Some of you might be coming to my blog for the first time, so I want to say WELCOME and introduce myself. My name is Tania, and I live with my husband, Joe, in the mountains of Virginia. I have three children, five grandchildren, a very old cat, and a rescue part Yorkie dog. I started this blog over 5 years ago to help women find their way when it comes to fashion and encourage them to try new styles.

You will hear a lot about my family and the crazy antics of my husband of 34 years. I share my life with all of you, and I hope that you will consider me a friend that you’ve never met in person. Although, I have met some of you in my travels, and that is a great experience!

You will see me wearing clothing from all price points, and I try to link to similar styles when items are sold out. All you have to do is click on words highlighted in red or click on the photo of my “similar” items to be taken to the retailer.

I am 5’6″ tall for sizing references, and I weigh between 155-165 at any given time. I generally wear a size 10 in pants, between a medium and a large in tops, and a size 12 in dresses. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask away. If I don’t respond (because some days are crazy), then shoot me an email at tania@50isnotold.com

Today, I am styling an extremely comfortable jumpsuit from a new retailer for me. This is by Gibsonlooks, and I love their clothing so far. The quality is great, the price is not bad, and their return policy is 30 days.

I especially love their everyday looks like this black jumpsuit and this loungewear set that I wore earlier. Jumpsuits are fantastic as a one-and-done outfit, but the bathroom issue can be challenging. No one likes to completely disrobe to go to the bathroom out in public, so I probably wouldn’t wear this to try on clothing in a store or on an airplane. But, if I am at work or at home, then this kind of outfit is PERFECT!

The description calls this an off-the-shoulder style, but I think it is more like a boatneck style, and I don’t think that I would ever wear it off the shoulder. I like that the elastic for the waist is lower on the suit because I am long-waisted. Plus, because the elastic is lower, it gives the blouson effect that hides stomach bulges better. Woohoo!

I am wearing a medium in this jumpsuit, and it fits me great. My DIL was taking my photos, and she loved it so much that she would also order it. The jumpsuit comes in several other colors, but I loved the black because I had plans to dress the jumpsuit up also.

There are many dresses and other jumpsuits on their site that I really love, and I’ll link to a few of them below.

For this outfit, I chose to add my two-toned espadrilles from Target. I love the cute style of these espadrilles, and the price is also great at under $30.00! I ordered these in my usual size, and they fit great. So, I think they run TTS. These are a great flat, but if you would like a wedge option, I’ll link to that below.

To dress this jumpsuit up, I added a white notched collar blazer. I already have this jacket in red and bright blue, and the white is a perfect addition for a summer look. The jacket is very versatile and looks great with a casual look, such as a pair of jeans and a graphic t-shirt. I’ll show you that look the next time that I wear it.

I am wearing a size large because I want it large enough to wear a top with sleeves on cooler days. The jacket is also available in black and a couple of other colors, and at under $70.00, it is a great value.

One of the hazards of not being fully moved into my new home is that I have to pack all of my clothing outfits when I am taking photos from there. Since I am not an organized person, I rarely will try on the entire outfit before I pack, and my shoe choices are few. I had a few other outfits that I was taking photos of, and these Michael Kors wedge espadrilles worked great with them but not so great with this outfit.

In truth, I would probably wear a black or red heel with this outfit to continue the dressy look, and although I LOVE these espadrilles, they aren’t the look that I was going for. These wedges are one of my favorites, but they miss the mark with this outfit. I’ll link to shoes that would have been better for this look below. However, these wedges are on sale right now at over $25.00 off, so I encourage you to give these a look.

I kept my jewelry fairly simple and basic with this look. My long Rue necklace was one of my first Kendra Scott purchases, and I still love it. My large hoops were the first purchase that I made, but I bought them in silver then. I loved them so much that I bought them again in this gold color. The last piece of jewelry that I am wearing is a gold vermeil chain and a gold vermeil cross pendant. I wear this necklace daily and hardly ever take it off.

Normally, I share stories from my family, so let me share a quick one with you. Since the pandemic hit last March, Joe has had me cutting his hair. It isn’t hard since he has always worn his hair pretty short, but he is one picky customer. When I first met him, I thought that he was a fuddy-duddy because of the way that he wore his hair. However, after seeing him come around the corner of a building riding on the hood of a car, I decided that my assumption might have been wrong.

I was slammed on Wednesday with the whole email situation, so he decided to go to a shop and cut his hair. He called me later and told me that he had gotten it cut, and he said, “you won’t have to cut my hair again for a very long time.” I thought that he meant that he was so pleased with his new haircut that he would start going to them instead of having me cut it. Lol!

Instead, he meant that you could count the freckles on his head since the hair was so short. The haircut doesn’t look bad, but dang, it sure is short!!!

BTW, I thought that I would share the HSN Today’s Special with all of you. Since so many of you enjoy my blog with a cup of coffee, I thought that you might be interested in a new coffee machine.

Oh I sure almost talked myself into ordering that coffee maker when I was watching HSN this morning, lol. But I reminded myself that the one I have isn’t that old, and that I have always been able to use it to brew a cup of tea by simply running it without a pod!

  13. I typically can’t wear jumpsuits unless they are tall sizes because I am extremely long waisted. This is really cute though and looks so comfy. I like how you can dress it up or down.

  14. The jumpsuit is very cute, flattering and comfy -looking..perfect except for the bathroom issue. Your new house is looking good…my living room walls are a similar shade of sage green and I find it a relaxing colour.

  15. Kathy Turpin says:

This is my first day on your blog, Jennifer from a Well Styled Life suggested to try you and I think I’m going to like it here very much! Would not wear a jumpsuit, but I like the black and white look that I can copy.

  16. You look adorable today! However, I had to laugh because that jumpsuit brought me back to my high school days in the late 70’s! I won’t wear them because of going to the bathroom issues, but I love the look. I enjoy reading your blog!

  17. Good Morning! I recently joined your blog – you have fabulous style and we have the same size specs! Yesterday I purchased the scallop-edged white pants based on your post. 🙂

  18. I haven’t worn a jumpsuit since I was in my 20’s but have looked at them recently. You fabulous in this and I’m going to try one! I do think off the shoulder would make a nice evening out look!

  19. I love this outfit! I bought a similar jumpsuit from Talbots. Great purchase! Your hair looks fantastic! I am glad your computer glitch is in the past!

  20. Tina Olson says:

This is my first day on your blog and I’m here from Jennifer’s blog. I’m so sorry about the computer challenges. I like the jumpsuit and your look today. The bathroom challenge and my flashback to my hot pink jumpsuit in high school keeps me from wearing one again. Oh the 80s look flashes back at me and I had zero concept of style. I look forward to my morning read with your blog.

    1. Welcome, Tina!!! I am so thrilled that you are joining me and I hope you enjoy the blog. Jennifer is such a sweetheart, be sure to give her a big THANK YOU from me!!!

  21. Some of the Gibson products are sold at Nordstrom so you get free shipping and returns. I am one of those people who shies away from jumpsuits, but I could recreate this look with a long, or midi, knit tank dress. Versatile ideas today…thanks

    1. Yes, I’ve bought several things at Nordstrom, but they don’t carry the entire line. So, for some looks, I buy them from Gibsonlooks website.

  22. Your outfits today just look comfy and give that clean look! And love your hair! Thanks for sharing!

    1. I just parted it a tiny bit differently.

  23. I need to try and change my hair style once in a while like you are doing as it’s cute this way too with the part in a different spot! So I resubscribed since your computer fiasco but now I am getting an email from Tania S and from 50 is not Old so if I delete one of them, will I still get the other?

  24. So sorry about your email issues!!! Hope you build back more than ever!!! I was wondering if you would mind sharing why you are moving. Aren’t you going to miss living next door to your grands?

    1. My grands do live next door, but we aren’t moving…not exactly. Our home, and theirs too, is in the flood zone and is slated to be bought out in the next couple of years. We decided to take advantage of LOW-interest rates and buy a home now. We may or may not eventually move there, but for now, I am enjoying spending the weekends there. The grands are having fun going to the new home also.

  25. Glad you are having a better day Tania love the jumpsuit gorgeous and loving the hairstyle đź’–

    1. Thanks, Bernie. The jumpsuit is adorable and so comfortable.

  26. Anne Millard says:

Hello lovely fellow 50 year old.. I don’t know how I found myself here, it’s challenging hard and finding it hard to pull myself together, everything seems harder at 50. Husband has mental illness, hard to deal with, I’m still married but raising my daughter as a single Mum. I don’t know when I will see the joy at the end of the rainbow, even when the sun comes out it is hazy for me..
you appear in your photos to represent happiness, and taking care of yourself, I don’t know how to start.
I loose the motivation often. I don’t know you but I feel I know you..
anyway, keep doing what your doing, only god knows our journey, he better hurry up and show me mine.
    Blessings to you

    1. Anne, I am sorry that you are struggling. I hope that my blog can bring you joy and peace. I will say a prayer for you this morning.

      1. Kim🌷 says:

        Anne,
You will be in my thoughts and prayers also.
I am later 50’s and married, and the life we had planned for retirement together has taken a different path. Not my path at all, due to my husband’s Heath.
I trust in God that he is working all for our good. Hang in there, there is happiness, even when the path is not the one you had planned. đź’•
