Summer is finally here! The first day of summer was officially this past Saturday, and I am ready for all of the lazy days of summer to start. I celebrated summer by sitting on my porch for a little while, just enjoying a small breeze, while watching the grandchildren running around in the yard.
The other day, I had someone ask me what was the best colors to wear in the summer. I love all colors, but there are some that I consider “summer-appropriate,” and I have on several of them today. You know that white has to top the list for the best summer colors. It goes with everything, and it is cooling in the hottest part of the year. I added this long white cardigan to my outfit today to bring out the tiny white color in the skirt. It is so sheer and lightweight that you can wear this cardigan all summer long, especially in the cool of the afternoons. This cardigan is great for giving your arms coverage and would be perfect when worn to a wedding or shower. I have this long cardigan in several colors since I liked it so much. You might have seen me wear a bright pink one in this post earlier this year. I am wearing a size medium in this cardigan, and I think that it fits me great.
Bright yellow is also a must-have summer color. I love the color of sunshine, and I like adding it to my wardrobe. This lemon-yellow sweater tank top is 100% cotton, and it is loosely knit so that it is breathable. The straps are thin, though, so you might want to wear a strapless bra when wearing the sweater without a cardigan. This sweater tank comes in several other bright colors, including a bright green one that I also ordered. I am wearing a size medium in this sweater, and I think that it fits me great. If yellow is not a color that you want to wear near your face, you can still add some sunshine to your summer with these other items.
This tiered maxi skirt is so pretty!!! The blue is so vibrant, and the yellow pops against the darker background. Blue is definitely a summer color, and pairing it with yellow is one of my favorite ways to style it. This is just a fun print, and the skirt makes me want to twirl around to see it billow out. I love the easy-going boho vibe of this skirt, and my daughter-in-law was ooohing and awwing over it when she came over to take my photos for me. The pull-on style is a favorite of mine since I don’t have to worry about zippers or buttons, and it is perfect for when I might have overeaten for lunch. Lol! I could go on and on about this skirt because it is stunning, but I know you want to know about all of the other items also. BTW, I am wearing a medium, and the skirt fits me perfectly.
This is my first pair of toe-ring sandals. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get used to them, but in about five minutes, I had already forgotten that I was wearing them. I thought these sandals also gave off a boho, going to a festival, kind of vibe. The mixture of patterns and textures is what appealed to me; I just love the sequins and beads that embellish the straps. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and they fit me perfectly.
Everyone needs a cute straw handbag for summer. My daughter-in-law called dibs on this one as soon as she saw it. She knows that my attention span is short, so she said when I decided to buy something else, she wants this one. I have seen this design by other brands at triple the price, but they weren’t as cute as this one because they didn’t have the removable raffia pompoms. The size of this bag is practically perfect, you can carry your wallet, keys, phone, etc., but you don’t feel the need to pack the kitchen sink. You can let your husband pack that with him. Lol!
Walmart is a perfect partner for me on the blog. Their fashion is cute and affordable! They were founded on the concept of everyday low prices, and that is still their #1 promise to shoppers. Walmart offers free 2-day shipping on most orders that are over $35.00 and also free returns. Walmart makes it very convenient for their customers, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes.
