LET’S RECREATE AN OUTFIT FOR LESS MONEY
Yay, it’s Friday! This has been a long week for me. My daughter has been getting me organized and on a schedule. It has not been easy, and I have resisted change the entire time. Change is hard, but sometimes it is necessary.
Now wake up at 5 AM, and try to leave the house by 5:15 to 5:30 to head to the gym. Once I get back home, I make myself a cup of hot chai tea and relax for about 15 minutes. Then it’s time to hit the showers and get dressed for the day. This is a huge change for me since I’m used to not waking up at any special time. But, I’ve already noticed a change in my energy level, and I’m getting my work done much quicker each day. Don’t tell my daughter, but I think I’m liking this new Tania.
Some of you might remember seeing this outfit back in November. It was a gorgeous outfit that I considered dressy/casual, but the problem with the outfit was, it was quite expensive. So today, I’m going to show you how to recreate an outfit that is less expensive and still looks just as nice.
I love this mock neck ribbed sweater for a couple of reasons. I like the longer tunic length which makes it great to wear with leggings, jeans, or pants. I like the neutral ivory/beige color because it will go with anything. The sweater is extremely soft and comfortable to wear, and it is 1/4 of the price of the sweater in the November post. The look is almost identical from a distance, just the pattern is different.
The jewelry that I’m wearing for this outfit is my geometric hoop earrings. This earring was one of the very first purchases I ever made from Kendra Scott, and I liked it so well that I bought it in silver and in gold. It is sold out on the Kendra Scott website, but I found it at another retailer. The multi-strand necklace is from Chloe and Isabel, who I think has gone out of business.
Here is the photo that shows you the length of the tunic sweater. You can see it’s plenty long and would work great with leggings. I did a French tuck on one side to create interest and elongate my legs. I’m wearing a size medium in this tunic sweater, and even though it’s oversized, I like the way it fits.
I wanted to stick with the casual/dressy look, so I added the skinny ankle pants in black to my outfit. These pants are a cross between leggings and dress pants, they are more like an everyday semi-dressy look. The pants might not be as dressy as some jobs require, but they look very nice for everyday dress pants. I ended up ordering a large, and the pants fit well, just a tad loose.
I added a pair of black pointy-toe ankle boots to my look. I wanted to wear pointy-toe shoes because I wanted to elongate my legs since I was wearing a tunic sweater. These boots have a chunky heel which is easier to walk in, but they are down to a size 10 and that’s all. So, I’ll see if I can find some similar options for you, especially in flats since I saw a lot of you asking for that in the comments.
The winner of my Valentine’s Day giveaway will be announced tomorrow! If you’ve not entered the giveaway, be sure to go to this post and leave a comment on the item you love the best. Necklace, Pearl Earrings, or the Chandelier Earrings. Keep scrolling until you see the LEAVE A COMMENT BOX to leave a comment.
Also, since I forgot to mention the deadline for my Lash Boost Special, I am extending the deadline until Saturday at midnight.
Some of you might not know, but I never had long lashes before October 2016, when I started using Lash Boost by Rodan and Fields.
Lash Boost is a clear lash serum that you use nightly. This serum is applied like eyeliner; you let it dry for 90 seconds, then head to bed. Longer-looking, fuller-looking, and younger-looking lashes can be yours! Rodan and Fields are sure this product will work for you. However, you have a 60-day money-back guarantee if it doesn’t, so you are never stuck with products that don’t work. Every Lash Boost order placed through the 15th will get a gift from me. I’ll send you a tube of the mascara that I use every day and a lash comb that you’ll need in a couple of weeks.
There are three ways to make a purchase. A retail customer where you pay full price and shipping, or as my Preferred Customer where you get a 10% discount and free shipping, or you become a consultant like me where you can get the best price. Message me if you have questions.

Omgosh..those pearl heart earrings would be so versatile. A girl can never have too many pearls 🤍💛🤍💛
The necklace. Love chicos jewelry
I love the outfit. I have a work casual attire. I love the pearl earrings
I like the look of the white top and black bottoms. I got lost in this post – sorry – maybe too much covered for this brain. The chandelier earrings are my pick.
I love the tunic sweater. Great neutral color and nice price!
Love the outfits and information to create them
Love your posts! Great style at affordable prices! Love the chandelier earrings!
I really enjoyed you sharing a very similar look with more budget friendly pieces! And both outfits are equally beautiful on you.

I love the outfit.
The earrings are my favorite.
I love this idea. They used to do this on tv and in magazines but I don’t see that anymore!
Thank you so much for your posts. You have helped me many mornings to decide what to wear and feel beautiful.
Good Friday morning. I loved your idea of recreated outfit. The sweater for the recreate I loved. Thanks again for your suggestions. Also I love love love those Pearl earrings. Pearls are my go to favorite to wear. Have a wonderful weekend. Ce Ce
Love the outfits.
I love this combo of cream and black. Looks great on you. I also love this idea of creating less expensive options. Did you notice that the the pants are the same price in both posts? The sweater is definitely a different price point though. I suppose it is hard to find quality bottoms for less than $100 but it would be nice though.
I love your outfit today! Very classy!
Love the pearl earrings!!!!!
I also like both new topic ideas!
Keep them! 🙂
Great idea finding a less expensive version of an outfit that is pricey. I love the alternate sweater more. I can’t seem to get the hang of the side tuck with tunics; especially sweaters which are bulkier than blouses. Thank you for the great posts. I really enjoy them.
I’m enjoying your new topics (series?): Hit or Miss, This or That…and now…Recreate!
I love the sweater tunic and the pants. I am only 5 ft tall and have a hard time finding casual pants that I can wear to church. Growing up in a Baptist church women never wore pants but Things change and pants are worn a lot. Where is a good place to shop for petite ankle pants or casual pants?
Those chandelier earrings are my favorite. Love this outfit too.
Love that sweater but I’m on the lookout for spring now. That necklace would compliment everything in my wardrobe!
Necklace for sure! By the way, I wear a 10 in a boot. Where did the boots that you are wearing come from? 🙂

Love the necklace! It would look great with my long tops!
I love the detail of the chandelier earrings!
I love love the heart pearl earrings they are so precious.
I love the necklace. It would go with so many different outfits.
Necklace is too cute!
I love the outfit! You look absolutely awesome and healthy Tania! You keep it up! You give us who need it inspiration! The cost is still more than I like to spend. They have a blush color in the sweater which is absolutely beautiful also! Love the hearts the best! Since my new granddaughter was just born on Valentine’s Day! My first grand baby! 💕
Oh I meant to add that the large pearl-like necklace in one photo is stunning. What a statement piece. By the way, your lashes look great too! The serum really works!
I missed the outfit in November but this is beautiful & classic. You can’t go wrong with black & ivory. Thanks for sharing this option.❤️
