Best Shoes to Wear with White Jeans: From Sandals to Boots
White jeans are one of those pieces I reach for again and again. They make everything feel a little brighter, a little fresher, and a whole lot more pulled together. I know some women shy away from them, especially after 50, but I promise there’s a pair out there that will work for you. And once you find it, the next big question is this: what shoes do I wear with them?
I’m sharing my favorite shoes to wear with white jeans, when to wear them, and how to style the whole look.
PS: If you’re looking for a good pair of white jeans, these are my favorite!

Sandals

I wore white pants on our recent vacation, and I paired them with these Thong Sandals with bamboo detailing. It brought a vacation feel to the outfit without being overly beachy. These sandals are just right for summer outings and showing off your pedicure!
There’s just something about sandals and white jeans that screams summer. It’s one of the easiest combinations out there, and you’ve probably already got a few pairs in your closet that will work perfectly. I wear everything from flat slides to strappy sandals, depending on the day and how long I’ll be on my feet.
Neutral Flats

I wear mine with white ankle jeans and a button-down, blouse, or a casual sweater, depending on the day. If you want to make your legs look longer, try a pair with a pointed toe. That little detail can really help elongate the leg line and gives your outfit a slightly more elevated look without sacrificing comfort.
If you want something simple that still looks polished, a pair of neutral flats is always a winner. Look for tan, taupe, beige, or soft blush. These colors blend with white without feeling too matchy.
Wedges

Cognac or tan wedges are my top pick for white jeans. They give you that easy, summertime feel that works for everything. I reach for this pair so often because they look great with almost everything in my closet!
Wedges are one of my favorite types of shoes, especially with white jeans. They give you a little lift without the pain of traditional heels. Plus, they make your legs look longer. Win-win. You can find some of my favorite pairs of wedges in this post.
Sneakers

I wear mine with tees, lightweight jackets, or a denim shirt tied at the waist. This is especially a go-to look for days I’m going to be spending on my feet, like when I’m traveling or running errands!
I probably don’t even have to say this, but I will anyway. The right sneakers and white jeans are a match made in wardrobe heaven. It’s casual, it’s cool, and it works for just about anything. You can go sporty or classic. You can add a pop of color or keep it simple with a white sneaker like one of these from Amazon.
Espadrilles

This outfit is a little playful and a lot comfortable. This one’s a little bolder, a little sassier, and totally spring-ready. The button-up brings the pop of color, the white pants add some crispness, and the wedges give you just the right lift. The Espadrille Wedges have a little height but are still super walkable. They’re a spring and summer staple for a reason!
Espadrilles are another summertime favorite with white jeans. Whether you go with a flat pair or something with a wedge, they always add a soft, relaxed touch. You can find plenty of great (and affordable) options in this espadrille round-up I did!
Ankle Boots

Don’t put those white jeans away when the temperatures drop. Ankle boots keep them in rotation well into fall and winter. I like a slim boot that fits close to the ankle, which works best with either a cropped jean or one that hits right at the top of the boot.

Taupe, brown, and gray look great with white denim. Black works too, especially if you balance it with a darker top or jacket!
Slides, Mules, or Loafers

Look for a pair in leather, raffia, or metallic to add a little texture and interest. Animal print is another fun option that works as a statement without being too loud. If the rest of your outfit is neutral, a printed shoe adds just the right pop of personality. Or you can keep it simple and sleek like I did with these loafers for a long and lean look that never goes out of style.
Slides are perfect when you’re running out the door but still want to look cute. Flat ones work great for daytime. Heeled mules add a little flair for dinner out or church on Sunday. And if you’re someone who likes a little more coverage, loafers are another great option. They’re classic, comfortable, and add a polished touch to your white jeans without feeling stuffy.
Dressy Heels

Go for a lower heel that’s easier on the feet but still looks dressy enough for nicer occasions. A block heel (like one of these options) is a great option. It gives you stability and style all in one. It’s perfect if you’re heading anywhere you might be walking on grass, gravel, or cobblestones. No sinking into the ground or wobbling around is required.
If you think white jeans can’t be dressy, think again. Add a nice heel and a silky top, and you’ve got a dinner-ready outfit that looks sophisticated and modern.
Tall Boots
I know what you’re thinking. Tall boots with white jeans? Really? Yes. If your jeans are slim or skinny, tuck them into a pair of knee-high or over-the-knee boots and add a chunky sweater.

My Go-To Tips for Styling Shoes with White Jeans

If you’re standing in your closet thinking, “Something feels off,” here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Cropped is easiest. Cropped or ankle-length jeans make shoe pairings a breeze. You don’t have to guess where the hem hits, and they work with everything from flats to boots.
- Color counts. You don’t have to match everything, but you do want balance. If your shoes are a darker neutral, make sure you have something similar up top.
- Texture is your friend. Suede, leather, raffia, these little details make an outfit look more interesting without adding clutter.
- Don’t overthink it. White jeans are supposed to be fun. Play around and see what makes you feel good. There are no shoe police here.
Whether you’re headed to brunch, the farmer’s market, or a dinner out, the right shoes can make your white jeans feel like a whole new outfit. I hope this post gives you plenty of ideas for how to style your white jeans confidently through every season. Don’t forget to have fun with it, fashion should feel good, not fussy.
