Happy Monday everyone! While most of us complain a little that it is Monday, today I am instead choosing to be thankful. Read my post from Sunday and you will understand why. I had a reader ask me if I knew a way to hide varicose veins. She told me that she was tired of wearing pants in the summer because it gets so hot. I decided to talk about that because I am sure she is not the only one reading my blog that has an issue with their legs, arms, tummy, thighs, etc.
I had to stay late at work last night to do the “end of the month.” So, I am running late on writing the blog. All that to say that I am going to keep this short and sweet. I may not get to link to my clothing today so I am sorry. Blame it on Joe, he is a slave driver for a boss. Lol!
You have all heard me talk about how small Grundy is and how limited we are in our shopping. I probably have even told you that the choices we have to eat are extremely limited too. So when Joe asked me if I wanted to go grab some lunch with him today I said yes but I never imagined that I would be eating at a gas station. Lol! You can’t say that he doesn’t take me to all the nicest places in town. Hahaha
When I was in Livingston (aka home) I got to see family members that I only get to see once or twice a year. My Aunt Nancy, that I used to work with at an accounting agency, came to Mom’s house while I was there. Nancy and Mom are born on the very same day, just five years apart. I will tell anyone that will sit still long enough to listen that “she” is the woman I strive to be. Kind, gentle, God-fearing, honest, etc. Basically, the woman that Proverbs 31 talks about.
It is back to the normal routine today. Thanks for the indulgence yesterday, I am sure many of you rolled your eyes when you saw the topic. Lol! I had a fabulous day though answering emails and private messages. But today I have more important things to do like take the dogs to the groomers. That is always an exciting adventure. Just in case you were wondering, that was sarcasm.
I have to tell you about my Saturday. It was forecasted to pour the rain, and it did early in the morning. I slept through it and wouldn’t have even known it had rained except for all the puddles everywhere. I wrote my post for Sunday and then decided to work outside and get the patio area cleaned up. I gathered up a bucket with some cleaning solution and a good bristle brush and headed outside. Oh, the joys of living beside the railroad tracks in coal country. Lol!
It is finally here!!! The weekend! I have no plans but that doesn’t matter to me. I just enjoy puttering around the house and doing a whole lot of nothing. It is supposed to pour the rain (again) so I might start looking into building an ark. Lol! At least I know where to buy the building materials. I think this has been the wettest spring that I can remember in a while. Today we got a call at work that said, “A flash flood is imminent.” That will sure get your attention when you live beside the river. 😳
For a small town, Grundy sure gets its share of excitement. I went to the bank and post office yesterday just like normal. They are used to me mailing so many packages at the post office that they know the last four digits of my credit card. Lol! I sure keep them on their toes by mailing out packages to Canada and Australia. After I left the post office I went to the bank. I rolled down the window at the drive through and then sat back to post my pictures to Instagram. Instead, I heard this, “Tania, roll up your window and lock your doors.” I looked at them like they were crazy and she said it again. I said okay and rolled up the windows while I looked around. I figured there must be someone walking around outside that they thought was “fishy.”
Happy Hump Day to everyone! When Wednesday comes around that means it is time to start planning the weekend. Now that it is spring/summer we can start doing more outdoor activities. I hate cleaning house but I could work outdoor all day long. I won’t, but I could. Lol! I know the greenhouses are probably bare because Mother’s Day was last weekend, but I still might make the trek and see if I can find a pot or two to put out on my back porch.
Man alive, Monday was a no good very bad day. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping but that didn’t change the fact that I had to go to the doctor. Yuck, yuck, and yuck again. You all know what I mean, yep, that once a year dread that all of us women have. I can’t decide which is worse, us women having to go to the doctor or that poor doctor having to do the examinations all day long. 😳
