SHARE THE GOOD NEWS
I never watch the evening news. It is always so depressing to me, and they hardly ever have anything good to say. I don’t need to know when someone is brutally killed in Michigan if I live in Virginia. I don’t even want to know that there are child molesters out there, much less a blow-by-blow account of the crime. I like to consider myself an Ostrich with my head in the sand.
What if instead of bad news, we decide to share the good news instead? Has anything happened in the world that is good news? Joe has a couple of sayings about good news. One is that “nothing really bad, or nothing really good, last a really long time.” In other words, hold on when things are bad, things will surely start to look up. And when things are going great, enjoy it while it lasts.
His other saying is, “the sun doesn’t shine on the same dogs rear all the time.” Your tail may not have seen the sun in a while, but there is always hope. Lol! Yes, my husband is very colorful!
Just for today, let’s share the good news. Have you lost weight? Have you been cured of a disease? Are you going to have a baby in the family? Got a promotion, bought a house, found a job, or have an upcoming wedding?
Today I am wearing the cutest top ever! This is a bell sleeved white crocheted dress/top that Classy Closet gave me to style. I am in love with this top, I can see me getting a lot of wear from this top this summer. I think it is going to even look adorable with shorts. I can’t wait to get the shorts out and give it try. I had at least 4 people tell me they thought I looked cute today. These are people who see me everyday, so it’s not like they were just being nice. Haha
The jeans are by Izod and I have had them for years. I have just recently started wearing them again, I have been wearing the skinny jeans, so these are a welcome change. I think they look nicer with a high heel, it makes them a little dressier. However, I think I am going to wear them with a pair of gray converse sneakers the next time, so you can judge for yourself. Here is a tummy-control capri jean and here is a plus size pair.
My nude heels are by Naturalizer. They are a brand that is usually comfortable for those who have feet issues. These have never hurt me, even from day one.
I am wearing a crystal and pearl necklace by Chloe and Isabel, and one that is by Monarch Inspirations. I bought that one in Marietta at a tea shop on the square, but here are some items that Amazon carries.
This is my re-enactment from the movie “Runaway Bride.” If you have seen the movie, she tries on a wedding dress and loves the way it makes a swishing sound when she rocks back and forth.
Now for some good news from me, I was contacted last night by an ad agency regarding a possible partnership. Nothing might come from it, but the good news is that someone actually noticed me. So what is your good news? Let’s all share on here and share the post on FaceBook. Wouldn’t it be great if for one day FaceBook was flooded with good news?

My good news, just visiting my son and daugter in law and my first grandbaby who was born on Sunday! I am in love with him already. God is so good.
Love the outfit! You’re right, too many bad things in the world I don’t want to hear about! My good news is I am a breast cancer survivor! Still in treatment, but I kicked it’s a**!! I look forward to reading your posts every day!
Love your outfit and thank you for your blog! I love it. Everyday is a good day. Our kids are grown and happy, beautiful grandchildren and we live on the Gulf of Mexico. What could be better? Enjoy your day!
I like your statement…..we let ourselves get too old. I tried a skirt on yesterday similar to the long white one you recently styled. I loved the skirt
but left it at the store. I thought it was too young for me. HMMMMM! Now I am rethinking. You certainly deserve to be recognized. Congratulations! My husband and I are both retired. My good news is he is going fishing today. I have a day to myself. The house to myself. WOO HOO! (All of you retirees will understand what I am saying.)
Have fun fishing, and even though I am not retired, I UNDERSTAND what you mean! lol!!!
You are the cutest thing ever! I love your southern sayings, that I grew up with! You were in my neck of the woods-Marietta Square ? Keep the cuteness coming!
Susy, we hold a vintage fashion show at Winnwood every fall. You will have to come this year.
I love this top! My good news is I have lost 25 lbs & I love your styling ideas?
Fantastic Leisa! I would love to lose the twenty pounds I keep losing and re-gaining back one more time. Haha
You always look so cute! Congrats on your possible partership! For good news; my son is getting married in July, my older daughter is having our first grandchild in September and my youngest daughter just got engaged and will marry next year! I never watch the news, except for the weather!?
Wow, wow, and wow! Sandy you have just got good news spilling out! Congratulations all around!
Thanks, they all waited, and now everything at once!
You look wonderful in that outfit! I look forward to and enjoy your daily posts!
It won’t be long before we see you on the Today Show or Ellen! You Go Gurl!!!!! Someone has to be the voice for the 50’s crowd!
You do look cute today! I would have been afraid that the top was “too young”, but it looks great on you. Congratulations on your good news! Something good will come of it! I am a news junkie, but I tend to find the silver lining in all circumstances in my life – good, bad or ugly. My glass is forever running over!!! Have a wonderful on-purpose day today and thank you for sharing you with us!!!!!
It is hardly ever “too young”, Cynthia. We just let ourselves get “too old.”
