I really like this medallion print shirt. I don’t remember buying it, and I was a little surprised when I looked at the label. It came from Cato Fashions, I figured I had bought it at TJ Maxx or Belk. It is on sale right now for only $12.99. I didn’t get a photo of the back, but it is a lace up design.
I was going to get my hair cut/colored, so I took a 3/4 sleeve cardigan with me. My hair stylist must stay hot, because she keeps that place FREEZING! I am grateful when I have to get under the hair dryer. Lol! I got smart today, even though it is in the high 80’s, and took my cardi with me.
The light blue just matched the small amount of blue in the medallion print. I can’t say I liked the outfit better one way or the other, but I liked the warmth of the cardigan. It is one that I have had for a while, and it is by Old Navy.
Blue Cardigan: Similar | Similar | PlusThere is so much print on this shirt, I almost didn’t even wear a necklace. I finally grabbed my Zuni layering necklace from Stella & Dot. After I put it on, I liked the way it looked on the shirt. It looks like I have a pretty good tan going on, but it is all self tanner. I have had several readers ask me about my products and how I apply them. Here is the post I did on how I get a faux tan.
I should have taken a close-up photo of my leather bracelet. It says G.R.I.T.S., Girls Raised In The South. How cute is that? These pants are Harve Benard and they reminded me of riding pants. It’s hard to see the details on them, but they have a seam at the knee going from side to side, then a seam down the middle from the knee to the ankle. Here is the last time I wore them, I wore riding boots with them Lol!
Pants: Similar | Similar | SimilarI am not rolling my eyes at someone, there must have been somebody coming down the hill that I saw. I think it was Joe being silly. Since I told you a story about my dad yesterday, I think I will tell you a short story about Joe today.
Joe’s family has an old hunting cabin that is surrounded by the National Forest. He and the other men in the family have gone hunting there for years. It is not a wooden cabin, which is what came to my mind, but a block building instead. He got the bright idea to take me, and the kids, with him for a weekend. We were not going hunting, just enjoying some peace and quite in the mountains. We drove the two hours to get there, then we dropped off out stuff at the cabin and decided to go for a long walk. Joe was pointing out all kinds of trees, weeds, flowers, etc. along the way. When we came to a huge pile of bear poop, the kids were all interested, but I was ready to head back to the cabin. It was a lot of fun, the kids running and playing along the way. Joe had warned me, that since the cabin was not occupied, that there might be some mice. I thought I would be smart and take our cat with us. This was no ordinary cat, she was a demon. It took months before anyone was able to even picked this cat up, but she had finally settled into the family nicely. The kids and Joe were all sitting on the couch, but I refused since I was thinking a mouse could be inside those cushions. Instead, I sat in a wooden rocking chair across from them. The cat was sleeping soundly on one of the beds. While we were talking, one of the kids said, “Look at that mouse over there by Mom’s head.” Sure there is, I said. But when I turned my head, this little mouse was walking on the bed rail beside my head, all the time that mean cat of mine was sleeping away. I jumped up and started slinging our things back in the cases. We are going home!!! They all thought it was hilarious, but I was having none of that. I made us leave and drive back the two hours to get home. I might have exaggerated about liking to rough it. Haha! Ever so often, Joe will ask me if I want to go to the cabin for the weekend. Lol!

I am right there with you! I absolutely am terrified of a mouse. I would be packing and going home too. But of course I would worry if any mice got into my suitcase!
This outfit is so cute. I kept looking at the pants and was glad you said there was a seam at the knee and down the front. I thought they were just creased really good! I’m with you gurlfriend on the mice. No way would I stay. In fact the house we lived in when I was pregnant was known for mice and my husband still swears it’s why I delivered early. I was sitting at the kitchen table one night after dinner and a trap went off behind me. He says it scared our son right out of me. Lol
Another cute outfit. You inspire me to dig through my closet.
The only part about camping I like is sitting around the fire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Then I’m ready to go home.
Strange I’ve never been scared of mice. I am terrified though of large fast moving insects. We lived in Hawaii at one time and an occasional palmetto bug would find its way in. Oh the horror!!!
BTW love your outfit 🙂
Love this outfit on you! I was curious to see the back of the top since you said it was “lace up”, but it was sold out. Is it lace up like corset style? I love tops with different details like that. So pretty!
No, it just had a lace-up design at the top of the shirt. Just decorative.
I cannot deal with rodents. A couple of years ago we had a pretty bad drought and we live in the country. I went out to water the flowers on the front porch. I looked down in one of my big pots and took a double take, thinking it was a squirrel, I was screaming my husband’s name. I was on one side of the garage and the rat was on the other side of the garage. I swear we (the rat and I) were poking out our heads out to see if the other was still there. I could go on with this story, but it would be way long bc it was funny in hindsight.
That had me laughing Melesa. I would have totally freaked out!!!
Cato top sold out. I love this outfit. You look fabulous!
oh hellllll no….I would’ve left that cabin immediately too!!!!! 🙂
?
I would have left the cabin as well. My husband has a hunting trailer and we went once just to pick up some items. Her found a snake skin! I sat in the car and have never returned. Not my scene! 🙂
Love the top!
That sounds like me! My whole family know about my phobia with mice. Love your stories and your style!
Thank you for the link about your tanner. I love reading your stories about your family. I think I feel the same way about “roughing” it as you do. I have stories about that subject and my family too!!
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! I discovered you through a link up on another blog last month and have enjoyed reading your past blogs too. Keep up the great work!
Welcome Lynette. So happy to see a VA gurl in the mix. ?
I would have been right there with you packing and out the door too when I saw a mouse. LOL My husband use to kid me about camping out. I always told him I couldn’t camp. No where to plug in electric curlers. I am afraid I am not a rough it kind of girl. Love the top and outfit. I always swing by Cato to check out what you have bought there. You are such a help when it comes to moderate price outfits. Are you changing your hair? Can’t wait to see. Connie R.
We have had so many cats that just ignore mice that I am starting to feel that them being good mousers is just a tall tale. We now have a stray that pretty much stays with us. He goes in and out and the other day he actually brought a live robin in our house and was batting it around. I love how you can tie outfits together. You always look so cute and ready for an adventure.
I agree with you about the cat, Carol. My mom had a yorkie dog that was the best mouser I ever saw. Haha
Nice outfit on you Tania and thank you for the self tanner post. Very helpful! 🙂
Love the post today and your cute outfit! Kay and Star’s stacked bracelets are my favorite. I tend to wear the same few “go-to” necklaces, but I love to change it up with fun bracelets. Thank you for all the fun posts!
Hi Tania! I love your style. I only discovered your blog last week but I loved it so much I went back to the start and read all of your posts! As I live in England, I’m not familiar with some of the stores you mention but I’m sure I can find alternatives. Keep up the good work!
Caroline, I am so happy you found me blog. I have never traveled oversea. Maybe one day?
I appreciate your style! I think I am most curious about how you keep such a trim figure. I know many of us gals find this more and more difficult. Do you have some tips or are you just a lucky gal!!
OMG! Thanks so much. I don’t think of myself as trim, it seems I am constantly battling weight gain. I have recently cut out all red meat, and try to eat meat sparingly. My downfall is sweets and salty crunchy items like potato chips. :(((
That is my down fall too. Salty and crunchy.
