Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old in distressed jeans and pearls in 2015Before we talk about the Black Friday of fashion, I guess I need to tell everyone why I was celebrating on my Saturday post. I realized that I hadn’t said “why” I was celebrating once I started getting messages. Lol! When I first started blogging, I had no idea what I was doing, didn’t like to have my picture taken, and I didn’t tell anyone about the blog except for my sister. Nope, Joe had no idea what I was up to for a couple of months. I had decided in my mind, “if I am still doing the blog on January 1st, then I’ll fess up and tell everyone. Lol! But, I ended up telling before that because…Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing gingham pants and black and red in 2015

Joe soon started to notice that I was taking my photos on my porch every day and started wanting to know why. At first, I told him that I was taking them for my sister, who is style challenged. Haha! Finally, I said, “well, I might have a blog.” He was like me and didn’t have a clue what a blog was, or why I would want one. Then, my daughter saw me on Pinterest or Instagram one and thought that someone was stealing my photos until she clicked on one. Lol! I was afraid that people would make fun of me. I thought that they would be able to see that I didn’t know what I was doing. Fear is a horrible thing that keeps a lot of people from doing something that might turn out great.

I was shocked that anyone even found my blog. I was more shocked that they seemed to like my pitiful attempts at writing. Here is why I am celebrating; I finally reached 10,000 email subscribers!!! I get way more views than that a day, but for some reason, people have an aversion to signing up for a daily email. Lol! They might think that I’ll spam them with emails, to sell their email, or that they will remember to check out my post without the reminder, and ALL of those are WRONG!!! So, today, I am celebrating all of you who follow me, who comment, who pin my photos on Pinterest, and who SHARE my content on Facebook and Instagram! You gurls are what keeps me going, and I love all of you! Thanks for starting your day with me; it means the world to me!!!

All photos above were from September 2015, my first month in blogging.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old picks for 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Okay, now it is back to work. The celebration is put on the back burner because I’ve got lots, and I mean lots of clothing to purchase. TODAY I get to shop the Nordstrom sale finally. I don’t have a Nordstrom near me, so I’ve never bothered to get access to the earliest shopping dates, especially since most of you can’t buy the items early either. But, anyone with a Nordstrom card can shop on the 13th, and the sale will open up to everyone on the 19th, so I wanted to order in things to see how the sizes are running for you. I am going to try brands that I usually don’t buy, so I am not sure if their sizing runs true to size, big, or if they run small. I am going to try and save you from this quandary by trying them on for you.

Things are already selling out, but I’ve seen in the past that Nordstrom will hold some quantities back for the 13th and 19th so that all shoppers can get their hands on the hottest items. But, I have no idea if that will happen this year. A watch that I was planning on buying for myself is already gone, and so is a loungewear set that I had my eye one.

I am going to share with you my TOP picks, and what I feel has the most chance of selling out quickly. I divide my selections up into MUST-HAVES, and I grab those and checkout immediately before going back in for my WANTS.

If you have not yet read these articles on the sale, then I highly suggest that you read these (everything that you need to know, Categories)  first, and then pick out your items.

Here are some of my favorite jeans under $100.00.

And, here are some Premium Denim Jeans that are over $100.00

Starting on the top row, left to right.

  1. Frame Dark Flare // 2. AG Ex-Boyfriend // 3. Paige Bootcut // 4. 7 High waist Skinny // 5. Mother the looker // 6. 7 skinny gray // 7. Hudson jeans baby bootcut // 8. Hudson Supermodel // 9. Frame Le Sylvie // 10. AG Prima Cigarette

I also did sweaters and cardigans for you. Some of the colors might have already sold out since I did this graphic.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old picks for 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in sweaters and cardigans

Starting at the top and moving from left to right:

  1. The Navy v-neck cashmere sweater is a luxury 100% cashmere sweater that is under $100. This can be worn in so many ways, and it is very versatile. If I am going to pay a lot for a luxury item, I want to know that I will be able to wear it for years to come.

  2. I love a knee-length cardigan, and this pink one by Leith comes in several colors. I am particularly fond of this pink adobe color and a caramel tan one also. The pink one will work for fall and spring, and the tan will work for fall and winter, so you will get at least to seasons of wear from either of those.

  3. Rust is the perfect color for fall! I have been wearing this color all summer long; it is such a gorgeous shade of brown. I don’t wear a lot of chocolate brown unless it is in pants or boots, but I love rust in almost anything. So, this open stitch cardigan is high up on my list for sweaters. And it is well under $35.00, so it is very affordable.

  4. Dip down just a tad and look at the light purple sweater. This is one of my MUST-HAVE picks! I love, love, love the purple color of this oversized wide neck sweater, and it comes in a couple more colors also. This scream comfy, cozy, and I think it is so elegant looking also. Now you see why this is high on my list. And, it is under $50.00, so this is definitely in my wish list.

  5. The black crewneck sweater at the top is one that you can wear all of the time. This is what I would call a basic sweater. This is the type that you can tuck the front into jeans for a cute look. Just add some black moto boots, and you have an edgy biker chick look. Lol!

  6. The brand, Barefoot dream is associated with softness and coziness. I see everyone fighting over blankets from them that run in the hundreds of dollars. No, I don’t have one, and unless I find a ridiculous sale on them, I don’t expect to get one any time soon. Lol! This leopard print cardigan is on everyone’s “wish list” partly because of the softness and partly because of the print. It also comes in two other leopard print colors that are more subtle and muted.

  7. This is another Barefoot Dream’s cardigan with the circle hemline. I love this one, probably even more than the leopard print. This cardigan will become your go-to for the style, but also because of the softness. The cardi comes in several colors, but I am partial to this blue/gray color. This cardigan also comes in Plus sizes.

  8. How about another Barefoot Dream’s cardigan? Lol! Yes, they are that sweet, and yes, you should consider trying at least one of them. This lightweight cardigan comes in several colors, but I love this heathered taupe color. I can already see this being worn with jeans and a white tee, and knee boots.

  9. At barely under $150.00, this cashmere chevron knit sweater is a splurge for sure. But, considering that price is $130.00 off the retail price, I guess you could call it a bargain. Lol!

  10. I am not sure why my tenth photo didn’t make the graphic. But, this is one that you are going to want to check out. This is a crewneck cashmere sweater, but the price of it is much more manageable. The sweater comes in several colors, and I know that you are going to be surprised to find out that the pink and the rust ones are my favorite.

  11. And, I had to give you one more sweater that I love, and it is once again cashmere. This is an easy throw on Ruana, and it will be perfect for the chilly nights to come. This sweater comes in five different colors, but once again, I love pink. However, I also love the gray and the oatmeal color too.

I know that everyone is loving loungewear, so here are my picks for soft & cozy clothing.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old picks for 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in loungewear

Starting at the top and moving from left to right:

// Ugg Robe, comes in several colors // Moonlight Dream PJs // Cashmere pink Ruana, comes in several colors // Floral PJs // Cozy V-neck top // Indoorsy top // Zella Crop Leggings // In the Wild Throw // Throw Blanket // UGG Fluffy Slippers // Cozy Shorts // Barefoot Dreams Socks // Cozy top //

Everyone loves Boots and Booties, so I had to make a list for those:

// Nadalie by Steve Madden // Born Alize Knee Boots // Oshay by Marc Fisher // Tory Burch Leigh Bootie // Derrika Leather Knee Boot by Vince Camuto // Loyalty Open Toe bootie // UGG Elisa bootie // Paige Dark Wine Knee Boot // Valli Waterproof bootie // Jayne waterproof bootie by Timberland // Gardina bootie by Vince Camuto // Black Knee High boots by Naturalizer //

Now, for some of the items in my MUST-HAVE list, or I guess I should say, “my I would love to have” list since things are selling out so fast.

Starting at the top and moving from left to right:

Butternut Moto Jacket // Spanx Perfect Black Pant // Satin Camisole // Tory Burch Carson Handbag // Ripped Hem Crop Jeans // Tory Burch Bootie // Pointed mule w/chain // Tweed Blazer // Vionic Black Sandal // Halogen Cashmere Sweater, comes in several colors // Marc Fisher Bootie //

Holy Crap! Somebody might need to come and give Joe CPR once he sees how much that I’ve ordered. Lol! But, I’m sure that he will be fine once I tell him how much I SAVED him! Hahaha!

Well, wish me luck today, it is time to GO SHOPPING!

Good Morning- fairly new follower, love getting email notification of new posts. Congrats on reaching this fabulous goal. Several questions on Nordstrom items for you and/or your followers. I live 3 hrs. from the closest store so not sure on a few pieces:
    1. I keep seeing the Ugg robe but for some reason in my mind I imagine it to be heavy. I am in my early 60s and my body temp. now runs very warm so looking for a cotton, breathable robe…is this like a terry cloth? A cotton tshirt?

    2. Are the perfect black pants (Spanx) pants or more like leggings? Do they run small or normal size?

    3. For past few years I have been trying to find a “dress” winter wool or wool/cashmere coat. Seems like everything is either casual, puffer or way over my budget of $400.00. I want something that is at least 38 inches so it goes to my knee. Any suggestions? I could not seem to find your coats/jackets highlight to click on in your post…only saw it at the top but no details as I read the post…sure I am overlooking it somehow.
