Winter is not my favorite season. It’s not even in the top 3, lol. But whether I like it or not, it’s here. Because I hate to be cold, I am always looking for a great coat. Today I’m sharing the best chic wool coats to buy now, before winter actually does get here and your Amazon driver can’t make it up your driveway! I should also mention that they aren’t all “wool”. I know many people who can’t wear wool, so some are blends or polyester, etc.

What Should I Look For In A Wool Coat?

Gurls, when you’re on the hunt for the best wool coats, first think about the fibers – you want something warm like merino wool or alpaca for that extra warmth, but watch out for blends with viscose, acrylic, or polyamide which might affect the quality. Look for coats that offer sophistication with their silhouette, perfect for layering over your outfits, whether you’re dressing up or going casual.

A good wool coat should be a staple in your winter wardrobe, not just for trend but for practicality; think about how it’ll look with jeans or those fancy trousers. Check if the coat is water-resistant for those unexpected drizzles, and consider how you’ll clean it – dry-cleaning or washing machines. Also, don’t forget accessories like scarves to complement your new outerwear. And if you’re in a bind between a wool coat and puffer jackets, remember wool provides a classic, elegant look while still keeping you toasty!

The Best Chic Wool Coats To Buy Now – From Nordstrom

This Ralph Lauren Reefer Coat is one of my favorite purchases from Nordstrom. I bought the coat around this time of the year, and I love wearing it in fall and winter. It is so chic and sophisticated looking and looks great with dresses as well as jeans. I’ve had this coat for a few years, and it is sold out in almost all sizes and colors. HOWEVER, here comes Amazon to the rescue because this Wool Blend Double Breasted Coat looks almost identical. I always size down when buying a double-breasted coat, and this one really looks oversized.

Of course, I love a long wool blend coat. I don’t like my tail, or any other parts, to get cold, lol. I think this gorgeous red belted coat is a classic. It is long, so those of you petite gurls may want to take that into account. Since this is double-breasted, I’d order a size down.

Look at this black wool blend coat from DKNY! It’s got a chic design, and the tie belt at the waist really cinches you in and gives you a fab silhouette. It would look great with some camel trousers or a nice winter white. It’s a wool blend, which means extra warmth without being too heavy, and the large lapels are just the right touch of style.

How pretty is this stone-colored coat by Andrew Marc? The fabric has a nice bouclé texture, which makes it stand out. It’s got a relaxed fit that’s super comfy, but still stylish. I love how the sleeves have a bit of flair with the double buttons, making it perfect to pair with some high-quality leather boots. This coat is all about versatility, whether you’re heading to a meeting or just out for a coffee! Of course, it’s available in other colors if you’re worried about keeping it clean.

This tweed coat from Belle and Bloom is all about classic charm. The belted design (click the link) is so flattering, and it’s made from a wool blend that feels luxe. It’s also got these cute button closures that add a bit of detail without being over the top. It’s unlined, which keeps it lightweight. Runs true to size and has great reviews.

Now, this Karl Lagerfeld wrap coat in green is lovely! The wrap style is so elegant, and it’s perfect for those days when you want to look put-together without much effort. It’s got side pockets, which are always practical, and the wool blend ensures you get both comfort and style. You could wear this with jeans for a casual look or dress it up with some nice trousers for a more formal vibe. It’s hard to see in the black, but the tie has gorgeous gold tips on the end.

Sometimes, winter coats can overwhelm smaller-framed women. I think this mid-thigh single-breasted coat would work great if that’s an issue for you. I like the length and the single-band collar. This is one of the non-wool wool coats I mentioned. It’s actually polyester and machine-washable! Not how the model is making a column of color with her pants and shirt. It’s always a good idea if you’re trying to look thinner. 🙂

This is a wool coat. 6% still counts, right? Well, you’ll be happy to know that its price matches its wool percentage. This is a casual, oversized version of the wool coat. I’ve shown it in light tan, but it’s available in a lot of others, even purple! Most people size down one size. Don’t forget to add a brooch or a bright scarf for a pop of color.

Here’s one more from Cole Haan. It’s 52% wool, but I’m here for the color. It’s a gorgeous Forest Green, and I like the hood. We don’t just wear coats to be fashionable. Being warm is nice, too! If you think the hood is too casual, no worries. It’s removable! This green color is really trending so get it while you can!

You can’t go wrong with a wool coat. Let me know in the comments what color you wear most!

When you talk about Walmart are you referring to the ones in the states!
I don’t think the Canadian ones have as great a choice!
Keep up with the videos! I look forward to them!

The wool coats are beautiful but wool makes me itch.

  4. I have two very nice black wool coats ( different styles/lengths). I have a burgundy puffer, navy and white jackets, and even a Christmas jacket ( from a thrift store). But, I miss my bright red coat.

  5. Cute coats. I’d like to find a 100 percent wool coat in gray or charcoal. I love my all wool camel knee length coat. I wore it to church yesterday. It’s the best hand me down I ever got. My niece bought it at Banana Republic when she worked there. She paid 38 bucks after markdowns and her store discount. She gave it to my sister but it didn’t fit her. So I’m the blessed one. I know I will never find such a nice coat at that price. 😊. Even though I’m in Texas I wear my coats. I’m like you. Winter is my least favorite season.

Beautiful coats. I need a new winter coat but hate to go shopping for one. I feel like a coat is something I need to try on before purchasing.

  7. LOVE the finds – I have been considering a new long wool blend- now might be the time.

  8. Love the shorter coats since I’m petite and if it doesn’t warm up in Texas soon I’m going to need a wool coat! 😂

  9. Love the coat for small framed women, love the color too. Coats can swallow me up so thank you for showing me what look I should be checking out!

  10. Nice coats I hate being cold too! I like the Nine West wool coats from Kohls

  11. I hate being cold too. I am jealous of your 5 inches of snow. Upstate SC wound up with more sleet and freezing rain and only a half inch of snow, that got beat down by the ice. Stay warm!
