WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF WEARING A ROMPER

This is one of those times when I feel like I need to give you a warning. Put down your coffee unless you want to spew it all over your computer. Don’t say that I didn’t warn you!!! Let’s start by giving me a show of hands if your husband has a special nickname for you. Good, I am glad to see that I am not the only one. Now, if your husband called you that name in public, would you feel like hitting the floor? NO??? Maybe it is just me then.

At night, while I am busy writing and playing on the computer, Joe will watch movies or snippets of movies on YouTube. He loves Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and he will watch certain scenes over and over again. One of his favorite scenes is a fight between Butch Cassidy and this giant of a man. After the fight is over, and Butch had won against all odds, his buddy Flat Nose said, “I was really rooting for you, Butch!” Butch replies, “well, thank you, Flat Nose. That’s what sustained me in my time of trouble.” Now, every time I say something sincere to Joe, he says, “well, thank you Flat Nose.” He has done this so much that it has started to become a habit with him. I can’t wait for us to be out in public and for him to call me Flat Nose! Lol! I can just imagine the look that will come over their faces. Hahahaha!

I have to admit that I am a huge fan of rompers and jumpsuits. I have decided that the Pros outweigh the Cons, and I think that you will agree.

Pros of wearing a romper

  • One and done.
  • Your outfit will always match
  • No having to decide if you need to tuck in something
  • They are stylish and modern looking
  • They don’t show your rear like a skirt or dress might
  • They make you appear taller and thinner

There are more reasons, but I think that will suffice for now. So, what about the cons of wearing a romper?

So, now that you are informed about rompers, let me tell you about this one that I have on. This romper is by Lou & Grey, and it is their signature soft blend which is unbelievably SOFT. When Joe walked through the room, I made him come over and feel of it since it was so soft. It has a deep scoop neck, which is very flattering, and it has short sleeves with a tiny cuff. I love anything with pockets, and this has four pockets. I knew this romper has the two side pockets, but I was shocked when I realized that it had two back pockets also. The size that I am wearing is a large because I wanted the top to be drapey, but I probably could have worn the medium easily. Here is the link to the romper.

I just got this mixed beads necklace on Monday. It is adjustable, so you can determine the length that you want. I bought it because I knew that it would match anything this summer, and I liked the boho vibe. I am loving this neutral beaded stretch bracelet. The mix of howlite beads, accented by an etched goldtone charm and goldtone spacers, add polish and style. You will be able to wear this neutral bracelet with almost anything in your wardrobe. And, before I forget to mention them, the bamboo style earrings from Lilly Pulitzer are gorgeous! They are the baby bear of earrings; not too big and not too small. They are just the right size for almost anyone.

These gold braided sandals are perfect for bringing out the Goddess in you. I love the matte gold color of these sandals, and they will go with almost anything. The thong-style shoe takes some getting used to if you’ve not worn it before, but the ankle strap helps to hold it on your foot. I am wearing my usual size 9, and these fit me perfectly.

It is Friday, and I hope that all of you have some wonderful plans for the weekend. For me, I am sure that I’ll be putting together a puzzle with Emersyn since I see rain in the forecast. Maybe she and I will go online and shop for her new bedding for her room. I am sure that it will be a lot of fun to see what she picks out. I can see unicorns or JoJo Siwa bedding in my future. Lol!

Now that I’ve told you what Joe has been calling me for the past month or so, it is your turn to confess the nickname that your husband has for you. I can hardly wait to read all of the comments. Lol!

That scene from Butch Cassidy is a classic. For a while, every time someone in an internet comment thread complimented one of my comments, I would reply, “Well, thank you, Flat Nose – it’s what sustained me in my time of trouble.” The fact that had Butch lost the fight to “this giant of a man” – Harvey Logan (Ted Cassidy, who played the butler Lurch on The Addams Family) – Flat Nose would have said “I was really rootin’ for ya” to him as well, to something presumably less than Butch’s dry wit by way of tribute in reply, is just one of a dozen and more aspects that make that scene so much fun.

Hi. Your site was recommended to me by a gal on Poshmark, via her mom. She had listed an adorable romper. I asked her if she thought if someone who might be old enough to be her mom, could pull off wearing it. She didn’t think so, but to be sure, she asked her mom. I followed the link, read your piece about rompers, then went back and purchased it. When I wear it, which I will, I will have three women I’ve never even met to thank. BTW, I am 57. Thank you so much!

  3. When we visited Aruba, the gift shops had the word “Dushi” on everything. So we asked some policemen what it meant and one meaning is “sweetheart.” So now and then my hubby will say “Come on, Dushi” when I am lagging behind somewhere. It loses something without translation! It also means beautiful, nice, sweet, etc.

  4. My husband called me Farm Girl Supreme. I would give anything to hear that again…

I wear a tank top style romper instead of a bathing suit. It covers up a lot of flaws!

  6. Mary Lee Sturdevant says:

Could you please tell me the diameter of the bamboo Lily Pulitzer earrings?

  7. Aimee Spencer says:

I like your Romper because it is monochromatic and everything matches. I love the navy blue. It looks good on you! Great idea and Thank You for the link. It is on sale today & free shipping!

  8. If you feel comfortable in a romper, I say go for it. Most women have good legs long after the stomach goes south. This is cute and if I wore one, it would be in a dark neutral.
My husband keeps up the tradition of referring to me as his ole lady when he’s talking about me. It has nothing to do with age. Its a southern thang, when he needs me to help him with something, it’s Dear.

  9. No nickname so I can’t share any silly stories…but I love reading yours. You still haven’t convinced me to wear a romper/jumpsuit ?

  10. I don’t like the word romper, sounds like something a little child wears but I do have several jumpsuits! I have a wide legged crop one and one that is cuffed at the ankle. My husband often calls me dudette, usually right after I call him dude.?

  11. I am short waisted so rompers don’t work- I wish they did! My husband calls me Sparkle.?

  12. Love the romper on you!! My husband calls me “Sugar Bear”. I don’t know where he got it from but I like it!! I sometimes call him “Honey Bear”. He actually does much better with using pet names than I do!!

  13. Romper looks great on you.

My eye is drawn to younger styles and I wear size 8 however my age is 63. My biggest fear is that I will look like an older woman trying too hard to look young.
    Advice welcomed.

  14. Last month my husband and I celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. Early in our marriage we went to see the movie Bambi. I loved the scene where the little skunk told Bambi, “You can call me Flower if you want to.” Later that day when my husband called me Judy, I said, “You can call me Flower if you want to.” His nickname for me has been Flower ever since. He uses it much more often than he uses Judy!

    1. I love that he calls you Flower…too cute!

  15. Julia L Hill says:

The romper looks really cute on you. My husband calls me Baby Doll. I call him Baby Cakes.

  16. Laurie Warren says:

My husband used to call me at work and ask to speak to “his woman”. Lol…. He still calls me “woman” at home now….if he calls me by name I know something is wrong ?

  17. Love the romper and your style. Also love the story you shared. My husband and I refer to each other as “Stinky”. He’s in the Army and when he first joined he had PT (Physical Training) every morning. Well he would come home rather stinky. I called him that and it stuck. 24 years later we are still using the term of endearment and he’s still in the Army. LOL Have a great day.

  18. I like the romper look and this looks great on you, however I am tall and it is a challenge to find one made long enough in the torso. My hubby’s nickname for me is “sweetness” so nothing too exciting and sometimes I don’t deserve to be called that. LOL

  19. Elizabeth says:

Great necklace. I didn’t realize it was multi-colored until I clicked on the link.

I had to ask – won’t your local grandson and other grandchildren be a bit jealous that Emersyn has her own room.

  20. I really like rompers. They seemed to have disappeared for awhile so I’m glad they are back again.

  21. Hello

I see you are responsive to my suggestion yesterday to change your links from HERE to the name of the product, like Gold braided sandal. Thank you!!!! I appreciate that and all the beautiful stylings you bring to me.

    1. Charlcy Green says:

I love rompers/jumpsuits but I hate having to undress to pee and since I do that pretty often I really have to talk myself into wearing them! But you look so cute in this one! My husband calls me Baby all the time & I love it!

    1. I thought it was navy 🙂
