear and now I love these pants. They fit great, you can wear camo with almost anything, and it looks super youthful. Sometimes you just have to go for it and not worry what others might think.

50 IS NOT OLD | CAMO IS NOT JUST FOR HUNTINGI want to thank all of you for your sweet comments and prayers on the passing of my grandmother last week. And then you took the time to leave Joe and me Happy Anniversary greetings. I never expected to have all the friendships I have now when I started the blog. Actually, I never expected anyone to even find the blog, much less leave a comment. Haha! It is funny now how I have gotten to know many of you through your comments. Be sure to friend me on Facebook, that gives me a glimpse of you.

Now for the winner of the Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream, a value of $62.00 in dollars, but priceless in results. Brandye, you will soon be getting an email from me. Congratulations!!!

  2. I have a camo belt that I love and pair with a lot of things. People always love it and say so! I wold love to try a pair of pants, but the style has to fit me right!

    1. I bet a belt would be cool. I haven’t come across one yet.

  3. Love me some camo. I didn’t at first, but I have some camo leggings that I love. Also, thank you for the prize. I can’t wait to try it!

    1. I need a pair of leggings, but I haven’t found any that I like yet. Congrats on the eye cream. I know you are going to love it!!!

  4. I’m in love with camo this year. I like how lightly colored yours are!

  5. Fabulous distressed camo pants! They look great with your boots and mock turtleneck. I keep adding pieces of camo to my wardrobe after being so opposed to it for years. I currently have my eye on a camo utility jacket and need to just pull the trigger.

The 3 of us did a series on camo items (with 2 other bloggers, no less) and I was quite surprised at how much I liked the print after that!
I used to think it was only for the “hunters”, but now I’ve changed my mind!!
It’s a great lesson that we should be more flexible in our style & likes!!

    1. You make everything look good!

      1. Lynn, thanks so much for reading my blog ?

    2. I agree, Jodie! I think we get “stuck” in our ways and need to experiment with our looks.

    1. I need some of those, Nancy!

  8. Don’t you just love how versatile camo is, Tania? And how its vibe can be oh so easily changed depending on what we pair it with? I too was very hesitant to jump on board the camo train but once I did, I’ve got camo in practically all sorts of styles and cuts in my wardrobe now 🙂

I must say, I never figured you for a distressed jean sort of woman but they look SPECTACULAR on you!!!

    1. I can’t believe I never wanted to wear camo before. Now that I finally tried it, I love it. I know there are ladies out there thinking that it is not for them, but they really need to give it a chance.
