I get such a kick out of you gurls. I got a comment on a bra post not long ago saying that I needed to stop showing skinny girls with small breasts. They said I should get real and show an older woman with saggy “girls.” LOL. I asked around and sadly, I’ve had no volunteers so you’ll just have to imagine. 🙂 Even with all of the recent bra posts, I’ve still got one more category to share. Get your activewear on and get ready, because today I’m sharing the best sports bras for women over 50. (I decided NOT to show a picture of me in only a sports bra. You’re welcome.)

Before I start, I wanted to give you some bra care information. According to Martha Stewart, you should never wear the same bra two days in a row! She said that you need to let the bra rest so that the elastic can keep its shape.

What about washing and drying? Hand washing is best, but obviously, we’re busy people! So, if you’re in a hurry, close any hooks and zippers, place the bra in a mesh bag, and wash on the delicate cycle. NEVER throw your bra in a dryer. Finally, don’t fold your bra in half and put the cups inside each other. Lay it flat in your drawer.

MagicLift® Front Closure Posture Back Bra

Okay, I admit that this isn’t the prettiest bra I’ve ever seen. lol. BUT, it has a lot going for it. First of all, you have to love anything called MagicLift. “A foam-cushioned band on this bra crosses under and over the bust for wire-free definition, and the crisscrossed back design provides light posture support.” Plus, it’s a front closure design which is very helpful when it comes to sports bras.

Half Moon by Modern Movement Mesh Zip Front Yoga Sports Bra

This is more visually appealing, for sure. I get SO hot when I work out, and I like to wear loose-fitting tank tops. They make them now with very large arm holes or criss-cross backs, so it’s nice to have a pretty bra showing through. Of course, at home, I can just shuck my top off and run/walk in the bra. Joe doesn’t mind. 🙂

Natori Gravity Contour Underwire Sports Bra

Natori is one of my favorite bra brands! I always buy at least one during the Nordstrom sale. This has underwire support and double straps that are adjustable. It comes in several color combinations, but not all sizes are available in each.

Wingslove Womens Sports Bras High Impact Adjustable Wireless Plus Size Sports Bra

I chose this bra because it has a lot of great features -it claims to have 7 different levels of bounce control! I didn’t even know there were 7 different ways to bounce. Lol. I’m lucky to get one kind! The other feature is the U-shaped back. The shape helps reduce the pressure on the shoulders, which I DO know something about. If I wear a sports bra for too long, I get a headache, so I appreciate any effort to make things easier on my shoulders.

SYROKAN Women’s Sports Bra Front Adjustable High Impact Support Lightly Padded Wireless Racerback

I love the adjustable straps on this bra! This is so much easier than trying to adjust a strap on the back. This bra has been reviewed over 8,000 times and has a rating of 4 stars. It comes in a ton of colors, goes up to size 44F, and is only $29 dollars!

NIKE Women’s Pro Indy Sports Bra

You can’t do a sports bra post without including Nike. This bra has their Dri-Fit technology, which Nike is known for. I love the racerback design and the mesh panel. I like that I could wear it and feel very athletic without actually being athletic. Ha!

Vermilion Bird Women’s Pack Seamless Comfortable Sports Bra with Removable Pads

I wear this type of sports bra a lot when I’m lounging around the house. It’s more about comfort and coverage than support. This bra is for low-impact sports like walking or online shopping. lol. A lot of people like this bra; it’s been reviewed over 19,000 times!

Natori Women’s Dynamic: Conv Cont Sport Bra

Another pretty option from Natori! I love a grey/pink combo, but look how pretty this version is:

I love the wide straps and the moisture-wicking fabric. The size goes up to 38DDD! It doesn’t look that supportive, but one of the reviews on Amazon said, “It supports well for 38DD, very comfortable and a great deal if you can find them on sale but would be worth the full price. I bought this to ride my dirt bike and it held the girls just fine.”

Wacoal Women’s Sport Contour Bra

I’ve purchased several items from Wacoal and have always been happy with the quality. This bra has a lot of support due to the underwire, and I like that the strap is adjustable so that you can wear it in a crisscross style as well. It goes up to 40DDD and has a 4.3-star rating.

Ah, bras. Do you remember when we couldn’t wait to need to wear one?! What were we thinking???

Where can we find un-padded bras? I sure don’t need padding.
I wear 36DD, I don’t want to look any bigger.

  2. sue koren says:

Jockey has some nice sports bras too,.

  3. Thanks for the suggestions. I am always looking for a comfortable one but with enough support for running.

  4. Perfect timing – my neighbor and I have just started a walking program and I want to get a few good sport bras. Definitely looking into some of these.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions. I never knew not to fold the bras in half. That’s what I do. I’m going to see if I have room to just lay them. Thanks for that information. It’s hard for me to find a 32DD. Age increased my cup size.

    1. Everything she said not to do is exactly what I do. 🤣

    2. There are so many bra choices out there now but I’ve had good luck with Wacoal and, in fact, wear the sports bra as an everyday choice. I’m a 36G so I need one with extra support. I fold my bras, too, and wonder why that would matter. Good idea not to wear the same one for several days in a row, though. Thanks.

  6. Thanks, Tania for listing so many great choices and prices for sports bras.

  7. Hmmm I’m visiting grand babies right now but when I get home I guess I need to change my bra drawer to flat not folded!! Thanks

I loveeee the outfits u put together. I wore a pretty dress to church. I needed sleeves so I put a Jean jacket on. I never would have put those together. Big success as I greeted my church fam. I loveee ur scripture verses. Would love to see straight dresses with No flounce. Thank you.

  9. Debbie Barber says:

Perfect timing as I have been shopping for a sports bra recently. Thank you!

  10. I’ve tried sports bras. They all had the “uni-boob” effect. I had to say no. If you can recommend one that doesn’t and isn’t just a glorified regular bra then…bring it on!

  11. I like Wacoal bras and watch for sales.

  12. Getting good fitting bras and no bounce sports bras has always been difficult. A particular store that should know how to fit a bra just never gets it right. Dillards has been the best. No Nordstroms anywhere near here just Nordstroms Rack.

    1. I don’t have any of the stores near me, so I have to order everything online.

I dont like bras that go over my head I get all caught up in them so I might try one with front closure and one had a zipper. Thank You for showing those options.
