Spanx Review: The Perfect Pant

If you gurls are tired of trying on pants after pants just to find the right fit, you’ll love today’s post! Say hello to Spanx’s Perfect Pants – a possible answer to all your pant-related problems! These pants are designed to fit your body type like a glove and provide ultimate comfort. Today, I’m going to share my honest review on some of the most popular products from Spanx’s Perfect Pant collection, as well as show you how I styled them!

Spanx Review: The Perfect Pant

I’ve had the chance to try out a few pairs of pants from Spanx’s Perfect Pant collection, and I must say, I’m pretty impressed. I really like that most pairs are available in sizes XS-3X. Let me tell you about my experience with each one of them!

The Perfect Pant

Let’s start with their original Perfect Pant! They are incredibly comfortable and fit like a glove. I feel like they do a great job at slimming and elongating my legs, and they look great with both flats and heels.

The material is soft yet substantial, but that’s not my favorite part about these pants! My absolute favorite part is that they are made with no zippers and no buttons! You heard me right… the stretchy waistband makes them sooo easy to pull on and off. I’m wearing a large, which is the perfect size for me.

I love wearing these pants with a tucked-in blouse or a cropped top for a chic, sophisticated look. I chose to pair them with an off-the-shoulder leopard print top I’ve had for years. Unfortunately, this top is no longer available, but here is one that is similar.

The Perfect Pant, Wide Leg

Now let’s move on to the Wide Leg version of the Perfect Pant! These pants are a must-have for anyone who loves a classic, wide-legged silhouette. Wide-leg pants are super on trend right now, and I must say that I am a fan of this style. I wrote a guide on wearing wide leg pants and jeans here that might be helpful if you’re new to this trend!

I’m wearing black, but these pants also come in charcoal and navy. I love that the Perfect Pants are machine washable because who has time to go to the dry cleaner all the time?

The Perfect Pant Hi-Rise Flare

Next up, let’s chat about the Perfect Pant Hi-Rise Flare. Flares pants and jeans are also trending big time right now! These pants have a much higher rise than the other two pairs, and the hidden core shaping technology creates such a flattering fit! The material is soft and stretchy, making them incredibly comfortable to wear all day long.

Like the above Wide Leg version, they come in black, navy, and charcoal. However, these also come in a super fun red! I love pairing these pants with a simple top and a pair of heels for an effortlessly stylish look. The brand says the style runs long, so they can be worn with heels, so if you intend to wear them with flats, you might consider getting them hemmed.

The Perfect Pant Kick Flare

Okay, gurls, I think these Perfect Pant Kick Flares might be a favorite for spring and summer! They have the same great quality fabric, pull-on style, and hidden core shaping technology as the other pairs, but the cropped style will be so great for warm days.

The kick flare adds a fun, modern twist to a classic black pant, making it perfect for both casual and dressy occasions. I think they look cute with both flats and heels, and I can’t wait to see how many different ways I can wear them!

Stretch Twill Cropped Wide Leg Pant

The Stretch Twill Cropped Leg Pants are not technically part of the Perfect Pant collection, but I wanted to throw them into the mix! Similar to the Perfect Pants, they have no button or zipper, and they say you “shimmy them on.” I laughed because I think we all have shimmied on a pair of pants before, LOL! I will say that it took me a little longer to shimmy in these, but once on, they fit great.

I love how flattering these are, and the rear pocket placement is on point! Spanx says they do this on purpose for a booty lift… sign me up!

I went with the color “bone,” but they also come in white. I think either shade would be a great addition to your spring and summer wardrobe, since they will go with absolutely any color top you pick!

The Perfect Pant Button Wide Leg

Last but certainly not least, I’m wearing the Perfect Pant Button Wide Leg. They are made with three decorative gold buttons on each hip, which I thought was such a fun little detail to dress them up a little.

This material is a lot thicker than the other pairs from the Perfect Collection, and although it says they are made with hidden core technology, I don’t feel like they hold me in quite as much at the waist. I don’t like feeling squeezed, so I don’t mind that they have a little less compression, but I thought it was worth noting. I love the look of these, but they seem to run much larger than the other pants. I’m wearing a large, and these are way too big for me.

  1. Love these pants but who can pay $100+ for pants these days? Guess. i’ll just stick with the ones already in my closet!

  2. Girl, you should be a model! On everyone of these outfits ( and most of your posts) you look way better in the pictures items than the models on the links! I love the kicks version of the Spankz!

  3. Sheila Reeves says:

I recently tried their Perfect Kick Flare jeans and was blown away by their comfort and style. I have never received so many compliments on a pair of jeans before! The fit is perfect, and they have a flattering effect on my figure. I also ordered the Perfect Pant in red and the t-shirt bodysuit, both of which I absolutely love. The Perfect Pant is versatile and can be worn for both formal and casual occasions. The t-shirt bodysuit is a game-changer, and I can wear it with virtually anything. Overall, I am impressed with Spanx’s quality, effectiveness, and stylish design. The only downside is the pants can be long, always check the length before ordering.

    1. I’m impressed with their quality, too!

  4. I was a little late getting my mail, but Praise the Lord about your brother. God is so good!

  5. So glad to hear your brother is doing well and out of the hospital. Thankful Joe is doing well also.

  6. I have a SPANX travel set that I like. I should have exchanged the pants for a smaller size but tunic is long so I’m ok. I do want to order from the collection but the SPANX sizing is troublesome. You said that you ordered a large but if I remember your usually a 8 medium? Do I need to order a larger size in the perfect pant? I’m a 14 and usually order a large but your post makes me think I need a xl?

    1. I would order a size larger than you normally wear. However, the last pair with the buttons run large, so I would order my usual size.

  7. Jane Martin says:

All the Spanx pants look very flattering. I love black knit pants and these look like a good choice.
    Thank you

  8. So good to hear about your brother’s surgery and getting out of the hospital so quickly. To God be the glory!

  9. Stephanie Weeks says:

I love your shoes pictured with the perfect pant. What brand are they? I too am horrible at decorating…..

    1. If it is the tan heel with the cross strap, that is by Michael Kors, and it no longer available.

  10. I may invest in the crop kick flare! I typically wear a medium, but I always size up to a large with Spanx. I usually wait until they go on sale.

I’m happy your brother and Joe are doing well! Tell Joe I feel is pain about not being able to drive. I had rotator cuff surgery the end of December. It’s very humbling!

  11. Tanya, I feel the same way about you!!! We’ve never met but I refer to you as my friend quite often.
I enjoy your blog, you were my first one, now I follow several.
Are you still involved with your energizer bunny friend? I haven’t heard you mention any trips lately with that group.

    1. Yes, in fact, I talked to her today. I don’t see her as often since we moved, but I’ll see her more this summer. We both belong to the same golf club, so we will sometimes meet there and go swimming.

  12. Nice wide leg options, enjoy decorating

  13. Vickey F Vaughan says:

I am so glad Joe and your brother are doing well. Prayer works many medical miracles. They shall remain on my prayer list.

  14. Congratulations on your brother’s swift start to recovery! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

  15. The kick flares and the high rise flares are definitely my favorites!

  16. You look fantastic in those pants! Happy to hear that your brother is doing well and hope he has a speedy recovery. I always have visions for decorating my table but they never look quite the same as the picture in my head!

  17. Julie Lozano says:

Tania: the blue perfect pant in the 1st pic is just stunning on you! Slimming and lovely. I’m so tempted to try them on my 5’1 frame. Buying pants is more traumatic than buying a bathing suit…..
    Great post today! Blessings ♥️

    1. Lol! Nothing is more traumatic than swimsuits. Well, except taking photos of yourself in them and then putting them on the internet. 😱

  18. Suzanne Hudson says:

spanx pants are fabulous, even for us apple shaped girls!

  19. Praise God for your brothers surgery outcome! Also glad to hear Joe is healing well.
I love Spanx – they are definitely quality but very pricey. You look adorable in them❤️. Thanks for sharing all the different styles !

  20. Love Love Love Spanx pants. I work in a casual office environment everyday, these are my go to, I reach for these 90% more than any of the others in my closet. They are the most flattering pants you can buy. They “lift and tuck” in all the right places. I too have a pair you have to “shimmy on” but like Tania mentioned, once they are on the fit is amazing.
I do not have the Button Wide Leg and am going to correct that problem immediately. Thank You Tania for doing a post on these.

    1. I’m glad to hear you like them as much as I do.

  21. These pants look great! Do they fit snug in the seat area, and would need to avoid VPL when wearing?

So glad that your brother is doing well too! The Lord heard our prayers

    1. Amy, I don’t think they fit snug since I haven’t noticed.

  22. Susan Mckenzie says:

You look amazing in all of those pants!! Nice selections!!!

  23. I’m always afraid to spend a lot of money on clothes because if I do, I seem to always either gain or lose weight and then they don’t fit!!

  24. Spanx are pricey but they certainly look like they fit great!

  25. Carol Hill says:

Love the High Rise Flare. Also have some Spanx Air that I love. Thanks for including Spanx in your reviews.

  26. Marilyn Byrnside says:

PTL for the success of your brother’s surgery! Now we pray for a quick and complete recovery 🙏
I’m sure these are great pants, but I don’t see me ever paying that much for one pair of pants. I guess I’m more of a quantity over quality person, but I could get 4-6 pairs of good quality pants at Penney’s or Kohls for this price. Thanks for showing them though. Your blog is usually the first email I read every day, and I feel much more “on trend” because of you!

    1. Marilyn, I’ve always been a quantity over quality person too. But, I’ve started to choose quality lately, and pare down my wardrobe. It is a process, and it isn’t easy to do.

  27. That’s great news about your brother! Prayer does work. Love these pants.

I hope you do show your table decorated for Easter. I’m wanting to do mine different this year.

  28. I love pants with no zippers or buttons. Seem to hug you better. Thanks for sharing these. I would love to try the Spanx pants. Have a blessed day Tania!

  29. Paulette Kevy says:

Thank you thank you and thank you twice more for covering pants styles and brands! I need help in this area.
Prayers have been going out to Joe and your brother too. I’m not a frequent commenter but I am a frequent reader! Thank you, Tania.

    1. Paulette, thanks for taking the time to comment!

  30. I think the perfect pant wide leg and flare leg make your legs look the longest compared to the others. It’s hard to tell on the last one because I can’t see your shoes. The longer the pant the longer your legs look unless they drag on the floor too much. I’ve never tried Spanx pants but I always have to size up on shape wear and I’m a small size. I don’t think I’ve even worn my medium Spanx shape wear because it’s a struggle pulling them up.

  31. look so polished on you! I need to order already!

  32. Gayla Greer says:

    Tania,
I love. the Spanx pants! and I really love the Triple compartment crossbody purse. I am going to order it today! Thank you for your blog posts, they inspire me so much.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoy my posts!

  33. sue ann koren says:

Are these available in any stores or only on-Line?
Would love to be able to try on in person versus ordering and sending back.

    1. Sue, I have no idea since I don’t have stores near me. I always order everything online, including my groceries. Lol!

    2. Sue Ann, Dillard’s carries Spanx. The bigger stores probably have a better selection. I’ve seen them before at my small Dillard’s.

  34. Those are all great slacks! But, darn are they expensive!

    1. I know. They are expensive.

  35. Do the Spanx pants run true to size? I have a wider middle (apple shape). I am worried they will be too tight in the waist. Also, would they work for travel or do they wrinkle?

    1. I always size up one size in SPANX clothing. So, instead of ordering a medium, I will get a large.

  36. You look like a million bucks in that first pair!

  37. Gay Manning says:

Love the look of the perfect pant!!!! I plan to check them out 😀

  38. Nancy Worthy says:

I love the nude heels with the spanx perfect pant. Can you give the details on them?

    1. The ones in the first photo? Those are a pair by Michael Kors that are no longer available.

  39. Great review on this pant collection! Loving the first pair.

  40. Amy Alexander says:

I keep looking at all of the Spanx pants, but I just struggle to justify spending that much on a single pair of pants. And maybe I need to buy these and quit buying 5-6 pairs at $30-40 each that I never really like how they fit. I especially like the Kick Flares and the wide leg ones!

    1. It is hard to start buying quality over quantity, I still struggle with that sometimes.

  41. Thank you for the tips for the pants. I like the versatility of the ones you shared I am glad your brother and Joe are doing better. Answered prayers!

  42. Thank you for a great review!

  43. Thank you for the in-depth review of spanx pants. I’m going with the kick flare. I so appreciate your explanation of each pair. After all the pants are slightly pricey and I want to understand what I am getting. Also thanks for sharing your size that helps me gauge what size I need

I’m glad Joe and your brother are doing better.

    1. I’m glad this post is helpful. I normally size up when ordering SPANX, but occasionally that backfires like it did with the button wide leg pants.

  44. I have heard great reviews about Spanx pants from friends. I wish the price
point is a bit lower but I guess you need to pay for quality.
Great news about your brother-prayers do work!!

    1. Karen, the quality is exceptional, but their prices are quite high.

  45. Tania, so glad to hear your brother is doing well. I consider you a dear friend too even though we’ve never met. Love the Spanx post! Have a wonderful day!

  46. Lori Lorenzini says:

I love these looks if they were only for those of us that are 5’1”. They just don’t look the same on us short legged women.

  47. Sheryl Szostak says:

I bought a pair of white spanx slim pants last year and love them. One reason I like them so much is that you absolutely can’t see through the material. They don’t currently have them available but if they do in the future I will buy another pair.

  48. I saw a bunny like that at Walmart. It was $25. I won’t spend that. It is cute. Love SPANX pants. I have several pairs. Have a blessed day.

  49. Cathy Carter says:

I like the kick flare best but all of them look great on you. Community is a wonderful thing…. I had people praying for me after my husband passed away tragically last summer and i felt the prayers.

    1. I liked the kick flares best too. I’m sorry about your husband, that is every wife’s worst nightmare.

  50. Thank you so much for going through the different styles! I always love your honest opinions!

  51. So glad your brothers surgery went well.

  52. Thank you! I love this post. I’m going to try a pair of the pull on perfect pants. I love their flare pull on jeans. That’s great news about your brother! Such a relief for all of you.

    1. I have a pair of white and regular denim colored flare jeans, and they are some of my favorites.

  53. Jennifer Detweiler says:

Spanx are fabulous! They look great on you!
    Jen

  54. Thank you for this post , I know I need to bite the bullet and order a pair of black spanx pants unfortunately they were out of my size. I’ll have to keep checking back, they look so awesome on you.

  55. Okay, I really like the style of the original Perfect Pant, but at $148 they don’t fit my budget. Do you know of any similar pants that are more budget friendly? BTW, the pants shimmy should have its own name! 🤣👖

    1. I’ve got some pants ordered that I “think” might be similar. I’ll do a post about them if they are.

  56. Susan Mitchell says:

Thanks for sharing the black pants. I really like the kick flare ones.

  57. Love the first pair!
