What’s Happening Saturdays
Welcome to What’s Happening Saturdays. I have found that I have a lot to say and share, so on Saturday, I’ll write a blog post that can contain more of everything.
Life Update
It was so beautiful yesterday that I decided to get out of the house. I drove about 45 minutes to a mall and did a try-on at J.Crew Factory. Then, thankfully, I also stopped by Talbots and Chico’s.
The reason I say “thankfully” has nothing to do with the styles at J.Crew Factory. In fact, I found a lot of gorgeous pieces. The problem was the sizing.
I’m usually between a medium and a large in tops. For jeans, I’m pretty consistent, but it seemed like everything I tried on was just a little too snug. By the third or fourth item, I was already heading down that dangerous path of telling myself I needed to lose weight, go on a diet, and stop eating everything in sight.
Sound familiar?
By the time I got to Talbots and Chico’s, I started feeling better. My usual sizes fit just fine. That’s when I realized the problem wasn’t my body.
The problem was my brain.
I had completely forgotten what size I wear in J.Crew Factory jeans and grabbed a 28 instead of a 29. One little number had managed to change my entire mood.
How silly is that?
The truth is, I let the size on the tag determine how I felt about myself instead of focusing on the only thing that mattered, how the clothes actually looked and felt.
So here’s your reminder, and mine: the size on a tag doesn’t define you. It’s simply a starting point, a suggestion of what to try first. Different brands size differently, different fabrics fit differently, and our bodies certainly don’t fit into one universal sizing chart.
The goal isn’t fitting into a certain size. The goal is finding clothes that make you feel confident, comfortable, and like the best version of yourself.
The Weekend Sales Worth Shopping
Ruggable
There is a SALE section where the rugs are 20% off, but you can always use code TANIA15 for 15% off any rugs not included in the sale. My daughter has already picked out several, but can’t decide which one. My favorites are the Provence Sage Rug, the Mallow Flower Natural Stone Rug, and the Bird & Pomegranate Soft Black Rug.
40% Off 2 Or More Full-Price Styles. New arrivals launched, and I tried on a lot of really cute items. These Scallop Pull-On Crop Jeans, denim dress with braided trim, and this statement knit dress were a few things I wanted to try, but they weren’t in my store.
Earn a $50 Award for every $175 you spend through June 21st. Then, spend your reward from June 22 to July 12, 2026, toward a $100 minimum purchase. New arrivals just launched. I’ve linked a few & also ordered some.
40% to 60% off everything, plus $10 off every $50 – These Ankle flare jeans are a favorite of mine. I like the slight flare, which isn’t overexaggerated.
Joe loves their Performance Polos because of the moisture-wicking fabric. I love the Wrinkle-Resistant Linen Shirt that just came in, and I’m going to make him wear it tonight when we go out to eat. You can get 30% off warm-weather styles with Code WARM. Just in time for Father’s Day!!!
15% OFF*with purchase on your J.Jill Credit Card use code JJCC0526 – This crochet dress caught my eye immediately, so I had to place a big order of their new arrivals, and they are linked below.
55% Off Everythong + Free Shipping!

At Frank & Eileen, use code STRIPES just once to get 15% off your full-price purchase. Coupon code expires July 1.
One More Thing
Well, the baby has woke up early, so I’m off to NeeNee duty. The great thing about having the sales in this post is that I can update it. So, check back in an hour or so, and I’m sure I’ll have some more sales and items for you to see.
Each time you share my posts on PINTEREST, INSTAGRAM, YOUTUBE, AND FACEBOOK, it not only helps other ladies who might be style-challenged find my blog, but it also strengthens our community. Furthermore, I appreciate every one of you and consider you a friend.

To GOD Goes The Glory!
Verse Of The Day
Matthew 5:6 (NIV)
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

All great looks! 😀
I Love the jean shorts 🙂
JJill, Talbots, and Chico’s are consistent in their sizing. Clothes always fit better in my opinion.
Like the sailor jeans from Talbots.
Love those pink Talbot’s pants and white J.Crew pants! My small hometown clothing stores are Belk and Cato, so now I’m thinking about an out-of-town shopping trip to have my own Talbot’s and J.Crew try-on sessions. 😊
The front tuck thing: I never get it right and try it and then pull it back out! How do I do it to not look ridiculous???
I usually start with a small tuck between the first two belt loops. Then, I adjust as needed.
Was looking for a 14″ choker this morning and noticed the Stella Necklace you had on with the Tommy Bahama’s outfit. I will put it on the list!
I also worry too much about size but I am getting better. You have to look at size chart. One brands 8 can be another’s 10. You are so right when you say it is about how it looks and feels. Also I find dressing room mirrors to be horrendous. We joke in my family how the full length mirror in the master bath is a skinny mirror. It’s a thing. I always know it will look better once I get home. 😄
The half tucked shirt always looks so good on you. I can’t get it right. It always looks like I didn’t tuck back in after going to the bathroom 😂
I love the pink pants with the pink and green shirt! Bright colored pants are so out of my comfort zone though I’d probably never buy them. If you were to look in my closet my pants are white, brown or black 🤣. Five years ago, I bought a pair of red pants. I’ve worn them once.
I love bright colors!!! They brighten up my face AND, my attitude. Lol
Oh my gosh! How many times have we all done that to ourselves? Thank you for the reminders about self-talk. Sizing alone from store to store can drive a gal nuts, LOL!
🙂 thank you Tania for the great advice this morning.
