How was your weekend? I love scrolling FaceBook after weekends when significant events have happened and looking at everyone’s posts. Okay, in reality, I am looking at everyone’s outfits. Lol! I don’t mean that in a bad way, I love seeing how pretty everyone looks. I saw some photos of the gorgeous Easter hats on FaceBook; they could even rival the Kentucky Derby hat’s that we will see on May 4th. I wish that I looked good in hats because I love the statement that a hat can make. I did buy a hat when I went shopping after I went to the doctor, but the only statement that hat is going to make is, “keep the sun out of my eyes, please.”I know some of you are wondering about the hat, so here it is. Just click on the photo to be taken to the link. I plan on wearing this when I am in Florida later this week, so grab yours now, and we can be twins after I show you what I have in mind. It is simple, casual, and I hope, cute!
Today I have plans to get my hair cut and colored. It might come as a shock to some of you, but my hair is not naturally the color of my house. Lol! I am going to have to paint my house a different color so that I don’t blend into the walls. Haha! After that, I might go and get my nails done. It has been about three weeks, and they are starting to look ragged. Here is a tip if you are like me and put off going to get a manicure as long as possible…choose a nude or a pale colored polish. You can’t see how bad the nails look when they are grown out with the nude or light colored polish. If you have a bright coral or a red color on your nails, then you better go ahead and make an appointment to get your nails done in about two weeks. See how bad they are grown out? But, because the color of the polish is almost the same as my nail bed, you can’t tell unless you are looking closely. The weather got chilly this past week, so I had to bring out a long sleeve shirt. I just bought this poet top last week which was perfect timing. Romantic clothing seems to be everywhere this year in the stores. I don’t like lots of frills and ruffles, and even though this top has ruffles at the neckline and sleeves, they are small and not overwhelming. You can choose to button the neck to make it have a high-neck look, but I prefer a v-neck style for me, it is more flattering. (aka doesn’t show my chin(s)) This top is 100% Lyocell which I have no idea what that means, but I know that it is lightweight and flowy. Also, it is machine washable and tumble to dry, and THAT I can understand. Lol! For sizing purposes, I am wearing a large, and it fits great. Here is the link for the top which happens to be under $30.00. I didn’t get a great photo of the Shannon necklace that I am wearing. Capturing the color and the details of this necklace is hard. You can check it out on the website (here) for a better picture. I like that it has several different colored beads and that it has both silver and gold tones. You can wear it with silver or gold, and feel right at home. The earrings that I have on are a discontinued pair, but I am sure that I will be able to find something for you to look at that will be similar. I like the simpleness of the Ramona bracelet. It has cream marbled beads, and a gold bar strung on an elastic cord. The elastic cord makes it easy to put on and take off, and you don’t have to fumble with clasps.
I am crushing on striped pants this year. I have several in my closet already, but that hasn’t stopped me from adding to my collection. I just got this pair in from Target, (here) and you will see me styling them later on the blog. This is an old pair that I bought from Cato Fashions last year. I love flowy wide legged pants because they are comfortable and there are days when I don’t want anything touching me. I am sure that we can agree that we all have days like that, some of more than most. I am thrilled that wide-legged pants are in style right now because when I wear them, it looks like I am a fashionista instead of someone just wanting to be comfortable Lol!!! Here is a link to several striped pants that I like, and I even have one of these sitting on my counter, still in the box, to hopefully hit the blog soon.
I hope you enjoyed the casual and romantic look today. Since I am starting to gear up to head to Florida later this week, I was wondering if you ladies might like a “must have for the beach” type post? Leave a comment about that, plus any other type post that you are interested in seeing me try and tackle.

I SO love this outfit & it makes you look so skinny! I have been wanting a pair of those pants & that outfit would be perfect for my upcoming cruise in a week! But I haven’t seen that exact type here in little Roswell. Of course, you always look fab in blue! I have several hats & never wear them because they flatten my hair & ruin my bangs for later. Your hate tho looks so cute & wouldn’t do that. I am worried about my hair on a cruise where it’s humid & my hair flops w/humidity! Yes, please tell us “what we MUST take to the beach”!
Hi – I am a brand new blog subscriber & really enjoying it! Your eyelashes are amazing! I am assuming you are using the R&F Lash Boost?? Or, if not, any other tips for your lashes?
I don’t recall ever seeing you with a hat. I wear one all the time (being a brunette it helps cover up the zebra stripe when I’m going to long between coloring my hair) Looking forward to seeing your beach style.
Oh my! I love the Zebra stripe comment so much more than when Joe calls it the Skunk stripe. I’ll have to tell him that he needs to change animals. Lol!
Very cool and comfortable look today. Two thumbs up. I love that necklace and the bracelet too. A post on “beach must haves” would be helpful as I hope to get to go to the beach this summer. If I know it will be a while before I get my nails done I always do a French tip or some other nude color for the very reasons you mentioned. Last time I got a bright coral so I’ll be going back next week for sure.
The tummy area is my problem also. I will do a front tuck if I can have extra material giving it a pouf. Then, it looks like my tummy is part of the pouf. Lol!
Speaking of the Kentucky Derby…I am headed there this year! I have my outfits ready but keep changing my mind and finding new things to wear. I would love to know what you think would be appropriate/stylish!!!!
I haven’t been to the Derby is over 30 years. Lol! I love dressing up for things like this, but I also would want to be comfortable. That can be a hard line to walk. Lol!
Elizabeth, I have really been pleasantly surprised at how nice the clothing that I have ordered has been! There is a cute top that will be on tomorrow’s blog that you don’t want to miss.
Hello Tania, “yes, please” on the “must have for the beach”! I too am going to Florida soon and would love to see a blog on that! I love your blog by the way, it’s the first email I open in the morning when I go to my emails!

It is the Lash Boost. If you look back to some of my first posts, you will see that I didn’t have any lashes. Lol!

I almost got a bright coral when I went today, but in the end, I decided on a dark mauve.
Really like that top. I like doing a French manicure for the same reason.
Exactly! It makes it so hard to tell when those nails start to grow out.
I wish I could do a front tuck with my tops, but
My tummy area is my problem area and I feel it just accentuates the area for me.

Love todays look on you, so soft and feminine. The aqua colored earrings are a great foil for that blue top and the necklace works really well too.
I hope you are going places today, you need to be seen ?.
The emoji shown is not the one I picked!
Thanks, I love this outfit. The only place that I will be going to is the hairdresser and maybe to get a manicure. Lol!

Ditto! Beach must haves, please. I absolutely love your entire outfit. Target, here I come!
You look beautiful, BTW.

Great, Donna! I am glad that you think that would be a good post. I may start working on that one soon.
