The Best Denim Jeans For Women Over 50
I don’t know if you know, but I might have a problem with jeans. I absolutely love denim, and I wear it all the time, so I own a LOT of jeans. White denim, denim jackets, denim jumpsuits – you name it, and if it’s in denim, I’ll wear it. My closet might be a tad denim-heavy, if the truth be told. MAYBE I have a problem, or MAYBE it just means I’m a denim expert. Ha! Either way, today, I’m sharing some of the best denim jeans for women over 50 to fit all budgets.

The Best Denim Jeans For Women Over 50 – Straight Leg
I’m wearing a pair of Mother High-Waist Ankle Slim Straight-Leg Jeans. Mother jeans are expensive, plain and simple. I love how they fit, and I’ll reach for them over all the other pairs in my closet. So, they are one of the few items I look forward to seeing on the NSale. I know I’ll get my money’s worth from the number of times I’ll wear them. Other jeans I’ve paid less for usually end up being in my donation pile. I’m wearing a size 30 in this pair, but that’s not aways the size I need. This pair runs a little smaller than other Mother jeans I own.
These look like the perfect pair of jeans! If the dictionary had a photo next to demin, I’d expect it to look like this. They’ve got the usual zip fly and five pockets, but it’s that CoolMax® polyester that keeps everything cool and comfy, no matter the heat. Made with a blend that includes a touch of elastane, they’re the perfect combo of stretchy and soft.
Up next, let’s talk about Rag & Bone! This brand offers a range of jean silhouettes, from classic skinnies to trendy wide-leg jeans and relaxed straight-leg jeans. What sets them apart from some lesser-known denim brands is their commitment to using high-quality denim. This means their jeans look fantastic, feel comfortable, and last a long time. I also tried on some of their adorable sneakers during this year’s NSale in this post!

These jeans have a lot going for them! The slim fit and bootcut flare create a leg-lengthening silhouette and promise a snug yet stretchy fit, thanks to the high-stretch denim. Imagine these jeans with a breezy blouse and heels for a night out or paired with a soft, chunky sweater and your favorite sneakers for a laid-back day. And as an added bonus, they are very affordable!
Here’s a classic! With a flattering slim fit through the hip and thigh and a straight leg that brings a traditional vibe, these jeans are a must-have. The medium wash offers that perfect in-between shade that works wonders for both casual and elevated looks. Whether you’re going for a laid-back look with sneakers and a tee or dressing up with heels and a statement top, these jeans have got you covered.
The Best Denim Jeans For Women Over 50 – Bootcut and Flares
Frame is a lesser-known brand of jeans that I don’t feel like as many people have heard about, but they deserve the hype! This is the second pair of Frame jeans, and I love them. These jeans feature soft cotton and plenty of stretch, giving you a comfortable fit that retains its shape. These jeans were one of the deals this year during the NSale, and they are super soft and very stretchy. I ended up sizing down one size in them, and I love how they fit.
Here’s a great go-to pair of jeans. These bootcut beauties hug at the hips and thighs, with a bit of give in the leg that makes them super comfy to wear all day. What I love most is the stretchy denim blend—they’re snug but not suffocating, perfect for moving around without feeling restricted. My days of skin-tight jeans are over! Plus, they’ve got all the classic details I love: five pockets, a zip fly, and a cool button closure.
Wit and Wisdom jeans are some of my all-time faves. They’re stretchy, dark-wash wonders that somehow make my legs look even longer with their slim cut and just-right bootcut leg opening. But here’s the real kicker: the ‘Ab’solution construction. The waistband keeps everything in check, and some magic booty-lift thing that I’m here for. And they’re not just flattering; they’re comfortable, too.
The Best Denim Jeans For Women Over 50 – Boyfriend
You know I’m a fan of Madewell! How about these for some laid-back cool? These fit snugly through the hips and thighs and have old-school deep creases down the straight legs. I love the semi-relaxed vibe through the thighs that screams effortless. Pure cotton, because comfort is key, and you can toss them in the wash and tumble dry with no fuss. And I’m told they’ll make your butt look incredible!
Oh my gosh, these jeans are the ultimate find for anyone who loves that effortlessly cool vibe. I’ve tried many different wide-leg pants in the last two years. I liked several of them, but I wasn’t entirely in love with them. NYDJ is known for how their jeans fit a woman’s body, and I’m impressed with this pair. I love the wide-leg look on me for the first time, so you’ll be seeing these jeans a lot in the future.

Check out Judy Blue jeans. They are awesome for us more mature women. The have a great stretch that flatters all body types.
Glad your mom is doing so well – must be the great care she is getting!
Great jean ideas and you look good in them all
praise God for the good report. very nice jeans
Straight or skinny legs for us shorties!
I love my Wit and Wisdom jeans! Also a huge fan of Kut from the Kloth or Democracy too.
Thanks for the update on your mom, so glad to hear she’s doing well. may God continue to bless her with a wonderful recovery.
I am so happy to hear that your mother is doing so well! The PT I went through after rotator cuff surgery was the most painful I have ever gone through. It brought tears to my eyes during several visits. I will be sending positive vibes your mom’s way. I have numerous pairs of jeans, but I haven’t been wearing them that often. I have more from the Wit and Wisdom brand than any other due to their price point, the Ab solution technology, and comfort.
I’m hoping she does well through the PT. All prayers are appreciated!!!
I am so thankful your Mom is doing so good. I begged to die for the first couple days after mine 3 years ago the pain was so bad. Physical therapy wasn’t nearly as bad as getting over the first few days after surgery.
I am going to have to try some of these brands.
I’m so glad your Mom is doing well! In my opinion, attitude has such a role in recovery, and from what you say about her, she’s a tough cookie! I have jeans in about every price range…BUT my all time favorite pair is one you highlighted from Walmart years ago! They are Time and True and I don’t even think they were $20! Happy Tuesday ❤️❤️❤️
I’m not ever wearing tight denim anything either. I was reading that it’s really not good to be in anything too tight for a long period of time. I have enough wide leg jeans and other styles. I like the Madewell loose straight jeans. I’m actually searching for a style like that.
Hi Tania,
Happy to hear your mom is doing well. Nice that you’re close and can be there to help her.
In one of your jeans post, you’re wearing a black with white or cream accents, zip front jacket. It’s very flattering. can you share what brand? where purchased? Thank you,
That was a sweater I bought last year at Talbots, but it’s no longer available.
So good to hear that your Mom is doing well. All of the jeans are cute and flattering. I like the straight leg silhouettes best but I love the variety you show. The outfit with the houndstooth blazer is really a standout!
Glad your mom is doing so well! Love the mid rise straight jeans- so classic
I love the wide leg style of Jean. I think they are more slimming through the hips.
I’m glad to hear your mom is doing well. I think I’ll always like the slim cut jeans over any other style. I’m glad the waistbands are getting higher. I do have a pair of boyfriend jeans I like though.
I like a flare in my jeans. I’m glad your Mother is doing well.
So happy your mom is doing well, Tania! That has to be a great relief for your family. Thanks for the Jean updates!
Youza….those Mother jeans are expensive! I agree with Pat-wide leg jeans are too much fabric. I recently tried on a pair and they were so heavy–not comfy at all.
So glad that your mother is doing well. Regarding jeans, I’m glad to see that the “frayed hem” seems to be on the way out. Not one of my friends or any neighbors have worn these types of jeans, probably because we are of the age where you just never left a raw seam or edge showing. I know, I am old school. Some of the jeans that you featured are so nice but I am afraid that shopping at Nordstrom and Spanx are way out of my comfortable price range. I do appreciate that you also feature clothing that is not that high end.
Tania, you look fantastic in all those jeans. Typically I wear Talbots jeans as they tend to really fit me well. But after seeing how good you look in these other brands , I will definitely give them a try on.
I like Talbots jeans too, along with J.Jill and Chicos.
So glad your Mom is doing great! Great jean choices!
You look great in any style of jeans, glad your Mom is doing so good.
So glad your Mom is doing well.
Still love those slim jeans and plaid slingbacks on you. Not a fan of wide leg anything on you or me. Just too much fabric. Boot cut is as wide as I’ll go.
Great info!!!
