I’m beginning to think you ladies are like me, and you like tops more than bottoms. I will buy at least ten tops for every pair of bottoms. Last week, I did a couple of posts on lightweight tops, and I got a few requests for sweaters. Since everyone’s weather and temperatures are different, I’m showing lightweight sweaters for summer today.

Unless I mention otherwise, everything fits in the size I’ve ordered. Each photo has the links underneath, including the size I’m wearing. For sizing reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, weigh between 150-155, and usually wear a size 8 in bottoms and between a medium and a large in tops.

Pullover Lightweight Sweaters For Summer

I like to include a “basic” white sweater in my wardrobe. This sweater will be a workhorse item that can be worn with anything and everything. It shouldn’t have any fancy bells and whistles, which keeps it from standing out.

Usually, I’m all about unique details, but I don’t want them to be memorable on items I intend to wear a lot.

This White Puff Short Sleeve Sweater is precisely what I look for in a basic top. It looks nice and polished so that it can be worn by itself. However, since the top is a solid color with no noticeable details, it can also be worn as a layering top. The v-neckline is my favorite since it elongates your neck, helping you appear thinner. I’m wearing a medium which fits great. This sweater has 42 different color and neckline combinations, so you have many options.

The White Puff Short Sleeve Sweater is not so basic; it is a sweater that will get noticed. Being noticed isn’t a bad thing; it is actually pretty great. You’ll want a sweater like this one in addition to a basic one.

The crochet yoke is on trend for this year. All things crochet are trending, including shoes, handbags, etc.

Here is a better look at the yoke on this sweater tee. It is a pretty floral design and is perfect for summer. I’m wearing a medium which fits perfectly.

Lightweight Sweaters For Summer Featuring A Johnny Collar

I’ve always called this look a polo-style top, but I’ve discovered it is called a Johnny Collar. Maybe the difference is that a polo top usually has buttons, and this style is open.

This gorgeous Blue Johnny Collar Pullover also features a woven pointelle shell print, a beautiful, unique feature.

This is an open weave so you can see through it a bit. I’m wearing a nude bra, so this doesn’t bother me; however, for some, you might want to wear a cami. The sweater is also available in black, which would look gorgeous with my white jeans. I’m wearing a medium which is the perfect size for me.

Here is a lightweight sweater for summer that is in a beautiful neutral shade of tan. When worn with white, tan, or beige is one of my favorite color combinations.

This oversized sweater is thin and features a low v-neckline, so I added a white tee underneath.

I LOVE this oversized relaxed, and casual look! This is probably my favorite sweater, and I think I’ll also get it in the black version.

Cardigan Lightweight Sweaters For Summer

I love cardigan sweaters, and I wear them all year long. I’m cold-natured, so I always keep a neutral cardigan in my car for those “just in case” moments. Restaurants are notorious for being cold, so I rarely go to one without a lightweight cardigan or jacket.

I usually wouldn’t choose this rose color; instead, I would go with something more neutral. But this baby rose spoke to me, and I love the muted shade. This cardigan is exceptionally soft, and I love the material’s weave.

I tried to get a photo showing you how soft it is, but that turned out to be an impossible feat. This is one that you will have to take my word on. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me perfectly.

If you think that I’m always saying that everything fits perfectly, these next three sweaters will change all that. I needed to size up in all of them, but I wanted to show you still how pretty they are. Sizing can be a challenge for all of us, but at least you get a heads up on the sizing when I guess, incorrectly.

This was the first time I’ve tried this brand, so I’m unsure if the brand runs small or if the items I picked ran small. I went with the recommended size, but I still think the sweater is too small.

I loved the scalloped detail at the neckline and placket. The loose weave is see-through, so I kept the white tee underneath. If I had worn a black tee, you wouldn’t have been able to see the pretty pointelle design. Here is how the sweater looks buttoned.

This beautiful soft pink cardigan is by the same brand as the black one above. You can see that the cardigan is too small; I don’t like for my lumps and bumps to be on display.

I wanted to wear this cardigan buttoned, and you can see how the sweater gaps open. Sizing up to a large would fix those issues, so if you are between sizes, remember to size up.

I love the color, quality, and design of the sweater. I’m placing an order with this brand for more items so I can get a handle on the sizing. This gorgeous sweater looks feminine and can be dressed up or worn casually.

I can’t blame the fit of this sweater on the brand. I’ve ordered from this brand before, but this sweater is too small. I didn’t even attempt to button it since it was so small.

The sweater is gorgeous, though, and I love the ruffled sleeves. I don’t think I’ve seen ruffled sleeves like this in a sweater material, but I might be mistaken. This sweater is the heaviest of the sweaters and is probably between medium and lightweight.

Here are the details if you’ve been wondering about my High Waist Straight Leg Jeans. These white jeans are from Talbots, and they fit like a dream. They aren’t tight, but they aren’t loose, either. I call clothing like this the “baby bear” since they are just right. (From the Goldilocks and the three bears story) I’m wearing my usual size 8, and they fit TTS.

I wore these Perfect Crops in a recent Talbots Try On Haul, except they were pink. The size 8s fit me great, and I love the slightly relaxed fit. I’ve heard a lot about Jack Rogers shoes, so I tried a couple of pairs. The Twisted rope crisscross design of these sandals has a casual look and is great for wearing with jeans, shorts, or dresses. The 1 1/4″ heel height is easy to walk in, and I thought these sandals were very comfortable. I’m wearing my usual size 9.

I think blue is your color! We have the same skin tone and hair color. I’m going to get out of my beige and tan rut and go for something blue. My eyes are Brown, that’s why of been “afraid” of blue. 😃

  5. You look gorgeous in that blue Johnny collar.

  6. The rose colored cardigan is very pretty. Love the johnny collared sweater from Talbot’s. Birthday month is coming in May. Hopefully this top will still be available.
