Father’s Day Gift Guide: What to Get the Men in Your Life

Gurls, Father’s Day gifts can be tricky. I don’t know why the men in our lives are so hard to buy for, but they are. Half of them say they don’t want anything, and the other half already bought what they wanted three months ago. That leaves the rest of us scrolling online at midnight, trying to decide if a portable speaker says “I appreciate you” or “I forgot until the last minute.” Lol!

This year, I have been thinking about Joe, my dad, my sons Matthan and Joseph, and my daughter’s fiancé, Brandon. They are all different, but most men seem to appreciate gifts they will actually use. Comfortable clothing, helpful gadgets, travel bags, tech items, grilling tools, and small luxuries tend to go over a lot better than random novelty gifts that end up shoved in a drawer.

The men in our lives carry more than we sometimes realize. Many of them spend years being the steady ones, working hard, helping provide, raising children, making the tough calls, and somehow becoming the person everyone looks for when the car makes a funny noise or something in the house decides to quit working.

They may not always ask for much, and most of them will say they don’t need anything, but that doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate being remembered. Joe has already told me he doesn’t want anything this year, but I still want him to know how much I appreciate all he does for our family. A small gift is just one simple way to say, “I see you, I love you, and I’m thankful for you.”

So today, I’m sharing a Father’s Day Gift Guide filled with thoughtful, practical, and fun ideas for the men in your life. Some are things we already own and love, some are on my maybe list, and a few are gifts I’ve heard the men in my family talk about enough times that I finally paid attention.

What I Look For In A Good Father’s Day Gift

A good Father’s Day gift has to make sense for the man receiving it. That sounds simple, but it is easy to get distracted by shiny gadgets and gift lists full of things nobody in your house would actually use.

I like gifts that are practical, but still feel thoughtful. A shirt he can wear often, earbuds he reaches for every day, a framed family photo that means something, or a tool he keeps in the truck can all be great gifts. They do not have to be flashy. They just need to fit his life.

I also think Father’s Day is a good time to choose something he might not buy for himself. Most men I know will replace a broken tool or buy something they need for work, but they may not spend money on a nicer travel bag, a better speaker, a massage gun, or a framed family photo. That is where we come in, gurls. We are not just shopping. We are noticing.

The Sentimental Gift I’m Giving Joe This Year

Joe and Tania in a Framebridge frame. It makes a great gift for Father's Day

This is probably my favorite Father’s Day gift idea this year because it is personal, meaningful, and something that won’t end up buried in a closet.

When our entire family was recently together, I had a photo shoot done. If you have ever tried to coordinate family photos, you already know that it deserves its own trophy. You have to choose colors, hope the grandchildren cooperate, keep everyone fed, and pray nobody blinks in the one photo where everyone else looks normal.

I wanted to gift Joe a beautiful framed photo of us with all of our children, and another one of us with all of our children and grandchildren. I’m going through Framebridge because you can upload the photos, choose the frame, and they send it already framed in a nice gift box. I love that because it feels polished and special without me running all over town looking for the right frame. I’m undecided whether to get a 14×16 or a 10×12. What do you think?

This is the kind of gift I think men appreciate more than they admit. Joe may say he doesn’t want anything, but I know he will love having a photo of the people he loves most. This would also be a wonderful gift for a dad, grandfather, father-in-law, or husband who already has everything.

The Easy Shirt Option From UNTUCKit

UNTUCKit shirts are a great option for men who want to look nice without feeling dressed up, plus they are 30% off for Father’s Day. These shirts are designed to be worn untucked, which makes them easy for casual dinners, church, travel, vacations, and everyday wear.

I think this is the kind of shirt Joe, Matthan, Joseph, or Brandon could all wear, just styled in their own way. Joe would probably wear one with jeans or shorts, and my sons could wear one for a casual night out. The fit looks neater than a regular button-up that is too long and bunchy, but it still feels relaxed.

I like giving clothing when it is something practical and easy. A nice shirt says, “I thought you might like this,” without saying, “Please retire that old T-shirt you have had since the dawn of time.” Men can get attached to old shirts like they are family heirlooms. Lol!

The Relaxed Summer Style Of Tommy Bahama

Tommy Bahama is always a good choice for men who like relaxed, comfortable, vacation-ready clothing. Their shirts, polos, shorts, and gifts have that easy summer feel that works for beach trips, dinners out, backyard cookouts, and travel.

I love gifts like this because they feel nice without being fussy. A Tommy Bahama shirt can make a man look pulled together without making him feel like he is dressed for a board meeting. That is usually the sweet spot for men, especially during the summer.

This would be a good option for Joe because he likes comfortable clothes that still look nice. It would also work for sons, sons-in-law, brothers, dads, or any man who enjoys casual clothes but still wants to look like he put in a little effort. Not too much effort, mind you. We don’t want to scare them. Ha!

The Sporty Clothing Gift From TravisMathew

TravisMathew is another great brand for men who like sporty, casual clothing. It is especially nice for golfers, travelers, and men who want clothes that feel comfortable but still look current.

Since Joe is a golfer, this brand immediately makes me think of him. Golf clothing has come a long way from stiff polos and boxy shorts. TravisMathew pieces usually have a more modern, casual look, so they work on and off the golf course.

This would also be a good gift idea for younger men like Matthan, Joseph, or Brandon. The styles are easy to wear, and they do not feel too much like a traditional dad gift. Although let’s be honest, dads have earned their comfortable clothes.

The AirPods That Helped Save My Sanity

These Apple AirPods are one of those gifts almost any guy will use constantly. Joe and I both have AirPods, and I originally bought them several years ago as a gift for him and, if I’m being honest, for me too.

Joe loves listening to YouTube videos and TikToks, usually while I am trying to work. I bought him AirPods so he could still enjoy all of his content, and I could keep typing without hearing every single video in the background. That, my friends, is what I call a gift for the whole household.

AirPods are great for men who travel, walk, work out, mow the yard, watch videos, or listen to podcasts. They pair easily with Apple devices, and they are simple enough that you don’t need a technology degree to use them. Tech gifts are best when they actually make life easier, and these definitely do.

The Massage Gun Everyone In Our House Uses

Someone in this house is always using the Theragun. Ashleigh, Brandon, Joe, and I all seem to take turns, and it feels like it is always on charge. If it is missing, I just assume somebody has a sore back, a tight shoulder, or a leg muscle that is acting ugly.

A Theragun massage gun is such a good gift for active dads, golfers, gym lovers, or honestly any man over 50 whose back randomly hurts after sleeping wrong. That becomes a real thing, doesn’t it? One day you are young and carefree, and the next day you turn your head wrong and need three business days to recover.

Joe would definitely use something like this after golf. Men may not book themselves a massage, but give them a gadget that makes their muscles feel better, and suddenly they are all in. This is one of those gifts that may be for him, but everyone in the house might borrow it.

The Smart Glasses My Grandsons Love

Meta glasses for Father Day gift

These Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are one of the coolest tech gifts on this list. They combine the classic Ray-Ban look with built-in technology for photos, music, and hands-free features. Honestly, they feel a little like something from a spy movie, except nobody is wearing a tuxedo and jumping out of a helicopter.

Both of my grandsons got Meta glasses as gifts this year. Jett got his pair for Easter, and Huttson got a pair for his 8th-grade graduation. They LOVE them. When younger boys are impressed by a gift, you know you have done something right.

I also like that they still look like regular sunglasses instead of overly futuristic gadget glasses. They are fun, practical, and a little unexpected. This would be a great gift for tech-loving men, older teens, college-age boys, or anyone who enjoys gadgets but still wants something stylish.

The Fitness Watch For Men Who Like To Track Everything

The Garmin Forerunner 165 is perfect for dads who walk, run, golf, bike, or simply like tracking their activity. Fitness watches have become so much more useful over the years. They can track steps, heart rate, workouts, sleep, and all kinds of things I probably should pay more attention to.

I like that Garmin watches look sporty without being flashy. They are practical, and men seem to appreciate gifts that give them information. Steps, mileage, heart rate, sleep score, they love having numbers to look at.

This would be a good choice for a man who is trying to stay active, enjoys outdoor activities, or needs a little motivation to move more during the day. And honestly, don’t we all? Working at a computer all day will make you realize how quickly the step count can look pitiful.

The Portable Speaker That Can Go Anywhere

Bose portable speaker for a Father Day gift they'll love

A Bose portable speaker is one of those gifts that gets used constantly. Portable speakers are great for golf carts, patios, garages, travel, grilling, fishing trips, and backyard evenings.

Bose makes excellent sound equipment, so this feels like a quality gift without being complicated. Nobody wants to spend Father’s Day reading a booklet thick enough to qualify as a novel just to listen to music.

This is a good gift for the man who likes music, podcasts, sports radio, or outdoor entertaining. It is also a nice gift for couples because both people can enjoy it. Sometimes the best gifts for him are also gifts for the patio, the garage, or the next family cookout.

The Travel Bag He Will Use For Years

A Patagonia Black Hole Duffel Bag is perfect for dads who travel, go to the gym, play sports, or love outdoor activities. A really good travel bag makes life easier, and Patagonia gear tends to last forever.

I love gifts that are practical but still feel nice enough that someone might not buy them for himself. A quality duffel bag is one of those items men use for years. It can go on weekend trips, hunting trips, fishing trips, gym days, and family vacations.

This is also a good option for sons or grandsons who are always on the go. A sturdy bag may not be the flashiest gift, but it is one of those things they will reach for again and again. I would much rather give something useful than something that gets admired once and never touched again.

The Classic Tool Gift Men Always Seem To Like

Leatherman multi-tools are classic dad gifts for a reason. Men love tools. Tiny tools, big tools, tools with seventeen attachments, it honestly does not matter. If it folds, clips, snaps, or solves a problem, they are interested.

A quality multi-tool is useful for travel, fishing, camping, projects around the house, or keeping in the truck. This is the kind of gift that might not get a big, dramatic reaction at first, but then they use it constantly.

This would be a great gift for dads, sons, brothers, husbands, and outdoorsy men. It is practical, compact, and just handy enough to make them feel prepared. Men like feeling prepared. Women like knowing there is a tool nearby when something needs fixing. Everybody wins.

The Grilling Gift For The Man Who Owns The Grill

A BBQ grill tool set is a fun gift for dads who love grilling. Summer grilling season is basically a competitive sport for some men. If the dad in your life takes pride in his burgers, ribs, steaks, or perfectly charred hot dogs, he will probably enjoy having a nice set of tools.

I like that this kind of gift feels practical and seasonal. It is especially good if Father’s Day usually includes a cookout or family meal. He gets the grilling tools, and everyone else gets fed. That sounds fair to me.

This would be a great gift for husbands, dads, sons, or sons-in-law who enjoy cooking outdoors. It is also a good choice if you are not sure about clothing sizes or tech preferences. Almost every grill master can use better tools.

The Neck Fan That Makes Summer More Bearable

A portable neck fan may not sound exciting at first, but I promise these things are incredibly useful during hot weather. If he is golfing, mowing, fishing, traveling, or sitting at baseball games, a wearable fan can make a big difference.

I used to think gifts like this were a little silly until I realized how hot summer events can get. Once the heat and humidity show up, nobody cares if they look glamorous. They just want air moving somewhere near their face.

This would be great for men who spend time outdoors, especially during the summer. It is practical, lightweight, and much better than fanning yourself with a paper plate at a cookout. We have all done it, but that does not mean we have to keep doing it.

The Grooming Gift That Feels Like A Small Luxury

The Art of Shaving Heated Razor feels like one of those little luxury upgrades most men would never buy for themselves. The warming feature gives a more barbershop-style shaving experience and makes an everyday routine feel a little more special.

Grooming gifts work well when they are practical but still feel a little indulgent. This is not another tie or coffee mug. It is something he can use regularly and enjoy.

This would be a good gift for a husband, dad, or son who appreciates nice grooming products. It feels thoughtful without being too personal. It is also one of those gifts that says, “You deserve a little upgrade,” which is a nice message for Father’s Day.

The Little Gadget That Helps Keep The Bathroom Sink Clean

The Stubble Buddy is one of those surprisingly practical little gadgets men may end up loving. It helps catch beard trimmings around the sink area, which honestly benefits everyone in the household.

If you have ever walked into the bathroom and found tiny beard hairs sprinkled around like confetti, then you understand why this made the list. This is not just a gift for him. This is a gift for the person who does not want to clean the sink after him.

This would make a great small Father’s Day gift or an add-on with grooming products. It is simple, useful, and solves a real problem. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that make everyday life a little less annoying.

The Wine And Champagne Chiller For Patio Nights

A wine and champagne chiller is a great gift for dads who enjoy relaxing outdoors with a cold drink. It helps keep bottles chilled longer during outdoor dinners, cookouts, lake trips, or evenings on the patio.

I also think this makes a nice gift for couples because both people can enjoy it. Sometimes the best gift for him quietly becomes a gift for the house, and I am not mad about that.

This would be especially nice for men who entertain, grill, host family dinners, or enjoy sitting outside in the evening. It feels a little elevated, but it is still practical. That is a good combination.

The Tech Setup Gift For The Man Who Loves Gadgets

The Elgato Stream Deck XL is a fantastic gift for dads who work online, game, edit videos, livestream, or love tech setups. It helps organize shortcuts and controls into one customizable panel.

This definitely falls into the fun gadget category. It is not for every man, but for the right man, it would be a big hit. If he loves technology, productivity tools, or anything that makes his setup feel more efficient, this could be a great choice.

This would be especially good for men who work from home, create content, or spend a lot of time on the computer. I would not buy this for someone who still asks where the power button is, but for a tech-loving guy, it could be perfect.

How I Would Choose A Gift For Different Men

If I were buying for Joe, I would lean toward something personal, practical, or golf-friendly. The framed family photo is at the top of my list this year because it feels meaningful, and I know he will appreciate it even though he says he doesn’t want anything.

For my sons, Matthan and Joseph, I would think about what they actually use in their daily lives. A good shirt, portable speaker, AirPods, or travel bag would all be practical choices. I also think men with families appreciate gifts that make their busy lives easier.

For Brandon, I would look at useful gadgets, tech items, or something active like the Theragun. Since he and Ashleigh both use ours, that one feels like a pretty safe bet. When someone keeps borrowing something, that is usually a gift clue, waving both arms in the air.

One Last Thing

Father’s Day gifts do not have to be complicated. The best gifts are usually the ones that show you paid attention. Maybe he mentioned needing a better travel bag. Maybe he is always borrowing your massage gun. Maybe he loves watching videos while you are trying to work, which is exactly how Joe ended up with AirPods.

A thoughtful gift does not have to be expensive or fancy. It just needs to say, “I see what you do, and I appreciate you.” That is really what Father’s Day is about.

Joe, my dad, my sons Matthan and Joseph, Brandon, and even my grandsons all have different personalities, but the same rule applies. A good gift is one they will actually use and enjoy.

And if all else fails, feed them something grilled, hand them the remote, and let them take a nap in the recliner afterward. Honestly, that might be the universal Father’s Day love language.

What about you? Are the men in your life easy to shop for, or do they make gift-giving feel like an Olympic sport?
