PICKING STYLES THAT CAN BE WORN ALL YEAR ROUND

I set the alarm. I had all of the items that I planned on purchasing from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale already in my cart. At 9:30 AM, when it was time to checkout, I was driving down the road and had no cell service. I was like, “are you kidding me???” This was the first time since March that I have even left the county, and I decided to go with my DIL, who was taking my grandson to the doctor for a checkup.

By the time that we got to a spot where I had service again, I started the checkout process again. That is when I started getting the “sold out” message over and over again. UGH!!! Oh well, if it was sold out for me, then it is just as well that I wasn’t able to get the item since you wouldn’t be able to buy it either. I hate it when I buy something, take photos, and then write my blog post, only to find out that the item is all sold out. I know if I hate it, then you hate it also. I did the expedited shipping for the things that I was able to purchase, so I’ll try to do a try on session on my stories on Instagram. Are you following me? If not, then here is where you can click to follow me.

I decided to wear gold jewelry with my outfit today. I love wearing gold when I wear navy; it is one of my favorite combinations.  The gold large hoop earring is the A.V.I., which is a pair that you see me wear all of the time. They are definitely a favorite of mine, and I liked them so much that I bought them in silver also. I love wearing two long necklaces together; I think it is an elegant style. The delicate long Rue necklace is one of the first purchases that I made from Kendra Scott, and I still wear it all of the time. The other long necklace is the Layla Veined Teal Magnesite. I love this teal color, and I think it will look fantastic in the fall with dark brown, camel, gray, black, burgundy, nevermind, it will look great in fall. Lol!!! You’ve seen me do this bracelet combination lots and lots before. This is my favorite way to wear both of these bracelets; I love the stacking effect and how each one has a different pattern. The bracelets are the Maggie Bangle and the Fallyn Cuff.

UPDATE I found it!!! Here is the link, and I am wearing a medium.

You know how I said that I hate bringing you clothing that isn’t on the websites any longer? Well, this would be one of those times, and it ticks me off. The terrible part is, I took photos of this dress in four different ways so that I could show you how to take a dress and make it work for all four seasons. Oh well, tomorrow’s blog will still show you all of the different stylings, and I will link to those items instead of the dress. Instead of linking to this dress, I’ll link to dresses that I think will work in the same way. In case you were wondering, this was a dress by Lou & Grey.

These neutral cork heels are my favorite neutral shoes to wear with anything dressy. I bought these shoes a couple of years ago, and they are by G.I.L.I. which sells on Q.V.C., but they are no longer on the website. I did find some that are extremely similar, so you can have the perfect neutral shoe also!

Sorry about the no signal and items no longer available but you are right, we probably wouldn’t be able to order it anyway. Love the navy dress! Gold just sets it off perfectly. Here’s a thought about unavailable items. When this happens, please provide all the info like the size, how it fits, etc, anyway. These items inevitably get restocked, particularly at Loft. I had this happen on a top you featured. I saw it and started digging through your post. Found the post but no size info. Lucky I guessed correctly. Also, if you see a past item come back in stock, let us know somewhere in your new post and link it. It would be helpful to us and you wouldn’t feel like your pics went to waste.
    Win-Win. Have a great day.

You’re right, Kathy. It is possible that they restock, or maybe even come out with a different color in the same style. I am wearing a medium in the dress.

Very aggravating when you spend time putting things in your cart and then they’re sold out by the time you check out! But part of what I love about your posts is adapting your look to something I already have.

I like navy also. It is less harsh than black, and it still gives the same effect.

Signal issues can be awful! I waited to leave for my dentist appt yesterday morning so I could start shopping as soon as my 9:30 spot opened! Love that navy dress… SO pretty with the gold jewelry. Hope you were eventually able to find some fun pieces from the sale!

You were smart. But, the Dr.’s office is 2 hours away from where we live, so I knew that we would be passed the worst area. However, it was still spotty where it happened. Believe me, I got PLENTY!!!

After reading the first few sentences I checked my wish list and sure enough all but 1 item has sold out. I love the navy and gold combo. You look fabulous.

Linda, that is normal. I think that the most popular items always sell out quickly, but I am hoping that they will have held some stock back for later purchases. But, you can’t know that for sure.

I was just able to order this in a medium on the Loft website, so they may have a few left. I’m new to your blog and was wondering if you have ever done a post about undergarments and/or shape wear. You look fabulous in this dress!

This dress is so slimming. I have long been a fan of Kendra Scott jewelry. I have several pieces and it all looks as good as the day I received. Well worth the little extra investment.

I love the low heeled cork sandals! (Last photo) and I have a question for you and all the gurls. When I wear open toed or ankle strap shoes I get sores where they come in contact with my feet. Not blisters cuz I take them off quickly. So many cute shoes are getting ignored nowadays that I’m home all the time but I want to start wearing them again.

So my questions are, how to stop the chafing across the top of my toes and the heel straps and how to get comfortable in heels after not wearing them for months?

I’m more accepting now when things don’t work out the way that I tried to orchestrate them. If something is sold out before I get it, then I didn’t need it. No problem! I usually wear silver with navy but am going to try gold. I love your ideas!
