T-SHIRT AND JEANS

50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANSDid everyone survive the weekend? It is playoff time in the NFL and I bet a lot of you had football games playing in your house. I don’t watch a lot of television, in fact, unless Emersyn comes to visit, the TV is never turned on. But this past Saturday I didn’t get out of the house because is was yucky outside, so I relaxed with two dogs beside me and watched a couple games. My sister lives in the Atlanta area so I know her household was happy. LOL! 50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANSJoe has had a lingering cold ever since we got back from Tennessee. This has been ongoing now for about two weeks. He just can’t seem to shake the cold and is not a happy camper. You all know how men are when they are sick. Lol! It makes it worse that I looked like I was going to catch a cold but only felt bad for one day. He says I am not human. Hahaha50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANSI thought I would go casual today. A plain white long sleeve t-shirt and a pair of jeans is just a normal outfit that I bet everyone has in their closet. I added a Motto cable knit cropped open cardigan to take the look to another level. The cardigan is a gorgeous deep wine color. I seem to be in a wine, burgundy, purple color mode. I wore thisthis, and this all recently. The cardigan came from the overstock store in town but here are a couple similar.

50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANS I just got in this turquoise cuff so of course, I  had to wear it. The cuff was part of the Monday madness Plunder event but it came with a deer pendant. Instead, I added this pendant called the Tiffany which is only $12.00. The Loudene turquoise cross is my long necklace and even though you don’t see it in this photo, I have on my BELIEVE necklace that I bought in Marietta, GA.  50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANS These burgundy/wine ankle booties are by Isaac Mizrahi. The booties are a year or so old but I don’t wear them often. I am not a petite person and that extends to my feet. I don’ really like calling attention to my size 9 foot, so wearing a bold or bright shoe color is not the best idea. However, when I wear these boots, I make an exception. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANSMy skinny jeans are Vigoss that I bought at Maurices. I really dread when skinny jeans go out of style, they can be very flattering. It took me a long time before I finally bought my first pair and I felt really silly in them. But when no one made fun of me I figured it must be alright. I can’t believe I am going to quote Katy Perry, but here goes.  Put it on, throw back your shoulders, and keep your head high. Strut your stuff and watch how people react.50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANSIn case you are wondering about the earrings I have on, they were part of a Plunder set that is not available. I didn’t care for the necklace so I gave that away. I liked the earrings so I kept them to wear with other items. I wanted to briefly talk about Plunder and Rodan and Fields. I have had a couple comments made that they didn’t appreciate me mentioning these companies on my blog and that they found it too distracting. First, I also can sell Stella & Dot, Chloe & Isabel, and LipSence but you don’t hear me mentioning those companies. I LOVE the Plunder items and I wear them for that reason. I signed up in order to be able to get the discount and I link to them so that you can also enjoy the items, the same as I try to do with my clothing. Secondly, I use Rodan and Fields and I LOVE the results of my skin. I never mentioned anything about R & F until you gurls started asking me what I was doing. Why would I not mention these two companies that I really love? Why would I not try to make a few dollars off of my blog? You do not have to purchase anything, EVER, and I always try to only mention R & F at the very end of my post so I do not “bother” anyone. But remember, just because you have read my “deals” over and over, doesn’t mean that someone new is not reading this for the first time. If you are interested in either or these companies or their products, look at this post where I answer questions concerning them.  50 IS NOT OLD | T-SHIRT AND JEANS Here are a few of the Valentine specials that are available. 1. I love this outfit on you!! You look so fresh, casual and young here! I personally dress casual like this 90% of the time so I guess I can relate to this look the most! I like skinny jeans too and wear them most of the time now but I am only 5’3″ and most are super super long for me! so i have to wear them with a huge cuff and tucked into boots, any suggestions on how to continue wearing them when it’s too warm for tall boots? I know wearing them cuffed is in style but I’m short so I feel like the look of the cuff makes my legs look cut off and shorter. Any thoughts on this topic for us gurls that aren’t quite tall enough but petite pants are normally too short for, my leg length is mostly average but it’s my torso length that is shorter than most. Thanks for your blog! don’t worry about the people that are critical, it’s not like they are having to pay to read what you post, I take away from it what I love and skip anything that might not interest me, keep doing what you are doing

Amy, I love my skinny jeans and I am only 5’0. I always buy petites. I know they are sometimes not the right fit for you girls a little taller. Have you tried short length? They are regular cut jeans but the length is shorter. I find them at Old Navy. They are just the right height. Heels help too.

Tania, re: confidence–my Mother would say to her girls, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it.” Haha. She’s in heaven giving out advice.

  3. It must be the same cold we have here in the UK which is lasting 2/3 weeks with a nasty cough. I had a cardigan similar to yours in green which I gave to Charity, wish I had seen your blog first.

  4. Love your blog; it’s one of the few that I read every day!!! And personally, I do not find your mentions of Plunder or R&F distracting in anyway. Haven’t bought anything yet, but I keep looking 😉

I love your casual look. You are so right, if we feel good about our look for the day, we come across with confidence.
    Love your honest posts.
One day I came to the office, asked my Secretary, how was your weekend? She said, ” 3 words, HUSBAND HAS COLD” . that happened 20 years ago and it still makes me smile.

I do love that sweater—it’s something I could totally see myself knitting for me!!
And I love that you added in turquoise jewelry which goes with the outfit but doesn’t “match”!!

  7. love this sweater – the cut and the color both !

  8. Love your style. It must be dangerous living near the overstock outlet, and the other outlets too.

  9. Perfect casual outfit….love how you accessorize! Love your blog, keep doing what you’re doing!!

  10. Hi Tania, I love reading your blog every morning. Consider sending Joe to the doctor. I don’t want to be Debbie Downer, but a lingering cold can sometimes mean that something a bit more serious is going on behind the scenes. I hope he feels better soon.

    1. That is not being a Debbie Downer that is just being smart and concerned. My mother and son also have the same thing and theirs is still lingering also. It must be a type of cold that is going around.
